My friends and I have been wanting to check out this place, so we went for brunch on a Sunday morning. I ordered the chicken tocino bowl and my friends ordered the pork sisig & bagoong fried rice. The bowls are so full of flavor and have a good amount of food (check out the pictures). I also ordered the butterbeer cold brew (delicious). We were able to find parking in the plaza right away. The wait wasn't too long. We got seated at a booth. The decor is simple and clean/bright/all around good vibes. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

Service quality has gone down a lot. We had reservations at 10:30am and were seated fairly quickly, only waited about 10 minutes after checking in with the host. However we waited 30 minutes for any food to come out after ordering. Followed up on drinks that we ordered after about 20 minutes and was told they were out of cold brew for Pandan Cold Brew AND matcha for the Strawberry Matcha we ordered. So we just cancelled our drinks because we didn't have the time to wait another 20 minutes to order new drinks, would have been appreciated to be told this at the start so we ordered something else. Also asked for extra whipped cream on the side for my pancakes to avoid it getting soggy when I take the rest to go but it was put on top of the pancakes anyways. There was also a couple of stems found in the blueberry composte that made it difficult to eat, could be a choking hazard actually. (See pics) We used to go here often for the service and delicious aesthetic plating of healthy food but was not happy with the service we were given today. Disappointing. Worth noting that the server did comp a side of $2 aioli sauce that I ordered for my fries like thanks but the $2 comp did not make up for the negative experience today. read more

Since I'm from out of town, I made a reservation here for Father's Day based on the reviews posted. There were 8 people in our party. It was a disappointment, the food was mediocre and not to mention that they forgot 2 out of the 8 dishes that we ordered. Both were for the fathers at our table. When we finally got the dish after everyone was done eating, the pasta was not even cooked thoroughly. Very disappointed and wish we would have gone somewhere else for Father's Day. Hi Cathleen, it was the shrimp pasta where the pasta was not cooked thoroughly, was stuck together. And the shrimp looked undercooked as well. The other dish was pork sisig, when we confirmed that it was missed, we just ended up cancelling that dish. read more

This place is amazing! It is pricy but the price reflects the quality of the food that you get as everything is locally sourced. When you support this restaurant you're supporting all of the other small local farms that they get their ingredients from! I had the southeast Asian short ribs and the matcha latte both of which were amazing. The service was excellent everyone there was super nice. This place looks so cute on Yelp but my experience wasn't the best. Whenever I go there seems to be a lot of people which is always a good sign. They have a large amount of options on their menu so I'm assuming what I ordered just wasn't the best. I got the Grilled chicken tocino bowl which for the price, you would expect it to be a lot larger or nicer? It was a small bowl with not much excitement to it. My dad also went with a few coworkers after I recommended it (giving benefit of the doubt to my bowl) and after he came back he was in the worst mood. With 3 people, their meal was over $100.... The two people, one got a burrito which she loved and the other got a burger which she did not like. Although this is now two not very good encounters, I refuse to believe that native fields food is not good! I want to try it again! read more

There are wines along the wall for purchase, and would be a beautiful spot to host a private party. I've only visited Native Fields for brunch in the past for brunch, but most recently had lunch here with a friend. We ordered the Grilled Chicken Tocino and Dungeness Crab, Salmon Caviar and Bucatini Pasta. Food was delish per usual and service was great. The only thing that bugged me was a sign on the wall that says "Intrested in hosting a private event in the resturaunt?" The spelling errors were so bad, and when I brought it up to one of the employees that they needed to fix it, she said that they keep it up as an inside joke because the person who wrote it spent so much time on it. Oookay.... So was it the owner's 3rd grade kid that made the sign? It doesn't exactly give me the vibe of a higher end dining experience when you don't even have signs with proper spelling. read more

First let me just say I get it . I am a little old school and expect taste, portion and price to match and none of this came close .. At 22 dollars a plate you would expect more then some potatoes 2 eggs 2 bacon and a slice of toast yes one slice of toast. Sorry I forgot the wilted lettuce salad also . I made the mistake of asking for a salt shaker and within minutes I had 3 people ask me if everything was ok .. New favorite spot in Walnut. I'm not sure about the brunch/breakfast, because I've seen some questionable reviews on that, but the standard lunch/dinner options are exquisite. They use organic, farmers market quality ingredients for everything, and it's the only hipster spot in Walnut, but price is extremely reasonable compared to places in LA. GRILLED CHICKEN TOCINO was my favorite. It's got everything you need for a meal after the gym (located right next to 24 hr fitness too). The grilled chicken has a superb flavor and it's juicy as hell. All the ingredients feel super healthy, so definitely come after a work out. 8 OZ GRASS-FED BEEF BURGER was also amazing, one of the best restaurant burgers I've had in a while. read more

We were in the area so we wanted to stop by here again; we've been here about 3 times or so before. We arrived at 11:30am and was told there was a wait of about 30-40 minutes. The wait took a bit longer than that, which was fine with us. We were seated and ordered. The wait for our food took about another hour or so... our host came to our table for waters and coffee and apologized for the wait. I don't blame the host, but I'm really not sure about waiting another hour after being seated... Anyway, we ordered the grass-fed burger and the pork sisig and banoong fried rice. Although the prices were on the higher side, the portions and taste were all great. The unexpected lengthy wait (both before and after being seated) and the high price point make it a 4 star for me. Came for brunch on a weekday and was greeted as soon as we opened the door. Service was attentive and our server had a warm and bubbly personality, which I loved. The interior is trendy and welcoming - it gave me highland park brunch vibes in walnut haha. Got the pandan coconut cold brew, matcha einspanner latte, grilled chicken tocino, and pork sisig. The drinks were both delicious and refreshing. Both of the bowls were SOO flavorful and I loved how there were a variety of fresh veggies. The chicken and pork were both tender and juicy as well. Price point is on the higher end but portions are huge and I appreciate that all the ingredients are from local farmers markets, supporting the community. We came here since Yelp ratings were great for this organic, fresh farmed & local foods restaurant. The restaurant is clean and offers some outdoor patio seating. Food here is fresh and tasted very good. The pancakes and fresh toast looked amazing. However there are concerns. The main concern here is super long wait times. We understand about staffing shortages but wait times here were very long. We were told to wait 15 minutes for a table. We waited 20 minutes, but that's ok no problem. Then after we sat down and we got water it took staff 15 minutes to talk to us. It took staff another 15 minutes to get our 3 iced teas drinks. Once we ordered, it took the restaurant another 30 minutes to get our food. So in all, over 45 minutes to eat from being seated. Ouch! This doesn't include the 20 minute wait outside. So our eating experience here for lunch was very long. If we have no where to be and 2+ hours to eat lunch, this place is great for brunch for $125 tab for 3. read more

Luckily, the lunch crowd had just ended, and there was no wait. They have seating outside and inside. It was warm, so we decided to sit inside. My friend and I were seated next to a table at the entrance. I asked for the breakfast plate that included 2 eggs over-medium, homemade chicken sausage, potatoes, salad, and toast. To drink, I asked for an Earl Grey Lavender Latte. My friend asked for the Filipino Pork Sisig, which is braised and roasted pork with a soft egg and garlic fried rice. We received the food within twenty minutes. The food was delicious. I loved the dressing on the salad. It was refreshing. The chicken sausage was tasty. I would order this dish again. My latte was good. The lavender was very subtle. I tried my friend's dish and it tasted great.The pork was very flavorful. I need to come back and try more dishes. read more

Haven't been there in over a year & was really excited to order their famous chicken tocino, only to be extremely disappointed. You'd think if you'd order an expensive $25 dish, it'd be gratifying, but chicken was really fatty. Breakfast burrito was equally disappointing: bland, even the salsa (?) couldn't salvage it. & finally, I tried to leave with a somewhat satisfied taste in my mouth by ordering their pastries...the cookie was so hard, it tasted as if it had been sitting there for days. I don't feel good about criticizing this place, but if you're going to charge your customers $25 dishes (& the portion size disproportionate to the cost, btw), it should be flavorful with good quality ingredients. read more

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the rice. I wish it was more fluffier. My friends got a pasta dish and the sisig. I got to try the sisig and it was okay to me. It's not the best sosig I have had. And my friend didn't like the rice like how I didn't like my rice on my breakfast bowl since it wasn't fluffy. Overall, I love the concept of the farm to table. Came here with my husband for breakfast on a Saturday at 9am and was sat down immediately, but it may have been because it was raining so I would suggest making a reservation. We ordered an earl grey matcha latte, breakfast burrito with chicken chorizo, an egg sandwich and ricotta pancakes. Everything was SO DELICIOUS!!!! Me and my family have been coming here for years as it is our go-to brunch spot in the area. I hate leaving a negative review for a local spot that we love. However, the service we received today was horrible. We were served the wrong drink twice and the second time, it was the same incorrect drink but watered down. Our drinks did not come until after we paid our bill and were ready to leave. Second, I ordered a specific sandwich due to a dairy allergy and when I received my sandwich I noticed there was cheese on it, which is not noted on the menu. I am glad I double checked the sandwich or else I could have had a serious allergic reaction. Lastly, it took so long for our food to arrive and by the time we were leaving we did not even want a coffee anymore as we had ordered it nearly an hour before. Again, so sad about this experience as we typically love this spot. read more

My family and I went with a party of about 16 of us. We enjoyed the food, their drinks, the music, and the service. However, everything was good until they forgot a plate for one of our guests. We brought it to the attention of several servers, but it just seemed like they couldn't get it together. They brought it out when everyone else was pretty much done eating. We also had asked twice to warm the cinnamon rolls we ordered, each time they came back cold. Our party also really did not appreciate watching the owner belittle one of her employees in the middle of the open kitchen. She spoke to him which looked very aggressive and right in his face while our whole party could see. There was no discreteness about their disagreement despite there being a closed off kitchen area right behind them. We won't be going back for the reasons listed. read more

My husband took me here for my birthday and I loved it! Happy hour has a really nice selection. We got the parm fries, marinated olives, crab bucatini pasta, the burger, an aperol spritz and a beer. It was free dessert night so we also got a cinnamon roll to go. There was no wait for Wednesday night during happy hour. They were busy but not slammed. The ambiance was lovely and I really appreciated that there was a live musician playing. Although it was a bit too loud, it was hard to hear our conversation. The crab bucatini pasta was my favorite dish. It's been a couple weeks since we dined here and I'm still thinking about that pasta, I would definitely order it again. The pasta itself had great texture. The herbs and garlic were great with the crab and it was just a well-balanced dish. Also the portion was big, I could see it being a shared dish, otherwise it makes great leftovers. My husband said his burger was good but a bit too messy as the meat patty fell apart in his hands with each bite. I sooooo love this place. Their food is not only all organic, but also made so well. You can definitely tell they have really good quality food and ingredients. They do brunch so well! Potatoes are perfectly crisp and seasoned. Eggs are buttery and custardy, not overcooked. The levain toast gives you that ASMR satisfaction with how well they toast it. The bacon is also of good quality because you can tell it's not some cheap bacon from Walmart lol. Their non-brunch items are also superb. The calamari comes correct . Perfect flavor, texture/breading, and the calamari itself is not rubbery. The dipping sauces are also so good. I also love their pasta! They got some very creative pasta dishes that I always look forward to trying. They don't skimp out on the ingredients, as you can see from the very jumbo shrimps! And of course: the wiiiiiine they have such an amazing natural wine selection. Some are even imported, therefore I trust that they curate a wine list from quality wineries that don't mass-produce wine, which means you're getting quality grapes from its country of origin without any added preservatives. Highly recommend the wine I took a photo of if they have it!! Lastly: AMAZING SERVICE they're so attentive and so friendly. They recommend food/wine very well. Had to give it. A try because a friend of mine said they use ingredients and food from farmers market and it's so important to get fresh foods from farm here market and not. Their food was pretty good. Cute little place for sure. I walk in to be seated and the person working the front sees me but decides to put waters on EMPTY tables first... the store is 25% full and you can't take a minute to either seat me or tell me where to pick up my food? Not okay. She finally finishes putting the waters down in EMPTY tables that no one was sitting at just to tell me pick up orders are at another section. So I'm waiting at the other section to pick up my food that's ready and a couple inches from me. About 5-6 employees notice I'm there waiting and none of them help me. The store wasn't busy it was 25% filled. I'm waiting and waiting to the point I just want to leave because what the heck. Finally got my order after taking forever. The size of the chicken sausage was small. Compare it to the size of my fork. I also asked for hot sauce and got like 2 or 3 drops. Overall pretty good but weird service needs tonight drastically improve. I will give five stars because this can be improved and the quality of food was good and I love that they support farmers markets and I love supporting all businesses and putting my money back in the community than big companies. read more
