My husband and I went here for their Valentines special and we were so glad we did! The food was very good, and great portions!! The chef did an amazing job and we were impressed! The wine pairings were great and very generous pours as well. The best part were the owners- they came around often and were so nice, attentive and wanted to make sure we had a great time. We will definitely be back and have told our friends what a great experience it was as well. Highly recommend

The Third Street Wine Shop is truly a hidden gem in La Verne. I absolutely love my experiences here. Sitting on the patio, sipping exceptional wines, and enjoying their delicious charcuterie boards always feels special--it truly feels like home. The owners are wonderful and treat every guest like family. I highly recommend this wine shop to anyone looking for great wine and an inviting atmosphere. The perfect date night.

First time experiencing a wine tasting onsite. I've picked up wines here before for other events, but we stopped here after a brunch with our wine friends (16 of us) and did tastings, bought bottles, and shared some charcuterie boards. The inside space is small, but they did accommodate our group, which took up all except one inside table. There is some additional seating on the porch and in the front yard of this Victorian style home turned wine shop. Parking is on street only and can be scarce on weekends. They offer wines by the bottle, glass, or 2 levels of tastings. The first is the House Tasting which is 3 - 3 oz. pours of the shop's choice. The second is a custom tasting, which allows you to pick any 3 of the 8 wines available, and then pours you 3 oz. tastings. The price of this one varies depending on your wine selections. My wife and I opted to share two custom tastings, and we got to try 2 whites and 4 reds. Can't say we liked them all, but we did leave with a bottle that we tasted, as well as purchase another bottle to share with friends while we were there. Overall, a fun little shop with some nice wines, small bites, and good service. As I always say, wine tasting is subjective to the individual's palate. I'm sure you'll find something there that you like. Follow them @3rdstreetwine or www.thirdstreetwine.com.

The service was absolutely AMAZING! The owners truly care about providing the very best experience ever. From their recommendations with pairing food to my "red wine that is NOT sweet" preference, the overall experience was a night to remember! The prices are very reasonable. This is a great place for date night, or girls' night out. They have heaters outside, and people watching is always a blast- especially when you have some wine in you. Highly recommend everyone tries this hidden gem in downtown LA Verne, for you will go back- over and over again. The pictures are of the phenomenally delicious wine pairing plate we got with our NOT sweet red wine, and our palettes were highly satisfied!

The place was cute after our dinner. The ambiance was exactly what we thought it would be. We wouldn't frequently come but it was great for what it is. If you are looking for conversation with friends and/or family some tasty cheese and laughs then this is the place. It was very homey given it was actually a house and transformed into a wine tasting place. I kept looking for the couch

Small and cozy local wine shop

I really like this place... I live across the way on 5th and D St. so, it's literally a block away. 1. It's a small place and I love that coziness. 2. They rotate their wine tastings which is great. 3. The older couple that run it, they have their way of doing things haha. The sarcastic old man, you're either going to like him, with a mean face and all, or you're not lol. Personally, I look forward to seeing him and his wife when we go there and I always buy at least one bottle. I wouldn't change a thing.

We had the butter cake with house made blackberry whipped cream. The butter cake was moist and the most buttery of any butter cake I've ever had. The whipped cream was rich and had just the right amount of blackberries incorporated into it. We also shared the Chef's Choice orange cheesecake which was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. It was definitely orangey but not in your face. It was on the edge of being tart but not to the point of being sour, and best of all, it wasn't too sweet. Both desserts were sublime! Nicole, our server did an excellent job of describing all of the desserts. She was attentive but not overly. It was obvious that she enjoyed her work. She was friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional. Nicole, thanks for making our experience at Fourth Street Mill memorable. The restaurant is rustic and quaint in a low keyed setting. It was a beautiful day so we enjoyed our desserts on the patio. All of the tables were clean. The chairs were very comfortable. This restaurant is special. My friend and I agreed that we'll be returning, maybe for brunch or something else. Thanks Fourth Street Mill for providing excellent customer service, outstanding food and a very welcoming and comfortable setting.

A friend I met many years ago at a wine tasting invited me to a Burgundy wine class at Packing House Wines, and I attended. The store is located up a few steps on the north side of the Claremont Packing House. Parking is usually not an issue as there is a big multi-level parking garage on the east side of the packing house. All attendees sat down to a list of wines to be tasted, a printed out copy of the slides being presented, a big burgundy wine glass for pours, water, and a nice little charcuterie plate. The owner Sal gave the presentation, and it was easily the best wine class I have ever attended. He talks pretty fast, but not too fast, and his delivery was excellent, providing an extensive amount of information that was easy to understand. We pretty much learned everything about Burgundy wines from the history of the region, the stringent production laws, different classes of Burgundy wines, and details about all of the different producers and regions we tasted wines from. The class was scheduled for two hours, but it ended up lasting for two and a half hours. It would have been easy to stay for much longer as the class and wines were very enjoyable. The wine class was a little pricey at $125 per person, but this was a bargain as Burgundy wines are expensive. We were able to taste ten 1.5 ounce pours including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines (one of them was $350/bottle). My favorites were the '17 Albert Bichot Fixin ($53.99) and the '20 Domaine Lecheneaut Vosne Romanee ($124.99) which I purchased. They have wine classes regularly, and I will definitely return if one catches my eye. They have quite a selection of wines for sale, as well as tasting flights and food from their kitchen.

We went here for mother's day. It was my first time here. It is definitely a pricier establishment…read moreso I was looking forward to finally trying it out. We sat outside and the ambiance (both inside and outside) were nice. The outside was definitely a lot quieter than inside, and the server next to us even offered to turn on the heaters (though not needed). I enjoyed being outside. We started off with appetizers which included grilled octopus and oysters. Although, even though they were on ice, the oysters weren't cold enough for me. Still, we downed them with the fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce and just prayed about it later lol. My family liked the grill octopus. It was tender and had a very smokey char flavor but if I'm being honest, it was not MY favorite so I probably would not personally order again. Even my mom said she thought it was "just alright." I ordered the Branzino and it lacked in flavor. I was not a fan of the green sauce it had on the side. It was not completely terrible, but not great either. It was cooked well and crispy, but that's all I can say for it as even Tabasco didn't make it great. The best thing of the night was probably the lamb chops and the cheese ravioli. They were both cooked well & tasted great so if I were to come back Id stick to pasta and that. The lychee mocktails & their ricotta cheesecake were probably my favorite things on the menu. The tart was decent. Our waiter was slow at times and kept either forgetting certain drinks or what we asked of him or the kitchen was just slower than usual. I'm not sure which, but service wasn't on par with the price point in my opinion. Luckily we were pretty relaxed, but my mom had finished her food by the time her wine arrived. Overall, it was an ok night. My family at least had fun and enjoyed their time there. The food was presented nicely, and service was OK as a whole but I'm not sure I'd come back on my own accord again. Definitely nice to say I've visited & tried it out at least once though!
