    Shrimp & Grits

My friend ordered the shrimp & grits, I had the breakfast burrito and we shared the banana bread (which, by the way, is two large slices with fruit and a little caramel on the side) for Sunday brunch. All of it was delicious, generous portions, and the unlimited mimosas didn't hurt either. Staff was everything you want while you're dining: attentive and friendly while remaining unobtrusive. I live in Encino and I will make the drive again just to go to Kindred.

If I were to ask you to picture the most elegant and sophisticated wine bar anywhere on earth, you might think of, oh, I don't know, La Compagnie St Germain in Paris or Oscar Wilde in New York or even Wally's in Beverly Hills. You probably wouldn't think of one in Valencia, would you. Well, I have been to all of the above and I am telling you, you would be missing out on a one of a kind, out of this world experience that can be had any day of the week at Kindred Spirits, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency. No, I didn't expect it to come anywhere close to the stratospheric experiences you could have were you to choose any wine bar you fancied, but, the minute I got inside, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience that I will want to repeat. First of all, it's downright beautiful. Flawlessly decorated with a chic living room vibe with just the right elements to suggest a curated museum-level sensibility. See my pictures as well as all the others here on Yelp. I spent the entire time noticing little details like the plush velvet banquet, the clubby wing back arm chairs, the art deco artefacts and furnishings, paintings, sculptures, even the ceiling lights were unique and obviously carefully selected. And then there is the stupefying wine and spirits menu that goes on and on. I rarely drink anything alcoholic but I couldn't pass up a taste of one of the exquisite sparkling wines that caught my eye. There is a full range of everything. If you really must have beer, it's there, but! For heaven's sake, try something elevated -- ask for recommendations. You won't be disappointed. However, the star of the entire experience is the menu. Now, remember, I am a lifelong vegetarian. I had fun limiting myself to four choices -- I could have had more were I not on a perpetual diet. You can see what we ordered in my photographs. Each dish was superb, really, first in class. Nonetheless, take a good look at my photographs of the Autumn Apple Tarte -- it is the g.o.a.t., believe me. Not only did it taste celestial but notice the tiny flowers? The chef, Priscilla, is a highly skilled and trained artist, her medium just happens to be delicately flavored and arranged plates of heaven. And Sarah, our attendant took a concierge approach to caring for us. A cosmopolitan playlist provided a lyrical backdrop that just made everything flow like silk. Parking is easy, simply use the Hyatt Convention Center parking lot adjacent to a verdant golf course or their garage, for free. There are two main rooms and we asked for the "lobby"-like large room with a giant table that we had all to ourselves, given we were there in the late afternoon on a Sunday. Even so, clientele were coming and going. It was the golden hour and we were draped in a warm light and cozy but uplifting spirit. The entire experience was flawless. And the tab? Ridiculously reasonable. You may not be headed to Rodeo or Saint-Germain-des-Prés or West 27th street any time soon. So, instead, treat yourself to this epic wine bar. You will thank me, when you do.

We came here for dinner on Friday and came back on Sunday for brunch. The service is amazing. The ambience is cozy. The service is perfect. Most importantly the food is insane. We tried the meatballs, marinated cucumbers, lasagna and the ceviche for dinner. Everything was genuinely 10/10. The brunch food was next level. The chicken and waffles were SOOOO good and the crab cakes Benedict was delicious. Love this place and will be making it one of the regular spots

This place was absolutely beautiful! It was great seeing they carried multiple orange wines! The charcuterie board was delicious. The sliders were my favorite and the shrimp was juicy! I think everything was a bit over priced, but it is definitely a place I'll be coming back to in SCV!

First timers and will definitely be back! Diane helped us out and we enjoyed everything we ordered to share- the prosciutto and fig flatbread, the burrata and Brussel sprouts, and the roasted tomato and burrata skillet with crostini. For dessert we got a cheese and meat selection! Great wine and I loved the shape of the glasses hehe.

We were in the area for the night and decided on Kindred Spirits for dinner. Really pretty place with tables inside and on a patio. We like sharing small plates, and enjoyed the wine selection.

The service was amazing very attentive and delightful. This was our first time trying this place and it felt like a hidden gem. One the hours are amazing, it is hard to find a place that is good and open late. The atmosphere was very clean, elegant and relaxing. The food was incredible, there is a small menu but it has a bit of every category and the small menu really made the quality and taste of the food amazing. I felt I was eating at a five star restaurant.

New, non-chain, places in Santa Clarita to eat and drink delicious things? Yes, please. We made a reservation at Kindred Spirits Wine Bar as soon as we learned it existed, any place that has a cheeseboard is a place that I want to go to and eat the cheese at. That doesn't mean that it's going to be good, but in this case it was really good. It still has that new restaurant vibe. Everything is clean, the staff is really attentive. There are lots of seating options, including tables and seats at the spacious bar, and a separate room as well. My wife and I sat at a table near the bar, the place wasn't packed on a Thursday night so we probably didn't need a reservation, but never a bad idea to have one. We had a flight of red wines, our favorite... And they were especially accommodating, giving us tastes of some of them before the flight came out so we could make the best possible choice. That was very generous of them, considering that the wine-tasting glasses are about the same size as the flight glasses. There are great and unique vegetarian options on their food menu, including the Podi Fries - perfectly cooked skin-on french fries coated with Indian seasoning. These were delicious we would come back just to eat these again. My wife and I also shared truffle Arancini, coded fried rice balls on a marinara sauce... A classic Italian dish, again delicious. And we had the Grilled Romaine with Avocado and Cotija cheese - Nice looking dish with little tortilla strips on top... Not my wife's favorite iteration of this kind of dish, but we both generally liked it. There are a slew of other vegetarian offerings, including Shuka, soups, and salads, flatbreads, and other small plates, such as brussels sprouts and a creamy Barada dish. The kindred lasagna looks pretty good too, so there are lots of opportunities, as vegetarians to come back try something different and have more of their quite extensive wine collection. We love this kind of place and are so happy that they've opened up here in Santa Clarita.

Your wines are good little pricey for my taste for the options you get of mostly just red's or for what you get. I wish you had a better variety of whites. Anyways, we got in there. We sat on the couch in the front unfortunately for us. It was the only day we can come and they had a Christmas in July thing going on in the streets. Unfortunate for me as I've had a knee replacement and we drove around for 30 minutes trying to even find a parking spot to get in there cause we had to pick up our wines with the subscriptions /membership that we had. My daughter and her friend were there and enjoy their selves immensely so with all the hype that she was telling me about this place I was excited to go, but like I said, unfortunately, you were having Christmas in July nothing but screaming kids running around and the streets were packed... not what I wanted for a relaxing environment. But once we got into the establishment, like I said, we sat on the couch we started to have our tasting. It was peaceful and quiet and then all of a sudden these family start walking in with all their kids and it became a romper room. This is a winery. This is a place that adults go to relax shouldn't have children running under foot while you're trying to taste wines or just relax. That was the biggest disappointment I have with this place is that you allow children to run around I will not return. I'd rather go to a wine where I can relax... Again, the girl that waited on us absolutely amazing. She gets five stars. The fact that she let children and all this ruckus in there three star.

Flash forward to 2026, it's a Monday around 8pm and knowing that this place doesn't close until 10pm, we figured we'd give it a shot. We arrived around 8:20pm, and asked for a table for 2. We were immediately directed into the bar which I thought was a little odd but I figured maybe they had just cleaned the main dining room for the night and it would be easier for them if they sat us in the bar. There was one customer at the bar, but he left about ten minutes into us arriving. After the bartender closed his tab out, she came to our table and took our order. She offered us bread, but it never came out. We started with an order of the figs prosciutto and salami flatbread, and the Monterey Bay tempura calamari. Both dishes came out in about 12 minutes. My partner and I enjoyed the calamari but were more impressed with the flatbread. The way the fig, and cheese, and prosciutto all blended with one another was deliciously sweet and savory. Once the appetizers came out, we put in an order for our entrees and drinks. My partner got a watermelon spritz, and I got a sparkling water. For dinner, my partner ordered the Penne Bolognese and I ordered the Linguine Pesto. The entrees took about an additional 20 minutes to whip up. I think if you're in the mood for pasta, these are both great picks. Personally, I thought the Penne Bolognese had more meat than I would have preferred, but I recognize that I'm not a huge meat eater, and for someone like my partner who has to have meat in every meal, it was incredible. My Linguine Pesto was perfectly cooked, cheesy, and the pesto flavors were prominent. I'm guessing this is a one off thing, but when we were seated in the bar area - I was getting bit by mosquitos like crazy. When I got home, I had at least 3 bites on my stomach, and then a handful running down my leg. To be honest, mosquitos love me, so I normally wouldn't have mentioned this but my partner who doesn't typically get bit as much as I do, started getting attacked too and we had to leave because we were so itchy. Overall the food here is fantastic - and I think would be a great date night spot. For 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks (1 alcoholic) our bill was $115 subtotal. There's also plenty of parking which is a plus.

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that also continues onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and this turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from the food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the complex sauce above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.

Upon entry, the restaurant feels super intimate- almost a cozy vibe if it weren't for the white tablecloths and linen napkins. Once I was seated, looked over the menu and ordered, I decided to look up reviews on Yelp. Not as positive as I usually look for before selections a restaurant but I am so glad I came in before I made this snap judgement! I also saw that although being open for lunch, they again close to prep for dinner service so I am equally glad I stopped when I did. I selected the tequila chicken fettuccine, at the recommendation of the wonderful man who sat and served me, ( I was thinking about carbonara). I will probably wake up craving this pasta!! Flavorful, chicken cooked perfectly and not sitting in an overly creamy sauce. I also enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, crisp and lovely, and upon inquiry, learned it is not available in stores! I'll probably be back for a glass or two of wine at the very least!

It's easily one of the best restaurants in the area and has become a go-to whenever I'm visiting my sister. What really sets it apart is the service. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They remember their regulars and make you feel valued from the moment you walk through the door. That personal touch goes a long way and keeps us coming back. The food is consistently delicious, with comforting Italian classics that always hit the spot. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is one of those restaurants that makes you feel like family. Great food, warm hospitality, and a neighborhood gem that Santa Clarita is lucky to have.

A great Italian spot!…read more Despite a busy night, the service was warm and welcoming. Our main server was great, but it's always a great sign when other servers come to check in on you too. The space is quite large, but a bit cramped. We were seated in a a patio-like space towards the back of the restaurant. We ordered the calamari, Mezzelune di Crostacei, and Tortelloni di Brasato. The calamari is highly recommended. It was fresh, lightly fried, and paired well with the sauce. The Mezzelune di Crostecei was amazing. The ravioli was perfectly cooked and the juices from the shrimp and scallop made it a perfect bite. The only disappointment was the Tortelloni di Brasato. The herb cream sauce was delicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, the short rib filling was akin to a beef puree and several of the tortellonis had very little filling. Overall, I had a great experience and looking forward to try other menu items!
