I left a $26 cash tip on the table and paid my bill by credit card. Then, when I returned the following week, I intentionally left a $30 cash tip and again paid by credit card. As I was walking toward the door, I turned around and saw the same employee do essentially the same thing--take the cash and put it into her pocket. At the time, one of the managers, who was also working as a waiter, was nearby on the phone. Maybe he was taking an order or handling something important, so I understand that he may not have noticed what happened. I've worked in the restaurant business myself, so I understand that every restaurant can have different procedures for handling tips, and there may be an explanation that I'm not aware of. But seeing what appeared to be the same thing happen twice made me uncomfortable. I'm not trying to cause trouble for anyone, and I certainly don't want to make an accusation without knowing the restaurant's policy. I simply believe management should be aware of what I observed and look into it. We really love Bella Cucina, and I want to continue coming there.
