I can't believe I am the first one to review. This is a takeout place, but when you get your order, you can take your dinner out to the deck overlooking the bay, and get a beer to go with it from Aqua Bar. I got the special Swordfish and Chorizo Stew over Wild Rice. I paired it with a Sam Summer, a view of the bay and I was thrilled. It was absolutely delicious. They have a full menu of fresh seafood and went back for the fried clams and calamari that were delicious. A great casual waterfront dining experience. read more

We had been in Provincetown for a couple of days and were feeling a bit saturated on lobster rolls and junk food. We were really craving some fresh, healthy seafood. We stumbled upon this place while getting a gelato across the way and decided to come back later for dinner. This place is run by a nice gentleman who's name I can't remember and his young daughter who was taking our order. They both were helpful and friendly. The food: I got the Hake(a flakey, mild, cod-like fish), grilled with rice pilaf and salad. The fish was cooked perfectly and I actually tasted the fish which I had been missing over the past couple of days. The salad was good and the dressings were homemade, as well as the tarter sauce. My partner got the blue fish, blackened with hand cut french fries and a salad. Again, perfectly cooked, fresh, and tasty. The fries were some of the best I've had. And best of all, you take your food out to this amazing deck which overlooks the water and eat your dinner in the fresh, beautiful outdoor air. You wouldn't find this place if you didn't look (hard) but its the real deal for shanty-style lobster rolls and hand cut fries. You order from their counter then go find a seat on the patio outside and buy beer or cocktails from a separate bar overlooking the harbor. Unbelievable delicious fish tacos and chowder. One woman shop so you need to wait for her to come out from the kitchen to place your order and then another wait for her to cook it, 10 min total, but it is worth the wait. read more

What a VIEW! Business may also be called 'the Aqua Bar' but the sidewalk menu sign has Native Local Seafood at the top, hence the confusion. Either way it's down the small sky covered open ended restaurant tunnel, on the right across from the gelato stand. Here you order and pay for food upfront usually, however the food my parents ordered later they began a tab for us. Very simple business appearance but don't be mistaken, I ordered 24 yummy bayside raw oysters but got 27 w lots of lemons per my request for only 40$. A bowl of fresh yet decent clam chowder was $7 but came in paper. That's okay except for gale winds nearly blew it into a customer besides us on the amazing view patio deck. Watch for wind! Mother had lobster pasta for 19$, loaded with lob meat. Father had the hearty fisherman plate 25$ calamari just lightly fried how I LOVE it, fries, large scallops, lite fried cod, shrimp. It was all a considerable amount of food value. Patio Bartender was quite flamboyant, which is always fine except he seemed more interested In being noticed and grooving to ambiance music than actually serving up drinks, so I left the steady line to enjoy water. This place is the real deal when it comes to classic NE seafood. We went there for oysters and were so blown away by the quality and freshness (the owner grows all the shellfish himself) that we went back for lunch the next day. The staff remembered us and were friendly and professional. Lunch the next day was spot on. We got the fisherman's platter and a dozen oysters. The batter was well seasoned and not caked on with that evaporated milk batter they use at other places. A nice light batter to compliment the freshness of the seafood. The oysters were perfect again, along with Ben's outstanding shucking skills! As a born and bred New Englander with chowder for blood, I give this place a seal of approval and would recommend it for anyone looking for the best seafood in PTown. read more

No nonsense. The name says it all. 'Native Cape Cod Seafood'. Any questions? Next time you find yourself walking the streets of Provincetown and feeling a little hungry -and you feel like having a screamingly fresh, seasonal, made-to-order dining experience in one of the most convivial atmospheres around- take it upon yourself to seek out this sweet little seafood spot. It's a bit hard to find but that's half the fun. Head down Commercial Street towards the West End; continue past the Crown & Anchor, past the brick post office, and just a little bit further on your left you'll find a large barn door opening on to a tiny brick square. Take a step inside the old Aquarium Marketplace and continue towards the water, until you come to the last little 'shack' on your right. Under the discreet white sign bearing the 'Native' logo, you will find a single handwritten menu on a single overworked chalkboard. The menu is created daily, according to what is fresh, local and -more often than not- inexpensive. The dusty and overworked slate is a testament to the spontaneous daily menu as well as their strict policy of serving only the freshest products available that moment. As soon as an item is sold out it is crossed off the menu. There is no mad-dash to the supplier for more products. There's no hastily put-together replacement item to fill the spot rubbed off the menu. The simple fact is that the experience of the team at Native Cape Cod Seafood guarantees that whatever is being served is the freshest, tastiest and most in-season product from the sea that day. Nothing else to them would be acceptable, as they are the least bit interested in even a slight compromise in quality in exchange for a few more bucks at the end of the day. It's far too easy for locals and tourists alike to find themselves paying through the nose for poor quality seafood so close to some of the best fishing and shellfishing in the world. I've eaten here a handful of times since they opened in 2011, and it is one of my favorite places to bring locals and visitors alike. My girlfriend and I went specifically for the chowder on a few occasions -it is the best around by far- and were surprised and delighted each time by the variety of new dishes and preparations to try. I'll still never forget my first visit being persuaded to order the day's offering of fish tacos, a dish I never order and steer clear of. Still full from chowder, I was presented with a steaming plate of perfectly seasoned and lightly fried hake (a rarity on the Cape) served with local micro greens, fresh chunked tomatoes and native fresh sweet corn salsa with amazingly light adaptation of a traditional tartar sauce drizzled on top. All for about $10. Needless to say, as it is months later and I can still remember every ingredient, I devoured it entirely. It wasn't until an unreasonable time afterward that I took the time to look up from my plate to realize I had the most spectacular view of Provincetown Harbor from where I was sitting. Did I forget to mention the dining/cocktail area just past the enticing chalkboard and out the back door of this wonderful marketplace? It is simply the most relaxed, enjoyable and comfortable little deck area sitting on the sand overlooking the bay. There are a handful of picnic tables, a smattering of bar-tables and a wrap-around counter space along the entire edge of the deck with stools facing the water. It is the most wonderful little spot with a group but even if you go alone you'll inevitably end up talking with and exchanging stories with those around you. Oh and there's also a full service bar out there too. No table service, no hostess, no gimmicks, no nonsense. You just order your food at the counter from the person who's making the food, carry it still steaming over to the first open seat you see (there are no bad views), maybe grab a drink at the bar, and enjoy the freshest most creative seafood meal you can find anywhere. It's shocking how high quality the product is for the price; all of the extra running costs that are eliminated in this democratic dining concept allow for much more value for your money. And this is why I wrote this review.To let everyone know about what a great concept this whole little complex has going. I'm always excited to introduce people to this little secret spot, and I've never been disappointed. So next time you're looking for a truly amazing meal with a priceless view and relaxed atmosphere, get on your feet and go find the Native Cape Cod Seafood shack. The clam chowder is very salty and has too much dill seasoning. The linquica sandwich was great but the fries were awful.

Great view form the deck however the food was not up to par. The lobster was tough, corn on the cob was rotten and the Lobster in the Rough should come with steamers not just fries. The menu is very confusing, why would any one pay more for just fries with a Lobster (Lobster in the Rough) when they would spend less and buying a lobster and fries separately. read more

We asked the girl taking orders whether the shellfish sampler had shrimp in it. When she said yea, we ordered it based on her answer. Guess what the sampler didn't have? Shrimp. When we brought in to their attention, the owner and the girl both said that they "wouldn't have said that the sampler had shrimp in it because it doesn't" and that the girl thought I was asking about a different dish. Aside from the fact that it makes no sense that I would ask about one dish, and then order another dish, there were no sincere apologies or any offer to right their mistake. I understand that misunderstandings happen but seafood is not cheap and it really sucks to be misled and ultimately disappointed like that. They did not handle the situation with any grace and instead became defensive. With so many friendly and delicious places in the area, you could do better. Also, the steamers were so mushy they disintegrated and fell apart when you tried to pull them from the shell. read more

Don't waste your hard earned money! Caulk board at entrance advertised several mussel specials... It draws you in only to hear they have no mussels! Take down the sign or erase the chalk board if you can't serve what you advertise. But, drawn in and hungry I ordered the fish and chips platter. How sad.... Very small portion of fish... It was basically a French fry platter for almost $20. Quite a disappointment considering you can walk down the street to Bayside Betsey's and get a great portion for the same price... Have gone to Seafood Sams for 30 years, and the last couple have gone down hill. I keep trying every year, but after tonights seafood platter I am done. Not good, not much, and not worth the money.
