This is the cutest story I've been to all year! I love it, so many different products to look at and buy! They even have a wine suitcase. Very cute cards and honey and body wash so many different things to choose from! They have snacks too! There's a restaurant inside as well I highly recommend. Drew so cool and she said it's the stores 23rd anniversary.
To sum it up, no thank you, I won't be coming back. We came on a Friday at about 10:30am and sat inside. While we were given menus, we were then ignored for the better part of 15 minutes. Once we did order, the food came out relatively fast. We each got one of the combos. My boyfriend got the one with pancakes, and didn't like his scrambled eggs, but said the pancakes were fine. I got the combo with the French toast. I'll start with the good, in that the eggs were poached perfectly. The potatoes were fine, though they needed actual seasoning. And now for the bad: this was some of the worst French toast I've ever had. Overall, I'll give it points for eggs that are poached well, but I have zero interest in coming back.
Came here for a light lunch during my aunts birthday and I'm not going to lie it wasn't the best. On the one hand, it's a general store that serves food so I'm not expecting it to have first class service but I definitely felt like my experience and food fell short. I ordered the "famous" Chinese chicken salad and although the ingredients were great and fresh, the sauce was SO SALTY. I couldn't eat more of it because it was just hard to eat. The waiter also brought out complimentary chocolate malasadas (?) he never clarified what they were just that they were on the house... I found these to be super doughy and not the best. The service was overall disappointing... Upon being seated we noticed the table had place settings for 5 people instead of 6, and we had to keep asking to bring another set of utensils for our 6th person. When the waiter brought out dessert for us he also only brought 5 plates... despite there being 6 of us. I my malasada off a napkin because I didn't want to chase him down. So weird. Someone in my party ordered the Chinese chicken salad with the dressing on the side and when they brought it out it was fully mixed and not on the side. We also had to ask twice for a Diet Coke that was ordered with the initial drinks. A lady who was working at the store side also came to us and asked to take a photo of us for their Instagram page, which, was nice, but she also didn't offer to take one of us on our phone or to send the photo to us. so it felt like we were being used as props. Ultimately the food was pretty average and salty and the service was not the best. Would not go again...

We had brunch here after visiting my Grandma nearby. The patio is lovely with blooming pomegranate trees in early fall. The brunch is very filling with large portions. My honey really enjoyed the burger and I loved the lamb Merguez sausage, the goat cheese inside the eggs with spinach was such a nice touch. The waitstaff was excellent but you have to walk through the general store to get to the restaurant in back...the staff at the entrance of the store was not very welcoming. Even though she was standing at the front counter the hostess (?) did not greet us, although brunch was tasty; the older members of the store staff were quite distasteful.
We had brunch here on a Monday and even then it had a good amount of people even dining outside when it was a bit brisk. We opted to eat inside. It's got a great vibe with a full bar and stools, plus a little store with a variety of gift ideas and collectibles including fun books like Colors of Napa for kids. I ordered a Burger with a sunny side up egg but they forgot the egg. They sent me two eggs on the side when I let them know the egg was missed. The side salad had a sweet Balsamic Dressing which was a tad too sweet for me. The meat was cooked medium rare as ordered. The burger was fine but nothing too special about it. My son had a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Fresh Fruit. The dish came with a good amount of freshly sliced fruit. My husband had the Huevos Rancheros which was served with two crunchy tortillas. Both of them enjoyed their food. I also had a Hard Lemonade which was very tasty and refreshing. My husband liked the Iced Tea and it was refilled without asking so he was happy about that. The service was friendly and attentive enough. It was a nice meal.
Brunch spot in downtown Napa which is dog friendly.... A major must for us! We made reservations to be seated outside and it looks like it gets pretty busy so I'm glad we did. The outdoor patio is adorable and offers plenty of shade for hot days. However, the food was meh and so unnecessarily expensive. I have no qualms paying a premium for good food but unfortunately it was super mediocre. Hubby ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered a waffle (they added strawberries for me but had no whip cream). The drinks were ok but, again... so unnecessarily expensive. Servers were kind and ambiance was nice but good food is a MUST for brunch!
The Napa General store doubles as a restaurant and a tasting room. We were staying at a nearby Inn and were able to walk over to the Napa general store for breakfast. They have a great menu selection and the food is prepared as you would expect in Napa - everything was fresh and from a scratch kitchen. And when I was done with breakfast I had the opportunity to do some shopping at the general store... That's a win-win.
Great restaurant in a cute store area. We had a reservation for our group and got seated right away. We tried several dishes and got some cocktails and bubbly as well. Servers were friendly and good service. The salmon benedict was delicious. Nicely cooked egg, flavors, and texture to the whole dish. The cornmeal pan makes were great. I loved that it was cornmeal and tasted delish. We also tried the breakfast pizza and was pretty in appearance like the other dishes and tasty. The store was also cute and we ended up buying some goods while waiting for our food.
Came here for breakfast, and I just adore the ambiance. It is located in historic downtown Napa. Inside they have a gift shop and restaurant. There is outdoor seating on the patio overlooking the Napa River. I was there after the Thanksgiving holiday, so the entire downtown area is decorated in Christmas. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly. The food was good. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that they did not have sugar-free syrup for my shortstack.
The customer service was really great when I came here with my family this past weekend. It's one of the main reasons I give this place a 5/5. I ordered their eggs Benedict and tried my family's other dishes such as their chicken and waffles as well as their French toast. The eggs on the Benedict were poached very nicely, served with well-seasoned potatoes (could've been crispier, but still tasty). The chicken and waffles were really great too, and I recommended them because the meat wasn't dry at all (they use chicken breast too!) and the waffles were very light, soft, and fluffy! I can say the same thing about their French toast too! Ambiance is very nice and located right next to the Napa River, where you can see people walking alongside the path, but the dining area is still separated by trees, so it's still semi-private without people hovering over you. I'd come back here again to try their drinks and try more of their brunch menu items. When I went here (Sunday brunch time on July 4 weekend), there was hardly a wait and we were seated promptly.
3/20/22: On our first visit to Napa, the general store was quite the let down. While we were able to get seated for breakfast, the service was incredibly slow. We ordered a Benedict and traditional breakfast plate. The food was just ok. The eggs in the Benedict so undercooked; the point that the egg whites were runny. My over hard eggs are over softish medium. The bacon and sausage were good but nothing special in my opinion. Our server was no where to be found so we couldn't even send the food back to the kitchen... The cherry on top here is that after breakfast around 11:05 we asked if we could opt in for wine tasting to which we were told "no, we don't start that until 11:30". Weird that the sign says 11 on it...
Really surprised by some negative reviews. We had a wonderful experience. Made a reservation because we were coming on a weekend. Got seated right away in nice outdoor seating. Lucked out with perfect, warm weather even in February! Food was excellent and service was professional and prompt. Definitely recommend.
Stopped in for lunch on our recent visit. Service and food were good. Located within the Napa Mill Development, it's a cozy, rustic, store/restaurant/wine tasting bar featuring riverfront patio dining, as well as indoor seating. Parking lot at the Main St. entrance, and on street parking at the 5th St. entrance. FOOD: We tried a cup of the soup of the day, Clam Chowder ($8), and their Famous Chinese Chicken Salad ($17), which was delicious. Others in our party had the Napa Caesar Salad ($15.50) with shrimp (+$8), the Chopped Chicken Salad ($21.75), and Chicken Sandwich with fries and aioli dipping sauce ($21.75). Everyone was very happy with their food. The Napa General Store was a fun stop for a nice lunch, pre-wine tasting, and a little shopping. We would visit again when in the area. read more
A fun stop to relax with casual dining. The theme is a general store, that existed in the past, wit a barn type feel. Polished concrete floors and hanging lights. They have a bar and happy hour that wasn't part of our visit today The famous Chinese cabbage chicken salad was nicely presented with excellent flavors. I found this place for brunch since we were wine tasting in Napa. We arrived early and had to wait a few minutes before seating us. The place inside is cool and the outside seating along the water was a plus. They have lots of little things to buy in the store. We ordered some beverages Mimosa, Margaritas, and Aperol Spritz. The drinks were came out quick and we're very tasty. I ordered the Heuvos Rancheros, they ordered the French Toast and chicken and waffles. The food came out really quick which was surprising. All of our dishes were cooked perfectly, the waffles were light and tasty. The French toast was fluffy and good. It was a good day with great food and good drinks. The name really gives a general store vibe which lives up to it's name and much more. As soon as I entered the store, it had a cute shopping area which has all the goodies and souvenirs for wine lovers. They have a nice wine bar on the side. Right after the shopping area ends, there's a large seating area for brunch/ breakfast lovers. The large hall opens to an outdoor patio seating which has a pleasant fountain and a big hydrangea tree. The patio faces the waterfront which is an add on to your brunch scenes. The service was quick. Food was good but nothing extraordinary. We ordered huevos rancheros and egg benedict with canadian bacon. Both food items were alright. The quantity was sufficing. We ordered a latte which was pretty good. Price range for each food item was just right, if you go by napa valley standards. Overall, it was a unique experience. I would take my friends there again. read more

This place had a typical standard American brunch. What I had an issue with is that their menu prices did not match the final bill. Everything was billed as a separate item later. We ordered chicken waffle and the menu states $26 but the bill came out 1 waffle $15, add chicken $12. I also ordered a side of short stack pancakes for my kid which was $7 on the menu and the final bill came out to be $11? The waiter said it's a system thing.... is that really my issue? Please either update your menu prices or your computer system. read more

All of my photos are for the restaurant we had already eaten but we did stumble into the shop and we're very pleased with the nice selection of interesting items both wine and non-wine related. Service here is particularly good and the people working here are especially welcoming and friendly and very helpful and pointing at interesting items. We purchased a couple of very beautiful floral print of towels and are looking forward on A future occasion to try the restaurant as the menu looks very good. read more

We came here for my husband's birthday brunch and would highly recommend it! The name of the cafe did throw us off a bit, but this is a cute restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating and a store. They also have onsite parking. The service was excellent, all the staff very friendly. My husband loved the brut they offered. We ordered the beignets, chilaquiles and vintners breakfast and everything tasted great. We weren't rushed at all, and had a great time. read more
Nice place for a late breakfast, and if the weather is beautiful you can sit outside by the river. I had the brioche French toast, which could've been soaked in egg more as the interior was kind of dry. My wife had the Paleo scramble which was delicious. read more

We made a 1:00 PM reservation for a Mother's Day brunch for a group of 20 family members today. We arrived at 12:50 PM, and the hostess and the manager, Luis, said the table was ready and seated us immediately. There was no wait. We also needed space for a motorized wheelchair, and the staff made room and moved tables around. They were helpful and accommodating. The servers were truly attentive throughout our visit. For a group as large as ours, she was quick to respond to our needs, ensuring we never had to look for her. The food was delicious. My family ordered breakfast items, which they enjoyed, and my son enjoyed their Quiche. The cheeseburger was cooked just the way I requested. If you order just one thing here, I HIGHLY recommend the Chocolate Beignets, which are PHENOMENAL, very fluffy, and tasteful. This is a great location. There is a garage with lots of handicapped spots, which is what we needed for a wheelchair. There is a very good bakery next door. Outside the restaurant, there is a fountain to take photos. Great place to sit outside, eat and enjoy the weather. As a family, we enjoyed a great Mother's Day brunch! What left a lasting impression was the manager and his staff's dedication to providing good service. Making sure their customers have a positive experience is their priority. Multiple times, the manager and staff reached out to make sure we had everything we needed, and the manager Luis even checked in at the end, even after the check was paid, to make sure we had a good experience. I'm very supportive of local small businesses and this is one I highly recommend you come visit. read more
Got some of the brunch items after walking around the area. Really pricey for what you get but was filling. Pretty standard breakfast fair and nothing too innovative. Seems like more of place for the nearby hotel patrons to get food. read more

Food was pretty tasty. I had the salmon flatbread. I loved it! If you're a fan of smoked salmon, I highly recommend it. Boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles special. We wouldn't have known about it if we didn't see it on the board. We were both huge fans of it! The reason why this gets 3 stars is because of the hostess. Since the inside portion seemed kind of crowded and loud (this is still during covid times), we asked to reserve an outside table, and asked for the waiting times. She told us it would be a 40 min wait for the outdoor table and a 20 minute wait for the inside tables. We told her that we will wait for the outdoor table. We went to a nearby bakery and I receive a phone call that our table is ready. Wow! That was fast! We head back and a different hostess leads us to an indoor table. I said "sorry, but we asked for an outdoor table." Then the first hostess comes by and says "you said you wanted an indoor table." Then I told her, "no, we said we'd wait the 40 minutes for the outdoor table." She then said again, "you said indoor. You'll have to wait longer for the outdoor table." We're waiting in the shopping/waiting area and the hostess comes over to us and says "your table is ready." Then as she was walking us to our table, she says, "did you not receive our texts about your table? We texted you twice." Such an unnecessary comment. Other than the rude lady at the front...the other hostess, waitress and waitstaff were really friendly. The food was wonderful. If it weren't for the rude hostess, I'd give this place 4.5-5 stars. read more
Loved this place for a Sunday brunch. Atmosphere was wonderful! Loved perusing through their shop and enjoying a glass of sparkling while waiting for our table! Outdoor seating with a river view was nice on this fall morning in Napa. Service was good and food was delicious. Your basic breakfast fair but the highlight of my meal was the corn meal pancakes for sure! These are so good, I dream of them and will come back just for them! read more

Wow, honestly this might have been my favorite meal out of the whole weekend... even better than the Michelin haha. I thought the horseradish Bloody Mary was great! And I ordered the Atlantic Salmon (Eggs Benedict) with added avocado (only $1 surcharge was nice)! There were wasps all around, but I guess they can't help that. Would recommend!! read more

Tourist Beware: this is not a typical "general store"....it's just a restaurant with a gift shop inside. I was excited to check it out thinking I could grab water, snacks for the road and maybe some souvenirs but I was disappointed with a very fancy gift shop and sit down restaurant...which is totally my fault because I should have researched it beforehand. read more

Hubby and I were randomly off on a Friday and in the area so we decided to have lunch here. The service here never disappoints! They are always so friendly! We both ordered the chicken sandwich which seemed to be a lunch special and it was delicious. Their sangria was a nice touch sitting outdoors on earth day. I love seeing the pups out and the outdoor flowers/roses are lovely when in bloom. read more

It's March 21, 2022 and even vaxxed and boosted people are still getting omicron, yet county restrictions are being relaxed. Are the servers currently vaccinated and, more importantly, masked?
I don’t know if they are vaccinated but they were wearing masks.

What are the new hours? seems close all the time?

Can I bring my own wine?
Yes. We do charge $15. Per bottle corkage, and will wave one corkage for each bottle you buy.
Is this place dog friendly/do they allow dogs in the patio?
YES! They have a back area and when my friends and I were there, there was a man with a huge dog. You should just call and double check but we were there last weekend and saw a dog.
Need a reservation?
Yes you do. It is very busy on the weekends. My daughter always makes a reservation .
