Old Comfort Standard antique "mall" that features items from multiple vendors and dealors located throughout the store and is located in DT Napa. Staff seemed indifferent, selection was fairly large and interesting albeit nothing special, and the prices were definitely on the higher side of what I've experienced at other antique malls; I'm sure the area doesn't help in that regard. It's still definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and love nostalgia, but just don't expect to be blown away by the selection. read more

This is a cool store for antiques - but the Vinyl Records part of the store is over-priced and mostly country/religious/folk music. If you are looking for anything disco, soul, hiphop, electronic, or 2000's and up - you are not going to find it here and should go check out some of the other stores in town. I've seen plenty of $1 records going for $10 or more here...not sure what they are thinking. If this was a review for the record shop, it would be 1 star. read more

My husband and I were wondering downtown Napa during a recent trip and decided to wander into Antiques on Second. Now I am not really the antique type of person, but short of writing a "retail" review, my husband and I found this place fun "entertainment.' A bit unassuming from the front door, but this place just seems to go on and on with so much simply to look at and see. A bit looking for the unexpected treasure and a bit simply entertained by looking into cases and on shelves that simply have so many things, we loved this store. The shelves and cases were not dusty and the store is clean and organized for having so much "stuff." The staff is readily available and the ambiance and lighting is bright and cheery. What a nice store! Be it killing time while wandering downtown Napa or an antique junkie and you love the hunt, I would absolutely encourage people to drop in. read more

Ridiculously overpriced! Refusal to haggle even five dollars. Locals do not shop here. It's strictly for ripping off tourists.

Selection wise this antique store is great. There is a lot of everything here. Take for instance toys and also clothing as well. We found a bunch of old style Pyrex. There is a bunch of little cubbyhole places to find stuff and there is a bit of everything from housewares to kitchen wares to close and everything. Make sure you check it out read more

Thrift store with department store prices... PASS!!!! The two women that were working didn't bother to greet anyone unless they obviously knew you. Very poorly laid out. Came for records because they were advertised "buy two get one free". When a Disney record that isn't even worth $10 and some others that were worn but because I guess it's Napa and they believe everything sold is dipped in gold. I found one lapel pin that I liked but was not even going to bother seeing the cost because I know it would've been more than the 1-2 I was willing to pay for it. read more

They were very nice until I paid and then immediately the woman was rude to me. It was weird. Popped back in recently and the employees alternated between acting like i didn't exist and acting like i was going to steal their Pyrex bowls. David's section at antiques on second is a must visit and regularly . David has exquisite taste and keeps his space meticulously curated and well organized . It's so easy to look through and treasure hunt . He applies great care to his selections and has many collections and precious items that you cannot find anywhere else . His prices are very fair and he also will help you find the perfect gift or decor item . I am an interior designer and look forward to shopping David's section for my clients and my own projects ! My most recent purchase in this section were a collection of handmade , vintage copper angels . Unique and beautiful and perfect for Christmas . They were supposed to be gifts but I kept them ..... shhhhh . His section is right to the left when you walk in the door . You won't regret the visit ! I'm surprised to see only two other reviews here. This store is incredible! It's packed to the gills with every type of vintage/nostalgic gewgaw you can imagine, arranged in various rooms, nooks and crannies by seller. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the merchandise. Here are just SOME of the goodies to be had: Kitchen gadgets galore; textiles; jewelry (precious and costume); clothing and accessories, with the higher-ticket items showcased in their own little room set up as an adorable "boutique"; signage, books and lots of ephemera; furniture; toys; home decor, etc. The list goes on and on. My mom and I spent at least an hour here, and we would have happily stayed longer if not for having to return our rental car. As Len Z writes, this place is a must-see. I, for one, will be making a beeline for this store next time I'm in Napa. It's an absolute gem. read more

As a local, Antiques on Second is a downtown shopping staple! I stop in often, and always find either the perfect gifts or additions for our home. Each vendor has something unique and a little different and the store offers an opportunity to explore and discover. A few items that I've added to my own collection are Daddy O's Retro Signs, Vinyl from Rebel Girl Records, Retro furniture and a large wooden serving bowl that makes the most perfect charcuterie platter. The staff are friendly and will gladly point you in the right direction so you can find exactly what you are looking for. I popped into Antiques on Second on a whim and what fun! The first thing I found was an amazing collection of Playboy magazines, stocking stuffer 1 done. Then much to my surprise there was a Kaiser Darrin replica car that I have been searching for so I snatched that up along with a super cool martini shaker and this was just at the first vendor. As I wandered through the store I found so many fun treasures, and even a vintage faux leopard coat which also came home with me. It's a great place to just wander, see what you may "need" and to chat with locals and tourists. I'll be back. read more

RUDE this place is a joke I inherited my great grandmother's dining table which is in great shape from 1938 still has tags on all chairs and wanted to donate to a store. To make sure someone would appreciate it. Called store some lady answered and as soon as I said I inherited a table she hung up. I absolutely love Antiques on Second and try to visit each time I'm in Napa. They feature quite a few sellers and part of the fun is to see how each one sets up their displays and themes. Right now, they've got a great selection of vintage Christmas ornaments that reminded me of my grandparents holiday decor. This whole shop just transports me back to a simpler time. If you're looking for antique glassware, figurines or repurposed furniture this is a great spot. There is also an entire corner dedicated to vintage clothing and accessories. Their layout makes it easy to get around and an all around pleasure to browse. This last time I nearly walked away with a 1940's emerald green tall vase which was gorgeous, but not in the budget this week. Still-it was another enjoyable visit to Antiques on Second this weekend. read more

Used to love this store, would travel hours to get here but not anymore! Not sure if they changed owners but it's terrible. There's explicit playboy magazines everywhere out in the open throughout the store, with one section having 4 walls of it. This is an antique store not an adult store. Even if they wanted to sell it, it should be in a section hidden in the back. They got rid of their wall of CDd which is unfortunate. Overall it was a disappointing experience. It's a shame that whomever the owner is (assuming it's a man given the massive stack of playboys everywhere) doesn't consider his customer experience throughout the store. What he should do is try to maximize his customer base and ensure that all his customers can have a nice and positive experience shopping. In this case no one wins. He loses customers. Customers who perhaps want to buy it don't get any discretion, and people who want to shop without seeing that are forced to leave. Terrible decision by the store. read more

After a 6 hour drive from Grants Pass, Oregon, we were excited to check out this store. We love exploring antique stores and shopping locally. Not one staff welcomed us in. This is such a cute store! Tons of antiques, with various styles. Clothes, kitchen, midcentury a bunch of brass things. Staff all wore masks and asked folks to sanitize their hands. The store was bright, clean and welcoming. And it didn't smell old, like some other antique stores, which my husband liked. Overall, I walked out with some cute pieces! read more

Had some time before going back to the hotel so stopped into see if I could find a particular antique plate that I have been collecting. This shop is well laid out and the owner is super nice. I found the plate for 10 dollars! Great find, left with a smile on my face.... The owner also has a collection of beautiful jewelry on consignment in the front in the case. She knows the story behind most of the pieces which I loved. read more

I'm an antique enthusiast. I enjoy soaking in the history of antique shops. As I walked into this establishment, I was amazed by the surmount of beautiful artifacts there was. As I do in every vintage store, I like to take my time reviewing every little detail, ensuring I don't miss a single item. I was welcomed in and the two women at the front were nice. BUT to the older gentleman I do not appreciate being watched as if I am not welcomed. I understand the necessity to be cautious when it comes to such antiquity, but that feeling of unwelcomeness and stalk-like behavior was very much unnecessary. This shop is beautiful, I purchased a couple of books. But I would have to rethink on coming here again. read more

Cute shop with tons of random stuff, e.g. I saw a vintage Italian purse which sort of looked like a train case, alligator skin, which I couldn't bring myself to buy. But it's a fun place to browse, they have records in the back and also vintage typewriters. As we were leaving the Sierra, I saw a bunch of ribbons for $4 each, which makes perfect ribbons for gift wrapping. The service was great in that there was zero pressure for buying. read more

I have a special place in my heart for Antiques on Second because here is where I purchased my favorite thing in my home. It's a huge light up BAKERY sign from a closed grocery store. I think the price on the tag was $225, but we were able to bargain it down to $150. You'll find all kinds of treasures here! Vintage cookware, greeting cards, teddy bears, toys, clothing, and random knick knacks. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and the employees are really sweet. It's not the biggest antique store, but there is plenty to see. read more

Closed on a Wednesday at noon? I am all about supporting local businesses during this crazy time. So I was obviously disappointed when I walked in today (door open, light on) and was told they were closed. The lady went to the back to ask a higher up if I could shop, only to hear no, come back tomorrow. I need a gift TODAY. I kindly explained that I was looking for a specific thing, and was not planning to browse. Nope, please go. The silver lining is the business must be doing very well currently. Most small businesses downtown I know would take a cent however it was offered. Bummer. read more

My review of every place I went to in Napa is looooong overdue (like by almost a year eeeek). But when I was out here for my anniversary with the Boyfriend this past January, Antiques on Second caught my eye and so we made a pitstop here during our wanderings of downtown Napa. Maybe I walked in on a good day. The saleswomen were polite enough to me when I had a question and I never felt as though they were judging me harshly or anything as I spent about an hour perusing through their store. Maybe it's because I ended up buying the vintage suitcase from them that I had been eyeballing the entire time I was in there? Who knows. They're a bit pricey for what they are, but I assume it's because you're in Napa and things tend to run a little more expensive in wine country. I thought the store was cute and decent enough to come back to. Hopefully my experience continues to be pleasant. read more

Antiques On Second - Cute little vintage suitcase that I purchased for just over $30! - Antiques Near Me - Napa, California

Went up on Sunday. A little outing with the family and we collect records and they were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale. Figured why not. My most favorite records have come from thrift stores so I figured this could pan out. We get there and they had just opened and the lady behind the counter was in a conversation with another woman, didn't pause her conversation to acknowledge us, ok I get it you were deep in your conversation. But once the woman left the woman behind the counter didn't come back to say hi. This is to be a small town thrift shop?? Made our way through the store and found the records. There was a lot. I was getting myself set for a lot of digging. Found two Beatles albums, a Snow White (Disneyland record label) and a peter and the wolf (Disneyland record label). Kept flipping through and saw one that caught my eye and flipped it over to see the tracks and was shocked by the price tag. So I looked at the ones I had set aside. Each Beatles record was $35 the Snow White was $15 and the Peter and the wolf was $10. I have never seen a snow who're album go for over $7-8 and that's also on grading websites. And these two the jackets weren't pristine. The Beatles were the same story the jackets were ok but a second hand record for $35. I haven't even seen a used one in a record store for $35. To say that the price is jacket up because it's Napa is bullshit. This is trying to fleece the consumer by hoping they are just awestruck with "this is Napa" crap. The rest of the store was priced way to much for the items there. A 1979's Pyrex bowls priced at $22 a piece. No thanks I'll just go to goodwill and get the same bowl for $2 dollars. And go to a record store and get a new pressing on 180gram vinyl for far cheaper. Don't waste your time here. They don't care about the customer or repeat customers for that matter. They have their status of having a shop in Napa Had to do an update in response to the response of the owner. Number one lying is a dumb business model. You say that you were in the transition to new ownership, ok, but don't lie and say you were so busy with this process that while who ever was at the counter was talking loudly about travel plans with another lady. And no one was in such a bustle and being busy that they couldn't stop their asinine conversational say hello. It was definitely not an important one. And you might not want to admit it to yourself but you are a thrift store. Calling yourself a "boutique/collectible shop" is just using buzz words to rip off tourists who come to Napa. Like I stated your records are over priced. More than those found online or in a record store. And all your items are over priced even if you are going for that you are actually a "boutique/collectible shop." Even then you store is filled for the most part garbage. It's at least half old garbage that some barn had cleared out then you slap a exorbitant price on it and say it's an antique. I know that a Corning Ware one quart bowl isn't going for $22 like you had yours priced for and the price only got higher on your Corning Ware. I have and collect Corning Ware and records, so before you say I have no clue, SHUT UP!!! And having someone track me down on Facebook to send nasty messages is really unprofessional read more

***UPDATE*** They are under new ownership and the new owners are great. I'm happy to be shopping there again. However, the dreadful previous owner, Molly, owns a shop a could doors down. Don't know the name and don't care to ever go. Save yourself the hassle and don't give her business. Interesting that other reviewers had similar experiences with that smug woman. She's dreadful and I hope she reads this. read more

I would say I'm surprised by the lack of reviews of this place (as per a previous reviewer), but downtown Napa (along this side anyway) is pretty empty. My wife and I were here during Memorial Day weekend and had a great time at Antiques on Second. The space is one floor but takes up two decently sized retail spaces. It had a good selection of all types of goods: vintage clothes, linens, tea towels, glassware, housewares and furniture. They even had a section of Asian themed goods, from calligraphy brushes to statues. Personally, I'm more interested in things like old games and toys. I found an old board game by MB called "Emergency" for $12 and they even had an old pachinko machine (be still my heart) for $75 (front plastic was cracked and not sure if the electronics worked), though I didn't pick up the latter. My wife nabbed a nice tablecloth for $32 (about 54 x 54) as well as some doilies. They even have a "sale" section in the back where items are 10% - 30% as marked. It definitely had a good mix of a little bit of everything and was definitely worth the visit. read more

This place is pretty cool. It's got a lot of space and hence has quite a bit of stuff to go through. Prices seemed reasonable for what they had and I found an awesome card catalog drawer thing that I'm going to use to put my socks in here (see pic). Staff is pretty polite too! read more
