But we had faith in the positive Yelp reviews and stepped inside. Worry not. The waitstaff was friendly and the food was delicious. Amazing Paneer tikka, one of the best I've had at any of Indian restaurants in the area. Service is always attentive and this is one of the few places that has momos. The marination in the Tikka is quite flavorful and unique, with mild, medium and spicy variations on offer. Served with the mint and tamarind chutneys, the Paneer tika is a go-to pick-me-up at the end of a long week! Highly recommend! read more

We were going to the Magic Wings conservatory when we stopped here for lunch. It was very delicious. All the items were tasty and reminded us of eateries in the mountains of North India. The spice level was just right, and the dessert was so good my son loved it. Since we went for the buffet, we could taste dal makhani, alu gobi, garlic chicken, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala, paneer jalfrezi and choley. Fabulous! I love the fact that they have really tasty take-home sauces; my favorites are the tikka-masala and the korma. And, when I got take-out and had an infant in my arms, one of the fellows working there was thoughtful enough to offer to bring my food to the car for me: small-town warmth with big-city taste! This was my first experience at Namaste and it wasn't a good one. I came in for lunch at 2:45 and wasn't greeted for a few minutes, despite the fact there was no one else in the restaurant and the staff that was there saw us. Then, when we were finally greeted, we were told that lunch was over and we had to order from the dinner menu...when the menu said lunch ended at 3 and we drove almost 30 minutes to get lunch there. When I spoke with the chef, who claimed to be the only manager, he told me that he can close lunch whenever he wants to, whether that's 2:30 or 2:45, whenever. When I pointed out that that wasn't okay for a business to do that, he barely said anything. I'm very disappointed in my experience here. The staff, aside from the two pleasant front of house employees, were very rude to us and I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I think like most locals, knowing the history of the space, we were a bit....hesitant....to go. And we were pleasantly surprised. First off, the place is clean, really clean. They've made a few minor changes to the interior that brightens, lightens and modernizes the interior. The food was excellent. The chai tea was actually chai tea and not some awful concoction of a little bit of tea flavor in a cup of liquid sugar. The sweet lassi was refreshing, very fresh, and not overly sweetened. The dishes was tasty, sized nicely for take home leftovers, and authentic. Seasonings were on point. Waitstaff were charming, attentive, and friendly without being obtrusive. Well done! We'll be back, and we're so happy to have a proper Indian restaurant to eat at. Suggestions: maybe rip up the carpet and replace with stone tiles? Or similar? And maybe interior structures to create more defined spaces within the room, so you don't feel so exposed when you sit down. And my spouse hopes you'll have a liquor license soon ;-) read more

Although the food was fine, not fantastic, just good, it was a super tiny serving with no sides - 3 small kebabs each with 4 small pieces of meat (I had goat at $13 or $14) and 3 tiny cubes of pineapple; no sauce, no sides, pretty boring overall. My pal had some type of grilled chicken with a curry dipping sauce, also just okay, nothing to write home about. The vegetable side was a huge pile of cooked onions and cauliflower, fairly tasteless, just very underwhelming. Okay so I am a very discerning diner as I mostly cook for my family rather than eating out, but I will go back to try something off the Indian menu. Don't make my mistake and order takeout ever from them- I've done this three times before, expecting them to be better but each time I've ended up hungry and disappointed. The last two times I ordered I was told by the man on the phone that i should expect a delivery in half an hour from when I placed my call. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and our food, lamb curry and lamb vindaloo, were excellent and the flavors were rich and subtle. Papadums and a couple of mild chutneys were brought while we scanned the menu. Less appealing were the dense crusts of the very small vegetable samosas; the filling was flavorful but scant. Very disappointed with my takeout order 2 nights ago. The shrimp in curry still had tails on it, and the chicken curry was a bit overcooked. The naan we ordered did not seem fresh and was not very good. Thought the quality would be much higher given the price of over $40 for two takeout dishes and one naan. read more
