This is the best place for a quick, tasty bite! My all-time favorite is the falafel pocket with everything on it, accompanied by a side of grape leaves. The veggies are fresh and delightful! The owners are wonderful people who will remember you through the years. I also love the way they twist up the pita so you can eat it while walking. "HELLO MY FRIEND" the gentlemen greeted me with an exciting and welcoming tone. This was easily one of my favorite spots to eat at Amherst, with a short walk from campus. The food was priced right, the ingredients were freshly prepared, and every bite is packed with flavor. Coming to eat here was a little indulgent for me, so I made sure to treat myself. You cannot go wrong with the combo plate. With a few slices of bread, garlic sauce, hummus, and tzatziki, I cannot think of other enjoyable culinary experiences. We ordered takeout from here and I was disappointed. The chips and baba Gannouch were very good but the chicken kabob pita was bland and had little taste- more tzatziki and oregano needed. Did not care for the baklava and what is that 3rd thing in the box that is green? Wish they had pastries and moussaka or pastitsio but I guess with the name pocket it implies that although they do have platters and there should be an alternative for those of us that don't like lentils. Hole in the wall place in this nice little town. Should surely be a hit with the University crowd. Got the chicken and falafel plates, which were quite filling, and baklava, which seemed appropriately sweet and well flavored. The plates come with lentil rice, which is richer and adds a nice touch over plain rice. The chicken kabab was juicy and nicely charred without any stringy bits while the felafel, shaped like donuts, were crisp and fresh. Everything here tastes so fresh. The falafel is excellent - not at all dry but really tasty. I had the veggie combo pocket and it was tasty to the last bite. The chicken and gyro also really good. Case in point: I went in for my first time, ordered some food, and then two weeks later came back for my second time and he immediately says, "Hello my friend. Chicken pita, right?" I wanted to try something different, the combo plate. Third time I showed up he asked if I wanted to go back to the chicken pita or have the combo plate and then says, "No. Actually, can I recommend something for you instead?" . . . and based on what I had most liked the first two times he had me trying other new foods. Great little place off the side of the street in Amherst! It smelled so good while we were waiting and by the time we got our food we were so hungry we didn't even think to take pics :). I got the Mediterranean plate, which was a Greek salad with falafel and stuffed grape leaves. My mom got the falafel wrap. It was all delicious!! The falafel were very crispy but still moist inside, and even though I had never had the grape leaves before i was very impressed! 10/10 Love the clear labeling of vegan options on the menu, and the prices were amazing too especially for the area and being in a college town. The workers were very nice efficient also, despite there being somewhat of a crowd waiting when we arrived we still got our order quickly :). read more

Young man at counter was so rude. My 3 friends and I walked out. He told me to hurry up and order he was busy. I asked what comes with pita pocket and platter.
