Found this place on Yelp while we were driving through I91. Honestly there aren't many veg friendly restaurants near by, let alone any Indian options. So when I found a dosa place in the middle of Vermont that too with such good reviews, I was happy. Being able to sit under the shade on a sunny day was comforting. They have only dosa options and a few rice/ curry options on the menu. But that's all we need when we are hungry and tired. Dosa and chutneys tasted delicious and the owners of the place were too kind and friendly. All in all, I will surely be back when I drive through the area. The dosa and chutney was delicious. We were visiting family near by and my husband now wants to stop at this food truck every time we are there. Their set up with the school is really nice - so you can use a real bathroom and they have some items for sale and a table inside too. As well as a really nice atmosphere outside around the truck with shade and picnic tables. We'll be back. read more

They were rolling up the carpet when we arrived shortly before closing time, but they made us feel welcome and took good care of us. The food was delicious! They are closed for the season, but we caught them on their last day in October and the food was extremely satisfying. It is cooked-to-order and the lines can get long, so be prepared to wait. Luckily, it's right by the Grafton Village store and a nice lake, so you can wander around while you await your delicious dosa. read more

Every summer we visit Brattleboro and look forward to our meals at Dosa Kitchen. The food is phenomenal. It feels like we're on a trip to southern India, eating the best "street food" they have to offer. The owners and chefs, Leda and Nash, obviously take great pride in their food. Hands down the best dosa I have ever had. I am a big fan of southern Indian and could not believe my eyes when I "yelped" lunch spots when leaving Woodstock Vermont. Dosa Kitchen showed up and after having a "farm to table weekend" I was more than ready for a little curry in a hurry from this inviting food truck behind a school in a very off the beaten path neighborhood. Everything we had while in Vermont included maple syrup or cheddar cheese so a dosa was a welcome respite. The woman who I am guessing is an owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The coconut chutney, sambar and masala dosa were among the best if not the best dosa I have ever had. If I could give this place 100 stars I would. Eating here is an absolute must. The owners are incredibly kind and I really enjoyed talking with them. I forgot to take photos because I drove right in the food because it was soooo good. We got the Mysore Masala Dosa and it was perfect. All their food is packed with so much flavor. Where do I start? Me and my wife were amazed to find out a south Indian food truck when we actually stopped for a rest stop at the Grafton Village center. The owner was very friendly and we had a very great chat about the different Dosas and his journey about how he started this truck. While I love Grafton cheese, I cannot fathom the idea of adding it to Dosa. So, we stuck to the traditional Masala dosas. And the best part about the meal is we found a new vegetable called Fiddlehead Fern. The chef made an amazing avial (boiled vegetables in a curry) out of it. Our dumb luck: we came for a night to Brattleboro and stumbled upon their burgeoning food-truck festival at the Retreat's farm. There was a lot of other delicious-looking offerings, but we were on a mission. Had never heard of this south-Indian street-food speciality until the owners were interviewed on local public radio. Charming folks. But the food. THE FOOD. Every element was simply smashingly delicious: chicken, kale, curries, and the actual Dosa. Chef Patel moves fast but carefully and the results are incredible. Leda Scheintraub--a remarkably accomplished cookbook author and consultant--was funny, warm and generous, chatting with us as we savored their fare. Stayed in Brattleboro for the weekend, and checked out this food truck on Sunday. Arrived just after they opened, and with only one order in front of ours. Customer service left a lot to be desired, Mango Lassi was extraordinary while we waited for our food. Ordered the Crunchy Falafel and Dosa Dog. We ordered them spicy. Needless to say, the dosa itself was flavorful- The actual wraps were dry, bland, and needed more chutney or lettuce and yogurt. According to the menu you pick your side (which apparently is on the wrap) yet we did not see or taste either. When we asked we were plainly told it was on there- No further inquiry on the woman's part who served us. Overall the customer service and the food left a lot to be desired. read more

Authentic Dosa in rural VT - and this is from a South Indian who has seen a good Dosa or two or a few. This Dosa (Mysore masala) was crisp, the potato filling well done and the masala level just right. The accompanying chutney and sambar (particularly the latter) was very good. All of this before we get to the fairly unique setting (one among a few carts in a pro next to a cheese place). The play on flavors with Mexican and Chinese influences was a nice twist also for those inclined to try something off beat. Outdoor seating in a tent setting on a beatific summer day was a bonus. Having grown up on dosa breakfasts like it was cereal, I'm usually very picky. It's hard to find good dosas or even good dosa batter and this place does them really well. The dosas were very authentic and similar to what I would make at home. The only other places with this quality of dosas are in nyc or the west coast.. combined with how lovely in general the retreat farms/Brattleboro VT area is, it is a must try! As a South Indian who grew up in the middle east - dosas and falafels have been an everyday affair. Having the masala dosa and falafel dosa at Dosa Kitchen today reminded me of home. The dosa batter, the nutty flavor of the green chutney, the sublime potato masala and the falafels were authentic and on point to say the least. So glad someone decided to keep the recipes true to homestyle cooking seen in a south indian household but also give you innovative options like kimchi, maple syrup and breakfast egg dosa options. Fast service, generous portion sizes. It was a first for all of us- we got the Family dosa meal. The dosa was soft with bits of crisp, and was perfectly tangy. My kids were obsessed with it and they've never had lentils before. My seven year old begged for a return trip (we're 45 minutes away). We were all well-fed and happy! This is one of our favorite places to eat, period. They have delicious food made with local ingredients, both vegan and meat options, and dosas are naturally gluten-free. Everything they serve is tasty and there's a nice variety - we're partial to the Dosa dog (beef hot dog wrapped in a dosa with cheese, hot sauce & kraut), the breakfast Dosa, and the vegan curry or Masala Dosa (as either a wrap or a plate).
