The staff were excellent and very nice. She immediately brought a carafe of ice-cold water. The food was excellent. We had vegetable samoras to start accompanied by three sauces. Both portions were large enough to require take home containers. The naan was fine. We could not manage dessert!

The owner, Stephen is very very approachable, friendly and made us feel right at home. It felt like we were chatting and eating at home with family. Food 5/5 - very pleasantly surprised. Generally Indian food in restaurants is very spicy and greasy but that's not how we cook at home. The food served here was neither spicy nor greasy. It felt nice and cozy; flavors were authentic and fresh. We tried all deserts on the menu; complimentary on the house by Stephen. My parents were visiting me from India, and having this restaurant near rural Vermont & suburbs of Massachusetts made them feel right at home Ambiance 5/5: Nice, cozy and casual. So this cat behind the counter starts talking up the Indian stuff which I like and throws some sorta spicy chicken thing at me in a red sauce w some rice and fresh naan. Friggin' good! Spicy, chicken cooked really well, naan was awesome. Atmosphere it ain't and there's some funky Indian version of mtv on the tube (or maybe a dance off?). Eh. I guess it adds to the charm. But def check it out. You can tell the cat running the joint is proud of his food.

Stopped in for a quick dinner after seeing The Tempest at Shakespeare & Co.: with a 2.5 hour drive…read moreback to Boston ahead of us, we didn't want to take forever for a table service place, and we didn't want slices of pizza or some horrible Mass Pike food. This fit the bill nicely. First the good stuff: the samosa was out of this world, and the mint chutney it was served with was amazing. (the onion chutney was good too, but the mint was the best I've ever had, and I eat a lot of Indian food.) The saag and naan were also delicious. My daughter had the chickpeas--same. All great stuff. What's more, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now, the less good stuff: the rice was soggy, watery, and inedible. They had a bunch of saag that they used with both paneer and chicken, which is smart, but they added paneer to my saag without heating it up, so I had hot saag with cold paneer. It tasted good, but come on. I felt like it was a little bit pricey for a cafeteria-style place: 12.99 for appetizer, entree, rice or naan and a drink, BUT, an extra buck if you want a samosa for your appetizer (and why wouldn't you? You gonna settle for some pakora when there are delicious samosas available?) We paid extra to get both naan and rice, but in the future, I'd just skip the rice. Thirty bucks for me and my daughter, which just felt a little steep for a place with no table service. So: some hiccups that you might expect in a new-ish place, but the flavors were great and they didn't just dump a ton of cream into everything like a lot of Indian places do, so the food was lighter than expected and the flavors of the non-cream ingredients were able to shine through a little more. Bottom line: the non-rice food was good enough that I'd give it another chance despite the problems, especially because the staff was so incredibly nice.

Not only are they apps but they serve as amazing flavors to add to every bite throughout the meal. Grape leaves, hummus, tatziki, spiced feta, ... and more with amazing pita. Last week we both had the gyros hers with "fries" mine with salad. The fries were a thick kitchen-made chip with some crispy and some tender. Amazing. The salad was so fresh we wondered where they were getting their produce! The lamb gyro was exactly that special flavor you have been chasing with lettuce, fresh tomato, tatziki and a warm pita. Try it with the spicy feta from the apps or the hummus! Tonight we tried the baked feta and tomatoes as a hot app with the hummus, grape leaves and tatziki 3 way sampler. Dynamite! I had the spanakopita and rice, Red had the Moussaka. She called it Greek lasagna, but it was so much more. Layered meat and a thick yet creamy béchamel with potatoes and thin eggplant. Greek savory ambrosia. Please, save room for dessert. , please. Last week while we waited for them to box up some take home baklava, we ordered a custard with philo dough. Sinful. The only sin for which you goto heaven. Tonight it was a chocolate cream-mousse cake with whipped cream and a thin milk chocolate topp while we waited for the take-home baklava. And a Hennessy for me while Red had a dessert wine, muscado. I am confused as to why there is not a line out the door. The salad that came with it was delicious -- I actually enjoyed it more than my pasta! Overall: A warm welcome and some good dishes, but the bland pasta and inattentive service made this a mixed experience.

Short review: if you like food with flavor, don't waste your money here…read more Long review: There are many lessons in this review. I came here because I was starving and google reviews gave it 4.3 star reviews and it was right before their 3pm closure.... I'm never trusting google reviews again. This was my first and last time doing that. So lesson #1 don't always trust google reviews. Lesson #2 don't decide on a place to eat while you're starving, esp because you are trying to catch them before they close. If this was my first time trying mediterranean food I would be turn off of this cuisine forever. I was very disappointed with the food here. The only chips they had were kettled cooked potato chips you can buy in any convenience store. If I asked for chips in a mediterranean restaurant the I would expect the answer to be pita chips NOT kettle cooked potato chips. The falafel appetiser was more like baked puff balls. Inside was moist. Wasn't till we got the bill we noticed it had spinach in it which is not a traditional ingredient. I went with the lamb burger because the waiter said it's a popular ordered item. It was the blandest lamb burger I've ever had, the sauce that it comes with was the only thing saving it but barely. The bread was dry. The sweet potato wedges looked liked they were steamed or boiled? I'm not even sure, no salt, I was expecting baked or fried wedges. So lesson #3 is just because it's a popular order doesn't mean it's actually good. I highly doubt a returning costumer orders this a second time. The house salad was drenched in dressing, couldn't finish it (doesn't appear so in the photos but it was too much once mixed around) Service was ok, needs some work. Ambience was nice.
