Authentic Indian restaurant on the shores of Laurel Lake in Lee MA. Very nice ambience, excellent service and food was delicious. Nice lake views. The rack of lamb was delicious.

The incredible food includes an appetizer of crispy eggplant... delicious!

Can Indian food in the Berkshires really be as good as so many of the reviews proclaim? Can a restaurant that is open on Mondays in the Berkshires be worth eating at? We had to find out so off to Mint to experience it for ourselves. I am happy to say that we were very impressed! The menu is varied and the food is really, really good. Excellent! Incredible! I am not one to say the best ever as there are just too many good restaurants around the globe to ever really know, but this is wonderful food. To say that the staff is welcoming does not really describe just how friendly and considerate everyone is. Could I just have come on an unusual day and will they become like the rest of the people in the world another time? I don't know but I will find out. We come to the area a couple of times a year and usually want to try new places. The Mint will become one of the very few places we will visit regularly! People have mentioned the portions are larger than expected and the prices lower than expected. We we ordered a normal amount of dishes and had enough leftovers to eat another meal! And the bill was barely more than a couple of appetizers in one of the fancy joints in town! It could be a challenge to find since it is part of what looks like a very nice roadside hotel on the small lake. But let the GPS be your guide and you will soon be enjoying Mint too!

What a treat to find in the middle of nowhere! The restaurant is located inside a hotel over a mile from downtown Lee. Its really lakeside dining, you'll get a nice view from anywhere you seat. The server was personable and the food came out quickly. Great quality food, big portion and very reasonably priced. I had the lunch palak paneer (spinach cream sauce with indian cheese), very well seasoned. It came with a large portion of basmati rice and plain naan. Together with a nice cup masala chai it came to $20. A definite stop if you are in the area.

The image shows a blue plate containing rice, naan bread, and a curry dish with orange sauce. In the background, there are two bowls of Indian dishes, one with a greenish curry and the other with an orange curry, along with a person eating at the table. The setting appears to be a restaurant with a white tablecloth.

Wow, fantastic place, I live in the SF Bay Area where there is a huge Indian community. I have eaten in many great Indian restaurants, Mint, though small is mighty, romantic, and a beautiful place to eat. The typical dishes, such as chicken, tikka masala, and Palak Paneer were made with great artistry and flavor if you want enjoyable evening by a lake, great food, great service. This is the place.

Taj mahal beer - A bottle of Taj Mahal premium lager beer is positioned on a white tablecloth, with two glasses of beer filled with a golden liquid and foam. The background shows a window and part of a person wearing a dark jacket. The setting appears to be a restaurant or dining area with a casual atmosphere.

I brought my Indian in-laws on vacation and we chose this location and hotel specifically because there was an Indian restaurant. And amazingly, it met everyone's needs. They were happy with the food, and there were dishes that weren't made with tomato and adjusted spice levels, so I could actually eat. Me (and several other white ladies who were not in our party) were very excited about the rosemary naan. The lakeside view is lovely. The inside of the restaurant is nice too. We ate three meals there and enjoyed all of them. Great service and friendly service. Fully recommend this restaurant. Made taking my in laws on a trip much easier!

Bagari Jhinga and Chicken Aam Wala - The image shows a table set with Indian food, including a black plate with rice topped with curry and a piece of naan bread. There is a white bowl of shredded cheese, a bowl of curry, and additional plates with rice and curry in the background. Drinks include a glass of white wine, a glass of water, and a glass of dark soda. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment.

We stayed at the Inn that houses Mint and came down for a drink by the lake. The smell of the food was so good, that we knew we needed to eat dinner here the next night. First, the entire staff is very welcoming and friendly. They have a wonderful view of the lake, and you can eat inside or outside. The food was spectacular. Everything from the naan (rosemary naan was out of this world) to the entrees were delicious and flavorful. Mint also has a good beer and wine selection. If we didn't live 3.5 hours away, we would be regulars at Mint.

A basket lined with paper holds Indian flatbreads, including naan and stuffed paratha, which are golden-brown and slightly charred. The naan appears soft with a crispy exterior, while the paratha is thicker and flaky. A side dish, possibly curry or sauce, is partially visible on the right side of the image. The setting suggests a casual dining experience at an Indian restaurant or eatery.

Big fan of the markings indicating meals that match dietary preferences/restrictions and loved the variety of dairy-free options! Kashmiri Brussels Chaat - The brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly, coated in a sweet, slightly tangy sauce & glaze, balanced perfectly by the crunch of the sev. The sauce was rich without being heavy, and the chili added just the right amount of heat. It was a great way to start the meal, and the few bites we saved paired wonderfully with the entrees that followed. Mango Curry with Chicken - The pieces of chicken were tender and the sauce balanced the mango's tart-sweetness with fresh vegetables. I wish there had been a few more pieces of mango but the portion as a whole was plentiful. The dish was comforting yet complex, making it an easy favorite. *Spice level 1 Paneer Tikka Masala - Ordered at spice level 5, this dish delivered a noticeable kick without overpowering the dish's depth of flavor. Unlike similar gravies elsewhere, where the tomato sometimes tastes undercooked, this sauce was perfectly simmered--rich, smooth, and just "tomato-y" enough. It paired beautifully with both the complimentary rice and the naan. Salmon Coconut Curry - This dish was equally impressive, with salmon cooked to ideal tenderness and a creamy, well-balanced coconut curry that enhanced rather than masked the fish. Saag with Lamb - This dish featured lamb in a deeply flavorful, well-seasoned spinach-based sauce that felt hearty and comforting without being heavy. Ordered at spice level 2 but may try at a 3 next time. Overall, such a great experience and excited to come back the next time I'm in town from Boston.

At 1st I was a bit put out. Sign did deli/burgers/Indian. But it's mostly burgers and Indian. So this cat behind the counter starts talking up the Indian stuff which I like and throws some sorta spicy chicken thing at me in a red sauce w some rice and fresh naan. Friggin' good! Spicy, chicken cooked really well, naan was awesome. Atmosphere it ain't and there's some funky Indian version of mtv on the tube (or maybe a dance off?). Eh. I guess it adds to the charm. But def check it out. You can tell the cat running the joint is proud of his food.

This fit the bill nicely. First the good stuff: the samosa was out of this world, and the mint chutney it was served with was amazing. (the onion chutney was good too, but the mint was the best I've ever had, and I eat a lot of Indian food.) The saag and naan were also delicious. My daughter had the chickpeas--same. All great stuff. What's more, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now, the less good stuff: the rice was soggy, watery, and inedible. They had a bunch of saag that they used with both paneer and chicken, which is smart, but they added paneer to my saag without heating it up, so I had hot saag with cold paneer. It tasted good, but come on. I felt like it was a little bit pricey for a cafeteria-style place: 12.99 for appetizer, entree, rice or naan and a drink, BUT, an extra buck if you want a samosa for your appetizer (and why wouldn't you? You gonna settle for some pakora when there are delicious samosas available?) We paid extra to get both naan and rice, but in the future, I'd just skip the rice. Thirty bucks for me and my daughter, which just felt a little steep for a place with no table service. So: some hiccups that you might expect in a new-ish place, but the flavors were great and they didn't just dump a ton of cream into everything like a lot of Indian places do, so the food was lighter than expected and the flavors of the non-cream ingredients were able to shine through a little more. Bottom line: the non-rice food was good enough that I'd give it another chance despite the problems, especially because the staff was so incredibly nice.
