Decent vegetarian/vegan options! I did find the food itself to be bland, but the sauces help. My favorite sauce is "sweet heat". It adds a delicious sweet and spicy flavor to the meals. The ladies behind the counter are really sweet and patient, and the service was pretty quick. I like how clean and healthy the ingredients taste. I got the sushi bowl during my first visit. It was good! During my second visit, I got the vegan BLT, which I didn't like since the bread was too hard and the fillings were lacking in quantity. I love that they have fresh made to order juices in 12oz and 16oz sizes for a very reasonable price! But I have to knock a star or two off for using a centrifugal juicer instead of a good quality slow juicer that does higher quality cold press juices. Been here about a dozen times but I almost never remembered to review it. This place is a great vegan, healthy option if you're not feeling Sweetgreen at the time and it's also about the same price too. This time I decided to grab the sushi bowl (what I typically get) when coming here. It's crazy how they can make this bowl taste the way it does. You definitely don't miss the fish in this bowl (pun?) and the tofu and avocado get the job done. I usually feel full after I order this but sometimes I add their great $2 muffins if they're available (specifically the chocolate banana). Other stuff I recommend are the Jammed Yam (I think that's the name) and the black bean burger. You can also check out the specials board because they sometimes have stuff like tacos or crab cakes. I just found my new favorite lunch spot! Located inside Mom's Organic Market, Naked Lunch is a small lunch/bar station that whips up healthy, fresh, and ALL ORGANIC steam bowls, vegan burgers, and juices. The steam bowls are $7.75 for one base and 5 toppings. If you order their bowl specials, there are more than 5 toppings in the bowl. This was my first trip here and I had the Lin Bowl. The service was a little slow, granted everything is made fresh to order, so I was more than happy to wait. Although the Lin Bowl comes with brown rice, they had no problem switching the brown rice for kale per my request. Lin Bowl ingredients: tofu, pea shoots, dried seaweed, zucchini, mushroom, sunflower oil, kimchi, and a lemon/lime wedge. Everything was SOOOOO fresh since it's organic. I even ate the entire lemon wedge (the skin was peeled off). I will come back to try their Yam Jam and pretty much everything else on their menu. Will definitely be updating. read more

Love! Healthy, fresh, vegetarian/ vegan and organic. This is my goto place for lunch or dinner or for just a veggie juice. Choose your own veggie juice, with a base of carrot, orange or apple. Or you can skip those and make it all green - $6 for a 16 oz/ Large size. Create your own salads or rice or steam bowls - $7.75. They have a variety of greens, vegetables raw and cooked, tofu and tempeh and some beans and grains. They also have bowl specials. I like the Lin bowl, and they used to have the Peruvian bowl on their menu board (avocado, black beans, brown rice). They also have sandwiches. My old favorite is the Fakin' Bacon (tempeh with sauteed apples, brie cheese and vegenaise). They do update their items once in awhile - I saw a "crabcake sandwich" on their board. I think the price is on the high side (though their juices are fair and worth it and there's not a lot of fresh organic juicers in town), but ultimately I'm just happy there is one place (another Naked lunch in Rockville) like this that exists. read more

I just sort of stumbled on this place after a long day of shopping in the mosaic district. It is located right inside mom's grocery store, to the left when you first enter. I ordered a black bean burger, which comes with a side salad and dressing, and a pink lady kombucha drink. The employees were all very nice despite the lunch rush. When my burger arrived, i couldn't believe how tasty it was! I was a vegetarian once before and I don't ever recall having a black bean burger that was perfectly put together, without falling apart. Burroughs, so this little cafe lunch counter deal tucked away in a shopping plaza market ROCKED my WORLD. We were in Mclean for the morning, attending the "celebration of life" of a dead friend. Yes, awful reason to be in the area, definitely looking for some comfort food that afternoon, my husband searched Happy Cow for a place we could get some vegan eats, and Naked Lunch popped up. All I needed to hear was the name and it was like "lez go." ... Food expectation-wise, I was too distracted by the name to care. So we get there and the place is amazing. MOMS, (MOMs Organic Market), is a big beautiful welcoming store with wall-to-wall natural environmentally-sound health food & products. Staff members are friendly and eager to assist. They even give you a free reusable bag on your first visit. In the corner of MOMS sits Naked Lunch. We got giddy when we saw all the vegan menu options. I settled on cauliflower tacos and my husband got a sushi bowl. It was a beautiful day and we walked to the courtyard across the block that is all set up for picnic dining. When we started eating, neither of us could speak. This food is beyond delicious. It is fresh. It is organic. It is INCREDIBLE. It's the kind of meal that makes you rethink the way you've been doing lunch up until this point. Like, oh wow such simple ingredients can be this good!? The only thing I'd change is the lack of Naked Lunch tee shirts available for public sale as I would absolutely buy one if I could. I've been to this location and the Herndon one as well. I've only tried 2 bowls - the Moler bowl and the Jammed Yam. Both were delicious and I patted myself on the back for the healthy choice. The portions are plenty and left me feeling satisfied. At about $10 a bowl, it's not a bad choice for lunch. They have many other options such as fresh juices, smoothies, and create your own bowls. There was also a specials menu on the right hand side on a chalk board, I think they rotate out those items so that's pretty cool. I will say that the Jammed Yam is quite spicy! It has jalapeno lime dressing and the woman who made mine put plentyyyy. Next time, I will ask them to substitute that dressing with the chimichurri. read more

I drove from Washington, DC to Fairfax, VA to get a meal at this location. I have diet restrictions and drove here to accommodate my restrictions. Upon arrival at 7:22pm, I was refused service and informed that they would not prepare my meal because they had closed down the salad bar. This location closes at 8pm, why advertise that you're open only to close well before you actually do? I was told by the store manager that the salad bar was having mechanical issues, a completely different reason from what the employees told me. This place is inside Mom's Organic place. I brought my boys: The black bean burger (they didn't eat it because I sadly ate it lol). Hey!! Don't judge me. They weren't going to eat it anyways. I made them PB&J. I had the sushi bowl. I seen the guy making it and wonder who ordered the other half. Nope! That monster was all mine. This bowl is so good(if you like sushi ) it taste just like sushi... Like just like sushi. My meal for both was 20.46... Twenty dollars and some changes. As the name may tell you, this is not a quick eats/grab 'n go place for meat lovers. In fact, this is probably not a place for anyone who has an aversion to all things that boldly declare "I'm healthy!" Naked Lunch definitely caters to the more health-conscious, vegetable-loving set. As usual, people probably assume that Naked Lunch, as with some other businesses, sacrifices flavor for health benefits. Not at all. We sampled the black bean burger and a brown rice bowl garnished with kimchee and topped with shitake mushrooms and tofu. The black bean burger is a burger in the loosest sense of the word because they don't even really form the black beans into a patty. Here, the beans are lightly cooked then smushed between two pieces of toasted flatbread, after being topped with fresh guacamole. The result? Pretty tasty and refreshing. Oh, this meal also comes with pretzels, which is almost...retro (not sure why I think so, but it was a nice addition). I opted to not get cheese with my burger, but I think the black bean burger would be even better with some cheeeeeeeeeese. As for the rice bowl, Tom N thought it might replace Chipotle's rice bowl for me. Not quite, but I enjoyed it a lot, too. (Nothing can beat a Chipotle veggie burrito bowl!) The kimchee gave the mildly seasoned brown rice a nice little hit of spiciness and sour flavor, and the bits of shitake mushroom scattered throughout along with the fried bits of tofu infused the simple and light dish with a delicate, umami quality. These dishes weren't absolutely amazing, but they were still good and make me feel good about myself after eating. The prices are okay, an average of eight bucks after tax. I must say, the black bean burger, I feel, is a bit pricey for what it really is. The rice bowl is much more affordable considering the quality and the ingredients involved. The biggest reasons to try Naked Lunch are to support the movement towards a healthier lifestyle and to enjoy the obviously very fresh ingredients. Also, if you're a fan of Kennedy's Natural Foods, now known as Nourish Market, you'll love this eatery. Next time around, I'm getting the cauliflower steak! read more

I ordered the steamed bowl with the barely mix as my based (a little quiona and black beans) and for my toppings I got the bell peppers mix, kale, avocado and I can't think of the other two items. For my dressing I got the chimichurri! I was pleasantly surprised how tasty my steam bowl was! The chimichurri sauce was delightfully tasty. I should have gotten some limes or lemon wedges to give it a little bit more of a zesty and tangy taste to it and that's my only gripe. Great place to get a healthy lunch/dinner for a decent price. I've only tried two of the dishes: the Cauliflower Steak and the Confetti Bowl. Both were great! Cauliflower steak - I get bored halfway through but it's because I'm getting full -.- One thing that's hard about this dish is that the amount of cauliflower they give you changes depending on the size of the cauliflower...so sometimes you get a huge chunk (yay!) and sometimes you get a really small sliver and it doesn't seem worth the price. So take a look at their cauliflower (pretty cool you can see all the food you're getting) before you buy this. Confetti bowl - So yummy! A bit spicy depending on who made the jalapeno lime dressing (I don't like much spice). I also ask for the jalapenos on the side and add in depending on how spicy the dressing is that day. read more

I come here every Saturday for a Molerbowl, a muffin (the Pina colada chocolate is amazing) and a large kombucha and ocassionally try one of the other options of the menu, There are a couple reasons I don't give it the full 5 stats . 1. If you come at opening time like I do sometimes there is no siriacha and you have to ask the cashier to bring it out 2. I'f you order tacos with corn tortillas steaming it is not enough as they end up breaking (tortillas should be heated on a plank) 3. Depending who makes your bowl the flavour may vary a lot, my guess is that some servers add more vinagraitte than others or put more love into it I don't know read more

I discovered this place on a trip to the DC area. Thrilled to find a vegetarian/vegan takeout meal option with so much delicious variety! I loved the Jammed Yam so much I ordered another to take back home with me the next day, plus a Breeze Bowl for dinner. The portions are pretty huge, and some of them are high in calories and fat (albeit much of it "good" fat such as from avocado). My solution is to eat half and save half. First of all, the staff is excellent. This is my go-to spot when I haven't had time to prepare my meals. From the juices to the bowls, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. I personally like the Lin and Crowder bowls but I often build my own steamed bowl. I especially love their juices, $6 for a large juice and all that health. I'm not a vegetarian. Definitely a meat eater. But I'm trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat generally, which means I will look to eat vegetarian more often these days. And I do like the organic & healthy part as well. Have been hearing good things about "Naked Lunch" @ Mom's Organic so I thought I would give it a go. I went with the Lin Bowl (Asian flare with kimchi - yum!) and the Green Tea Glow raw juice. The service was a little on the slow side. There were only a few people ahead of me and there were 2-3 people serving. I went in around 1:30pm so it was not crowded at all. Luckily I was not in a hurry so it was ok. Somehow I had imagined the flavours to pack more punch so I was a little underwhelmed with the first few bites. But then it sort of grew on me the more I ate. It seemed like quite a lot of food, but that seems to be the way with most vegetarian meals. Without the meat you have to eat more in terms of volume to fill up. There were quite a lot of hard bits of brown rice going through the bowl that made it a little hard to chew. The juice was really good; though I got the small size and probably would have liked a bit more. It was pretty small. I will definitely come back and try more stuff. There's not a lot of seating space. Just a long bar with some stools (less than 10 seats for sure). If you came during height of lunch hour you might not find a seat. read more
