Burrito

This place was great, I went with a group of friends and we were all impressed with this place. The waitress and rest of the serving staff were great and attentive. The place was pretty busy but the service was quick. The food and the drinks were great and each latte/hot beverage comes with a cute design on top.

BACON AVOCADO TOAST
Katherine S.

This place serves mediocre, flavorless food, but at least you feel healthy. Food: 2/5 Visually, the food looks great! But some things are dry, and you can really taste the carbs. We ordered the Bacon Avocado Toast and the Steak Medallion Tacos. The avocado was not ripe but edible. The steak and rosemary potatoes were dry. The toast slice is so thick that I couldn't bite and I could taste nothing but bread. The taco tortilla dominates all other flavors. It's not the worst place I've ever eaten at, but I wouldn't come back here for the food. Service: 4/5 Our server was very friendly and attentive! We were checked on a reasonable amount of times. Modifications are welcomed and honored. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 There is a cute patio area behind the restaurant. There is a chance the sun will high beam your table outside, and the staff are unable to move the umbrellas to cover you. The bathroom and restaurant are clean. I would recommend this place to vegans and health conscious people who eat to live instead of live to eat. Final Rating: 3.16/5 (rounding down to 3 on Yelp)

Salsa - delicious. Not the chunky style btw.
Steve Z.

5+ stars for their house made salsa! The food is great and healthy with low/lowish calorie options, but the salsa that comes with most entrees is amazing and worth it alone. Staff is friendly and great service too. Be sure to sit in outdoor area in the back which is very pleasant and surrounded by tall trees -- nicer with a shady spot, or one with good table umbrella coverage. By the way, you can buy a 12 oz container of salsa if they have enough for around $8. Best to check after their lunch crowd. ---------------------- NOTE: This review is entirely my own and written solely at my own initiative. Yin & Yang Bowl

Yum!! I don't know how I JUST came across Naked Cafe in Encinitas - I have been missing out! Great selection of breakfast/brunch items and a fun coffee/tea menu. The inside is cute too and staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the Yin & Yang bowl + the Bacon Avocado toast with potatoes and both were an A+. I enjoyed them both but would happily branch out to try something else since so many other menu items looked good. Definitely worth a visit when in Encinitas. The location is unassuming but in a popular strip mall. Parking is easy and it wasn't busy when I visited on a weekday morning. Food was ready quickly and they happily accommodated a couple special requests we had. Will return when in the area!

When I lived here in Cardiff and Encinitas, I used to eat here all the time. I wish there was one in Seal Beach or Long Beach! And when I lived in Hawaii, that's where it definitely is needed! It has always been a place where I would come to eat clean and healthy food. Fresh ingredients, tasty, great combinations. Who would've thought brown rice and veggies could ever make a great combo as a meal that you would pay for lol however, their sauces and mixtures and flavors really make their entrées so tasty... To the point that I always crave eating here. Flash forward, I'm in town visiting and as always, I stop in to order my favorite meal, the Dual Goddess, of course with extra peanut sauce on the side. It has zucchinis, brown rice, broccoli, carrots, and then small bite-sized (Note I said bite-size not big chunks) of ginger marinated steak and chicken. Dishes like these tend to have their protein cut so that you have to use a knife to cut them into smaller pieces... Not here! The flavors are so good and then add the peanut sauce... Chef's kiss! The cherry on top of my experience is the service. My server, Brittney, was so warm, friendly, and welcoming. She had a few tables ahead of me but acknowledged my presence so that I knew she would be with me when she had a chance. She was very accommodating and helpful in her recommendations... I ordered the pistachio latte, one of their summer specials, 10 out of 10! I ordered it hot. It was so delicious and they added a little sprinkle of Matcha on top. I am not a Matcha fan... At least not an entire cup of it. But sprinkled on top was perfect. It brought out the pistachio flavor yet offset it so it wasn't too heavy on pistachio! Everything was fabulous... Even down to the food runner, Reese. He was so friendly and efficient... This place is a 10 out of 10 and I will continue to come back and support this local business. If we had one in Seal Beach or Long Beach, I would be there every day... And I would be broke lol !

The most amazing slice of homemade pumpkin chocolate loaf. Thanks Sophie!

A locals favorite serving healthy and environmentally conscious breakfast, lunch, and handcrafted beverages. I found myself in this plaza and just needed an afternoon pick me up so I treated myself to a naked matcha latte. This drink ended up being one of the best matchas I've ever had and I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful palm tree latte art that was made out of cinnamon. My server was Sophie and everyone dining that day knows her. Clearly a favorite with all the locals. She brought me over a slice of their chocolate pumpkin loaf and said it was on the house. So sweet! I took it with me and enjoyed it at the beach later that day and again it ended up being one of the best loafs I've ever tried. Very moist, flavorful, and super chocolaty. Thank you so much Sophie and can't wait to see you again and this time dine-in.

The patio is such a find! Around the back, it's perfect for pups, kids, solo reading and groups. I love this place. The food is always so satisfying. The chocolate pumpkin bread is honestly the best thing I've ever eaten. Such a find! Support small businesses!!

Amazing coffee and food! Took my family of 3 here and we all got different plates... even the gluten free pancake was delicious. I'm a vegetarian so I loved the wrap with vege sausage. Service was quick and the atmosphere is comfortable. I will definitely be back!! There is lots of parking and the option to sit inside or out on the cute back patio area.

Coconut French Toast (vegan version)

Service was friendly. This is one of the few eateries with descent vegan options. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. Hubby and I ordered the crunchy burritos and substituted the egg for tofu. I also ordered a side of the vegan coconut French toast which was pretty delicious. The burritos were good but small. I was glad I had ordered the side of vegan French toast. Hubby; however, felt the burritos were pretty small and still felt hungry. They came with a side of black beans and a small dollop of fried potatoes. My daughter had the kids vegan pancake and it was shaped like Mickey Mouse and came with a side of fruit. We also had a mocha latte with oat milk, sans the whip. It came with a few chocolate chips on the side but I'd didn't ask if they were vegan or not so we didn't consume them. The baby had little bits of everyone's food. Overall, I enjoyed the food and plan to return. We appreciated the vegan options.

Yin & Yang Bowl

Stopped by for some brunch with friends! While the food was okay, the service was quite slow and they did not check on us to fill our waters or pay the check which was a bit bizarre. I got the yin and yang bowl which was alright, the top layer that had the jalapeños and sour cream was good but the rest of it lacked flavor and really tasted of potatoes and beans. However I liked that it came with a fresh tortilla. My boyfriend got the huevos rancheros and seemed to have the same problem with his food lacking any seasoning and flavor. Our friends seemed to enjoy their food and coffees. Overall we loved the various food options but the lack of flavor and poor service made the experience a bit weird. The workers didn't seem particularly socialable and again, they never checked on us so we were left with empty waters and waited for a significant time to pay our bill. Can't say I'd want to come back for brunch as the food resembled something We could make at home.

Naked café continues to be one of my favorite spots! They always have such creative and yummy specials. If you want a healthy take on a lot of favorites , naked is the place to go. Service is quick, it actually took longer to make my coffee than my meal. Servers are friendly, and the back door patio is so cute! Fit with many heat lamps.

It mixes industrial and classic touches with cozy leather booths, stylish décor, and an open, lively energy that still feels relaxed. It's polished enough for a special occasion but comfortable enough to linger over one more coffee, think business casual vibes. If the weather's nice, the patio is a great option too. The real MVP was our server, Katelynn. She handled all 8 of us by herself the entire time and never missed a beat. Our drinks were always fresh, and she stayed a step ahead of the table. Great solo performance. I split two entrées with my bro, which I highly recommend if you can't decide: California Burrito: Very savory, with creative sauces that set it apart from the usual breakfast burrito. Eggs Benedict: Well put together with quality ingredients. It's a classic done right. Potatoes: Fresh and delicious. I don't normally care for breakfast potatoes, and these still won me over. We left full, happy, and already planning a return trip. Bonus: The Forum Carlsbad shops are right nearby if you want to walk it off afterward, which we did. Cheers!

The restaurant itself is spacious and clean, and the service was good. Our server was very attentive throughout our meal. The wait for the food, however, was atrocious. It took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered to actually receive our food. At that point, making a reservation almost felt useless since we still ended up spending so much time waiting once we were seated. Thankfully, the food was very good and didn't disappoint. We got the bolognese and enchiladas, and both dishes were amazing and really hit the spot. I also got a lychee martini, but unfortunately I couldn't taste any lychee at all. On the bright side, it was probably the fastest thing to come out after we ordered. I would definitely come back, but probably when it's less busy. I just didn't expect to spend more time waiting for our food to come out than actually eating it.

Atelier Manna - Spanish style French toast

Fun Fact: "Manna" means an unexpected blessing, especially in a time of need! Atelier Manna was…read morecreated by Michelin-rated Chef Andrew Bachelier and his wife Larah as a creative workshop where food, art, wellness and community all come together. - Located in Leucadia, Atelier Manna is definitely not your typical brunch spot. It feels part restaurant, part art studio, part wellness experiment, and I mean that in the best way. The space is intimate and eclectic, with cookbooks, ceramics, artwork, salvaged materials and little pieces collected from the owners' travels throughout the space. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into making it feel personal rather than overly polished. Parking is do-able across the street by train , or on the street or surrounding neighborhoods. Best time to come when its not busy is W or TH morning! And then there's the food. We started with the Turkish eggs, soft poached eggs sitting over herbed yogurt, chili garlic butter and herbs with toast. The combination of the cool, tangy yogurt with the garlicky, slightly spicy butter was SO good. The toast is basically mandatory because you're going to want to swipe up every last bit of that sauce. P.S. dish comes with two eggs but you can order an extra egg if you have more people. The steak & tortilla was another standout. Snake River Farms zabuton steak with Spanish tortilla, black garlic romesco and Jimmy Nardello peppers. The steak was tender and cooked beautifully, but what really made the dish for me was the black garlic romesco. Rich, savory and slightly sweet, it tied everything together. And then came the torrija, Spanish-style French toast. This is not your basic brunch French toast. It's made with thick-cut sourdough, saffron vanilla, peach leaf oil, stone fruit and whipped labneh. The outside had that delicious caramelized/crispy texture while the inside was soft and custardy. The labneh was also such a good addition because it gave the dish a little tang to balance out the sweetness. Definitely a dish I'd order again. But we can't forget the drinks because Atelier Manna takes their non-alcoholic beverage program VERY seriously. Their "vitality tonics" are basically zero-proof cocktails with a wellness twist, and they are way more interesting than your standard juice or mocktail. I got the Mentawai: coconut, cold-infused green tea, lime leaf, pandan and astragalus, force carbonated. Light, refreshing and slightly tropical with enough acidity to keep it from tasting like straight coconut water. My friend got the Goldenrod, made with clarified cucumber, turmeric, honey and long pepper. Very refreshing and earthy with a little sweetness. Another friend went with the cold brew, which was smooth and fruity with a creamy body. I really appreciated that the drinks weren't just an afterthought. They actually felt like part of the experience. Overall, Atelier Manna is one of those places where you can tell the people behind it genuinely care about the details. The menu is creative without feeling like it's trying too hard, the space is unique and inviting, and the food manages to be indulgent while still incorporating a lot of fresh, thoughtful ingredients. Definitely a brunch spot worth the drive up to Leucadia, especially if you want something a little different from the usual eggs + mimosa situation.

Our food was so delicious and although the servings might appear on the smaller side, they're very filling and left us perfectly satiated. My friend ordered the French toast and he said it was good, though he found the outside a bit too tough (like the outside of a well baked cinnamon roll). This would be a great place to do shared plates and we'll be back again!

This is a place I've visited several times, and normally I leave extremely impressed. Unfortunately, this visit was slightly different. We ordered the Crispy Chicken & Waffles and the Classic French Omelet. Everything was cooked properly and presented well, but both dishes were surprisingly bland. There simply wasn't enough seasoning or flavor to make either dish particularly memorable. For a restaurant that usually delivers much more, this felt unusually flat. I was also surprised by the portion sizes. I've previously been very happy with the generous portions at Toasted, but both of these dishes felt noticeably smaller than expected. To be clear, nothing was poorly cooked. The problem was execution from a flavor and value perspective. When you have good ingredients and everything is technically cooked correctly, but the finished plate still tastes under-seasoned and leaves you wanting more, something has been missed. This was easily our least impressive visit to Toasted. Every other time has been excellent, so I'm inclined to chalk this one up to these particular menu items rather than the restaurant as a whole.

Service was good, but couldn't figure out why food was so off and tasteless. The Birria Eggrolls sounded divine but had that reheated vibe and texture. Was very underwhelming in terms of taste and crispness. Meat and cheese looked like it was faded/left out after cooked or reheated. We then split a seafood enchilada plate and it was completely devoid of any taste; barely any seafood in it, just 2 heavy thick smelly corn tortillas, the rubbery kind that's served at Rubios locations (are they still in business?) I love me some corn tortillas, but not these rubber mat-thick ones, the light fluffy corn ones. $40 hefty price tag wasn't close to delivering on any point value or taste wise. We asked for the beans on the side, and I have to say odd as it is, it was the best refried beans Ive ever tasted in my life. Asked for some house chips (I guess they dont bring unless you ask here and zero accompanying salsa I mean really?) got a small portion to dip in the bean spread; it was the best part of the meal, and it shouldnt have been.
