Thankfully this restaurant is nowhere near my home as I would be here every single morning. Their shrimp and grits had a fantastic flavor and spice level. The iced ube latte was a delicious treat with the perfect level of sweetness and amazing espresso. The country potatoes have the perfect amount of seasoning. The scrambled eggs are cool, nothing too fancy but I can't wait to come back. Short on time review: Hawaii girl says food was delicious and wholesome with great flavors in their hot sauce and jelly. Go early and you'll have the restaurant all to yourself. Hot sauce was so good! It's a slow heat build up but once it hits, you're sitting here wanting more but also need to question if you can handle more! Keep in mind, I love hot sauces. The jelly: smack it on the sourdough English muffin with their butter and ohhhhh boy! Ube latte: a little miss for me. Stumbled upon them a few years back while staying in Encinitas and it's a staple on every one of my trips now. The classic Benedict with Jurassic pork and a side of the blackberry jalapeño jam is my go to. Fluffy English muffin, sweet and savory thick cut bacon, perfectly poached eggs and creamy hollandaise with rosemary potatoes on the side and that sweet and spicy kick from the jam? SIGN ME UP! Their American breakfast is also just so flawlessly done every time, that it's an easy choice to keep it simple but delicious. Also the strawberry cheesecake pancakes are perfect if you want dessert for breakfast vibes. Lastly their coffee cake is some of the best! Light, airy crumb, delicious crumble on top, and generously portioned also. The last thing you HAVE to try is their cafe de olla. Our first back breakfast back in Carlsbad or Encinitas, we were hungry because we had to fast all morning before LabCorp. Jose was a very good server, the only reason for the four stars was, I thought that all the food was just a tad undercooked. My wife had eggs Benedict and I thought the English muffins were as soft as I've ever felt. My pancakes, acceptable pretty nice taste but the sausage that I ordered on the side was truly uneditable. Jose was nice enough to take it off the bill and to take it back. Latte and coffee just what we needed. Parking, easy and a nice big lot, interior lots of tables maybe just because it was a Thursday after breakfast. Service: It was Ok, Laura was very professional and friendly. She did come over to see if things tasted good but I had just taken a drink and my husband said everything was good. Ambiance: Fun and modern. Noteworthy: My husband's hot espresso drink was cold, like it had been sitting around for an hour, we flagged Laura over for a new one. My breakfast was lukewarm, the upgraded potatoes and eggs, I HATE when it's lukewarm & its not the first time, I keep forgetting to tell them I want it hot, I dont think I should have to say it but I do like coming here. There is really nothing positive to say about my experience here. Girlfriend ordered the steak and eggs and they asked her if how she wanted the streak cooked. She said medium. The steak was maybe 1/8-1/4 inch cuts and was well done. No way to make that steak anything but well done. Why are you even asking that question instead of telling people how it's cooked when it was ordered. I got an omelet. Eggs were overcooked and not fluffy. They were dry and chewy. Ordered a soda and not once did the server come by to refill it or check on us. And to top it all off they had us under an and A/c vent pointed down at our table going full blast while the doors were open. Don't come to this establishment unless you want to be disappointed. Ughh... I wish I liked this place, only came back because a friend picked it. I only ate the food because I was so so hungry, The California breakfast burrito on their menu lists "skirt steak" as the first ingredient and maybe every 5 bites I got a piece of steak. Some of the potatoes were raw inside. The rice still had a bay leaf in it and the rice was day old rice that held together cause it was in a container of some sort. It was not good I wish it was good but things here seem to just miss the mark for me, I still ate the food because I hate to complain and my friend invited me out to breakfast so I didn't want to be rude. People I know seem to love it but my experiences here have been just okay unfortunately. The coffee machine needs to be cleaned because the coffee was so bitter My first California breakfast burrito ever and it wasn't flavorful all that, nothing has any depth of flavor here. It just is what it is. Rice takes 30 minutes to make just make it fresh and don't serve people the bay leaf and not break up the rice. It was lazy, and the service is lack luster Ambiance is the only okay thing about this spot and the bathrooms are dirty, and the serving plates' paint was chipping so I don't think that's a good thing for consumption I know I said I wouldn't come back last time but this time I really mean it. I ordered the Portugese linguisa sausage omelette. It had a little bit of spice, but the flavor was fantastic. The vegetables served with it, including squash, corn, carrots, and onions, paired perfectly with the omelette and we're just as enjoyable. My husband ordered the protein omelette and really liked it. Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff is very attentive, friendly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Service is good and quick. Lots of parking in the parking lot if you just drive around enough. The ambiance and atmosphere is nice - spacious, airy, cutesy slogans on the walls, etc. The food is decent but quite heavy on the salt. We ordered the shakshuka special, the sausage omelet and the steak power bowl. The shakshuka was excessively salty. With the accompanying pita bread, the salt was not as obvious but there were 3 pita pieces which I finished in like 5 bites and then a whole 3/4 bowl of salty shakshuka to eat. When we had the leftovers later, there was even more salt because now the dish had marinated in it. The sausage omelet was good and a pretty big portion too. The potatoes that came with it were heavily salted also. Some of those pieces could not be eaten given how salty they were. The steak bowl was fine. The cauliflower rice had the opposite problem in that it didn't have enough salt! If you guys are able to figure out your salt game, the food will get rave reviews. read more

My family and I were seated in a section where the supervisor, Elizabeth, was serving our table. From the moment she approached us, her demeanor was unprofessional and discourteous. Upon arriving at the table, she abruptly set down the water jugs and asked, "What do you guys want?" in a manner that felt rude and dismissive. When we were ordering drinks, a member of my party politely asked whether the matcha was served hot or cold. Elizabeth responded, "Well, either way," in a sarcastic and unhelpful tone. Later, while we were attempting to place our food order, she interrupted us by saying, "Wait, hold on!" in an aggressive manner. Due to the ongoing poor service, I requested to speak with a manager. Elizabeth informed me that the manager was out and would not return for an hour. When I asked who the manager on duty was, she stated his name was Esteban and again said he would not be back for an hour. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation, Elizabeth continued to argue back and forth with me and my family members, which further escalated the negative experience. As someone who identified herself as a supervisor, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills. Instead, we experienced rude communication, dismissive behavior, and an unwillingness to address our concerns appropriately. Elizabeth seemed like she had not showered hair was all over the place and it looked dirty. Her clothes seemed dirty and she works with food this is very disgusting and a health hazard when serving food! I came to this location for breakfast this morning, I ordered the Pineapple upside down pancakes and my friend ordered the Jalapeño bacon cheddar sausage omelet. The omelet was mouth watering, It had a ton of flavor and was super tasty, it was accompanied by the house potatoes which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My pancakes were decent, I felt like it mostly tasted like the buttermilk pancakes with a hint of pineapple every few bites, I wish it came with a side or more flavor to add diversity to it. The mexican mocha I bought was super good though, I recommend trying it if you go.The service was very kind and the manager was super friendly and moved a chair out of the way without a second thought for my wheelchair which I appreciated. I had the jalapeño bacon and cheddar sausage omelet. With a side order of grits. Those grits oh gosh. So So good I have to learn how to make them. They are to die for. Everyone else's meal they said it was good. Good for me they have a location not too far from where I live. They are only open for breakfast and that's my favorite meal of the day. I love the openness of the place and the decor is different and the yellow chairs I like. Our server Aram was awesome. He answered all our questions. Since it was our first time here.
