I dropped off a dress to be tailored for an upcoming wedding. I walked by the next day and saw that they hadn't started the job, so I asked them to make a mask out of the extra fabric from the hem. Without hesitation they added that to the order, and it's a great mask. They made sure to extra cotton fabric to the inside to make sure it protects me. When I went back to pick it up, I had a great conversation with them and was so distracted that I paid without realizing they didn't charge me for the mask. When I noticed, I insisted on paying and they would not let me! They moved to the US over 30 years ago and have been in the neighborhood for decades. Their business has taken a hit because people aren't dry cleaning and altering their clothes like they used to. Please give them a visit, support their business and keep them in the neighborhood. So disappointed. Initially went in and dropped off 2 dresses and a blazer. They told me I could return same day if I wanted after having asked me my preferences and saying that the following day could work just as easily. Ultimately, went and picked it up at the end of the day since she said it would be done by then. The lady at the front desk who had initially said it would be $15.00 total for all pieces, was a bit curt and said: "Same day? I thought tomorrow?" I said, "Oh! You had said I could come by end of day and I got off work in time to pick it up." Despite this futile pushback, she dismissively handed me the three bags of my clothes, said she was charging extra $5.00 because one of my dresses has an embedded slip (since it is tulle and see thru). I will not return not only because of the lack of transparency ($5.00 is not going to break the bank, but it's the principle) AND I have **MANY** holes in my tulle dress. So disappointed. There are plenty of places on 7th avenue that charge less per piece. Miracle workers! I'm pretty sure Najax can get just about any stain out. They provide tailor services as well but I haven't used the services yet. The staff at Najax has been very accommodating the few times we needed things turned around faster than usual. Yes, although there are other options on the street, Najax is the only cleaners I will use. So, I don't live in Windsor Terrace anymore. In fact, I live about 20 minutes away. But I still go here for my dry cleaning and alterations. Why? Because they always do a good job. And it's cheap. (One Manhattan dry cleaning place quoted me $30 for an alteration; this place did it for $4.) Plus, they're nice, and it's family run. And they're open very early, for those pre-work pick-ups. Yes. Just had a rather odd and unexplained problem--my laundry seemed to have been missing from their location. NOT lost--just, I think, not delivered from their plant, or something? (End result is that I have no laundry for the next several days...) Which seems like a very strange thing for a cleaners to do. I've taken several dresses here to get work done...and they've done a beautiful job with all of them! One dress was particularly difficult and I wasn't happy with the straps, so I brought it back and they fixed it for me on the spot. They are accommodating and understanding that a girl just needs her clothes to fit right! They are sweet and I will definitely make the trip back just to get my clothes done here. Poor to mediocre service. They repeatedly make me come back 1 or 2 times because clothes are not ready. They are disorganized, and rude to customers. The quality of their ironing in general is poor. I've taken back things I gave them to iron that still had creases in them. While their tailoring is decent, the fact that it takes them 3 weeks to do something and they keep your clothing balled up in a plastic grocery bag takes away from any semblance of professionalism. They often keep me waiting 15 minutes while they look for my clothing. I was once there when a woman was absolutely distraught because they ruined her expensive blazer by misunderstanding the alterations and making the sleeves too short. They just shrugged their shoulders and after a few minutes of no response, the woman left in near tears. I've taken a lot of tailoring jobs requiring skill and attention to detail to E&L up the street on Prospect Park West, which does infinitely better work and has far better customer service. read more

3 out of the last 5 times I've dropped off clothes to be cleaned they're not done on time OR they say they've cleaned them but it's obvious that they weren't cleaned. Last week I gave them a bag of delicates, they didn't hang them up to dry and left them in a plastic bag for 3 days and now our clothes smell like mould. AND they tried to charge me full price after admitting that they completely screwed up. These guys are never on time, rarely actually do the job you pay them to do, and then try to charge full price. Took a wool coat to be cleaned and repaired. It came back very clean. However they didn't put the button back on that I asked them to. They lost the button and asked me to come back later. (???) Eventually the person they called to find the button called back and they did find it. Thankfully they sewed it back on right away while I waited. Overall a weird experience, but honestly I've come to expect that from NY dry cleaners and it's why I generally avoid them. They didn't destroy my coat, so I consider it a win. read more

I've been coming to Najax for my dry cleaning and tailoring needs for almost 2 years. They are one of the most reasonably priced dry cleaners I've found in Brooklyn. They take credit cards which isn't as common as one would expect nowadays (no minimum either.) If you have a car parking is relatively easy right out front (metered, but a quick in and out). They are very friendly and if there ever is a mistake, which is bound to happen at any service provider, they own up ti it and make it right. Even when I move, I can't see myself going to any other cleaners so long as I'm still in Brooklyn. My husband brought a storage ticket to Najax Cleaners last week on the weekend. They were unable to locate a suit of his that had cost approximately $800. Even though my husband had the ticket, they insisted we had picked it up. At first the young woman at the counter discussed a settlement with us whereby they would give us a voucher for free services in an amount to be discussed, but a day or two later she called the house on the phone and said I had picked up the suit (not explaining why I still had the ticket) "a long time ago." We explained that was impossible because it was a winter suit and I would not be picking it up in the summer. We returned together to Najax and were shown a ticket with a fancy seal in red Chinese characters which the employees stated was "proof" we had picked up the suit. At that point I threatened to publicize this incident on Yelp and take them to court since we had a ticket. Later that day my husband returned to pick up some shirts and lo and behold they had found his suit "in a storage room." Problem is, this is a small storefront that does not appear to have "storage rooms." Yelp discloses two rather similar incidents. I have lodged a complaint about this with the city mainly because of their forgery of the ticket with the red seals but also because of the pattern. Probably whoever forged the ticket should not be working there and they should be educated about getting insurance. I would encourage people with similar experiences to complain at the 311 website to establish a pattern. read more

Down coat repair: Paid $30 for a new zipper and all they replaced was a zipper pull($5 repair). Paid $8 to replace three new Velcro patches on the hood.They only replaced one. I went back to pick up the coat 4 times and nothing was corrected.I took the coat as is and got a partial refund. Stupid,stupid,stupid people.Don't know how they stay in business. read more

I will not be using their services again. Multiple times now I have gone to pick up my dry cleaning and only half is done. I'm talking two shirts and one pair of pants. And they tell me it's my fault, after I pick it up days after its supposed to be done. Also not s great job on the cleaning. They don't starch even when you ask for extra. Also they can't count. I dropped off two pairs of pants and she kept saying three, put it in the computer as three and I kept picking them up and showing her two. All in all, not worth it if you need something when they say it'll be ready, needless if you give them a few days extra. The customer service is horrible too. read more

I was using them for a while so when I dropped off multiple shirts for cleaning in a hurry I didn't verify the receipt. So when I went to pick-up they returned all the shirts except one, and of course it was the brand new shirt which was missing. So when I checked the slip it had one less than the number I dropped off. So it seems like the person collecting the drop-off had the eye on the new shirt at the time I dropped it off. I've gone to this cleaners once in the past with no problems. This time I took in a set of thermal, rubber-backed curtains marked dry clean only. They did just that, and ruined the curtains in the process. Not only did they ruin the curtains, they just kept saying, oh not ready yet, come back tomorrow. When they were finally presented they explained that they shouldn't be dry-cleaned and there was a bit of a problem. They showed me the "problem" and charged me a discounted price; upon arriving home and examining the curtains myself, I found that most of the rubber on the back was actually gone from the curtains and there were holes in them. When I brought them back to the cleaners, he hesitantly gave me my money back and told me the manufacturer should be paying me back as it wasn't his fault. The tailor i had gone to in the past had moved locations and her new location was too far and I needed my gown hemmed asap. When I need a repair, they are quick to get it done and done well. I brought a men's shirt to another place and they smashed all the buttons. i live in the area, and i've been trying to figure out where to get alterations done, so i brought a newly purchased (not inexpensive) pair of jeans in for an inch and a half hem. this was on a monday. i was told to pick them back up friday, which was perfect, because friday happened to be my birthday and i was going to wear them that night. well, friday afternoon i returned to najax with my ticket in hand and nobody in the store could find my jeans anywhere. i waited a solid 15 minutes while two other customers received their items, and mine were nowhere to be found. they weren't under the pile of "to alter" they checked at least 10 times. they weren't in the tiny closet with the shower curtain over it, where they checked 5 times, and they weren't on the rotating dry-cleaning hangar machine, because they spun it three times checking. they just weren't there, and the proprietor told me to leave my number and come back later. i came back two hours later and my jeans still were nowhere to be found. the proprietor told me to return the next day with my receipt, and he would reimburse me for the cost of the jeans. luckily i had a receipt, and when i returned the next day my jeans had magically appeared! unhemmed! they told me they would do it for no cost, so i decided to let them go for it, but i won't be returning anytime soon. fwiw, agnes up the street is much more reliable, low volume, and organized. read more
