This wasn't my first time at nail tech 2 but may be my last. I got a pedicure with no chip polish which isn't too much but the older gentleman doing my nails was constantly huffing and puffing his breath, pushing my feet around in not at all in a gentle way and making it an unenjoyable experience. Also when my friend sitting next to me turned to show me a Facebook video he was trying to look at her phone screen as if she was showing him. He just seemed completely bothered the entire time. Overall it was a very uncomfortable experience and I would not recommend going. read more

Went here about a week ago for a dip manicure. The man who did my nails did not have me use the black light at all throughout my manicure. I found this odd because I have only gotten a dip or gel manicure with the light. He did not clean the station before I sat down (that is disgusting before and during this pandemic). There was nail dust everywhere. I was happy with how they turned out. Sadly, I had my pointer finger dip fall off THE NIGHT I got them done. I went back to get it redone for free. I came in here on a Friday after work, and I told my friend to get us reservations... Surprisingly, the place was no where near busy. The 3 of us got taken right away. I brought in a pic from Pinterest, and they were able to replicate it well (see photo). I didn't think I'd chosen anything too complicated, but the photo was scrutinized for a long time, making me nervous at the final outcome. Thankfully, the overall experience was good. I got poked at a little to move my hands forward and to keep the no-chip dryer on (it was motion activated), which is always a little bit stressful, because I swear I try to be a good customer!! I know it has some to do with a language barrier, so I try not to take it too personal. The place itself is clean, the tubs for pedis were cleaned right after use. My mani tools came out of an autoclave, but in a medical/sterilzed package that had already been open. At the end of the mani, I noticed, the same package went back in the autoclave. I don't know if this counts or not for sterilization. My friends and I were all satisfied with our nails, and we were all done at the same time, which was nice. My mani with the two colors was $40, which is more than I'm used to paying out by me, but the job was well done. I'd come back again. read more

The nail techs are rude in the sense that if you want more than one color for your nails they get irritated and have an attitude. Also, I was charged extra without being told because I had 4-5 different colored nail polish (no design) which I've never been charged extra for at other places. The only reason I used to go here for so many years is for the nail tech named Bic and now that she's gone I haven't met anyone who is nice and takes the time to do my nails like her. Dav's wife----This used to be my favorite place. Came once a month for a pedicure for several years. Lately they have the tv on to soap operas and noisy pundits. Will not turn off tv. They used to be really conscientious about cleaning their tools, but today all they did was spritz a liquid on them and wipe off with a paper towel. Last but not least--The lady owner was filing her toenails at the front desk. How inappropriate. I asked for change for a larger bill, and without washing her hands took my money and put it in her drawer and then took out my change and handed it to me. Ew!!! Going to have to find a new place. For my money, there are but one or two sensations (I will spare you the demented details) that best that of sliding a freshly pedicured foot into sock and shoe. Add to that the fact that my toes are equivalent, aesthetically, to a rusted out 1972 AMC Gremlin and you get a middle aged white guy who has been partaking of pedicures for many years ( I don't get them polished, thank you). Except when traveling, this always occurs at Nail Tech 2. The technicians are usually very adept, dexterous, and professional. And I dig the massage chairs and the hot foot bath. But during my most recent visit, I got the suspicion that my gal (who appeared to be of recent employ) was digging a little too deep at my cuticles, and was perhaps shaving off a bit more of the callouses than I would have preferred. And those suspicions were confirmed, the following day, when my two great toes and the spots on the balls of my feet that had previously been callouses felt as if someone had applied a generous portion of Napalm. This experience was an outlier, and I assume that everything will be fine next time. I do recommend the place to all of my friends (all 2 of them) and I will continue to do so. read more

I have been a patron of Nail Tech 2 for nearly 10 years. Owners Steve and Cindy are fantastic - they both do exceptionally good work and good pace. It can be hit or miss with the quality of work from other employees. Some times I have had fantastic service, sometimes not so good. The salon is very clean and professional. Pedi chairs are excellent and most of the technicians give GREAT 5+ minute calf/foot massages. I have done many services at this salon - waxing (hit or miss), acrylic and gel tips, pedicures, manicures, and for the past 2 years I have consistently gone for no-chip manicures. The prices are competitive ($35 for no-chip manicure, $22 for pedicure) and the service is great. They also now offer drinks, including wine, with service. My recommendation is to go during off-peak hours - if you go in on an evening or weekend, expect to wait. I always walk-in, but they do take appointments as well. As mentioned, they do not want you to put tips in credit card so plan accordingly. Also the parking lot area is small so if you go during peak hours, parking can be frustrating. read more

My sister and I went to Nailtech 2 late this morning to get mani/pedis and relax with one another. Although I'm not a frequenter to nail salons, I have been to my fair share of them. I should also mention that I work in retail, and have been for years. I was extremely disappointed today with my services. It seemed to be the little things that didn't seem to matter, despite the fact that we got what was called a deluxe pedicure. The water I soaked in, the stones that were used, and the paraffin wax were scalding and my sensitive skin turned bright pink and is now dry. The nail tech tried to slide the callus brick (I think that's what it's called) across the tops of my nails, and as a result, it sliced my foot open by my toenail and started to bleed. Without any warning, he unceremoniously dropped some blue liquid on it, and it instantly burned and stung my cut (I presume it was cleaning it?). When my exfoliant was getting rinsed off, he splashed my jeans. Not just a little bit on accident, but big hands full of it. And my nails still feel ragged and keep snagging on everything. I work retail. I understand people can have an off day, and I've been told I'm too nice to people. But I just felt like sharing. I do want to say I did get a manicure as well, and the streaky color I picked was applied with amazing meticulousness. It really is the little things that matter, and this place seemed to fall short of expectations. read more

I like cheap. I like fast service. I like clean, really clean. And this place is all of the above. This place is really clean, seriously, most of the strip mall nail places are questionable in terms of hygiene. But they sterilize everything in UV light boxes, and just keep this place immaculate. With a student discount, I got a mani/pedi for $30 with massage chair! Great place, I'll be back next time I visit my sister. read more

i am REALLY picky with my nail techs. i have been going to nail tech 2 for about a year or two, took a short break to try gel nails elsewhere, but im back. steve is my tech and he always does them right. quick (on my lunch break everytime) prefectly shaped, narrowed and natural looking. i can go three weeks. 15 bucks a fill, cant beat it. OHHHH and the older ladies do GREAT pedis, you will fall asleep or come close anyway. a good 5-10 min massage of the calves/feet. best ive had in a long time. read more

A certain worker, Cindy took the shape of nails that I wanted and made them very uneven and crooked. All of my nails look a different shape, did not even paint the entire nail, two of the nails are pointed to the far left, one nail was not filled in all the way so it looks like I have three layers on one nail. I did it with her cuz Steve does a really painting job Cuz he is always in a hurry to go to smoke . I'm never coming back I spend 35 dollars and now I have to go and get my nails fix and spend more money read more

My girlfriend and sister went here and while my sister's nails were pretty good, my girlfriend's nails left something to be desired. The girl did a half-ass job roughing up the nails before applying the fake nails, you could see dirt and yuck underneath the fake nails once they were applied and after a week they started to fall off. It seems like it all depends on you get here, but they wont be returning. read more

When I lived in Illinois, I would get me nails done here all the time. Tina always did my nails and did a great job! Every time I come back to Illinois, I would always come back here to have Tina do my nails. So my Mother in law bought me a gift certificate on November 8th and I went to use it on November 13th to use it only to find they are CLOSED! They have a sign on the door that says closed for renovations. I do not know why they would even sell a gift certificate, if they knew they are closing. I really hope they do reopen so I can use my gift certificate next time I am in town! I really miss Steve and Cindy, the previous owners! read more

I used to really like this place. I always get a no chip manicure and then every other month I get a pedicure. I went in for the no chip and the pedicure. Less than a week after, my nail chips so I go in and get it fixed. Then my toenails start chipping. Then two days after I got the no chip fixed my nail chips after getting out of the shower. This time when I go in the man says that nails will chip if your doing hard work all the time....I have a desk job so I know it's not that. Anyways, they fix it, but then two days later it chips again. Normally I would go back, but with three chips in under two weeks and the man being rude to me it just kind of put a sour taste in my mouth and there are plenty of other nail salons in Naperville with better reviews. read more

I've been a patron of Nailtech 2 for MANY years .. in fact, many of my friends and colleagues, on my recommendation, are now their clients too! Their pedicures, including the calf massage, are to die for .. I have severe nerve damage in my hands and STEVE and CINDY always do an awesome job on my tips, fills and french manicures and pedicures -- and without hurting me! (a big thing if you have nerve pain) .. When Steve does my nails, they last 3-4 weeks .. amazing .. and I keep coming back .. why? I have visited here several times, but finally decided to try somewhere else because the chemical smell was so strong I couldn't stand it. I like nice nails, but not at the expense of my lungs. Also, quality of the pedicures has been uneven. The first time I visited the tech was excellent. The next time, someone painted my cuticles. This salon was clean with a large selection of Opi nail polishes and offers a large selection of gel colors. I got a gel mani and spa pedi for $55 total! Both ladies paid attention to detail. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the nail techs were not very friendly which may be due to language barrier. Anyways, I got my pedicure last week, and it's chipping already. Did not quite done what they should have, like take off the dead skin and stuff. It was my first time there, and will not go back!! This is the ONLY nail salon I will go to. I have been to several in the area and given a toenail fungus which took 6 months to resolve! I have had my cuticles cut a couple times by techs that were too preoccupied. Nail Tech 2 has child sized massage pedicure chairs, great for Mommy & Me days and you won't pay through the nose! Making an appointment is best in my opinion because they get super busy. read more
