I need to stop making excuses for shops and businesses I give money to!! I was so excited at the prospect of a new, clean and fresh nail salon in walking distance from my home!! I was all prepped to really like it. I arrived at 10:30 and was taken right away... I knew upon polish/dip removal that things were going downhill. The polish removal was amateurish and took way way too long. The dip application was lumpy and too thick. The manicurist had really long pointy nails that kept digging into my fingers... I was miserable most of the time. She paid zero attention to my cuticles and the whole procedure was sloppy. My nails are bubbly, rough and show brush strokes! Now these salons are small... so if I go back it's obvious I don't want to work with this person... it's awkward so it's a shame. I also didn't understand a word she said. I paid and tipped 20% but I won't go back... no reason to! read more

WARNING: Disrespectful and discriminatory treatment at Li Li Nails. I've been going to Kim at Li Li Nails in Lisle since I moved here in July of last year. I've always been kind, respectful, and tipped her--even when I truly couldn't afford to. But what happened today was unacceptable, and I can no longer stay silent. I scheduled an appointment with Kim two days in advance. The appointment was for 1 p.m. today. I began calling at 10 a.m. to confirm--calling a total of five times between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.--but my calls were ignored. I knew the salon was open. So, I decided to call from my second phone, one she doesn't recognize. She answered immediately. That moment confirmed what I feared: I was being deliberately avoided. What's worse is this isn't the first time I've felt uncomfortable. On multiple visits, I noticed how other customers--particularly those who are not African American--were treated with more enthusiasm, priority, and attention. Despite that, I continued to show up with grace and patience. But today was the last straw. I don't deserve to be ignored, dismissed, or treated as less than. No one does. This review is not written out of anger--it's written out of hurt and the hope that others will be treated with the basic dignity and respect they deserve. If you're considering going to Li Li Nails, especially if you're a Black woman, I strongly encourage you to think twice. Professionalism and kindness should be extended to every customer. I went in for a gel pedicure and was in a rush so I asked how long the wait would be she told me "oh not long pick a color and sit down" she got me set up, 35-40 mins later I was still waiting. finally it was my turn and at this point I only had time for a nail trim and color. I told her I had to go and only color was needed she still charged me $45. I felt that was ridiculous. I didn't have time to argue so I paid and went on my way. Needless to say I won't be back. I gave it one star for one reason only.. I had a mani/ pedi done and asked both ladies to not cut my cuticles. I must have at least repeated the request three times and they both repeated it but cut them anyway. I don't like my cuticles because they always seem to cut me and cuticles are there to protect your nails so you are not suppose to cut them anyway. Well they cut me! When I left both my mani and pedi looked great and they also lasted one week, perfect because I needed them to for a wedding I was in! My finger hurt from the cuticle cutting and my legs were on fire... so this is what happened... I went in for a simple mani/ pedi. They talked me into the sugar scrub for my feet and legs... that part was wonderful, however when it came time to rinse off the scrub she had me put my feet in the water and instead of using her hands to move the product off me she used a foot scrub brush... FIRE FIRE FIRE. My legs were just scrubbed!!! Duh! It was really painful and no longer relaxing. I can't return because they are a service industry and they don't really cater to my needs (cutting of the cuticles)... besides it's been one week since I went and my finger still hurts from the cut! read more

If I could give this places no stars I would, THEY CUT A CHUNK OF SKIN. 1. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and I do nails for a living. I saw numerous sanitation violations. The first impression was dirty. 2. They are overcharging for services that they aren't actually doing. They DO NOT do GEL nails. What they are actually doing is putting an ACRYLIC enhancement on your nails and painting a GEL POLISH over top. You can get that gel polish at Sally's for $15. 3. They cut my cuticles too short after I asked them not to cut them at all. (I take care of my own cuticles because they hardly grow anyways) 4. My nails were as long as I wanted them and they still cut them short and super glued tips on. Aside from the fact that it is easy to make a nail longer WITH OUT using them they always glue it to my skin. They then left the nails too long after I repeatedly asked them to take it shorter. 5. Here's the part that really put me over the edge. One of the tips came off while she very roughly filing. She got mad and yelled at the person who put them on. In her angry rush to redo it, SHE CUT OFF A CHUNK OF MY FINGER!!! Yes, actually cut a piece of skin off the tip of my finger, it was bleeding through the initial gauze. She apologized and superglued another piece of gauze to my finger...which caused even more pain when it slowly ripped off over the next few days. It's been a month and it's still not totally healed. 6. They actually made me pay for my service. I tried to argue and they told me it was an accident and I must pay. I gave her a $1 tip. Please, please, please, pay the extra $10-$15 to get a real manicure in a real salon. You will be treated nicely, no one will be unprofessional, and best of all, you won't be in pain after the service!! read more

Stopped in last night for a mani/pedi. I had a coupon off a Jewel receipt for $ 30. The regular price is $ 35. Nhu was my nail tech. She was fantastic!!! Highly recommend booking an appt. with her. She gave me a 45 minute pedicure and a 30 minute manicure. My nails were perfect and she did an excellent job on my heels too. It was a little hot in there, but when I made a comment about it, Nhu had someone turn the a/c down. Bonus too they had Food Network on the TV, which is more entertaining to me than the news that most places show. I will definitely become a regular customer of this salon! read more

Stopped in on a Friday night at 7:00 hoping to get a fill. I had meant to stop in during the week and never found time...totally my fault. I found this place driving down Odgen after getting turned down elsewhere and thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if they had time for me. I'm sure they really didn't because it was so late (they close at 8:00) but they made time for my fill and a pedicure on top of it. The woman doing my fill did a really nice job. She took care to really see the edges that needed extra attention and fixed them up. She also completely replaced one that was peeling off (I didn't realize it was so bad). She also noted my gel base was getting discolored and said it was almost time for a new set. The lady that did my pedi was great. She let me choose from their spa menu even though it was late, and she spent plenty of time treating my feet well, including a lovely paint job. I did not see anything to make me think the salon was unclean as mentioned in other reviews. In fact, I watched them clean up for the night and didn't see anything odd. I also don't mind that they speak their native language, that's pretty normal at most nail salons I've visited. Overall I was very satisfied with my impromptu visit, so much so I'll definitely be back and with my BFF in tow. read more

As part of my friend's bridal party, we stopped in for pedicures before the rehearsal. And we couldn't have been more disappointed. The woman doing my pedicure was in a very nasty mood. Instead of my leg massage (which my friend received from someone else), this woman put a towel on my legs and literally slapped them each twice. She also would hit my leg when she wanted something (nail polish, me to switch feet, etc). And the polish job itself looked like it was done by a ten year old. I came as a walk in on saturday. I was promptly seated and they started on my pedicure. She took her time and did a excellent job.

Yesterday I decided to treat myself to a pedi and clean my feet up for the summer. This salon is not up to par with other places I have been to. The salon is nothing special, even a bit on the dirty side (which I only noticed as I was getting my pedicure). The selection of polish is weak, I think I own more. I got a basic $23 pedicure. Basic must mean as little work as possible, because my feet barely got a scrubbing. I go to get pedis because they normally clean my feet up better than I can at home...this was not the case. My feet were scrubbed by maybe a minute, and they need a lot more work than that! The only positive I can say was the foot massage was relaxing, but I'd trade it for my feet scrubbed and scraped. The employees were nice, but it was awkward when I couldn't leave a tip on my card. At this point, a tip didn't seem necessary. The icing on the cake for this less than stellar experience is that the polish on both my big toes is already chipped. Bummer. read more

I came here because I recently moved in the area and trying to find a new nail place. Needless to say I will not be returning. They had 5 techs at my visit and they all were working on 2 customers (3 techs to 1 customer and the other 2 to the other customer). I waited about 20 minutes till the nightmare began. The guy started filing my nails to begin my acrylic full set. I asked him several times to make my nails even, some were square or just completely uneven...when I asked for coffin shaped. He seemed to have gotten irritated when I would ask to correct his mistakes. (Started getting rough turning my fingers) the acrylic was very lumpy, even after filing. The polish looked liked a 5 year old did it. Then when it was time to pay, the lady was trying to charge me $30!!!! I have been getting my nails done for 22 years and I have never paid more than $25 for a full set!!! This place is a joke, I would not recommend anyone here! read more

I used to come here all the time when Lili actually owned it...sorry to say its gone downhill...I gave them a lot of chances but they are understaffed,not professional,always made me come back,the one girl didn't know how to do french and messed them up and owner had to fix, another time same girl cut me..sucks cause it was right by me and Lili was great,I loved her and her sons. I have gone to Lili Nails in Lisle for many years and have nothing but high praise for this establishment. Just a few things I love: Incredibly clean environment Reasonable pricing Outstanding service-I have been to Kohler, Coldwater Creek, Mario Tricoci, ... and the treatment at Lili is superior. Even with the basic mani/pedi they provide a long and relaxing leg and foot massage followed by a hot towel wrap. If opting for the 5 dollar salt scrub, you receive twice the massage (one with salt, the other with lotion) . Sure, it lacks the club like elegance of high priced spa, but the surroundings are bright and clean, with comfortable massage chairs where you can unwind during your treatment. As far as the previous comment regarding sales pitch: Other services may be offered, but a simple No ends the conversation and you are on your way to a delightful experience. read more

Since that is against the law, I will be reporting them to the state. Gift certificates do not expire. I didn't like their services anyway, and their technicians are unfriendly. I love this place!! I first went because I had received a gift certificate from a friend for a mani-pedi. I was wary because of some of the previous reviews, but hey, it was free. I was SO happy! I have paid much more than this for worse service - I will never be going to another salon again. Lili did my nails and she was SO friendly and did a truly immaculate job. Honestly, not a single thing I could say wrong about my nails. She also did a fabulous hand and foot massage with the mani-pedi, which you don't always get. It's true that it's not a "glamorous" salon, but it's more than worth the inexpensive price. If you want all the fancy bells and whistles of an expensive salon, don't waste your time. But f you want a PERFECT manicure or pedicure, this is the place to go. read more

There are many nail salons in the area and since I'm still fairly new to the Lisle area...I'm giving them all a try. I went in for a manicure & pedicure the day before I left for vacation. Lili did my nails...she's very friendly and also a saleswoman. The last thing I want is to be talked into the "extras" when all I want is a mani & pedi and to be on my way... So since this was my first pedicure post winter I did get the extra foot scrub. She tried talking me into the no-chip manicure for $30 but I declined...a few times. She said it lasts much longer...blah blah blah. I got it but I was going on vacation and figured a regular manicure will get me through the next 3-4 days. I was very wrong. I don't know what on earth she put on my nails before polishing them but my manicure lasted a whole 7 hours. The nail polish peeled off on two of my fingers that night and after about a day or two - they were ALL peeled and this had nothing to do with anything I did on my part, it was just absolutely horrible. $40 for both and that is what I got. The perk is that you get a punch card and after 10 visits you get $10...needless to say that went in the garbage when I returned form my trip. Onto the next nail salon ....... read more

I love Li Li Nails! I have been a customer for over 20 years always receive extra special service. They are the only nail salon that really cuts all the cuticle off of my nails and shapes them perfectly! They are quick and efficient and do offer special foot spa services if you have more time. I only trust Li Li to do my nails! As for the no chip manicures, I highly recommend them. They have lasted up to 4 weeks for me. Thank you Lynn!
