After dealing with another salon that kept changing staff and used poorly sanitized tools, I needed a better option. Urban Nail & Spa immediately impressed me with its clean atmosphere, warm hospitality, relaxing music, and clearly sanitized tools. My nail tech gave me a wonderful, soothing manicure with vitamin E oil, and for a basic manicure, my nails looked like I had an upscale gel service. I'll definitely be returning. Just remember to bring cash for tips!

This place is OK. I was staying in the area and needed to get my nails ready for a week of events…read more I called at 9AM on a Tuesday morning when they opened, and they were able to give me an appointment for 10:30, which was the time I requested The salon was in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. It looked clean and modern. They played cooking shows on the TV screens, which I enjoy. I was seated at a pedicure chair right away and given a choice of colors for my gel manicure and regular pedicure. I did ask to ensure that they would not use the electric sander on my nails. I was quite pleased to find that they never use that for gel nails, a policy that I wish more salons would adopt. There were only two customers when I arrived, but people began to shuffle in during the time I was there. The pedicure was fine. I appreciate that they did not try to upsell me, but I do think it would have been nice to have more services such as a bit more of a massage or some more scrubs. It was quite basic and I wasn't offered other options. I was then moved to the manicure table after the pedicure was complete. Like the pedicure, it went by quite quickly. Not that it is necessary, but the staff really made no attempt to have a conversation at all. I'm OK with it, but they could have come across a little friendlier. No one was rude at all, but it just wasn't the warmest environment. As far as the manicure, I liked the color, but the gel dried unevenly with a few bumps here and there which annoyed me. Also it just wasn't quite the length or shape that I requested. All in all, I was glad that they were able to get me in and it was a decent service at a reasonable price. However, I do feel that the services were quite basic and it wasn't the best looking manicure that I've had.

I come here all the time, but after this experience I will never come to this establishment again…read more I rarely write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to have to go through this. I was a walk in appointment, and they told me to come back in 40 minutes. Totally understandable, so I did. When I returned, I checked in and then I sat there waiting for another 10 minutes before another woman walked in and said she also had a 6:00 appointment. The staff then told a client whose nails they were already working on that they couldn't continue her design because the woman who had just arrived had an appointment. After hearing that conversation...and knowing I had already been waiting over 20 minutes myself...I spoke up and said that I also had a 6:00 appointment. The other woman left because she was understandably frustrated, and then the staff proceeded to ignore me. I get it if they are busy, but the fact that there was no communication between any one of their employees or me was ridiculous. I finally asked how much longer they think it would be. They said they were finishing a design. (Even though they were about to stop the design to work on the nails of the woman that came in 10 minutes after me) I asked again, and they told me about 20 more minutes. So I was told to wait 40 minutes before coming back, then waited another 20 minutes after I arrived, only to be told to wait an additional 20 minutes. That's completely unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful of customers' time. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never be coming here again.

I made an appointment and showed up on time, and I got seated right away. I waited for about 15-20 minutes before someone started on my nails since the person I signed up for was running behind. They did communicate that with me, but I would've appreciated quicker service, especially since I had an appointment. As for my nails, I loved the color and the service I got. My nail tech was friendly and took her time. That said, my nails started chipping at about a week and a half, which was very disappointing. Now after 2 weeks, they are chipping significantly. Overall I am not happy that my nails didn't last at least 2 weeks.

They take their time, really listen to what you want, and offer great suggestions and tips to help bring your inspiration picture to life. The salon is clean, they use organic products, and they have a great selection of current brands and colors in both dip and gel. For my set, she actually combined both options, which turned out beautifully. I also love how well my nails grow out between appointments--they continue to look good as they grow. The attention to detail really makes a difference. I had previously tried another popular salon in Glen Ellyn, and unfortunately, even a basic French manicure there was subpar compared with the quality I consistently get here. I'll definitely continue coming back!
