It's clean, everyone is friendly and every person who has done my nails has done an excellent job. I was going to Kay for a bit, then hung and yesterday Kenny did my nails and he did so well. The shape is just what I wanted and my biggest issue with dip powder is sometimes it can be too thick...not when you have any of these 3 guys doing your nails. My 2 daughters and I moved to this salon a couple of years ago, but we are not "regulars". Today we had an extra special visit. 3 basic pedicures, 3 different types of manicures. We were warmly greeted, offered water, and our 3 techs were so kind and talented. We also got to sit together. Best part - I am using a scooter as I have a broken foot. My tech said just stay here in your predicate chair and I'll do your fingernails here! Such a sweet thing for her to do. 2nd time at Magic Nails and very disappointed! compared to the first visit which was fantastic today was horrible. I guess it depends on the nail tech doing your toes. Nail polish has been on my feet for over an hour and still tacky and not dry. Asked to do something and told no can't do, then they dug into my skin which bled. We were rushed through our pedicures and had sloppy, fast because a guy walked by and said people were walking in and asked how long till they were done with us. We were given cold towels on legs, and they said the machine was broken. They had to use the microwave to warm them up. Absolutely horrible experience! I am still in shock and shaking from the disrespectful treatment. I have come here for the past 4+ years without incident. A loyal customer. Today I had an appointment at 4pm and while in the pedicure chair was approached by one of the owners who told me they could only do a limited service because they have someone with an appointment at 5 pm. This made absolutely no sense to me as I was already a paying customer with an appointment onsite. I inquired as to why I could not get the service that I made an appointment for as well as why would there be preferential treatment for another customer...Who wasn't even there yet. I was just told we are sorry it just CAN'T be done. This is unacceptable. It would be understandable if I were a walk in. They acknowledged that it was their fault for overbooking. There were no attempts made to contact the customer (as they have done on many occasions) that had the later appointment and/or have several of the people who are standing around assist me. Again, zero effort to provide the service. I was with someone else who finished their service about 30 minutes later. In that time period, I observed them take the 5 o'clock appointment and do an extra service (one that she did not have an appointment for) with two people servicing her PLUS the owner take care of other customers. None of which were told that they could not get a service. To be clear, I had an appointment and was told I could only get basic services because there were other customers who needed services. Preferential treatment is never OK. There are so many reasons that come to mind on why it was given but I will not make assumptions. There are many professional nail salons in the Naperville area. Let me start by saying that I've been here multiple times in the past probably over 20 times. I've had great experiences almost all those times. But today when I went with my mom and sister we all didn't receive the best quality service. For example for our pedicures, our feet weren't scrubbed very well at all and only one of my foot's toes were filed. And with the manicures none of us had our cuticles touched at all and there was no hot towel service or anything. Not worth the $50 we each spent. Overall all of our nails turned out fine which is why I'm at least happy with the results, but not the experience at all. I'm not usually one to complain about services and I have recommended Magic Nails to many people, but unfortunately after this time I'm not sure if I will be returning. This is my new favorite nail spa in Naperville. It was clean and beautiful on the inside and I was taken care of right away without an appointment on a Wednesday at 11am. I got a dip manicure with tips for and a design for $55. Depending on where you go, when you get a more intricate manicure (dip/acrylic/gel), they'll leave out the actual "manicure" part (trimming cuticles, massage/lotion, etc). My technician Kathy really took her time and spent almost an hour on my nails and didn't leave out anything. For the price, I thought it was a top-notch experience. One more thing: this manicure is built to LAST. I had it on for almost five weeks and there was no chipping, peeling, or breaking (that I typically experience with acrylics/gel). In fact, I tried to remove them myself, and the powder still held on tight even after soaking them in acetone for 15 minutes! I had to go to another salon to get them removed for $10. I would recommend Kathy to anyone looking for someone who is willing to spend more time making sure your experience is perfect! I included a day-of and five week after photo. read more

I used to go here pretty often. The service and quality was usually great. But not this time. I got a no chip and within the SAME DAY it chipped. I went back to get it fixed and they tried to act like I didn't come to their salon and that it was MY FAULT because my nail had "cracked". Well, if the person who did my nails had prepped them the correct way, they wouldn't have cracked. The rest of my gel polish from other fingers is chipping and coming off. I have never got a no chip that has completely came off within a day and a week. Anyways, my sister got a full set and her nail BROKE and the nail polish was fading off within a week. I received a pedicure and no-chip manicure 2 weeks ago. First of all, the place is very dirty (floors are gross, nail clippings everywhere.) For the pedicure, all he did was trim my nails and file a tiny bit- no buffing or cuticle trimming. Then for the no chip manicure, he did not put the polish all the way down to the cuticle line, so it looked grown out within a week. Chipping on multiple nails after 1 week. Sat down for a dip and the technician began to rush through removal process while managing to cut my finger with the drill. My finger was cut so deep it was bleeding immediately. This could have easily been avoided with attention to detail and focus. Then he proceeded to pour acetone on it causing extreme burning. Wait then the owner walks over looks at my hand and says something in their language and both chuckle and she walked away. This happened more than once while I let the removal process continue. I finally asked them to just leave my nails alone and let me leave. Terrible & very unprofessional service. This place............... Apologies....I had to pause for a moment to take in and cherish how great my experience was. I don't even know where to begin. Let me just start by saying I'm a long time Magic Nail customer. I frequent the location in Willowbrook. I saw the Magic Nail sign driving down Route 59 on my way home. My eyes lit up! Partially because I did not realize they had a Naperville location, but also because my nails were tips at this point with a dyer fill-in needed. I was warmly greeted when I entered by Nicki, the manager. The interior looks very luxurious and beautiful. Very clean and brand new. They mentioned being open for 7 weeks. I was short on time and was able to get a no chip fill and pedicure at the same time, which automatically gains extra extra points when that service is available to save time. Ron did an amazing job on my nails. I have a gel overlay with no chip, which can often look like chicklet nails when done poorly. Ron did amazing thinning out the layers making them look stunningly natural. Lee Lee did my pedicure, which I wasn't going to even get by the way, but did when they offered to do at the same time. I just got a pedicure about a week and a half ago that was not even worth mentioning. Lee Lee went to town on my feet. I don't even have bad feet, but she was attending to detail and hitting crevasses like never before. It was the most thorough well executed pedicure I have ever had. Plus an extended massage was included. Needless to say, this place was nothing short of AMAZING! (Please stay that way!) Must visit nail shop if you live near or simply don't mind driving. I have been going here for years (since they opened). I've had some experiences where I was double booked/asked to move my appointments based on conflicting schedules or an issue with my tech. But I've also been the recipient of people moving to support my needs as well. My point here is that like any business, things happen. I book my appointments at the end of every appointment for the next time. I try to ensure the person booking knows when I'll need extra time based on my ask for my nails (I tend to like over the top designs). Just be realistic about expectations, appreciate that these technicians are people who are showing up daily (more than many these days), and often work without many breaks. If you have concerns or issues, just discuss in a way that is how you would want to be treated. (Sorry for long winded post but I hate when people complain but don't recognize the good as well.) I see the same tech, Kathy. She is AMAZING!!! I come in with new challenges almost every visit and she does great. I HIGHLY recommend her. I get dip on my nails and no chip on my toes. I get my nails done every 3 weeks and toes monthly. I have not had any issues with my nails nor toes outside of popping some rhinestones (but that's because I'm hard on my nails). Kathy often will spend 3+ hours on my nails due to my crazy designs. My mother in law even goes to Kathy when she's visiting from out of state and has repeatedly said how much she loves how long her no chip lasts compared to her nail salons near her. I cannot attest to every tech but Kathy is my go to without fail. Let me just start off by saying that is one of the best nail salons in Naperville. With that being said, my last experience made me never want to come back. I have been consistently going to this salon for the past 8 months, every three weeks pretty much on the dot.. spending plenty of money when you think that a no-chip manicure is $40 a pop not including tip. I loved Magic Nails because of being able to go in at any time and being able to be taken care of within 10 minutes of walking in, even without an appointment. Unfortunately, this last time was very different. I walked in and was told about 5 minutes, someone was on break. No problem at all.. except for 25 minutes passed and nothing. Finally, someone came to get me after seeing plenty of technicians sitting there twiddling their thumbs. I was not introduced to my technician, otherwise I would provide a name. I had a previous no-chip manicure on and I was wrapped and left for 20+ minutes with no explanation and another technician coming over to me and asking "did he just leave you? where did he go??" Once my technician came back, he wreaked of smoke for the remainder of the service. I totally understand needing a break, but come on man I'm paying for your time. Unfortunately, it only got worse from there.. my technicians phone was going ballistic and he continually answered it and finally put in an apple headphone and ignored me. The worst part comes next, he looks at me and stops my manicure and says "please wait, okay?" and continues to FaceTime someone on his phone on his lap for a few minutes. Finally this nightmare was coming to an end when it came to me checking out. Normally I'll give a strong tip because I loved this place so much, but once my technician came for me to pay, instead of telling me how much my service was, all he asked was "how much for tip?" Excuse me?? What an awkward thing to ask.
