The milk and honey spa treatment was very nice, relaxing, and got rid of most of my callouses. I have flat feet that are often sore and rough as a result of overuse and strain. After the massage and spa treatment, my feet were buttery smooth, and still actively feeling much less sore than they usually do! Which seems like such a minor thing, but really makes a positive difference in how I feel overall. I've never had a spa treatment so thorough and gentle. And, it remedied a unique issue that no other salons have, in my experience! The nail artist was very kind and treated my feet and legs with careful, gentle attention. Every employee that I spoke to was also very friendly. The lounge itself was very clean, and the massage chairs were comfy without digging into my back like most other chairs in salons do. Honestly, the best massage and foot care I've ever received!
Now for the negatives that brought my review to a 2 star. I booked a gel-x pedicure and spa appointment last weekend for the following Tuesday. But, as of today (5 days later), all of the polish has peeled off in big pieces, minus my right big toe (though the polish has noticeably chipped). When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk employees couldn't find my booking, and had asked me what services I requested, which I found strange but ultimately decided to just reiterate what I came in for. They were still confused, and couldn't seem to locate my booking at all. Regardless, I still went forward with my appointment in the hopes that all would be sorted. The nail stylist I had was also not made aware of any of the services I requested, and I expressed 3 separate times that I wanted a gel-x, no chip French tip style pedicure.
In less than a week's time, my toenails are now brittle, ashy looking due to the polish taking off keratin with it, itchy, and in worse shape than they were before I got a pedicure here. Paid *way* too much money to not even get all of what I asked for. I'd like to reiterate that the staff were all very kind and did their best to be accommodating. But, having paid $100 for the incomplete service, and having left a pretty large tip at a place I've only just tried out, only to have my feet now looking worse than before is pretty hard to swallow. I'm not rich by any means, so this soured me on my overall experience review a great deal.
I will likely not be coming back, and advise this establishment to get a better booking system for their clients that lists every service they requested, as well as date and time of bookings to better ensure service accuracy and overall satisfaction. I had absolutely no digital or paper trail to confirm my appointment before or after, and as a result will likely not be able to dispute the charge and receive any sort of compensation, which is frustrating. I really wish things would've gone the way they were meant to! That's a lot of money for a less than ideal outcome. I came to this establishment in the hopes of doing something kind for myself after having had a very hard year and losing a loved one on my birthday the month prior. One hurdle after the other, and now I'm out over $100 on a service that was meant to be a gift to myself. I'm disappointed and saddened at how the polish service turned out, and feel upset every time I see my now brittle, chalky toenails.
The booking system at this salon seems to be non-existent at worst and decorative at best, and communication amongst the staff to ensure service accuracy needs serious work, which I later discovered is not an isolated opinion due to other clients having similar experiences. I hope these issues get addressed, and that bookings and services are done properly, so as to prevent negative/disappointing experiences in the future.
Ultimately, I hope that this place builds on all of the good that they've got, and that they are able to provide more consistent, accurate services for any current or future clients. I'm certain that my experience was not meant to be unsatisfactory, and that the staff did what they could to provide a good experience. But, it ultimately didn't wind up working out that way. I wish all the best for them!
