I love Uptown Nails. The service is good. Dana is my girl! Never rushes me & does a great job. Only problem may be communication. Other than that Jennie the owner strives on giving the best service. read more

Love the customer service here! I have never had to wait for an appointment! I always walk in and someone is always available to see me! My friends and I love to go together and get their mani/pedi special! Sometimes we like to treat ourselves to a design! Terri is AMAZING and so creative and I highly recommend her for any fun design! She can literally do any design!!! read more

The pedicure was good but I got a bacterial nail infection from the manicure (different person). Won't be going back.

Weird place in the Burg off John Tyler in a somewhat empty shopping center where half the businesses look like they are failing! This spot is kinda hidden by a daycare but on the upside that means they have plenty of parking, typical strip mall joint. I went here a couple years back and then again yesterday and still I can't really say this place will ever wow me. I wanna like this place because of the diverse employees and the large space but they place looks clutter and customer service/ professionalism is an issue here as well as some technical stuff. They offer lots of services, I've had my toes, hands, Brazilian and eyebrows done here before. I would love to try the ear candling but I think this probably isn't the most sanitary spot to do so. My pedicure was okay, I went for a second time for a callus removal and the lady attending me kept trying to tell me my current polish should be changed after I refused 3 times. Manicure was alright, I know nail salons have a tendency for the juiciest gossips but I hate hearing technicians talk about customers, especially when they just left the store. I highly encourage anyone looking to get a Brazilian NOT to go here. The girl who did my wax was highly untrained and clumsy. While she was nice and made me feel comfortable she clearly did not use the right kind of wax and this was hands down the most painful Brazilian ever! I recently came here to rid of unsightly facial hairs and bushy eyebrows and must say this was awkwardly the best experience I had. I was greeted immediately, however there wasn't a place for me to sit down and wait. Since I waited a while I looked around the place browsing some of the merchandise they had to offer. Polish, buffers and nail clippers are understandable but I'm not sure why they some other things in there like old lady hats, knock off purses and cheap jewelry. I think they should just get rid of that gaudy crap and make a seating area. Overall, this place is just eh. If I'm in desperate need of a quick wax than I impulsively might come back if I'm in the area. However, I'll stick to my usual spots for now. read more

Nails Uptown is located in an otherwise dead space of strip mall, right off 199. However, when I went in at 5pm on a Monday night, the place was bustling with women (and men!) getting mani's and pedi's. They have a good polish selection (a good amount of OPI) and a separate rooms for pampering fingernails and toenails. I went in for a pedi ($19 on Mondays and Tuesdays), and got the callus removal upgrade for $5. It was well worth the $24! My pedicurist (?) was very friendly, and very good. While my feet aren't quite as soft as the day I was born, they're a lot closer than they were before the soak, scrub & buffing. There were plenty of magazines (some on the older side), and with the exception of one somewhat-obnoxious man (who kept talking, loudly, about his various Asian ex-girlfriends/wives/fiancees), my fellow pedicuree's were all very friendly and sociable. The salon isn't particularly fancy, but it was bright and clean; exactly what you'd want out of a $20 pedicure in a strip mall! All in all, I will definitely be returning to Nails Uptown in the future! read more

One of the best manicures and gel polish along with one of the BEST pedicures and polish I have had in a long time! Everyone was friendly, accommodating and just a great way to relax! Will be back the next time we are in the area! Great YELP deal!! read more

Year by year, the quality of service continues to gone down at this place. The nail and wax services services are mediocre and the some of the ladies who work here are extremely rude. read more

While the staff here (especially Jenny, the owner) are SUPER NICE, it's just kind of.... meh. I went here for quite a while becuase of the attraction of the cheap price, but after getting no consistent quality, I just couldn't take it anymore. If you're just looking for a really basic job, this can do it, I guess. While the salon was never dirty, it also just never seemed squeaky clean, either. I think the emphasis is more on quantity over quality. read more

I went here because I kept hearing all of the amazing reviews. I was very disappointed. The person that did my pedicure rushed the entire thing. I paid for the pedicure and the hot rock treatment. Didn't receive a massage at all and the "hot rock treatment" lasted all of one minute. Then he burnt me with the paraffin wax. I've had this done many times and never has the wax been that hot that it literally left burn marks. Even after I told him it was too hot he just kept saying it would cool down (which it really didn't, because it was that hot). I found a much better pedicure place thankfully so I won't be returning here. read more

My new nail place! I called on a whim, desperately needing a mani/pedi but short on time. I went in on a Wednesday at 2:30 and was out by 3:30 (with DRY nails). Everyone was super nice and friendly. Since I was short on time and they had the staff I was able to get the mani/pedi at the same time! They didnt skimp on the service because I was in a rush, they did great work and I will be back. Hailey was my nail tech and I found her to be incredibly sweet. read more

I came here when I was out of town with my mom. This was one of the best pedicures I've ever had. It's been three weeks and no chipping at all! They were so sweet. I will be back when I go down to visit. read more

I don't even know where to begin. The salon is very nice. It was busy when I came but I only waited a few minutes.and excuse me if this comes off wrong but this is the first nail salon I have been to where a lot of different races are working together. And I absolutely love it! It's amazing to see. And the atmosphere and vibe of this salon is great. The prices are reasonable. I like that they do eyebrow threading. I haven't had it done here but I will try their threading service next time I visit. read more

Incredibly friendly staff and excellent prices. they offer alot more services like parrafin wax treatments than other places I have tried in the area. Will definitely be back ! read more

awful!!!! don't go my gel nails didn't even last a week. THIS PLACE SUCKSSSSSSS!! like don't go! if this nail place was the only place in my state i would drive out of state to go to another place that's how bad it is!!!! PERIODTTTT read more

Having fun getting my toes and nails done! They have a very friendly staff and the place is really nice! Shoutout to Dana and Jesse! Thank you! read more

Everyone was very friendly and there were enough stations available to accommodate appointments and walk-ins. However, I never saw anything get cleaned! My nail tech used some hand sanitizer (so did I, without being asked) at the beginning, but there was no autoclave, and all the tools were just sitting in a jar or a drawer. I couldn't wait to get home to wash my hands!! I Needless to say, I won't return. Nice place, but questionable sanitary practices. read more

I brought me daughter here for a friends birthday. All the girls got kids pedicures. The place is dirty, smells awful(and not just the acrylic smell), and has lousy service. I was seriously worried about my kid getting a fungus it was so dirty. Never saw anyone clean anything. Also they have far too many stations crammed into this location. You literally rub elbows with your neighbor. The girl that did my daughters pedicure repeatedly left for long periods of time. And at the end she did not finish and just left us waiting for about 15 minutes. I finally had to go find someone and ask if they planned on finishing the service! She begrudgingly came back and hastily finished. Worst pedicure ever. I will never go back and I tell everyone to avoid this hack shop. Unless you like rude, inattentive shops. read more

The fumes are horrible, I left with a head ache. Technician was hard to understand, and rough. The smell of the fumes alone will keep me from going back EVER!! And don't get me started on the quality of service. read more

Had a positive experience my first visit for a pedicure and will return. I was treating myself to more add-ons than usual, but sometimes you should do so. read more

I absolutely LOVE Nails Uptown. My nails always come out with an excellent, gorgeous manicure (and occasionally pedicure) and I'm always pleased with the kind people working there. My daughter loves the kids section and has fun sitting in the cute little chairs and putting her feet in the colorfully-lighted water. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who's in need of a great nail salon. They also offer services like eyebrow threading and hair feathers, last time I checked. read more

THIS RATING IS FOR EYEBROW WAXING ONLY! I would not recommend anybody getting their eyebrows waxed here. They don't take their time and they let anybody in the shop do them. I went to get them done out of desperate need. I normally go to someone else but they closed the shop early and I really needed my eyebrows done. I use to get them done here when I was in high school, and I knew there was a reason I stopped. My eyebrows look the same as they did when I walked in. They don't look cleaned up at all. I still have wax around my eyebrows because she did not get it off. I will not go back again to get my eyebrows done, even if it is in desperate need. Besides the eyebrows, I get my nails and feet done every so often and have not had issues. Find anybody else first before deciding to get your eyebrows done here. read more

I like the atmosphere there and cannot beat the prices for the area. Also like that they serve Smoothies or other drinks while you're there so you can relax! I received the Spa pedicure which was what I needed after a long week at work. The spa package is a great deal including hot towels, paraffin wax, mud, salt scrub and lotion. The only complaint I have was that my nail polish was of poor quality and actually started to run off my nails after leaving the salon. I sat underneath the drying booth for a good ten minutes or more after the pedicure and the nail polish just ran off my nails! I will return and perhaps bring my own color next time but I don't foresee this as an issue in the future. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon as a walk in, so I expected maybe a 10 minute wait, but there was no wait whatsoever! The place is HUGE and fully staffed so there is always space. Got a mani pedi for only $28, which is unheard of where I'm from. And for such a low price, they really took their time and did a great job. My mani was at first a little smudged, and when I asked them to fix it they went all out and made sure it was perfect for me! Everybody was so kind, friendly and accommodating. And free mimosas didn't hurt ;) The only thing was it didn't seem quite as clean as other nail salons I've been to, but nothing alarming other than one of the employees eating while walking around and sitting at the mani tables (seems gross to me). I will definitely be going back, overall a great experience and price compared to other nail salons I've been to. Highly recommend! read more

This is the 3rd bad experience I have had at this salon.... front desk staff is friendly however, it is very unclean and does not practice safe sanitary procedures required by the state. I will be finding another place asap! read more

I must say this was the best experience I've had at a nail salon in a long time. Kudos to the owner Jenny. I haven't been here in a while. However, because my work schedule changed I found my way in the doors. Boy am I glad I did. Smart business move by the way being open on Sundays. Only nail salon I know to be open. I say all this to say BRITTANY IS THE BEST. I can not stress that enough. If you go there make sure you sit in her chair. Can I say perfectionist!? It was so refreshing to meet someone just like me. Particular that is. I asked for a specific design on my nails and she did just that. Nailed it. She is definitely a asset to the business. Made me not just get a fill but a pedicure as well. It was heavenly. I expressed that I am a runner doing 5miles a day and my lower legs bother me from time to time. She said," no worries I got you." My legs were no longer tense. It was much needed. Jenny has a great employee. Brittany you did your thang girl! I thank you. read more

I love this place! It's better to make an appointment, because it does get very busy. Inndia makes my nails look better than they ever have!!!! I highly recommend her! read more

It was a nice place. Dropped in while I was out having mandatory fun day. This salon is clean, and they do offer wine with your pedi which I enjoyed. read more

HORRIBLE stay away from this salon!!!!! Do not recommend to anyone. In 45 minutes mani and paid was done. After I pointed out that the manicure was poorly done the owner just looked and said its takes 2 hours for it to dry. Than she tried to fix it with alcohol and putting more color on it. At the end I just talked her to take off the color. They still charged me for mani. read more

Hope and Hailey kept us happy and entertained today as my daughter and I enjoyed spa pedicures.... Then Terry did an excellent job on nails and suggested eye lash extensions and brow tint. I couldn't have been happier with our services today! read more

My best friend and I came here to get our prom mani/pedi done! We came the day before and thankfully it wasn't too crowded. We were directed to sit down almost right away which was nice, but we had to wait about 10-15 minutes until a nail tech came to our seats. Although he was nice, I could smell cigarette smoke on him. I hope it didn't bother my friend. Our nails turned out AMAZING!! I got almond-shaped sparkly silver acrylics which are beautiful and go great with my dress. The PRICE was great too. I used a gift certificate (for mani/pedi) and paid the difference (of about $14) for my acrylic nails (only fingernails were acrylic). I do have a pretty major complaint though. During my pedicure, the nail tech massaged my feet, but it was a bit too rough. She wasn't massaging the arch of my foot enough, and was pushing too hard on my bone. Now, the ball of my right foot hurts pretty badly and I'm not sure how I'll do tomorrow at prom with my heels. Ouch.... read more

A good thing about the salon is that they can accommodate a lot of people at once. You can pretty much always walk in and get a chair right away. But that also gives it an impersonal "nail factory" feel. There's a lot of chaos on busy days and it feels rushed. Also some of the cleanliness suffers because of acrylic dust and the quick turnover on the pedi bowls. read more

This place is huge- but cluttered and not extremely inviting as far as the decor- I overlooked all that and took place and set down for my service the gel manicure was great but the pedicure was AMAZING!!! So relaxing which I needed. The hot stone massage was the best part it must have been 25 minutes alone in a massage. I definitely will be driving the hour to come here again and be pampered next time having my husband join to enjoy a pedicure as well. read more

I love this place! Prices are great and the technicians do a great job. I've been going here for almost 10 years. Jenny, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

I came to uptown as a personal birthday present which I explained when I first came into the establishment I was barely greeted before I was pushed into a corner to pick a color like I know what 1000 bottles of polish which one so finally some one comes up to help and none of the colors I wanted they even had after being rushed to pick any color I wasn't offered any services just rushed and as nice as everyone may be attention to detail for the price I'm paying doesn't match up my gel nails after not even 2 days is already chipping and you can see how bulky the gel over lay is just overall I'm very disappointed at how you guys can rush thru a job but I spent 70 plus 20 dollar tip you really should stop treating customers as dollar signs and do your job hopefully next time I'll be treated better read more

Wonderful locally owned business. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that it is often so crowded that you have to wait for a chair! The Monday mani/pedi special for $25 is the best bargain in town! read more

I used to go to this salon all the time for years. It seems that things have gone down hill. On my most recent visits I can't help but feel like all they are about his quantity and not quality. I have now ventured out to other nail salons to find a better place. If I'm going to the salon I want to feel somewhat pampered, but here you feel very pushed out the door for the next customer. I will say that everyone there is very nice and they have the best waxing in town. read more

I was unable to go to my regular nail salon before my trip to Williamsburg. I found Nails Uptown online and read reviews, which were great. Nails Uptown did not disappoint.
