I gave this salon multiple chances because my first two experiences were positive, but my visit on June 4 completely changed my opinion and ensured that I will not be returning. My first appointment was in April for a short square acrylic French tip set. The nails came out beautiful, and while I felt the $85 charge for a soak-off and new set was higher than many other salons in Jacksonville, I was happy with the final result. I returned in mid-May for a fill-in, which cost $60. Again, I thought the price was steep for a fill, but the work was done well enough that I decided to come back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, my experience on June 4 was unacceptable from both a service and customer service standpoint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came in for another fill and specifically requested that my nails remain the same length and shape. I have consistently worn square nails during my visits to this salon. The nail technician working on me began filing away a significant amount of the acrylic despite my request to keep the length. I also noticed that she only applied acrylic to the grown-out area rather than rebalancing the entire nail, leaving my nails feeling extremely thin and vulnerable to breaking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As she continued shaping them, I noticed my square nails were being filed into a coffin shape. I politely asked if the sides could be straightened because they looked too curved. Since there was a language barrier, another employee came over to assist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of addressing my concern, I was told that the shape had changed because the technician was "following the shape of my natural nails" and that hitting or banging my hands could change the shape. As someone who has been getting acrylic nails for over 15 years, I know the difference between normal wear and a nail being reshaped during a fill. The explanation made no sense and felt dismissive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I reiterated that I wanted square nails, the same shape I originally came in with, I was told that if I wanted square nails, I should get a completely new set. I found this confusing because I wasn't asking for a different shape; I was asking for the same shape I have had during every visit. When I questioned this, the employee and the technician laughed. Whether that was their intention or not, it came across as incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. There was nothing funny about the situation from my perspective and I felt my concerns were being dismissed rather than addressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The employee then stated that I was clearly unhappy and suggested stopping the service altogether. At that point, I agreed, got up and left. I spent my time coming to the appointment, sitting through the service and trying to communicate my concerns, only to leave without a resolution and in a worse mood than when I arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What makes this even more frustrating is the inconsistency in pricing. My previous fill was $60, but this visit I was quoted $55. There seems to be little transparency regarding pricing from one appointment to the next. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To be fair, management did reach out to me after the incident, apologized for my experience and offered me 20% off a future service with one of their more experienced technicians. I appreciate the gesture and the fact that they took the time to contact me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the issue was never just about the nails themselves, it was about how my concerns were handled in the moment. After feeling dismissed, argued with and laughed at, I simply do not feel comfortable returning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's disappointing because my first two visits were positive and that's the only reason I came back. Unfortunately, this experience overshadowed those previous visits. Came here to just fix one of my nails because it broke. She examined my nails and recommended that I get acrylic this time and then SNS down the road as my nails were really flimsy and needed to grow out some more. Acrylics are not my favorite but I decided to trust her. She ended up doing a beautiful job on my nails and was able to use the same color I had wanted in SNS. you can really tell she takes pride in her work. The staff were extremely rude, and it was obvious they're haters, constantly gossiping about every client, which was translated, sad thing is they don't have the audacity to say it in English hahaha! Shit is annoying af, and low life like. Particularly, theres a blonde, overweight lady who seemed to be leading the gossiping. It was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a service industry where customers should feel valued and respected. But that wasn't even the worst part. The hygiene standards at this place are non-existent. The tools they used looked dirty, and the workstation was covered in dust and nail clippings from previous customers. I didn't see any proper sanitation practices being followed at all. My nail technician was rough and clearly not skilled. Nasty ass attitude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The combination of bought licenses, unprofessional behavior, poor hygiene, and lack of skill makes this the worst nail salon I've ever visited. I have been to this nail salon multiple times before and have had okay experiences. Nothing that screams great or bad. However, today my boyfriend wanted to treat me and took me for a pedicure. The nail tech was standing in front of the door staring out directly at us making me feel quite uncomfortable. They completely changed the check in area to be bigger which is nice. Once I went to check in, one of the workers was very demanding in speech. There were multiple techs around us staring at me. I stated I wanted a pedicure and he immediately looked at my bf and asked if he was getting one too, we said no and he looked annoyed. I shared that he was paying, I asked for a basic pedicure. He tried to sell me on something higher in price. I explained I have sensitive skin and can't have scents on my legs so I would get a basic pedicure and asked if he could only do my feet with the product. He looked at me with either a confused and judgmental face. He told my bf to stay up front. And he took me back. One of the ladies told my bf to go sit next to me so I asked the man if he could. He said no. I asked why? (Because I have been here before and they always let us.) they said bc their boss says that the seats are for customers. This is understandable but they had 3 clients and an empty salon. I was already frustrated and uncomfortable. The attitude I received overwhelmed me with anxiety, I let him know I did not want to get a service anymore. He said okay and left me with my feet in the water. So, I dried my feet got up and told my bf that we have to leave. We went next door to buy supplies for myself. Can you believe the manager was there and tried to offer me 20% off and allow my bf to sit next to me. Why couldn't have that been accommodated while I was there before leaving upset? When looking seemed like they had a solid and higher rating. Place looked clean so I decided to check them out. Friendly staff: they all treated me and welcomed me with me as a walk-in. They were all dressed in professionally. The Con's: Oh boy! I was so hoping this place was going to work out. There were so many solid and great reviews but when I pulled up, I should have gone with my gut instinct, but, I decided to go in. After I sat down, I was given a stack of assorted colors to choose from and when I picked my color, she said I will give you a gel pedicure? I said no thank you, just a regular pedicure and normal nail polish. She kept pushing the gel but I kept refusing. She then kept asking me if I wanted several other services which I decline but she wouldn't listen. Ok, I finally was able to get her to stop. As I am soaking I am looking around and noticed mail clippings around each of the tubs next to me and grime that had not been cleaned which seemed like forever. As I'm looking around because now I'm concerned with the sanitation of this place. I should have stopped the service and left but I did. The lady brought out her box of supplies and tools. I noticed nothing is sanitized or new as they claim on their website so it's false advertisement right there. I asked my gal to bring out new tools because this is a huge health code violation and you can pass infection's and spread bacteria by not properly sanitizing or cleaning. How many people before me were the tools used on that she was going to use on me? My polish is already chipping after 2 days and I have cut cuticles that I hope do not become infected. I visited nails com for a pedicure & a gel manicure. The pedicure was good, however I was disappointed with the color of my polish, it definitely didn't match the color I chose from their selection. Other than that, he did provide nice clean job but I cannot say the same for my manicure. First, I showed the technician a photo of a nice pinkish nude and asked if I could see the selection of OPI gels--they list OPI gel manicures as an option. She told me that they did not have that color and recommended a bright pink. I asked her about dip powder, she said she didn't recommend because they would not have that color. After telling her I was getting married and did not want a bright color she grabbed a few options for me to see. They were in fact OPI polishes so I was very confused. She then tried to convince me that the color wouldn't show and that I should get French--once again not what I wanted. At this point I was willing to just pay for the manicure and get my nails polished elsewhere. While trimming my cuticles she clipped too far and made me bleed. After washing my hands, I began to bleed again and she tried to apply NAIL GLUE to stop the bleeding. Unacceptable. Only giving 2 stars for the man that provided the pedicure. I came here for the first time for acrylics and pedi. Firstly, there's no prices on the website but the reviews on Google looked good so I decided to try it. They advertise lots of discounts but don't like to give them at check out. I heard another client arguing about it when she was paying up. I was entitled to 10% off as I was a new client and it was my birthday but she would only give me 7% discount. My nails are fine, happy with the quality however after the acrylic and color application, the lady started to vigorously file my nails without ensuring my skin wasn't stuck to the acrylic and she cut me and it bled, all she said was oops, sorry. And still couldn't give me a full 10% discount. There's a pot of nail tools ( mainly nail clippers) that I'm guessing are used between clients as there was so sign of them being cleaned for my use or after me. Generally covered in nail dust. This is my favorite place to get my eyebrows waxed, especially since I've been going to this salon for the past two years. The service is always friendly, quick, and efficient. The salon is big and room-y, with ample seating so I never fear being a walk in here. The staff are always welcoming and the salon offers tons of services from manis to pedis to waxes and eyelash extensions. I went to Nails.com on Monday, November 4. I have been to this salon on other occasions and I was very satisfied with the service. But this particular day was very bad. The tech rushed my pedicure. She seemed to be more interested in the team that was cleaning the salon, than taking care of my needs. As soon as I left the salon, I looked at my toenails and saw that they were jagged from where she did not completely cut the toenails nor did she not use a file to file down the rough edges. I called to see if they did chrome nails and to see how much it would be! I was told by Katie it would be $23 for a set and $13 for chrome! So I went in to get them done. He asked if it was my first time in, I said yes. He told me how they have the vent so it's good for your health. It smells strong in there the vent must not been working. So as he is putting on the tips I asked to about price and to see samples of the nails in chrome. He tells me the chrome chips (I don't understand why it chips if there is gel on top) and then said $23 for set, $15 for gel and an other $15 for chrome. So now my $36 nails just jumped to $53. I went here Last Sunday for my birthday my granddaughter wanted us to get a pedicure it was a treat on her . She is 16 and saves her money from babysitting. I had never been so disappointed in my life . I put a post on the neighborhood app. I want to know since we paid $245 for 2 pedicures and only got the cheapest one. My granddaughter got a acrylic nails the quaked her a $100 and she had them put on just plain French manicure. Everyone on the neighborhood app said that was r ridiculous. It hurt my granddaughter since she didn't have that much money so I helped her pay for . I have gotten names of other nail salons that are far less. The fact that I got a pedicure was rude and nasty plus I am disabled to lift one leg she would not lift my leg made another person do it put in and out of water. She was rude and I am disabled I know she made my feel awful. I left there so made I came back and verified the places. Please do not go there. They are way overpriced and have people working there that are rude and make you feel uncomfortable. I will never go there again and will tell everyone about the place and prices. Shame on you Nails. Nails.com has 2 locations: One on Southside and one on Beach Blvd. I am only rating the Beach Blvd location. See Phil for minx nails, CND shellac UV gel polish, and other services. Shellac and Minx are the new aged treatments for nails. I tried Shellac because I haven't had nails in awhile. I used to spend alot of money on pink and whites because they look very pretty. Shellac is applied like nail polish. You spend about 20 minutes under the UV lamp and it hardens up like acryllic. You can have it painted like regular acryllics or regular finger nails. I opted for just a glossy UV top coat. Magazines are calling this a sensational treatment because it lasts about 2 weeks! Costs $25. Easily removed by an acetone nail polish remover. Pedicures are $19, Manicures are $9. That is the advertised special. I've been pleased with the Shellac that I've told everyone at work about it. I was out of town for a class and told 3 people about it because they noticed my nails. Would definitely recommend Shellac. read more

What can I say, my expectations were WAY too high for this place and not only did I give them one chance but two, which I was disappointed BOTH times. On my first visit, I called to make an appointment and specified that I wanted square shape as I have been disappointed on how other salons have accommodated my request. I would think that this would be the easiest shape to provide. I was ensured that any of the technicians there are able to give me the shape that I wanted. I was in fact told that on the phone and again when I arrived for my appointment and I reiterated that I have been unhappy with other places. "Yes, EVERYONE here can do" is was I was told once and then again. WRONG!! Ken was the first tech I saw. He was in a huge hurry to get through my service. He was not thorough with my pedicure and when it came to my nails, he was trying to sell me on a new full set which I had just done the previous time I had my nails done. He charged me for a cut down, was supposed to be $3 but I believe he charged me for almost every nail that he filed down. He was in such a hurry that when he was shaping my nails he filed into my finger so deep it was bleeding profusely and took almost two weeks to completely heal. Again, I was unhappy with the shape and paid over $70 for a basic pedicure and a fill. I still left him a tip although it was undeserved. The second time I came in, I requested a female technician. Amy was the lady that did my next service. She did a much better pedicure and actually took time with my feet but when she was trimming the cuticles, she cut me. When I flinched from being hurt she started laughing. Not sure what is funny about causing pain to someone but she got a kick out of it. When it came to my fingers, again I asked for a sharp square shape. Not what I ended up with. She even asked me at one point if I wanted the corners rounded and I said "No, I like them as sharp as possible" so she rounded them anyway. SO FRUSTERATING!! I spent over $75.00 on that visit (I got a very small design on each ring finger) and was so unhappy that I even told the salon manager that was checking me out. She said that she could easily fix the shape but I told her not to bother. Unsure how you could square off a nail that is almost oval without taking off all of the length. Sigh.... So all in all...this place is overpriced, they try to sell you on stuff you don't want or need and they are not accommodating in the least to what their customers want.
