I tried this nail salon last week based on the Google reviews more than the Yelp reviews. Sorry but there were more on Google. I asked for Tina to do both my fill in and pedicure based on the reviews. She was very friendly and I thought she did a nice job on both. The only disappointments I had were their lack of OPI products, which I really prefer, and the salon needs a little deep cleaning. There were spots that were dusty, a laundry hamper with unfolded laundry sitting out and things that just made it seem a little unkept. I think I will give her another try as she did a nice job. I do hope they get some more OPI products and do a little cleaning. It's very convenient in the Publix shopping center where I shop regularly. read more

This is a perfectly acceptable place to get your nails done - nothing fancy or "extra" but super convenient next to Publix. I visited a few years ago for a pedicure, but avoided them due my experience -- the gal asked to do a manicure, and I declined. She looked at my fingernails and made a disdainful expression - I just didn't like the vibe. (Petty, I know) Yesterday I decided to give them another try. I called ahead and made an appointment- that didn't help at all, I still had to wait 40 minutes because they were busy. My pedicure was fine. A gentleman did it, and he did a good job. The basic service was $26. No wine or water was offered, unlike some other places. TIP - I was able to leave a tip on my credit card, which was quite convenient. I tipped $5, and the lady wrote down 2.5 in a ledger... I wonder if the gentleman got the full tip, or if I should have handed him $5? Next time, I'll try to carry cash. I usually go to Bella Nail by SteinMart right up the street - it's just a llittle nicer experience. read more

My first time going to this place. Was assigned a male who I was leery about doing my fill. Turns out he winds up giving me a new set. Ok that was fine, however the worst job ever. He left part of the old acrylic on my nails and put new acrylic over even if he could not remove the entire acrylic from old set. I will post photos to show examples of what I walked out with. A total disgrace and going back to my old salon across town so they can fix! I am not that picky but I knew he was going to be a problem as he did not seem to confident and to be honest I had to ask to see his license, which was hidden in a drawer! Beware. I've been to several nail salons here in Jacksonville since moving here and let me tell you it been a challenge until I walked into this place. Now, I have to say I think I was spoiled in Atlanta so it's been hard trying to find a place that measured. Anyway, this is the closes I've come. My biggest pet-peeve is the liners and tools used. Guess what!?! They use liners and open new filers and scrubber for you. They are nice and the place is clean. Just be sure to call for an appoint.. everyone is great but I always ask for Julie for my mani and Ben for my pedi. Go and call forr your appointment now and enjoy. read more

RUN AWAY! Do you enjoy puffy nails?! If so, this is the place for you. My nails feel like they a half inch thick, it is ridiculous. I've never had gel nails be this bulky looking. I am having to go somewhere else to file down and fix my nails after paying $45 here. Save your money and go elsewhere! Nail Spa 2 down the road is so much better, they saved my friends nails! This place had also messed up my friends nails today by saying the color was going to get darker after a couple coats, which it didn't. So they refused to fix her pepto looking nails after she had picked a mauve shade! Then the lying nail tech goes on to say the old bottle they used to color the samples was different than the new bottle. How is that our problem?! Don't lie and say the shade will get darker with more coats. They need to fix their nail swatches and not layer the acrylic so thick. STAY AWAY! read more

Wow, what can I say...I'm surprised people are happy coming here. Painted my nails very sloppily and got red all over. She went to my cuticle and there was polish left on my skin. The pedi was ok, but left the hot towel on too long and got cold and itchy on my legs. When it came to polish, she got red polish on my sandals and all over my toes. She seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. I wanted a design on my big toes, but someone else walked in and she stopped my appointment and started another person and said another manicurist would do it. She left my big toes without top coat so the design could be done. I had chosen a pink for the flowers and they said they wouldn't do that color because it wouldn't show. I know it would, but I decided not to get the design after all. Then the manicurist who was working on the other girls feet comes over to paint the top coat with the same gloves used on the other client's feet!! Not sanitary! Once I noticed, it was too late and had touched me already. I said something to her, but it was too late. This place is one if the worst places I've been to. Buyer beware! read more

I've been coming to Moda off and on for well over a year. When I was getting my nails done regularly, I always came here. Even now that I only go for an occasional mani-pedi, this is the only place I go. The girls are all friendly, they take their time and do a great job. They can get busy so I recommend an appointment. Also if you want the owner, Stacey, to do your nails you almost definitely need an appointment. But she's awesome. Highly recommended! read more

I have been here a few times so far and think it is safe to say that this is my new favorite place to get my nails done. The two nail techs that I use are really good, their names are Tammy and Tina. It's pretty hard to get an appointment with them via walk In so I always call ahead. I really like this nail salon because it is clean, the receptionist along with the nail techs have always been very friendly to me and everyone's English is pretty good ,..and if there is something someone doesn't understand they will ask for help so that they will understand. They are also not salesy in my experiences, The last thing I want when I am trying to relax and get my nails done is somebody trying to sell me this and that telling me how much better it will make my nails look. I should have written a review long before now. I have done both a mani/pedi and Gel Manicure here and all have been great. It is a very clean place. For all pedicures they have the seperate linings for each basin which makes me more comfortable. They are all very attentive there. The biggest thing for me is that they are reasonable priced. They are not trying to charge you an arm and a leg for their services. I have also gotten my eyebrows done here a few times and never once have been dissatisfied. Moda was a great place!The nail techs were really nice.They close at 7:30,but they provide service to me at 7:20.I received a fill in.I didn't catch my nail techs name but she is in the station behind the register.She was nice and did my nails very neatly.They have complimentary drinks (I was only offered soda or water) but maybe she didn't think I was old enough to have a glass of wine,which is a good thing.They have a variety of nail colors and the place was really clean.I have found my new nail spa,and it's only like three minutes away from my home.Thanks for providing great customer service,I will be returning. read more

Got the same girl (with a bright pink Yeti cup) both times I went. Preparing to tip $20 both times. Each time she rushed and when a regular of hers came in (both times) she was looking to pass me off as quickly as she could. My mother is dying of cancer and I had 2 hours to relax and enjoy a manicure and pedicure. It was not relaxing and only rushed. So I split her tip with two other people in there. I will never give them my business again. I thought everyone deserved a second chance. Not this girl. read more

This was my first time here. I just got a pedi, and I LOVED the experience. My favorite part of a pedi is always the massage, and this place was fantastic. My usual place does a pretty good job but never spends that much time and and effort on the massage, but this place gave a nice hard massage and did an amazing job with the nails too.
