Just what your man needs for a quick pedicure! Went in on a Saturday morning after a cruise and the staff were excited to serve despite not having an appointment. A deluxe pedicure was $40 and was one of the better ones I've had. Friendly staff who provided a great environment and welcomed me back. read more

My favorite nail salon ever, I have been coming for over a year. I go to Tommy for my acrylic nails and they last over 3 weeks. No one does my nails like him. Will never step foot in another salon in jax, this is my spot. The owner and other techs are so nice, it's a great place to be. read more

I can't speak to the quality of their work as I left before I had my service. I made an appointment and arrived 10 minutes before in order to look over the colors available and to ensure I wasn't late. Unfortunately, the shop didn't offer the same level of respect for my appointment that I did. There were 4 technicians and 5 customers when I walked in, so my greeting was understandably from someone in the back. I informed them I had an appointment and received no acknowledgment so stood awkwardly since there was no waiting area. Someone came up to the tablet which made me assume they were getting my appointment up but she wound up checking someone out. I was still standing there until finally I was directed to a spa chair, which had just been used and I noticed was not cleaned - rather a bag was used in place of the cleaning. Now I'm used to nail salons using bags but every other one I've been to has ALSO cleaned the spa tubs as well. I sat for a few minutes, someone brought a menu but I knew what I wanted so that was a useless time killer. Many minutes later of sitting in silence, fruitlessly waiting I decided that with the lack of hygiene along with the lack of service it wasn't in my best interest to stay. First and last visit sadly. read more

I'm tired and my legs and feet need a pampering. I stopped in after work, around 5:45pm thinking there would be a very long wait. Surprisingly, I was told about a fifteen minute wait. Perfect! I'll wait. I was directed to my chair and the basin was filled shortly after being seated. (While I waited for someone to begin my pedicure) A short time after that a gentleman, whom I've never seen before comes over and taps my feet, as in pick your foot up out if the water. He quickly pushes back my cuticles and then before I realize it, he's cutting my toe nails. By the time I could say something half of my toenails had been clipped, short! I purposefully leave my toenails on the longer side because I think my feet look really fat with short toenails. He points to the very nicely constructed pamphlets and I informed him of the pedicure of choice and informed him I'd like a French pedicure. He proceeded to provide a decent pedicure. Then he starts applying the white, very thick. He thins the line and asks if it's ok, I stated no... thinner that's why I keep them long. I could immediately tell he was perturbed and he began speaking in a language I couldn't understand. Shortly thereafter, the owner comes over to finish my pedicure, ensuring the white "lines" are thin enough. I applaud her for stepping in and ensuring I was pleased with my pedicure. I will definitely come back, probably making an appointment next time for the lady who normally provides the BEST pedicures! (I'm pretty sure she is the owners mom). All in all a place where you do get good service. read more

Clearly I've been missing out. I'm new to the area and desperately needed a fill. I called and was able to get a same day appointment with Trina. My appointment was initially scheduled for later in the afternoon, but they were able to bump it up due to a schedule change. Trina did my fill and color in less than 45 minutes. That included cuticle trimming and a hand massage. She's really good at what she does and I'll be back. I'm glad I found this place. read more

Even though they didn't get started until nearly an hour after my appointment time, I'm still giving them 5 stars. I had to appreciate that they didn't rush their current clients in order to get to me as that would have told me they are less concerned about quality. I try to be understanding that any number of circumstances could've gotten them behind schedule & I wasn't in a rush. They didn't get started on me until after their closing time but they still took the time to do an amazing job on my pedicure & never once expressed frustration about the time like I've seen so many others do. Everyone in there was cheerful, polite, and kind. To top it off, they have the best prices & a huge color collection. I have not returned to a single place I've tried since moving here but I will go back to American. They care about quality and take time for their customers read more

I went here on 3/31 to get a sns mani and a pedi for prom and it was HORRIBLE. If you like to have a conversation do not come here, if you want to make sure your understood also DONT COME HERE. I got a SNS manicure and a pedicure matching. My mother was to meet me there so we could get our pedicures done at the same time, for quality bonding. They insisted on rushing me even though I told them I want to wait multiple times. They continued to make the water and when I went to dip my feet in it was ice cold. I told the lady doing my pedi and she couldn't understand English so the lady doing my moms had to tell her. My moms cuticle bed was cut, as well as her feet. They literally shaved off her skin so much she was raw! No one spoke English well. And my SNS manicure was HORRIBLE. It looked nice, but don't all nails at first? The lady that did them activated the polish all the way onto my thumbs CUTICLE. It STILL hurts, and it's been almost a week. Not to mention they charged 120 for blood(LITERALLY) sweat and pain read more

I am in town from Orange County California for a business trip and I broke a nail. I was in desperate need of a fix so I researched on yelp and found American Nails. I have never experienced the level of customer service Kevin and his wife Michelle provided from a nail salon, I am so blown away. I came in at 6:30 (30min before closing) and they welcomed me with a smile on their face even though I requested acrylic removal, dipped nails and a pedicure right before closing. Myself and a woman with her two daughters were there until 9pm. They are so patient and kind, they knew every customer going in and out by name and they did not rush. Although it is not the most fancy salon it is extremely comfortable and they offer really fun additives to their pedicure packages. I did the lavender jelly pedicure because another customer recommended it and loved it. I wish I had this Salon back in OC . I will coming here every time I'm in town for business. I had a bad experience here and I have to share it. I received a pedicure by Ally. I was painfully cut twice. It was very unpleasant. I came home and the following day my toe was swollen with pus. It looked infected. I went back. They cleaned it. I told them if there is no improvement in a couple of days, I'm going to the doctor and they will have to cover my bill. I didn't get any apologies or reimbursement. Instead, I got an attitude and the nail tech even had the nerve to say that she cut a different toe and not the swollen, pussy one. read more

I have been a loyal EWC customer for almost 10 years and have always had excellent service at various locations. Unfortunately, the Durbin location was the first time I walked away genuinely disappointed -- and it had nothing to do with the wax specialist, who was wonderful. The issue was the front desk receptionist. She was extremely rude and dismissive, rolling her eyes and speaking in a condescending manner. As the first point of contact for customers, she should be polite, patient, and welcoming. Instead, her tone and attitude were completely inappropriate.I was approximately ten minutes late due to traffic, and when I approached the desk, she spoke to me as if I were a child arriving late to class. I also had to wait for her to check out the customer ahead of me -- which took at least five minutes -- so the "lateness" was hardly one-sided. Even that customer looked visibly frustrated with her behavior. When I checked in and explained that traffic had delayed me, she told me she would "let it slide this time," but made a point to emphasize that being nine minutes late would result in a charge. She then handed me three forms to sign, stating they were "so I understand the policy." There are a hundred ways to communicate a policy professionally and respectfully. Delivering it in a punitive and humiliating manner is unacceptable. As I was heading to the back for my service, I saw her roll her eyes again. That was entirely unnecessary and unprofessional. This was my first poor experience with EWC, and I want to believe she may have been having a bad day. But if that is the case, she should have stayed home instead of projecting that negativity onto customers who come in expecting a pleasant and professional environment from a reputable company. She is simply not an appropriate first face for customer engagement. Management should strongly reconsider who they place at the front desk; someone who smiles, radiates positivity, and represents the EWC brand appropriately would make a world of difference.

The salon is much smaller than any others I've visited but that was good because it made it a little more personable and they make you feel important. I will be going back and will take friends along with me for pedicures because they do have reasonable pricing. read more

I have gone to this salon for a couple years and loved it, then to my surprise it was sold..I was hesitant to try the new owners but was pleasantly surprised. I like them just as much. The owners are very good, and I think they have a better business sense. New Pedicure chairs coming in. Yah. I would recommend them to anyone in the Bartram area. they are excellent with reasonable prices, unlike the big chains. Give them a try, you will be pleased!! read more

This is one of the most convenient nail salons to where I live, and it's the one I find myself…read moregoing to when I look down at my nails at home and think "yikes". I almost exclusively get regular pedicures, so this review is based on that. The folks are friendly, and their chairs are comfortable. The pricing is in line with what other local spas charge, and their "basic" pedicure at $33 still includes a few perks. The biggest pro for me is the quality of their polishes. They don't have to grab one from a wall but rather choose from samples, and then they bring out a box with that polish in it. The polishes I get here consistently stay on for weeks with little to no chipping, which indicates to me that they're both solid at technique and also at ensuring the polishes they're using are of good quality and not too old or dried out. I've also never had an issue with nail damage here. On my latest visit, I overheard them working to make sure a client who didn't like their polish color got a satisfactory resolution even though it added a fair bit of workload to the nail technician. I'll keep going back.

Let's balance out some of these negative reviews…read more Definitely 5-star experience for our first visit! The services here are very affordable, and you definitely get your money's worth. We called for an impromptu appointment right after the salon opened on Sunday morning and the salon happily booked an appointment for 2 pedicures. The salon itself is tucked away in the corner of a quiet plaza in St. Johns-- you'd miss it if you didn't know it was there. Now that you DO, stop in for some pampering. We were really impressed with the distancing and safety precautions here; a deciding factor in choosing Sunny Salon! (Thanks to other reviewers sharing photos of the awesome plexiglass dividers!) The salon itself is spacious and very clean. Another plus? They seat you first, and bring the polish colors TO YOU. Customer service level 100. The pedicures were just as enjoyable. My fiancé had his piggies taken care of by the owner herself, and we shared friendly conversation the whole time. The gentleman who took care of my pedicure was so gentle and kind. AND he spent at least 20 minutes painting my toes to perfection-- seriously, the color I chose was kind of streaky and he meticulously painted 4+ coats with no complaints. Totally impressed with that level of dedication. We will be back!

We both chose the regular Base level pedicure, but my daughter upgraded to the gel, which I believe was around 17 or $18 more. Which I thought was ridiculous actually. We both started and stopped at around the same time and I actually did a stopwatch to see how long they spent on me and it was 23 minutes in total. It was close to $100 for both of us to get our pedicures and I won't be going back because I feel like they did not spend enough time actually working on smoothing my feet and cleaning up the cuticles at all. My technician actually just literally tapped each one of my toenails instead of pushing back the cuticle as she should have. I asked her to redo it, but she spoke hardly any English. All in all the only, the only good thing about this place is the location and if you like getting an overpriced pedicure, then it is for you.
