I wanted to treat my sister to a mani pedi for Mother's Day. I called the week leading up to Mother's Day and was relieved that American Star Nails could accommodate two people over what I anticipate is a big weekend for their business. My sister and I both had fantastic experiences with our mani pedis. I don't take polish but my sister was very pleased with the color she chose. Price felt extremely fair considering the quality of the service we received. This nail salon was clean and the employees were polite and efficient. We had a great experience. I would recommend this business to others in Jacksonville, regardless of gender. read more

I found a hidden little gem of a nail salon. I had a pedicure that was not rushed and affordable. The staff are all friendly and attentive to my needs. The location is immaculate and easy to get to. It's not near all of the crazy shopping frenzy of River City, which is a complete PLUS for me. Sending a text to all of friends right now about this find! Aces! read more

Had a plain mani and gel pedicure. Delicate care and attention to an ingrown nail, good color options. Can't complain.

When you move you have to find a replacement for everything you had at home. Walking into this salon I was skeptical but Jenny made me feel better by going above and beyond to give me what I desired. read more

If you're looking for a place to call your own this is the place for you. Booking an appointment is best. As this is a smaller and more intimate space. They will know your name and listen to exactly what you need and like. You won't feel rushed. I see Jade for my nails and no matter what Pinterest pic I show her she nails it every time lol! I'm new to the area and needed an emergency spot because I was going out of town so I found this place. I arrived about 530 and they closed 7pm. The receptionist was very nice and even though you needed to call and make an appointment they took me anyway. The staff was very nice the establishment was nice and clean. They do instruct you to wash your hand when you arrive-which is fine with me. Definitely would go back. read more

American Star Nails - Beautiful polish job, excuse the feet - Nail Salons Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

Update. It hasn't been 3 weeks yet and 3 nails have popped off. I specifically asked if these nails were tough enough to stay on for a while with the heat of cooking and doing dishes. I normally wear gloves while doing dishes but occasionally I don't. I don't know what's making them lift and separate, but 2 more are lifting and probably will only last a few more days. I'm not sure I'll be back to this salon. This was the most detail oriented manicure and pedicure I've ever had. The ladies were all very nice, professional, and thorough and I'll certainly becoming back. It was my first time having dip powder done. I lived overseas for a while so I've never seen them before and they were very nice about explaining it to me. Kim and Jade were very nice and helpful. The only thing that would've made it better is if my massage chair had worked. read more

While scrolling through nail photos on Instagram today I got inspired to get my nails done. So I decided to call a salon not too far from the house to see if they had any availability and if they could do it in one hour. I informed them that I would be using my lunch break for the appointment. The shop told me they can accommodate my request so I stopped in. I am so picky when it comes to my nails. I like the length not too long because I do a lot of typing at work and the nail colors even more important. I am not a trendy person and prefers the subtle look. I shared my ideal nail photos with Jade and she recommended that I go with the dipping powder or SNS with a gel color. So I did just that! We went with the natural SNS and First Kiss gel color. Jade was very gentle with my nails and hands - she did use drills on my nails but I couldn't feel the contact. She was so natural and precised. Did I get what I wanted? Heck yeah, I did! The finished product was everything I wanted. I got the soft pink with some rhinestones and my nails looked fabulous! I kept telling her how much I loved them! I will definitely go back! Jade works with Lena, they're a team of two so make sure you call them and set an appointment. They do accept walk-ins too. They also do pedicures and have a plethora of color options. read more

Just moved to Jacksonville. This place is close to my house so I figured I would try it out. Plus they offer SNS and not many places do that (or know how to do it). Lina is great! She took her time on my nails and we had great conversations! Also, while getting my nails done multiple people came in and she greeted them happily and knew them by name. I'm all about small businesses that know their customers! Will definitely be coming back! read more

I refuse to go anywhere else. The atmosphere is super friendly, everyone has fun and talks with you, a lot of their clients are regulars also. I tried gel once here but i knew from passed experiences that gel doesn't last as long as i would like. I had tried sns once before and i liked out it turned out, but once i got SNS here it was completely different. My nails have grown out so much (i used to be a reaaaally bad nail biter and yes those are my actual nails) I would seriously recommend this place to anyone no matter what you want to get. read more

I went here a couple weeks ago and I've been waiting to write my review to see how my nails have lasted. Lina did my pedicure and she did a good job and was very nice and kept a conversation with me! Then I got my fill in and I got gel polish done by the guy who works there and he did my gel so thick that within 24 hours 3 of my nails started to peel up. I went back the next day and Jade redid my nails and put a new top coat on all of my nails to prevent that from happening again. She was very nice but also tried to blame the peeling on the brand of polish they used. If you know the polish isn't good I would suggest not using it. By the next week 2 different nails have peeled up. I've never had my polish peel up like this before. The people were friendly but I would say the technique isn't as good as other places I've been to. I won't be back. I need my nails to last longer than a week. read more

Came in as a walk in to get a pedicure and sns manicure. I was seen right away. Both women were very nice and made sure to know what I wanted before doing anything. My first time getting sns and I will continue to do so. I will definitely be back. Found my new nail salon read more

I moved to the area from the south side last week and after the stress of moving I decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I googled nail salons near me and got so lucky to have found this place! It was clean snd they make you wash your hands before you even sign in because of COVID precautions. They have great options for pedicures at fair prices. You even get to choose the scent of the lotion they use and they have a guide on their menu that helps you select a sent for whatever you are looking for- relief, relaxation, etc. I'll definitely be making this place my new salon! read more

Had an absolute wonderful experience with this nail salon won't go anywhere else. That was until some crazy chick and her young daughter decided to walk in and scream she wanted her money back for services already rendered after she left. And she was arguing and threatening the owner of the store. You need to inspect your nails and make sure that they are up to your standards so that these people can fix the problems before you leave not after. I had a great experience. I left very happy with my nails. I got dip powder with a matte finish plus I got tips put on. I am VERY particular about my nails and they came out perfect! They are even and had no mess left under the nails like I get from other places. She also made sure to clean up the cuticles. I am honestly in love with my nails right now. They are very busy. Definitely recommend making an apt. They also seem to have regulars so that's always a good sign! Will definitely come back! read more

They had me wash my hands when I went in which I found hygienic and safe. Everyone was really nice. I was looking for a non-gel light pink color that is not too bubble gum pink and I had a hard time finding that. I ended up getting a tan color. They had the brand OPI. Maybe they had more that I didn't see but the other OPI I saw said gel on the bottle and I didn't want gel. The massage chair felt good and the exfoliating felt good too. The massage pet I've had better at other places. Overall it was a very good experience. Nice and clean and polite transaction. read more

To follow up with the Google review I left about how I was charged 80 for a fill but they blocked me from leaving anymore reviews on their site because they knew they messed up. They tried to argue with me that it was 40 for the fill, 10 for colored French tips (which I completely understood not expecting it to me more than $50), 10 for it being French (not to mention I was not given French, they basically painted half my nails because there was no nude or pink base so you are able to see my entire nail underneath). They tried to argue that I came in with 3 broken nails when I came in with only 2, the 3rd "broken nail" was literally torn off by the tech when it wasn't lifting at all because they claimed it had "fungus". It was an obvious bruise because my nail had been torn off a few weeks back which I then got fixed and it was fine. They also tried to argue it was an extra 10 for the length and shape. Please tell me how that has anything to do with them seeing as I came in for a fill, my nails were already long and shaped. I wasted 2 hours and 80 dollars on nails that are crooked, weirdly shaped, and you can literally see my nails underneath them. When my mom gave them a call they were practically screaming at her on the phone going over why it supposedly cost that much when the prices changed everytime they repeated themselves. I was extremely disappointed in this service and highly recommend you don't go here unless you want to spend 80 for a half ass fill. read more
