First time going here (moved from socal) and she did not disappoint! She took the time to take off the horribly applied nail polish from the last nail place I went to and restored my nails and then took her time applying the new gel polish! Kim was kind, I will give her that. She sent me out with a cloth bag as a gift. She was fast, a little too fast. She got me in right away (should've been a clue) Second clue most of these five star reviews are older than 3 years. I only wanted a basic manicure and nailed painted, my nails not fake ones. She trimmed my cuticles a little too much and a couple of them bled very slightly but still. I also had a sore one I asked her not to trim. She did anyway. Next she got out a dremmel to "rough up" the surface of my nails, my actual nails not acrylics or gel nails (never had either of those). I've never ever had that rough filing done to the surface of my nails. When I asked she said it's fine. That's when I should've left but I didn't. I'm a little shy about doing that in the middle of a treatment. Anyway, I will say the polish lasted longer 4 days) than usual on my nails but I now have grooves/dents in them 2 months later. Hopefully they will grow out soon. I don't like doing negative reviews but if it prevents someone else from a bad experience I thought it was worth it. I called at 11:30am for an appointment and she offered me a 1:00pm spot on the same day - a welcomed surprise! Definitely not a place to bring your 6yo daughter to have a mani/pedi at. I tried to schedule a 5pm appointment with Kim for my mani/pedi and my daughters as i was attending a wedding the following day. She gave me a 4pm instead so i had to bring along my two boys and infant daughter. Immediately she told me that the kids could not be inside the establishment because of it was a "spa" and people were there to relax and not hear kids. Okay understanding; so we stood outside. She offered gel nails for my 6yo daughter because they "last longer" which i turned down and she seemed to be slightly irritated about. I explained to her that the previous time she had bit her nail color off and we were there for regular nail cleaning and color. I was just there to give my daughter back he "experience" She finished 15min early with my daughter and my husband was still about 30min away from hollister. So I then offered to have her start with my toe nails while we waited but she declined to start services. She said she had no problem waiting but once again kicked me out of the building to stand outside & wait. She then decided to stand with us outside and it was obvious that she wanted me to pay her for my daughter's services which I immediately did. This then made me feel very uneasy and I decided to leave without having my services done. I was not going to write this review as i felt like it was primarily my fault for bringing my kids along but now after hearing my daughter say that the lady was rude to her the entire time. Her services were paid for in cash and a tip was provided. So please don't take young girls to this business. read more

Being my daughter was getting her nails done for prom I had to take her to Fancy nails to get them fixed, which was another $35 on top of the $105 we spent for a new set and a basic pedicure. Leaving a 5/5 review for Kim 1) Kim was available on a Friday (9AM) 2) Finished my gel manicure and regular pedicure in an hour and 15 mins. 3) Kim REALLY took her time and left my poor toes looking gorgeous! 4) She didn't push anything on me, just asked what I wanted and offered if I was interested in her lotion however not at all pushy. 5) She's super friendly and easy to talk too! 6) It's very clean and spacious for the one-on-one location. I haven't done my nails since COVID and some time before that so she really made my experience top-tier. I've never had a professional manicure before. I spent 3 days looking for a local nail technician. I called today and she got me in today. I have long natural nails and I have a reaction to nail polish containing formaldehyde and tourmaline. I have always brought my own base coat for pedicures. Kim understood I didn't want to cut my nails down or shape them other than the shape I came in with. She cleaned them up a bit and made them look uniform. I will go to her again. I saw Kim several years ago at a different location before the pandemic. I located her again through a friend that uses her. She was quick to respond to my call and I was in the next day! I've tried all the nail salons in Hollister and Kim is by far the best I've been to. She takes great care in cleaning up my nails, which you don't find in other nail salons. The best part is that my gel mani is never a big blob sitting on top of my finger nail! She always leaves them looking natural. I also like that she doesn't shove other unnecessary services on you. She has a corner section behind a hair salon, and it is very clean. She even helped my elderly mother to our car the last time I picked her up after her appointment. I moved to Hollister about 1.5 years ago and hadn't been able to find a nail salon with good reviews here in town. They all have 3 stars or less. Had been driving to my salon back in Prunedale but it's time consuming. Finally, I found Kim here on yelp and scheduled my first appt. I scheduled for both manicure and pedicure. Kim was very nice and welcoming. I liked that it's just her there and there's no additional staff or clients. Very attentive to cuticles and very detailed with her work. Extra fees were a little on the pricier end, paying an extra 20 for each manicure and pedicure to upgrade to gel. An extra 15 for both for the french tip. 105 total for both. Overall, it was worth it. You can pay less elsewhere and compromise quality of work. Or you can book with Kim and rest assured you'll be happy with what you get. Since moving to Hollister I've had trouble finding a good Nail Salon...I kept getting them done in San Jose. But, so glad I found Kim. She is sweet and personable. Takes her time with her services. I moved here from the Bay Area and have struggled to find a clean, FRIENDLY, not pushy and detailed nail tech. Kim is very welcoming, friendly and listens to your requests. I am very picky and she has been the only one in town that has met my needs. I have visited most, if not all other nail locations in town and none compare. Other locations are older, dirty, unsanitary and are not very friendly. I had to go to gilroy for the longest time to get a proper manicure/pedicure prior to Kim. I also LOVE the one on one appointment only visits as you don't feel like your time is being rushed or having others stare at you while you get your nails/toes done. Highly recommend Kim!
