Pretty good price for both a gel pedicure and manicure! I don't remember her name but the blonde woman with glasses did an amazing job with my frenchies! Will be coming back for her. Only down side was that I got cut a bit and the alcohol burned...

I usually go see Holly to get my nails done and she always does amazing work. Today though, she was out and Kayla did my nails. She did absolutely amazing work too! I kept going back and forth between what I wanted and she was patient while helping me ultimately deciding and then made sure my nails came perfect! I didn't feel pressured or rushed and the overall atmosphere was very chill. Definitely recommend!

Don't waste your time or money on this place! As seen on all the pictures the lady didn't even try to get the polish on my nails. When I complained she scuffed, but when I was paying she was quick to ask for a tip. $40 for a gel manicure. I'm sure there are better places in town.

Kayla did an amazing job on my nails today! Showed her my inspo, and she was very attentive, detail oriented, and super kind. Made an apt, was seen promptly, and left happy. Make an apt if you are short on time as it can get busy like most salons. I am extremely satisfied with the service, Would recommend this salon, 10/10

As soon as you walk in everyone is excited to see you & welcoming. There is so much variety in services, I had scheduled a gel pedicure with a gel nail fill. The color selection and style options for nails is amazing! Jimmy did my pedicure & Holly did my fill, both were great and I so much fun to speaking with. When they are providing their services to you, it really is all about you. Their attention to detail is impeccable and the way they make you feel so relaxed and comfortable is great. I love leaving there feeling confident and loving my nails. The way they welcome you is also the way they send you away. I can't wait to be back in a few weeks and try out a new style!

Kayla is a really good manicurist and nail artist she did and amazing job with my nails will be back soon, she put a lot of detail in them absolutely stunning. They were all fantastic! !! I for sure recommend the pedicure they are the best.

Service was horrible the lady didn't wanna tell us her name according to the manger Mabel, lady was complaining about filing and called us stupid! Kept yelling at us as we told her to clam down. I understand it can be frustrating someone being picky but no way for her to yell at us and say name and throw her tools at the water while our feet were there. Our first time here and never again. She kept yelling at us from a far after we told her to relax because really there was no reason for her to be rude. Mabel would let her yell at us after I told her can you tell her to stop yelling all she said was so sorry. We left we our toes not being done because she kept cussing at us because my mom's kept telling her to cut the sides and she said " you do it your self then dont come here" i don't know why people can be so rude yet just be so harsh. Don't recommend no wonder it was lonely from the beginning! Zero starts if I had too

I hadn't been to this salon in a few years (I think), and to my surprise, the entire place has been beautifully remodeled. It has such a relaxing, welcoming, spa-like atmosphere now. I originally came in for a full set, but ended up treating myself to an elite package pedicure as well, with a gorgeous cat eye color on both my fingers and toes. The entire experience was so soothing and exactly what I needed. The pedicure was much needed, and I left feeling refreshed, pampered, and relaxed. Definitely happy I came back!! read more

I have been enjoying my monthly pampering at Fancy Nails for many years. Jimmy and Mabel are fabulous! My feet start out looking like something that would belong to Sasquatch but after Jimmy and Mabel work their magic, removing callouses, massaging and trimming nails, they look like Tinkerbell's pretty toes!! I have NEVER had a bad experience! I am always greater by name and with a smile. I experience a relaxing, professional and perfect pedicure each and every time. Thank you, Jimmy and Mabel!! It blows my mind that Fancy Nails has such bad reviews, the place is always packed, it is clear to me that the people who have a good experience here (like me), do not Yelp about it. I love this salon, I went to high school in Hollister, moved away for a decade, and just moved back and this is my go-to-spot. I do not get acrylics, I get gel mani's and pedi's and they always do a great job. Always make an appointment. They are busy, Mabel is very awesome with scheduling. Never have they started me late. The team is also very nice and skilled, I have had mani/pedi's from many of the different team members, all have come out excellent. Highly recommend. read more

Very clean and spacious nail salon. The atmosphere is relaxing unlike other salons that I've been to where the employees are talking from across the room to each other. They don't do that here which is so nice! Don was my nail tech and he was very attention to detail and made sure I was satisfied. I recently moved to Hollister and was nervous about finding a good nail place. My nails are pretty high maintenance and basically I've found that only the dip powder will last! It's incredibly important to me that they last long because I have an infant and can't always find the time to get a manicure. This last time around they lasted 4 weeks!! I would've loved to get in sooner since they had grown out but life kept me super busy. Sandy is the only one who can do the dip manicure and she does an amazing job!! After waiting a whole year to get our nails done ( due to CoVid), we decided to go to " Fancy Nails" in Hollister. This was our second visit to Fancy Nails in the past 2 weeks. I should have learned my lesson the first visit. My daughter has left/side paralysis and it was obvious Mabel and the previous nail tech were not happy to work on my daughter's hand. But I returned because the building was big and clean, spacious for the wheelchair. Holly worked on me and Mabel on my daughter. Mabel's facial expressions showed she was frustrated and did not appear enthusiastic, we stuck around because service had already started. I guess Mabel is the owner and picks and chooses how " She" will treat each customer. When my daughter asked if Mabel would clean underneath her nail, Mabel responded with" No, you can clean them yourself when you get home". I wanted to get out at that moment but was half way through my fills. I thought manicures included cleaning the finger nails and grooming them? Overall, the work was sloppy! Holly did not say a peep and tried her best but I'm not satisfied with my nails, the ombré is fading to a yellowish beige after just 2 days. Our nail experience after waiting a whole year was just ruined by the poor service received. Our services that day were a manicure with gel and 1design, fills with Ombré/Gel and 2 pedicures with gel, my total was written on a piece of paper and it was $208. We did not get an opportunity to choose our design, Mabel just painted a flower of her choice on my big toe. I tried so hard to make it an enjoyable visit for my daughter but it was hard not to feel how horrible the service was. Lastly, Mabel made sure she asked me to tip all 4 people who did some work on us. I had already tipped 2 of the people. Mind you, they did not do the same pedicure for my daughter and I but we were charged the same. The staff here are very rude. The male sitting closest to the door didn't even greet me when I entered. The female staff barked orders at me and told me to "sit here" like a dog. She didn't say one word to me and it was the fastest pedicure I have ever had. She had me in and out in 25 minutes as she wanted me out of her station. She also kept checking her text messages. Wow is all I can say. I will NOT be back here again. read more

I love this place. It's small and quiet and after 14 years of coming here I decided it was time I leave a review. I have always received great service, perfectly manicured nails. One popular place in town led me to Fancy Nails when for the first time in my life I had a fungus not once but twice due to poor maintenance in that salon. That popular place is still in business and every once in a while, I see on our local Facebook page people complaining that the implements we're not properly cleaned and they have the same problem that led me to Fancy Nails. So 14 years later, I am still a devoted, loyal customer to Mabel and Jimmy. read more

I was very happy with my results here! The first time I ever got my nails done I had a really bad experience. But they were awesome here. Little pricier than I was expecting but it was worth it. Huaong did my nails, and they look amazing. The fact that she took her time to make sure they looked good was the thing I look at the most. Last time I had my nails done, they had them done in 30 minutes. Here at fancy nails though, it took about a 20 minute wait and then it took about an hour and a half for my nails being done. That being said, I had an hour and a half to myself and really good looking nails afterwards. Very happy with the experience! Everyone was very nice there. read more

Stopped in this shop last weekend before going out to dinner with a friend. Sandy was available to do my nails. I can't remember the last time I had so many compliments on how they looked. Got an appointment for a set of nails for 11 am. I got walked in and told the man in the front that I have an appointment for my name and he said ok take a seat. 20 min later the lady named lee calls me over and asked if I picked out a color. I said no I wasn't sure where they were because I had never been there. And then she was annoyed because I didn't pick. She tells me it's another 2$ extra to shape the nail in an almond shape and I said ok. I wanted her to clean up my dead skin around my nails and she said sorry I don't think I'll have time. My client is coming in and I won't have time. I'm kind of thinking to myself well that's rude because you have a customer right in front of you. She was rushing and I never got my fingers cleaned up properly. Very disappointed. Made me realize why I even walked in. read more

The gal who will not be named says okay you pay 120.00. I did not think twice about paying and even gave her a 10.00 tip. When I got home and rested up a bit I realized I overpaid and gave a good tip. After dinner I decided to call them. The gal said yes honey 55 for nails 55 for toes thats 120.00 ( in her math equation) thats still 110.00 which means she admitted overcharging me. She told me to go in and she will explain to me how they charged me. There is no explanation for overcharging your customers and expecting a tip. I truly like these ladies but unfair is unfair. I told her in conclusion that I want a 15.00 credit on my next visit. And I don't think I will be tipping as much. So people be careful when you pay for services here. A gal just told me that awhile back overcharging was a habit in hollister at nail salons. They were taking their own tips.

She said because the tech is eating lunch, and that she would be back in 5 minutes , mind you while giving ME attitude because I have to wait. Never again will I come here, horrible service, they're uncoordinated, and don't even care if you have to wait , it's like they expect you too. No respect for the client and our time! The worst!

I was really nervous going in because of past experiences at other nail salons. Helen did a good job with my pedicure. She listened to what I wanted and how I wanted them cut. Very gentle and a nice massage. Jimmy put on my nails which was very nice. He did catch me once on the skin with the file but it wasn't too bad. Then I was passed on to Mabel because he had some scheduled appt. I am kind of glad he did because Mabel was AMAZING. Everything I would want from someone to do my nails. She took her time to listen to what I wanted. Fixed a nail I felt needed more shaping. I had a picture of what I wanted my nails to look like. She told me upfront that she couldn't do it exactly but she could do it close. I appreciate that a lot because I wouldn't want someone to say yes and it come out differently. In the end I LOVE my nails! I will most definitely go back. Think I found my new nail place and person! Thank you Mabel! read more

This is an excellent salon. I have been going to this salon for 17 1/2 years. I have been through 4 owners. The person who owns it now is Mabel. She helped me figure out what was making my hands break out and have an allergic reaction after my son was born 8 years ago. She was the only one who could figure it out. This salon is very clean always has updated equipment and the latest colors and styles. Mabel greats you as you come in the door and offers you water or tea. Some days is busier than others. If you don't want to wait call ahead. Every one has a bad day even you the customer. Please don't go on one experience you need to go back and try different people if you didn't like the 1st person you got. This place is awesome and would not go anywhere else. I have been getting my nails done at Fancy Nails since August 2016. I have gone to other salons but wasn't happy with the results or quality of work. I throughly enjoy my time while Mabel is doing my nails and have loved the way they look when she has finished. Mabel also has others in her shop that are great manicurists as well. This a good nail salon. The people are nice, do a good job on both pedi and manis. As well, they do a good job on acrylic and gel nails. I walked in for a routine fill and mentioned I was in no rush and happy to wait. When the technician, Tony, told me to sit at his station, I politely declined and said I was happy to wait for a different technician. Instead of handling this professionally, Tony became incredibly hostile. He shushed me multiple times and told me I could either leave or come back another day because "nobody else" would help me. When I asked why he was being rude, he slammed his desk and began yelling, claiming I wasn't "giving him an opportunity." I have given him opportunities in the past and simply do not care for his work--which is my right as a paying customer. He continued to shush me and speak about me in another language in front of the entire salon, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe. While the other two technicians were kind enough to apologize for his behavior and offer to help me, the damage was already done. Being treated with such aggression and disrespect after five years of coming here is unacceptable. No customer should be shushed or yelled at for expressing a preference. I'm deeply disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Then she pulled out an acrylic kit. I immediately asked what she was doing and why my nails had been cut so short. She then tried to blame me, saying I had shown her a picture of acrylic nails. I explained that I never asked for acrylic and the picture was simply to show her the design I wanted. The worst part was that she never apologized or took accountability. It wasn't until she realized I was packing up my things and leaving that she finally seemed to care. The woman at the front desk who originally greeted me asked what happened, and I explained everything. She was very apologetic and wanted to fix the issue, which I appreciated, but I was already too upset to stay. I ended up going to Luxury Nails across town, and honestly, I'm so glad I did. They were able to do damage control and gave me exactly what I had originally asked for. I understand that misunderstandings happen, but cutting someone's nails drastically shorter than requested, completely misunderstanding the service, and then blaming the customer instead of taking responsibility is extremely frustrating. I left feeling very disappointed and will not be returning.

She used to work in Capitola, and I would travel from San Jose to Capitola every other months to get my nails done. So glad she's now in Salinas, the drive is more pleasant for my visit.
