Booked a 2pm appointment for me and my grandma, my grandma was sat immediately, and while I was waiting, at least 5 other people walked in with 2pm appointments or "walk in". They were all sat before me, and when it came to my turn I was sat at an empty table for 30 minutes. During my hour there, I was told I had to wait for a nail tech to finish with someone else who was half way through their nails. My grandmas nails came out great, I ended up not getting mine done since she was finished before any one could get to me. Very disappointed in the time management of this place. read more

Love my nails and Love Lily and Vivian. I'm fairly new to Hollister and was nervous about trying to find a new nail tech, I waited a whole 2 years and finally had enough of no pedicures and no nails, being new I had new clue where to go, so I decided I would just give the nearest salon to my house a chance and low and behold it brought me to Tip N Toe and I am sure glad it did. Everyone I have encountered has been super friendly and very professional and I love that they learn their customers names and call everyone by name too! Vivian is amazing with the pedicures and Lily, is an artist from shaping and sculpting nails to the very detailed artwork she hand paints on. The pictures I added are of what I asked for and what I got and I'd say that what I got was spot on if not better than what I asked for...no Pinterest fails here! Thank you to the young lady at the reception desk (sorry I've never gotten your name), to Lily, Vivian and everyone else at Tip N Toe, you ladies are the best! read more

I've been going here for years. All the ladies here are great and welcoming. Always recommend my friends to go here.

I went here with my mom a couple days ago the lady doing her nails was sweet and really caring at first but then when my mom mentioned a nail looked crooked the lady kindly offered to fix it but when we mentioned again that the nail still looked crooked she asked in a tone if we had this problem at other nail salons or we are just choosing this one to have a problem with it. I was taken aback by that comment because it genuinely was an easy nail fix to figure out the problem but that was sort of rude I won't be coming back here with my mom again read more

I had ingrown toenails on my right big toe. It was hurting me for months. I went this morning and I talked to the nice lady name Tracy. She immediately knew what I was talking about, she listened and she did an excellent job. Doesn't hurt anymore. I'm a happy camper. I'm a regular customer since moving to Hollister from San Jose 2 years ago. I never had any issues with all the nice ladies there. Reasonable prices. I even got my little niece a gift certificate for Xmas. I recommend TIP N TOE SALON. My ratings 5 stars ! I had ingrown toenails on my right big toe. It was hurting me for months. Tip N Toe Salon - Good job by Tracy - Nail Salons Near Me - Hollister, California

This place use to be good but has fallen downhill since. I got bad service a few months back and stopped coming. Tried again the minute they opened and was turned away immediately with no availability all day..... and I called the day before asking if they were fully appointment booked and they told me no come in morning and we'll take you no problem... lies. Another few months have gone by and I called this morning asking again to schedule appointment to make sure I was scheduled... she's like no need just come. I was like u sure this happened last time, she's like yeah no worries!! I arrived few minutes after this convo and got told u want to schedule for an appointment at 3.....? Excuse me .... I just called and asked u and u told me to walk in and she just made a face and was like ooohhhhhhh so u want to schedule??? No thanks. Such bad customer service now. No care read more

I used to go to them all the time before Covid hit but since returning their quality has not been good. Even if the nails look good, my nails have never been more damaged. My mom and I have both gotten pedicures and our nails have gotten so brittle they've broken. I literally lost half of my big toe nail. RIP the pups. read more

Honestly, I should've written a review about this place a lot sooner... But I regrettably kept giving this place chance after chance... and basically throwing my money down the drain. When this place first opened, I frequented it often and received excellent service.... Ive received many services here including manicures, pedicures and even waxing (eyebrows). But much to my dismay, as the years have gone on, the quality of service and the friendliness of the employees--has taken a steep decline. My biggest complaint about this place as a result of my most recent visit (End of June 2021) is the lack of straightforward communication when it concerns cost. When I thought I was getting a $35 "Deluxe" pedicure, I couldn't fathom why I ended up with a ticket claiming my pedicure cost $48. That $13 difference is major when it is completely unexpected. I guess I should have taken the hint when my nail tech began to argue with me (yes, literally argue) regarding the shade of nail polish that I had chosen. **Long story short, I was passed from one nail tech to another because some other customer threw a fit about the amount of time she had for the service, and was immediately catered to by the staff, while I was half heartedly tossed to someone else and the color I chose got mixed up in the transition. When I brought this to the new tech's attention she argued with me that she was given the correct color--which, in fact was not the case.** Anyway, things got worse from there as I asked about my pedicure --I was up charged for a service I did not request and forced to pay for a shoddy paint job. Not to mention with each service you are expected to tip the tech for their time and work. Which I did begrudgingly, because I was so unhappy with the services I received on that day. If you are willing to pay for a service, you should--at the very least--be able to receive exactly what you pay for...however, this was far from the case in my last experience. I felt very undervalued as a consumer and I don't think I will be returning in the future. And while i'm on that note, be-aware... if you make an appointment, there is a 50 / 50 chance that it won't even matter because someone else who walks in without an appointment will probably be taken in before you. Especially if that person intends on spending more money on services than you. I've seen it happen and even experienced this type of "prejudice" multiple times before and I'm just DONE with this place. I refuse to settle for disrespect just because this place is local. I'd rather drive a little further and pay a little more for a place that truly appreciated me as a customer. HARD PASS. DO NOT RECOMMEND. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Writing this review after my second time coming here. I walked-in the first time and got Lily. I really liked how my nails turned out so I came back and asked for her again! Definitely did not disappoint. I moved to Hollister from San Jose so I had high standards for my nails. I got a new set of acrylic nails the first time and came back today for a refill. The texture is even, the shape is how I asked for it, and the polish is smooth. 10/10! Price points are fair - my refill was $30. For the foreseeable future I'll keep coming back here and asking for Lily. read more

I have gone here a couple times and never fails !!! I will never again go to this nail salon. They do not know how to shape I told them I want square square and I got some round some square uneven, really thick hardly even filed my nails. It was like too hard for her and this is a fresh new set, uneven not the length I requested, and very rushed. I got home washed my hands and still have residue on my fingers and underneath my nails. Very disappointed and will never recommend. read more

Absolutely horrible quality, they cut me bleeding, and I don't even see they disinfected the tools. The gel came off after 2 days. I was trying to get my nails done before my social event. Now I have half off horrible nails. I gave this place so many chances just because it's closeby. Unfortunately, the experience just gets worse every time. I'll never come back again.!!! read more

First time here. Sorry to say, but it was my worst experience ever. Each and every one of my nails is in so much pain from my cuticles ripping apart. This nail tech used was too much glue and the nails she put on were way bigger than mine. Very messy job. Not at all what I asked for and I stopped her a few times to make corrections, but still no luck. Due to high clientele, I even asked my nail tech if she needed a break before beginning but she refused. She did not do any cleanup and no proper buffering. read more

Avoid this place!! The lady I got was so careless at her job. She legit stabbed my left toe and it bled and she kept saying I have an ingrown! LADY!!! If I had one I would've taken care of it on my own! I'm so annoyed not only that but I asked for COLORED french tip. NEVER did I say the color white. She said "oh" & asked what color I wanted. I told her red and she proceeded to do the color I requested. Which she had to redo 3 times!!!! Ugh just look at the images of how my toes ended up looking read more

I won't even give them a rating even one star would be way too much. Horrible service I had an appointment and was made to wait 45 minutes before someone even barely acknowledged my presence. What's the point of making an appointment and then being completely ignored? Horrible customer service a complete waste of my time and I won't ever go back. There are plenty of other places in town to go to but I'm sure will at least not ignore me. Don't go here! read more

I used to go here years ago. I was bummed to see the Yelp reviews and was not sure I should try again. I'm glad I did!! Lily was so awesome! She makes sure to listen to you. The owner, Ashley, is wonderful. My sister and niece & I have standing appointments once a month, so we don't have a long wait. I've had ingrown toenails a couple of times &Nikki takes care of them and pain is gone. Years ago I had a really bad ingrown toenail & the podiatrist took off half of my toenail, which hurt for weeks. Now I just have Nikki take care of it and pain is gone. My toes always look great for weeks and I use Polish, not gel, so that says it's done correctly. read more

I've given this place a few tries for pedicures, but the last time I stopped in I ended up with an infection in my toe. I gave one last try today but left before having anything done. They pointed me to a chair and I sat and waited for about 10 minutes while they finished other ladies. The lady sitting next to me had her feet in the water and said she had been there for about 15 minutes already and needed to leave to get back to work. They called out to someone who was in their back breakroom and she ran out to help. Then two ladies walked in and they were seated next to me. When one of the pedicurists finished, she started prepping their bowls. I asked why they were taking the ladies that came in after me and was told they had an appointment. I didn't think it was right that they seated me without saying it would be a while so I left. After seeing how long they made the other lady wait, then had to rush, I figured I was going to end up in the same boat. I won't go back! read more

The lady who's in charge is super rude and my nails felt rushed and half done. Wouldn't come here again.

I don't know why they advertise that they're open until 7. I came in as a walk in at 4:22 pm and asked if they have time to do a fill. With lots of hesitation, the tech on her cell phone not helping anyone asks if I can come back tomorrow. Yeah, whatever. read more

Tried this little place out for thr first time. Not bad for price. Service was okay, wish they would of focused a bit more, they seemed so rushed. Wasnt comfortable at all. I also noticed they do not sterilize their tools, they only wipe them down. Sorry, not good enough for me. Also, when they were done with my toes, she askes me to get up and let my toes dry while sitting on a chair against the wall, and wanted me to walk bare foot....uhm, no! If i was going to walk, i needed my flip flops put on. Wasnt the worst, but wasnt thrilled with my experience. Not sure i will go back. read more
