This is the best nail salon I have been to in DC! My longtime nail tech, Vivian, recently moved here from another salon. Vivian is a perfectionist, so my nails always come out amazing (even when I ask for some crazy design), and I always enjoy our chats every few weeks. This salon is bright with tons of sunlight, has very comfortable chairs, and a huge selection of colors for dip. The salon is modern and clean, plays good music, and has the food network on. It's no surprise I've been trying to find the best nail salon in DC to patron when in town. Well, I think I've found it! Nails by District is located in the DuPont Circle area. The salon is clean, the people friendly and the quality top notch. This isn't a nail factory where they get you in and out quickly while quality is compromised. I've been going to this place for about five to six months, and I have loved it! They pay special attention to detail and have helped me match colors from pictures I have brought in. They also have a quieter atmosphere than most nail salons, which I appreciate! The pedicures here are also quality, which I have found hard to find in DC. read more

I came in for a gel mani/pedi and Amaya (not sure how to spell her name) was great! She made sure that all my nails were even, and asked me throughout the whole process if I liked how it was looking. Everyone was also very friendly, and I was also offered water, tea, or wine. Vivian is hands down the best nail tech/artist in all of DC. I've been seeing her for over 3 years and she has nailed it (pun intended) every. single. time. She is so personable, listens to what you want, and executes it flawlessly. I get dip on my fingernails and Vivian shapes them perfectly every time (no more catching your hair on your nails when they grow out). I came in for a gel manicure (French tip) just over a week ago and my nails are already chipping! I have been to a lot of salons for gel manicures and I've never had them chip so fast. I wasn't thrilled with how minimally she trimmed my cuticles or the use of cold water to soak my nails and a lukewarm moist towel instead of a hot one, but having them chip fast is absolutely not ok. I have been super careful not to do anything to risk them chipping, but here we are. I wanted to love this place because the owner seemed very nice and Ari was very nice!! But I will definitely not recommend or return here. read more

Lynn, Thai, and Thao are the best! I had an incredible collagen pedicure and foot message with Nancy, and then ended with tips and a pale pink chrome manicure with Thao. My nails are perfect, and the salon is beautiful. Clean, professional, and all the newest colors and nail options (including cat eye and chrome!). I've been seeing Lynn and Thai (the owners) for years at various salons, and Thao for manicures for about a year, and I trust them with my life. They always deliver exceptional service and top notch nails. I'm so thrilled for their new salon and cannot recommend them enough! read more

This is a brand new salon and I am so so so impressed. Thai was great company AND my nails are perfect. I got tips and dip powder and they look totally natural. I bite my nails and I feel like Thai understands the mindset of a nail biter.
