First time I went, a gentleman did my gel nails and he cut me multiple times. I was bleeding nonstop. He still asked for a tip when I was paying. I decided to give them another shot because I assumed some other worker would do a better job. When I went in, they tried to give me the same person as last time, so I asked the lady who greeted me at the door if she could do my nails. She made sure to make it obvious that she didn't want to. My middle finger nail was in so much pain after putting on the tips + gel and as my nails started to grow, the pain became unbearable. I believe it's because the nail beds were not smooth enough when the nail tech put the tips and gel over them. So I came in to remove them (NOT get a new set due to trauma) and the lady who spoke to me told me it would be 5 minutes. 30 minutes pass, they've all but forgotten me, I'm not getting anyone's attention, my patience is gone and the pain from my nail was scaring me. At first I thought I was waiting in some sort of line, but a lady walked in (without an app, sorry I was eavesdropping) and got a seat immediately. Then it donned on me that my nail removal would probably be taking the backseat to everyone else simply b/c I wasnt paying to get a new set. I'm not a confrontational person and I did not want a scene, so I decided to quietly leave and go to the salon across the street who immediately helped me. This is super close to UTD campus and I had an hour and a half in between classes, I thought I'd go in and get my nails done. They had a $3 off coupon online so I thought I'd give it a shot. I arrived around 4 pm on a Thursday and they weren't busy. I was greeted by everyone when I walked in and immediately seated after I said I wanted gel nails. They handed me all of their colors and they honestly had SO MUCH. I liked how they handed me the nail samples rather than look at the polish bottles which honestly never help. I've been to the Nail Lua in Dallas and had a positive experience. The Richardson location isn't as nice. It is smaller, but I believe the Dallas one is newer. My experience here was fairly positive as well. But the paint on my nails was uneven. They were a little blotchy and she didn't get the tips of the nails that well so the tips started chipping a little bit which made them look unclean. charged $50 for an acrylic FILL... fills are usually $25-30. also the colors are not what I picked out. they look completely different from what I picked. I put a picture reference for the colors I picked and then the colors i received. they had me leave while the gel was still sticky so now the nails look lumpy. they don't match at all and they look awful because of the lumps and divots. when I said that these weren't the colors I picked out they said "it's still pretty". they don't look good together like the ones I picked out and they don't look pretty. read more

I have to update from my last review, which I gave a spectacular 5 star for my pedicure. I went in to get a full set of acrylics with next gen for the color. The lady first tried to give me next gen without tips. When I hesitantly told her I had asked for tips (both to the lady at the front desk, and to her, several times) she scoffed and sighed loudly and filed my nail down until I was in tears and I jerked and pulled away. I started to stand up and said "Okay, I'll just go," when the manager rushed over to me and apologized and offered a discount. (Ended up being 15%, not worth it.) then, after I had specified to her that I wanted only the tips to be black, she went ahead and made my whole nail black. I corrected her again, but at this point, she had filed my nail down so far and next gen required filing to take off, that she could not fix it. She shook her head and sighed continuously. She did not talk to me the whole time, except for when the manager came over and then she would ask me a few questions. Super rough with my hands and continued to file my nails down until I had to jerk away from pain. I've never had that happen before with years of getting acrylics. I ended up with painful, completely black acrylic nails. Pedicures here are awesome. Never come here for a full set. I walked past this place on my lunch break one day and decided to check it out. The place is super clean and spa-like. Everything is up to date and their prices are great!! They also offer mobile coupons on their website. I had the nexgen done by a very nice gentle man who did an amazing job. Didn't clean my nail plate or side walls, used "used" tools on me, left me with a piece of nail that stabbed me ever step, and rushed through my entire service (second most expensive?), and I had to point out in the end that that my nail was so jagged it was sharp and got caught on my sock. Lady literally wiped the floor to clean up spilled water then rubbed all over my leg. No clue why this place is open. I'm a good patron, I tip well, and never complain. This was pathetic. I visited Nail Lua for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to find that services are 15% off Monday thru Thursday. Upon sitting in the pedicure chair, I was given a menu to choose my service and the employee suggested Milk & Honey and said "30 dollars" which seemed like a great deal. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure but was surprised when my total was $43 at checkout. I looked up the prices online after I left and was surprised to see that the Milk and Honey manicure was 30 but the pedicure was 50. The employee who quoted me at 30 was nowhere to be found. Went in with my daughter for a pedicure and they sat us both chairs with our feet in the water. They started my daughter then left partway thru to do an eyebrow tint for someone else. I sat for for over 30 minutes with my feet in cold water before they started, then rushed through my pedicure and was quite rough (used a cheese grater on my toes). Foot/lower leg massage was not pleasant, toenails were all different shapes and lengths, and polish job was so so. Made an appointment for a classic pedicure. I walked in at my scheduled time. The lady at the front desk did not greet me as much as I greeted her. I picked out my color and was seated quickly, but I sat in the chair for over 15 minutes without any additional attention. Meanwhile, there was a nail tech sitting in one of the pedi chairs at the end of the row on her phone and several others in the employee only room coming out with bowls and chopsticks (guess it was lunch or dinner at 4:30p). The salon is clean. I liked the fact that they used a liner in the bowl and sealed tools. The relaxing atmosphere was ruined a couple of ways: 1) a chatty nail who did not speak English very well and I really had to work on trying to understand her; and 2) two different women with their 3ish year old boys. One kid started crying and the other had his phone up so loud that all we heard was some kid cartoon. While I do not understand why any respectful mother would bring her boy into a nail salon, I also wondered why the manager in charge at the salon did not discretely ask the mother to control the kid. This place is obviously more kid friendly than I prefer. My nail tech did an ok job. I had to ask her to trim my nail down more. The color I originally picked turned out to be very light on my toes. The tech was kind enough to go back to the color pallet and choose a couple of options for me, but she did not remove the light color polish, and simply painted over it with the new color. It took an hour and a half to finish my classic pedi because a good part of the time was due to me sitting and waiting despite having an appointment. This salon did not blow my socks off. Really meh. This place is really really awful. I have been getting my nails done for years, but please anyone stay far away from this place!!! I went here for my first time since I moved to the area. They charged me 120 bucks for a next gen mani and a pedi and 3 of my nails fell off in 3 days!!! I went back in to have them fixed and 2 days later, 5 more fell off. My polish from my pedicure even came off within a week, which has never happened. The techs here seem to it care how crappy they do their jobs even when you tell them. They had a lot of secret up charges, for example, she asked what nail shape I wanted and I asked for oval and then I was told it would be $5 more for that shape, I then asked her to just give me whatever shape didn't cost more so I got square nails.They also charge $3 for nail length extensions but that isn't too bad and is expected. read more

GOOD 4 quick fix BUT NOT long term**** I never write reviews but have walked out of this business twice. I dnt like to make scenes or complain. Just have a nice experience and leave relaxed and flawless. I find it hilarious that they dnt have consistent prices or customer service. *i have guest seated b4 me (multiple) times *i have been seated and then told, an appointment had arrived , left to wait :-/ *i have been charged over $75.00 every visit, all different prices * the women have never done my nails, always a man (not by request) *they dnt use plastic covers in pedi bowl *i also was seated , then when the next customer arrived watched them be offered drinks & handed the massage chair remote :-/ i never asked for a manager complained about price made a scene jus politely walked out as i walked in I KEPT GOING BACK b/c they have catchy name they have a nice show row the techs have uniforms they have a variety of colors in shelac, gel, & dip powder, offered wine once. when they do show customer service they make you feel welcomed and the experience is worth it. I walked in at 6:35 tonight and was told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. So I waited, and waited... After 40 minutes I asked how much longer it would be; I have some other things to do tonight. The tech said "we're getting you right now." Another 10 minutes later someone finally started tending to me (at a suuuuuper slow pace) and I politely said I was in a bit of a rush since I'd been there almost an hour so would she mind being a little speedy with me. She said it hadn't been anywhere close to an hour... And I said yes, I know when I came in. She said it politely, but it was further evidence that they had no idea how long I'd been sitting in that chair by myself. She went off and got some supplies, still extremely slow, and I asked one more time if she could hurry. She didn't so I finally said I didn't have time to actually get the services done so I walked out after wasting 50 minutes of my life there. The tech was always polite and did apologize, but they were just way too slow and completely misjudged how long I'd have to wait. I never would've stayed if I'd known it would be 50+ minutes. Too bad, because I just moved to this part of town and was looking for my new go-to place. The facilities looked great too. Guess I'll paint my nails at home since I'm going out of town tomorrow. read more
