Edit: upon seeing the pictures it looks like there are two Hennas across from each other and people are posting about the two on this same page. My post is about the Hennas east of 75 next to a dry cleaners, not the Hennas west of 75 by Alamo Drafthouse. I have been coming here since a teenager (so 20ish years now). It still looks exactly the same. The location is very old, dated, never remodeled, but I love it! The owner is there every single time I have been there for all of these years. The price hasn't changed much over all of these years, still really cheap. Now, the variability- the employees may change and you may get someone who doesn't do threading of eyebrows evenly. After all of these years only one employee has done my eyebrows wrong and didn't go back for a while. Other than that everyone has done a great job at making my eyebrows even! I've been going here for years and love the girls who do the waxing services and the threaders are OK but the owner needs to know how to speak with her clients. She always tried to push other services depending how you look. Almost every time I go there she's always trying to push me into dyeing my hair... she's not the one threaded my brows or did my waxing so why is she randomly going out to people pushing them into more services as they are paying. Sometimes the threaders are always pushing more services. There are ways to upsell like just basically asking they need any other services done? If no, then move on don't make it awkward for your clients who may not come back. read more

It is quite rare for me to give a negative review but every bit of this experience was bad. I am giving it one star because overall the place was pretty clean. Typically places like this have somewhat of a line for a particular staff member who is great, there was no line for anyone. That should have been my first sign. When I sat down in the chair to get my service done, the lady was super harsh and left bright red marks in my face and a burning sensation afterwards. I completely expect a little bit of redness after but it usually goes away in 2 minutes and I am completely pain free by then. However this time, the redness lasted 15 minutes and I had a super weird tingling sensation on my face for 30 minutes after. In addition, the lady working with me was not kind, she barely noticed when I was visibly hurt and was yelling about something to another staff member the entire time. If you can, I would recommend taking your requests elsewhere because this was incredibly disappointing read more

Let me start off by saying, that I used to love coming here. The ladies were nice and it was so quick. After Covid, I think that's when I noticed things change. I came on Tuesday to get threaded and it wasn't busy. Sat in the chair, and while I normally know how it feels to get threaded, this time felt more painful. I left thinking that was normal but when I woke up the next day, I noticed that she had ripped the skin above my eyebrow. It's still sore and painful. I will not be coming here again. read more

The pricing is right but the customer service was terrible. While my technician was gifted to be able to free hand, she was heavy handed and messy with my design. After finishing my design, she just walked away. I was given no oral or written care instructions. When I closed my fingers, the henna smudged to my other fingers. I used my own wipe to try to clean up and avoid getting henna all over myself. Finally, I asked for a fan to assist in drying my hand. My friend also got a design, her experience was much better. I traveled from Hawaii where this is much more expensive. My friend brought me here because she'd gotten her eyebrows done. We were both disappointed at how we were treated. read more

I've tried this place 3 different times. I just don't feel comfortable with the lack of cleanliness inside. The technicians never sanitize their hands in between clients. I've watched them do eyebrow threading, then handle cash payments and head straight to thread someone else. They also rush through the threading and miss areas. read more

I got a Gold Facial, face threading and eyebrow tint. Huma did it all, and she was FANTASTIC! I d had a facial here many times, but Huma is the best esthetician I've ever had. PLUSES: she was kind, knowledgable, politely upsold me, and she taught me some things about my skin. SLIGHT DRAWBACKS? The facial rooms are really small. For the price and service, you really can't beat it. And this is coming from kind of a service snob unfortunately. Of course, it's obvious from the second you walk in - this location is not so much about "rolling the red carpet out" for each customer - but more so just getting you in and out the door. Like seriously you walk in, take a ticket, and wait until they call your number. But when it comes to a clean up for eyebrows, quick and painless is fine with me. Don't ever EVER come here for henna! They use artificial colors and chemicals. I felt weird color when the girl applied the henna and it had a very bad chemically smell. When I asked her..she said this is how our hennas are. She asked me to keep it for 1-2 hours atleast for a good color. But it gave me a bad reaction!! I'm trying everything but it is itching and paining like crazy!! Very bad Experience!! Update- I woke up this morning with both my palms badly swollen and paining like anything! When we called up the owners to complain instead of patiently hearing our complaint they just kept saying that they are not responsible for the henna!?! Even if you are buying your henna from some other shop, you should atleast have a courtesy to listen and empathise!!! Instead they completely went in denial mode and refused to even apologise!!?? Never expected this kind of behaviour here! The lady was even murmuring behind on the phone saying that it doesn't look swollen in the picture!?! Excuse me? Do you think we are lying?!? Been coming here for years and years. The prices are good. Amina is the best, she always takes good care of me and does an excellent job. The place is okay, I wish it they were a little bit more cleaner with some things. I used to get my waxing done here, but I stopped because I wasn't a huge fan of them using plastic microwaveable bowls and reusing the same wax on everyone with butter knives. When I was younger I didn't care and would just do it; but now that I'm older I'm a little more cautious since my skin is a lot more sensitive. The prices are very fair, very reasonable. Which is a huge factor. Eyebrow threading is $4. Can't beat that price. Upper lip threading is $2!! It's a steal, that comes with some compromises. read more

I have been coming here for four years now and will most likely still continue coming until I find a new place. I mostly come for eyebrows since threading skills at Indian (generally,desi) places are so much better than other places. But I will be sharing a few of my unpleasant experiences over my countless visits. I always hesitated to write a reviews because I don't want them to get a bad rep but it seems there's no chance of improvement. I will start with my most recent experience: I was there yesterday at 4 PM for a Brazilian wax and eyebrows. As I walked towards the waxing area,one of the younger ladies with curly hair took me in. Usually I only have Patty do my wax but she was busy so I didn't have any issue with a new person taking care of me. Anyway,once inside the room she starts setting up her equipment and I was waiting she'd step out so I could undress. When she didn't,I very politely said "Do you mind stepping outside so I could take off my clothes" She very rudely replied "Everyone takes off clothes right here,I have to see you naked anyway". I said again: "I know but I don't feel comfortable taking off my clothes if you could give me a minute". She dropped her spatula on the table,rolled her eyes and stomped out of the room. I was angry at this point,so I said I'm sorry I will wait for Patty. Someone who's in for a Brazilian obviously needs to be felt comfortable and welcome. It wasn't my first time and I've had it done at European Wax Center multiple times. It's standard procedure to give the client some privacy to undress. On a previous occasion,when I'd gone for eyebrow threading the lady had taken liberty to comment on my acne. These are her words: "tch tch why do you have so much acne on your face". It's none of your business really. I was polite and answered that it's hormonal but please train your employees not to comment on anyone's appearance and keep unsolicited advice to themselves. Another time the owner was waxing my sideburns and her hands smelled of curry. I couldn't say anything at that time as she's much older and there was another employee with her at the time so they'd basically 'held me down' as they were trying to wax my face simultaneously. It's the most disgusting memories to recall how her curry-scented hands were moving all over my face. read more

This is the second time I have given this salon a chance as it is close to my work. The lady who threaded my eyebrows left one eyebrow skinnier than the other. When I mentioned it to her, she said it looked good. I met a friend as soon as I left the salon and she told me it is messed up. Never going back there again. I always come in without making an appointment and every time, I have not waited any longer than 10 minutes - sometimes, not at all. I've been to several different ladies and each artist has done an amazing job on my eyebrows so I'm not biased to one over the other. I do recommend bringing cash. If you pay in cash, you get a $1 discount from your eyebrows! $4 eyebrows with cash $5 eyebrows with credit card I also noticed a sign indicating there is a $10 minimum on credit cards. I also like to get my upper lip done here for only $3! Don't forget to tip your ladies! My ONLY complaint is that they close at 6pm during the week. Well, here's what I do to solve this dilemma - I go during my lunch break! Yes - they are THAT quick! In and out within your lunch hour with MUCH time to spare. I used to feel like it was hit it miss with what my brows might look like, because you always end up with someone different than the time before. Some techs are more skilled than others, so go when its not busy and get the business card of one that you really like. I've been coming here for 10 years and I still come, because over all, the work is good and inexpensive. I only go for brows. I'm skeptical of getting my "snatch" waxed and the facial I once got was relaxing, but the products were mostly basic drugstore brands. The henna I got looked great too. Saturdays are a cluster, so try to go on your lunch break or right after leaving your 9-5, during the week. If you're OCD about cleanliness, you need to find somewhere else to go. I wash my face right after I leave. A lot of people go through there and they don't wash their hands with soap and water. Take cash to tip, because you won't be able to do so if you pay with a card. On January 19, 2023, I entered the salon and asked for eyebrow services for my minor daughter and I. I Cleary stated that I would be tinting and threading and my daughter would be getting threading only. There was a sign outside that said threading $4 and tinting $10. My services would been $14 and my daughter's should have been $4. Total $18. My services started the same time as my daughter's. The entire time I'm getting services the tech is talking to me...trying to sell me other service that I constantly decline. She touched my lips, nose and neck with her back hand. These areas were not being serviced. When I finish...my daughter was done and sitting at the front. I head to the desk to pay and hand the "owner" my card...she says $15 and $15...that will be $30. Confused, I say $30 for what...she says my daughter got the tinting...I remind her that she was only supposed to get threading. She claims my daughter came back to the desk and asked for threading. My daughter and her friend deny this claim. I say to her...we didn't ask for that service...remind you...my daughter sat in the chair at the same time as me and was done before. When would she have had time to request additional services? My does NOT prefer dark eyebrows so that not a service she would have requests. Additionally, they were not aware of any allergies my child may have had before they decided to perform that service without my request nor permission. I tried to be civil and discuss it with her. Today, I went to Heena on a weekend for the first time, and the experience was different enough that I thought it warranted an update to my previous review. I've gone a few times before, but it was always on a weekday afternoon, when there were only one or two other customers, and I could just walk in and get immediate service. This time, I went on a Saturday around lunchtime. I'd read previous reviews that mentioned the long, long wait, so I was prepared. Expecting an hour wait, I had lunch at Taj Mahal Imports in the same complex beforehand. I got a masala tea to go, which I highly recommend, because it's really good and too hot to drink immediately. I also brought some reading material, a copy of The Economist and some textbooks for studying. Walking into Heena, the difference was obvious. Heena Salon on a Saturday afternoon looks like Barack Obama's America. Women of all races gather here for the common cause of fantastic eyebrows. The place was packed, and I got the last chair in the waiting room. I took a number, which was 39, and they were only calling number 11 at the time. It was hot and humid inside, and it smelled strongly of B.O. I'm not sure if their A/C was broken, or if they just chose not to use it, but it appeared that the whole salon was being cooled by ceiling fans, which weren't doing a great job. It was an uncomfortable 80-85 degrees in there, but not unbearable. I read my magazine and drank my masala tea for 15-20 minutes until it was my turn. Even though there are a lot of customers, the wait isn't too bad, since there are also a lot of threaders working. If you can come to Heena on a weekday, I highly recommend that you do so. If you can only come on a weekend though, it's still not bad, and definitely worth the wait. Bring a magazine and pick up some masala tea beforehand, and it'll keep you from getting cranky. I've come here four or five times now and gotten different people, and they've done a great job every time. P.S. Shazia does a great job.
