I've come to this locations several times over the last couple of years. Everytime I come get a manicure it's followed with over drilling of my nails and cuticles which is PAINFUL. Even when I flinch or say ow they don't care they just keep digging deeper. I thought I just have sensitive or really thin nails and that my pain was a unique experience that I will have to go through no matter where I go. Wrong. This last session was an amazing ye opener that I deserve and should find better. She went over all my cuticles 4-5 times I'm not kidding , I counted because after the 2nd or 3rd time it was getting more painful. I should have said something but again I was convinced that since it's always been like that then this is normal. Until I left the shop with an extremely itchy cuticle for days. Today day 3 of my nails I've noticed swelling around some of my cuticles. That's when I learned this was indeed not normal. They are still itchy and not probably infected or might become so. I'll include pictures! I like the style I choose and over all the swelling, the unleveled nail, uneven-ness and even slightly crooked placement doesn't stand out from the naked eye unless some actually chooses to examine my nails. The most I'd trust the people here to do is my toes and even then I rather go somewhere closer to people that do the same thing but without me wasting more gas. Btw this cost me $77 (I took off my other nails and got a fresh set plus the hey said $15 for cateye nails) I don't recommend. read more

I tried two places at the mall and they were filthy so this is the first place I saw when I left. The salon is clean and nicely decorated. I was serviced right away. I believe the prices were a higher than they should have been for what i got but it's my fault since i didn't inquire. The technician also didn't do a great job with what I got (unevenly painted nails) but I also didn't look and have her adjust. I will not return . read more

This review is based solely on today's experience. I've been a customer here for almost 15 years and honestly based on today's service I just may have to find a new salon. Today I was a walk in and wanted a mani pedi regular polish. I felt terribly discriminated against because I didn't want gel ( she mentioned it all of 10 times) My pedicure and manicured were both rushed ..... just a foot washing and a hand soak they hardly cleaned up any skin and she asked did I want another coat when she could clearly tell it needed it like ma'am u know it's not right ..... no lotion on my hands afterward my mani no hand massage just a dip in water and polish ( $25 for nail polish this was not a $25 manicure) Before she left mid manicure for her appointment that arrived she tried to convince me to get clear because of the grooves in my nail from a previous full set .... Her way of trying to rush me again, that's when she got the guy to polish me. I assuming I didn't get the normal hand massage and lotion because my polish had to dry or because of the appointments that took precedence over the person in the chair. The guy who painted my nails was nice to step in and help her but his appointment came so I was being rushed yet again.... He had to repolish a finger and guess what he said ( this is why u should get gel) hahaha I can't make this up... at this point I even said to him like omg what's y'all problem with regular polish there wasn't always gel God Forbid I ask them to pull out an airbrush machine lol . I don't know the policy on offering water tea or drinks but I heard some customers being asked did they want a drink and others weren't including me. IF YOU DONT WANT TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS WHO DONT WANT GEL DONT OFFER REGULAR POLISH. The disparity of treatment and poor customer service today was absolutely horrible. She even asked me to pay before I was polished like I was gonna leave without paying ..... I am highly offended.... I will pay when I'm don't like I always do. I did get an eyebrow wax which I was gonna cancel because at that point I was not happy but I'm glad I did another lady cleaned my brows up nicely. I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad. I had a good experience here. Tommy serviced me, he took his time and made sure my mani and pedi looked amazing. I brought in my own nail polish but they offer plenty of DND colors to pick from. My only complaint is the price, a gel mani is $40 that is a bit more than what I normally pay. I stopped into Nail Care and Spa on Friday. My normal salon was overbooked and I needed a pedicure for the weekend, which was one first wedding anniversary. Luckily, Nail Care and Spa was able to accommodate me as a walk-in. The gentlemen who serviced me was very friendly. He was professional and attentive, checking on my comfort level several times during my service. My pedicure was very relaxing. The service that I received at this spa was excellent. The reason I deducted a star was due to their payment policies. I was charged an extra 1.5% for using a card instead of cash. Additionally, they only accept tips in cash. There is an ATM inside, but they charge $1 for withdrawals. So I ended up paying at extra 2.50 which may not seem like a lot to most, but with gas prices so outrageous, every dollar counts! read more

I sat down with one lady and they had me move around three times to different people who were just walking in to start their work day. Unprofessional. Never have I ever tried dip and I don't believe I would again. Either my nails refuse to fuse or the nail tech's technique was off. The nail tech also filed my nails crooked and down to the skin where I now have blisters (I pulled my hands back from her twice!). When I got home, I noticed that they began to peel off and break. I've recently fallen in love again with this salon. I used to frequent Nail Care 5 or six years ago. On a whim I stopped in for a manicure a month or two ago and was greeted warmly, the owner and employees still remembered my name, it probably is due to me being a great tipper. I believe in tipping extra for great service. The salon is busy! Always busy! But they do have quite a few employees compared to other salons in the area. Gel manicures and pedicures are always on point. I don't do fake nails but do like designs here and there. Not too much up selling is an added bonus. The quality of work at this salon by nail tech Min was that of a child. My pedicure was garbage such as lumpy nail polish, polish on the sides of my nails and no lotion on my feet. I didn't ask him to fix the issues that I had with his piss poor service because it was too basic for a Nail Tech 101. So I fixed my nails to my likings and vowed not to return. I love this place for pedicures. They are currently by appointment only to keep the standing traffic down but when I called they fit me in right away. They have placed shower curtains on all the seats and try to keep space between each person. They all wear mask and the equipment used is sanitized and open in front of you. My mother and I went to this salon for a pedicure, the employees were friendly and the business is clean, however we feel like we were over charged for the service received, my gel polish has already started lifting 3 days after the appointment, and parts of our nail are thinner coated. HORRIBLE service. I walked in today wanting to try a new place and was met with a rude and unwelcoming lady. They tell me to sit before I even can pick a color. When I ask to see two different powdered colors she acted as if it were a burden. I tell her I was just wanting an overlay fill. She proceeds to roughly file my nails down, but does a poor job. She rushed to apply the powder carelessly and left it to where you can literally see the white (prior color I had from last nail fill) under the new color I got. She started to throw things around the table with attitude when I expressed I wasn't happy. She proceeded to say "I'm not done". She finishes and when it's time to pay she charged me $60 for a full set. when I asked how it can be that much for a fill she said it's cause the color change, the file down, and for her removing the prior color (when she didn't). Ok this really deserves a 0.5 as the high, 0.25 as the mid, or a goose egg (ZERO)!!!! I'm gonna stick to the facts. I went in here with my two daughters for a quick pedicure. They are ages 12 & 15. Normally, I do their toes and teach them how to do them for themselves too. I don't want them to be stuck on these places and not be able to do them for themselves. Just FYI I went to nail school in 1999 the summer before college as it was going to be my side job in college. So I walk in and ask for 3 pedicures. I notice there's no menu of services or posted price list anywhere, so technically you can be quoted different prices for different services. I think this is on purpose. You can get a basic or spa pedicure but what does either of them include. 3 people come up and take us to chairs at the same time. They try to persuade me to do spa pedis on my daughters but they don't have built up dry and dead skin and they don't need callous removal. Pretty much they are a clip, shape and paint. I did get the spa pedicure. The services were decent. I didn't like their regular polish selection. Not a lot nice polish mostly cheap. I guess that's because they push everyone towards gel polish. They actually have an impressive selection of gel polish. Some other negatives: 1. My tech who barely spoke English had enough to blatantly convey her shock at my biracial children. After I told their technicians the kids would have basic and I would have a spa pedi, she asked very surprisingly"are those your daughters???" Both my children took notice and offense to her upfront rudeness. She took it a step further a little later by saying wow you're black and they are are as to ask White??? Yes, thanks I didn't know I was black lol, and yes they are biracial Geesh lady, I'm trying to be courteous to you as you are clearly elderly with hearing aids . I decide on a manicure with gel polish. This is done. My bill was $121. I paid with card and tipped her $5 cash. One of the guys that did my daughter's toes came over and looked over the techs shoulder at my bill and card receipt as I was reviewing and signing it. I was kinda offended by this as well. Directly after that, she touched my hand and said what about tips for them. WTH, seriously lady you're lucky I'm tipping YOU after you blatantly offended me now you're asking for extra for 2 people who did a basic paint jobs on my kids toes with no designs or frills for $27 each. I think their easy pedis were overpriced already. REALLY LADY????? What the heck, I threw in a few dollars for them too and left before I end up going to hell for giving some really bad words to this old lady . I will never grace the doors of this establishment with my patronage ever again!!!! I think they only do well because of they're location. If only others knew, a really nice and affordable clean spacious place was just on the other side of Safeway by the Green Turtle called Exquisite Lifestyle Nails & Hair Studio. She was about to start doing a manicure before unstopped her and asked her what was she doing. So after all the filing and shaping that I did NOT ask for $26.50 was the bill. I've been trying to find a decent place for a pedicure in this area. They are all kind of pricey, and hit or miss. I have to say that this place did a decent job. I got in right away. Chairs are a bit old and there was something sorry of jabbing me in the back when the massage want going, but the actual chair massage was one of the nicer ones I've experienced (good mix of kneading and pounding :-)). The tech was nice enough. I got "upsold" for callous removal and something else, but I figured if I was already paying $27 for a basic pedi I might as well do another $10! If you are expecting a customer-focused, professional environment, this place will frustrate you. They are not unkind. Customers are just NOT valued. A customer is not seen as people who deserve the full attention and courtesy of service providers. Your hands are $$$. Your service is treated like something to do while employees carry on with each other...NONSTOP. Your technician being interrupted by coworkers is NORMAL practice. "Who cares?" My tech was physically interrupted at least three times during my 45-minute appointment. "Why focus on the customer when a coworker wants to show you pictures?" Another tech came over and leaned against the workstation just to talk. "Don't mind me, I'm just an observant, paying customer." Then the older male coworker returns from somewhere and comes over to command attention. "I, the customer, am completely invisible." The rest of my time receiving service, I tuned into the prolonged conversation my tech was having with the one seated next to her. I watched as that provider also completely ignored her customer. Perhaps the two felt excluded from the loud, lively gaggle of employees gathered in the middle of the store--toward whom they constantly gazed. It was quite fascinating to observe, actually. They are not mean people. Clearly they do not serve a client base that demands much more. I was there, after all, and not for long. I am just a customer, and also a generous tipper. But I do appreciate being acknowledged as a client and respected as human being, whether I'm paying or not. Just sayin... read more

Be careful with some of the technicians over there. My daughter only had a nail polish change on her hands and feet on her natural nails (not even acrylic) and I was charged $111.50. I thought that was high but I was in rush and didn't think about it. Once home, I thought about it and realized I was overcharged. went back there to show my bank statement and told them the situation, they didn't listen to me. they didn't believe me and I didn't have the right receipt at the time. i was told that I had to bring the right receipt. Unfortunately, I went home to look for it and couldn't find it. The next day I called to speak to the manager to explain the situation and get my money back, but they were very dismissive and disrespectful and never gave me the opportunity to speak to a manager. The lady on the phone even hung up on me stated that she was busy. I was so mad. I even thought of suing. Please, please be careful with this shop and always double check the charges. I'm so disgusted by what happened to me. I have been doing my nails for more than 25 years and never had a problem like that. Hope that can help someone else read more

Horrible experience. The guy who did my pedicure had a bad attitude. He was obviously talking bad about me with this gal. I asked him to be careful when he was scrubbing my feet because he was hurting me and that made him mad. He also threw the hot towels on his chair before placing them over my legs. I think that's a little unsanitary because o don't know what's been on that chair. I don't recommend this place because of the poor customer service in most of the employees. Dirty, rude... appointments aren't necessary during covid-19!!! My husband and I came in for pedicures and we were seated quickly. I had an older gentleman that was not very friendly. I asked for the pedicure menu because I wanted to treat us to a upgraded pedi today. The menu was very basic saying things like basic, deluxe but no description of what the pedicures included with the upgrades. I opted for the deluxe because when I asked about the others the employees who was working on us just shook their heads. He started by drilling the gel off of my toes instead of soaking it, which I asked him not to do but he continued. Not wanting to cause a scene I let it go. He then put a scrub on my legs and with one hand rubbed it for about 30 seconds each (and that is being generous). He put my feet back in the water and continued with the pedicure. He begins to drain the water and I am wondering why he hasn't done my sugar/salt scrub yet. When I asked about it he lost his temper and started complaining about me in vietnamese. Then the whole salon started talking in vietnamese and looking at me. The co-worker of his told him that he should do what I'm asking so after he was told to do the scrub massage he did. But then he didn't do any lotion massage. I didn't want to get chewed out again for asking for something that has ALWAYS came with a pedicure so I just stayed quiet. I had asked for gel polish when I came in but since he was so rude I opted for regular. He polished my toes and left polish on my skin in many spots. He just got up and walked away and didn't say anything to me. The pedicure was listed on the menu for $37 but we were charged $40 each. Lesson learned, even my husband said it was the most disappointing pedicure he's ever had!!! Very unprofessional! Side Note. They have shower curtains hanging in front of the pedicure stations that has lotions and scrubs from previous clients on the bottom of them, I was careful not to touch it. A friend and I were looking for a new place to get our nails done so we decided to try out this place. I should start by saying that she speaks Vietnamese so could understand what they were saying. I know that typically we're told that we are paranoid If we think they are talking poorly about us...but these people actually were! While he was massaging my feet, I asked if he could massage harder. Apparently he complain about it, and then one of the other nail technicians said that if I asked again that he should slap me and make me bleed. So, the friend with said that that was horrible customer service and they shouldn't talk about their customers like that, and when they denied it, she just repeated back everything they had said. Sigh.... I wandered in this place because it was the only nail shop around Arundel Mills Mall and I was in the need of a mani badly! Never again will I venture into a nail shop without the help of Yelp reviewers, OMG.... My review... when you go inside, its a pretty big space with 10 nail stations and about 8 pedi chairs. The only thing that turned me off was the cut out numbers in each station... tacky isn't the word..Other than that, the presentation was nice. I was greeted with a friendly hello and immediately seated with a lady who I obviously disturbed as she discontinued online shopping at gap.com.... She seemed a little nice but apparently spoke very little English. The upsell...As any business goes, they always try to make you spend more money than you intended to, but this chick tried me... she offered an eyebrow wax for $10, nah, I'm good. Then she offered to wax my upper lip, STOP THE RECORD! I have hair on my upper lip! And you can see it in dim lighting 2 feet away, really?!?! Hmmph, no thanks, do my nails and I will be out of here. Long story short..... She yanked away at my cuticles like she was pissed and even chopped away at skin that did nothing to her... she painted the polish on SO thick that even after drying my nails for 10 minutes at the FAN (I guess the UV nail dryer wasn't available) it was still not dry...... There's more... She charged my card for a wax that I had previously refused and I had to wait for the store manager to come back to void it out because the 10 techs that worked there didn't know how and I refused their gift certificate. (Like I really would want to come back) I got my money back thank goodness! And I save the best for last.. after the nail tech patted my nail determining that 10 minutes was enough time to dry eleven coats of polish I completed my payment (TIPPED HER) and left, 85% of my nails completely messed up before I made it to my car. Imagine all the things that can go wrong at a nail salon. Okay now imagine you just moved to the area and are looking for a new spot to get your nails done. Maybe it's just my luck. All I want is a decent manure but I always have a wacky experience somehow. Today was no exception. I went in to find a busy salon that looked a little chaotic and dirty. I was seated after a few minutes. I had a lady who said her name was Diane. She had me pick out my polish while she ran around talking to a number of other techs and clients. When she returned she got started on my hands. She worked on me for a few minutes before asking me a few questions. She wasn't listening to my answers because she repeated the same questions again a few moments later. She was talking to the tech next to us in another language. She took a phone call, texted someone, and got up about 5 times in 3 minutes. Each time she turned back to me, she forgot where she had left off. She explained how it is so busy there all the time and she comes in at 6am sometimes. When I asked how much it was going to be she said $40. I asked her to break it down for me. $35 for acrylic fill, $15 for gel polish, and $3 to cut my nails. Huh??? I asked again to clarify. She said because it was my first time I had to pay more. Next time would be cheaper. Then she calls another client while buffing my nails. She did not cut my cuticles. She did not massage my hands. She barely remembered to do my right hand. She slopped some oily scrub on my hands and told me to go wash them. I reminded her it was my first time and I didn't know where to go. I would have taken my purse but I had goop in both hands. After washing my hands I decided to leave. I couldn't take this horrible place and the bad service. I looked around. The UV lamps for gel were all scattered around, some on the floor some on chairs. They were not built into the stations. The floor was a mess. The tools she used on me were not cleaned afterwards. Ugh. I picked up my purse and asked how much. She said $40. I told her I was leaving. She said ok $35. For just a fill? She said next time would be $25. I asked her to show me a price list. She said ok ok $25. Buyer beware of this place. read more
