This is my second time coming at this location, and the appointment process was just as smooth as the first! Everything was newly renovated from the last time I came and it's truly one of the best nail salons in the area. Nicely lit and everything felt so cozy. I was greeted with smiles and the workers were really nice. I've had a struggle with finding a nail tech who can match the inspiration pics, especially for ombré designs, but my nail tech Henry, nailed it! I brought in a peachy nail design, and they're pretty much identical. I genuinely appreciate the attention to detail, making sure I liked the color choice and placement. I'm in love with my Gel X nails! As for the pedicure, Lina did my nails and she shaped and colored them so nice. The pedicure included a nice leg massage too, which I needed after being on my legs super long for work. This was a very much needed pamper, and their service is top notch. I usually go with kathy every couple of months at this location. This experience was not it. I asked for short acrylic french tip and I got paired with a male tech. This service truly felt rushed and you can tell in the nail work. He didn't cover the nail fully with acrylic powder and the french tips aren't straight. During my service I had to send a couple texts on my phone and he was being passive aggressive about "dust" being on my nails and even showed me a piece of lint up to my face. I then told him what am I looking at as he continued to blame me for the dust. I might've accidentally touched the gel light with my nail but inside of it it's bumpy and has a lot of lint and dust. Unfortunately after this experience I won't be coming back. I was also charged $75 for this. read more

I went in 3/21 and paid $204 for a 2 dip pedicures (on my pedicure I added two fake nails on my big toes since my nails were super short) and a dip manicure w gel. I absolutely LOVED how my pedicure came out.. the nail tech did an amazing job when it came to the appearance.. BUT the following day.. my right toe started getting itchy and swollen... I had seen that the inner part of my toe was the one that was the most swollen along with the bottom part.. I had left it alone and placed ice packs on it... later on that night when I was trying to fall asleep.. I couldn't due to the amount of pain.. I was crying of pain.. to the point where I put a light to it and attempted to file the sides of it and the bottom part.. it had seemed like the acrylic was potentially poking me in those areas.. then I realized the pain continued and began to see that the acrylic was glued onto my skin.. I had to call my mom over in the middle of the night to come take it off. I was sooo disappointed because it barley lasted 24 hours, I was in pain and I paid soo much for the nails. Now the hands.. I had asked the gentleman for dip w French tip (gel) but with a clear pink dip powder for the base.. he began to add the pink dip powder and seen I had short nails.. after applying the dip he said no.. he said he'll do pink nails.. cause he already put the pink dip.. and I said no... I want French tip.. he then said my nails were to short for French tip (but the lady who painted french tip on my toe nails could do it.. and my toe nails are smaller) so I said no.. if I'm going to have to do a solid color.. I'm going to do all white. So he seemed upset but still did the white with chrome on top.. but when he was doing my nails... it felt like he was rushing through it... he applied to much dip and nail polish to the point it went over my skin, he did not file around the cuticles so now they lifted and when I brush my hair with my hands.. the hair gets stuck in my nails. He failed to remove any excess amount of cuticles.. and he cut my skin multiple times... I'm more upset because the amount I paid to get these types of results... I will say.. I have been here before and the lady that wears the black shirt with their logo.. she's good when it comes to manicures. I should have asked for her. read more

I try to avoid chores. Like pumping gas used to be a struggle that required focused will to checkmark. And cutting my own feet nails, and cleaning my own feet is a task that I cannot manage. I am not sure why? The quickest answer is to say that I am lazy. But quick response is a lazy thought process. So I will comfort myself, and explain that even though I could figure out a why to cut my own nails, I chose to cut them myself in the name of being pampered. And this place does pamper, it might be a bit informal in its proceedings, but, it does the informal with charm, like a chef who serves you French quarter gumbo in a coffee mug, with no handle. I have been there a few times, and I always enjoy the experience but today, I had an experience that convinced me to Yelp the place with glow! I got there, and the place had no nail tech ready. So I sat and waited for my pedicure. It game me time to explore the decorations on the walls--- three of them are pictured on this yelp. The first one reads, in neon green, "My Nails are Better than Yours." I wonder who would say that and mean it? On face value it simply reads as arrogant. But with a bit of imagination, it might be an offering of help. Like , a person is trying to secure help from another. And the second person is reluctant. The first person says, "trust me, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, and my nails are better than yours." The second picture shows, in purple neon, the words " Nails yes, you maybe." I see a woman going through her bills. And sees her bank account. She has enough for her nails, and she decides to get them done, and put her water bill second. Her nails are the priority, not showers. The third picture is simply a reminder to all that no matter how you feel, you can be stunning each and every day. I enjoyed imagining the worlds that the neon words created within me, it was the best wait for a nail tech that I had in my life. My pedicure was done by Nancy/NGA. I know that her birth name is NGA because I zelled a tip to her. Nancy was the name she used when she introduced herself to me. As I was looking at her I was reminded of my mother. For you see, my mom was a housekeeper for over 30 years, and she toiled and burnt for me, so I can develop a life beyond my dreams. That is the true result of her work. When I saw NGA use water to clean my feet, I saw a woman do the same. I felt a mother lovingly tending to my feet. I used my phone to translate a message to her that basically thanked her for being a laborer that provided others the building blocks for a better life. When I showed her the message, I saw her energy shift. When she concluded my pedicure, she tapped me on my knee and said thank you. We were using phones, and nods, and not a common language between the two of us, but we were still able to communicate shared cultural values, all while I was getting my feet done, and all while she honored her family by hard work. i go get my nails done, to keep my feet clean enough to wear sandals. If it were not for that, then I would not go get my nails done. This experience was wonderful and it was great to share. Hopefully, it works to remind others the why behind labor that is often seen as less by some. read more

Normally, I'm one who does not like change and will go to the same girl to get my nails done. The problem with that is I have to drive far, and sometimes I just don't feel like it, because it takes up a lot of my day. I noticed this nail salon when they moved in on Gaffey awhile back, but didn't rush to go in. Finally one day, I decided to give them a try and I've now been coming over here for the last few months. This nail shop is located in the 7-11 shopping center on Gaffey and 1st. The heavy hitters in this shopping center are 7-11 and Wingstop. Nail Addict is right next door to a smoke shop and Wingstop. I try to go in when they first open, because parking in that shopping center can be a real mission, but I've been a few times in the evening and it's not too bad. Would not recommend this place to anyone I say save your pennies and go somewhere better. I don't get my nails done often at a salon, for this exact purpose. I walked in and asked what do you offer other than gel, she said regular nail polish. I said okay cool. I asked her can you do designs with regular nail polish she said no only gel I said OK fair I'll just pick a regular nail polish color which to me is kind of pointless. I said yes please she said OK proceeds to start shaping them and as you can see in the pictures, they were still not shaped some of them are still square round some of them are more round and maybe one nail is actually almond shape. I told her a second time and this time The other worker even told her almond she's asking for almond and I don't think the lady still understood. She finished with my nails fan them for like five seconds with a flyer because they didn't even have a fan to dry my nails and then laughed and I was left to have to blow on them myself which is not a big deal but you come to a salon you expect the service to be done for you. This review is not about the quality of service, as I didn't end up receiving the service I needed. This is review is regarding customer service. I called ahead on a Monday afternoon to check if they could do a nail repair and possibly builder gel. I had gel polish on my natural nails, but one had a crack and I needed a repair along with a full polish change. They asked me to come in to assess the situation, but once there, I was told I'd need to come back the next day since the tech who does gel X doesn't work on Mondays. The tech on site wasn't confident she could do my nails, as she primarily handled basic manicures. I do appreciate her honesty. My suggestion is to call ahead or make an appointment to ensure the right tech is available for your needs. I took away 1 star only because I think there should always be someone on staff to address "advanced" nail issues. Really appreciate this place! I have went here twice now and got two different full set of acrylics done. (First set in picture) and I loved them. Ive been going to this salon for a couple months now. I wanted to wait a bit before i left my honest review. I went in and had to wait 20 minutes past my time, even though i came in 10 minutes before my appointment. Ive watched the work get progressively worse. I paid $60 for a full set, short square round and i sat down and the polish and strengthener i had on, she didnt bothered taking off. Just tried to glue over the polish. Just that alone was a huge flag. She did nothing to prep the nail, just tried to glue over nail polish. Smh. Then the tips she put on are alot bigger then my nail beds so that required alot of side filing and drilling. I can see the polish that she used the efile on and now i have jagged lines through my nails. The whole experience was terrible. They use cheap products from Shein that cost $2. Whats sad is i really like the ladies in there. Its just a shame theres no pride in ones work. Response to the owner: My nail beds did nothing to warrant that lazy prep work. Oh wait, there was none because she glued the tips directly onto the polish previously on my nails. And she even asked if it was clear. I said yes, wait no its opi nail strengthener. Those striations are not my nail bed but the polish under the acrylic. There's no excuse for that. Any certified tech knows that. And the powders and chrome products you use are cheap and do come from Shein because ive ordered those exact products.
