Fraud alert! If I could give 0 stars I would. This salon said $45 for a fill when I first came in, and then at checkout they added a bunch of extra fees. John, the technician was excellent. But sadly you will get overcharged and lied to at checkout. I believe it's the law in California to post all prices clearly so the consumer knows what their final costs would be and I believe the technician is also required to notify the consumer of addons they will be charging for. Great service and excellent experience, for such a good price! The ladies working there are super nice and very funny. I love visiting them for my pedicures. They have good massage seats, and also massage and moisturize your legs after your pedicure! A huge quality that this nail spa has is the materials that you purchase for $5 that you keep and bring back for every visit, giving you a sense of comfort knowing that only your nails have been worked on using those materials! Very sanitary! My only complaint would be the temperature in the spa. It was helpful that it's wintertime and it's been pretty cool, however they do not have A/C, which could be an issue during hotter weather. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for people wanting to save a few bucks on self-care, who don't mind sacrificing the extra luxuries and added perks for the same quality nails! read more

This place is great. Sometimes you have to wait, but they get right to you. I can only speak to the gel services because that is a service I get every two weeks. Here's the problem... my nails have been peeling and chipping 1-2 days after getting them done, sometimes I ask them to put a small rhinestone on my nail and that too falls out: I've noticed that in between adding the coats, they only let my hand stay under the light for 1-15 seconds. According to the cosmetology books, your nails should stay 30-90 for each coat which includes base, polish and top. These group of ladies are amazing and do a great job!!!! I just want my hand to stay under the light longer and not for you to yell at me when I say, "wait, few more seconds"!!! Hahaaaa read more

I brought my 14 year old daughter here to get her nails done for a one time event, just some simple nails because she doesn't like nails and they don't last long on her. The nail tech was forcing me to purchase a nail filing kit and kept telling me how she needs it for the next time she returns and we kept telling her no she isn't coming back we don't need it and how this is a one time thing, my daughter doesn't get her nails done at all it was just for this one time. But she was rude and pushy, and she kept telling me how I HAVE to purchase that kit and it's only $3 and I just told her no I don't HAVE to purchase anything if I don't want to. Also the salon was so dirty and disgusting, the ac wasn't on I'm not sure if it didn't work so it was warm and musty inside, my daughter said she was unhappy with her nails but she said she plans on taking them off after her event, and they didn't have the color she was looking for so had to go with red. after not getting my nails done for a while i was excited when places started opening up again. i was willing to spend as much as possible to get my nails done for an event. well, i feel very deceived because this place has good ratings and i cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. i went in for a simple acrylic set and the lady basically felt really rushed and didn't even bother to keep the polish neat at all. not only that some of the nails were completely flat and not enough acrylic to ensure the strength of the set. i've never gotten a "flat" straight nail. not happy and would not return here. it seemed to me that maybe she's never done it before because i'm not good at doing nails myself but not even i would have made it this bad. ps. they don't even use cuticle oil at the end. this business is not here to deliver quality. read more

The lady that did my nails was very nice but the work was mediocre. Shape was what I wanted but the nails had a lot of acrylic on some parts and they looked very think one just off. There's acrylic on the bottom of my nails that I can't take off. There was acrylic residue on my fingers also. They didn't like that I didn't get gel (because why if I only wanted the color I got for a party) so they didn't have the machine to dry them and they had so much top coat they wouldn't dry. read more

I walked by to ask price for mani pedi $27, sounds like a great deal! I was a bit skeptical noting the floors did not look clean and the selection of nail polish was a lot on off brands and not fresh looking. Bottles has been sitting and contents separated. I took a seat in pedicure chair while I watched the technician go eat ( she was not in the break room) and then only rinsed her finger tips off at the sink- did NOT wash with soap and water (unsanitary). When the technician returned to my chair 10 mins later I asked if she could please re wash her hands properly. Having all of the barbisol training signed posted was a joke. Also noting that the technician said it was an additional $3 charge for her disposable emory board and buffer, stating i could bring it to future services. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for a clean and sanitary experience. I decided to not stay and asked for towel to dry off my feet and depart because I was not comfortable with the way this shop was operating. read more

Terrible, Terrible job. I have a nail lady I usually always go to at another location but she's out on vacation so I decided to come here since it's close to home. Nothing professional about this place at all. Went in wanting a French fade and they said they couldn't do it and offered to do a french tip manicure. I said sure since I've never had it done. I felt like the lady I got was doing the tip too thick for my taste and I wanted it thinner but she didn't care to listen she said her way was better. She ended up doing gel on my nails when I didn't want gel and again she continued to say it would look better... in the end my nails were uneven, bubbly (from the gel somehow), and completely ugly because I had gel all over my hands and paint on my skin. Also, it seemed like she was in a rush to get me out of there even though it was just me and one other girl, absolutely rude. I rather wait the whole 2 month to get my nails done from who I usually go to than to get them done here again. I went to my usual place and had someone fix my nails they were shocked at my nails and also even laughed at how horrible the job was done. Seriously ladies, save your money and go somewhere else instead of here pay the extra 5$ elsewhere cause you're going to end up going somewhere else to get your nails fixed like I did and end up spending more. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I usually stick to my nail lady but I was in the neighborhood and decided to try a new place. I'm pretty easy I just get a regular pedicure and gel manicure. No shape or anything. I had my boyfriend come with me and he got a pedicure as well. They were done with him after 5 mins if that. I was scared to stick my feet in the water because I could see the scum around the spa bowl. It wasn't just disgusting but they didn't even try to do a good job. Decided to walk in at 9 AM and wait to get my temperature checked and asked for a callus remover with French tip, no gel. Lisa was so GENTLE with my feet, and the ladies around her were so welcoming. I've been coming here for a bit over 2 years. To make a long story short, I tried getting my acrylics done at a nail salon a bit closer to home after moving to Long Beach.. I immediately regretted it. The ladies at Professionail do excellent work. I never feel judged for off requests (I like my acrylics cut short and tips rounded; apparently it's unusual), I never feel rushed, and the staff is always friendly. Prices are pretty standard. In fact, just before discovering this shop, I had gone to a much cheaper nail salon on Gaffey and, well.. you get what you pay for. The nail job was so bad (too much glue and acrylic, they were really thick and the tips glued way too close to the base of the nail), that the woman at Professionail who removed and redid them didn't charge me for the removal. This place it top notch. I will continue going out of my way to Pedro for quality nails. read more

I've been going to Professionail for years and each time, I walk out with - if I do say so - great looking hands. The employees listen to what you want - and never rush you, even if other clients are waiting. Very friendly folks and will offer you soda, water, tea - if you so desire. I've had pedi's a few times and the women give terrific leg massages. For me, I've tried others and unfortunately, one time, at another place in San Pedro, I had a women file my thumbnail with (according to my dematologist) with an unsanitary file, resulting in an infection. NEVER the case with Professionail, sanitary to be sure. Also, I'm one to ask for a mask as the fine particles - if you get fills such as I do - are downright dangerous to inhale. In my younger days, I inhaled enough cig smoke, figure I don't need to do more lung damage. Walk-ins but appointments are always best. Parking lot is in a Ralphs center - plenty of parking AND best of all... YOGURTLAND just a few steps away for a post mani-pedi treat! read more

Got a gel mani and spa pedi here, and the price was fine ($40 or $45) but after a week's worth of growth the gel started to pull up at the bottom of my nails. I've had much better looking polish jobs at other places. I will say though, that the massage part was nice with the pedi. They didn't wear gloves (which I feel totally ruins a massage) and I appreciate that! read more

ProfessioNAIL is a hidden gem. I have been here twice and both times my nails turned out great! Only $25 for a full set of pink and whites and $14 for a spa pedicure...the extras such as callus remover and UV gel top coat run $5 each but are definitely worth it! They also have a stamp card for your visits and after 10 visits you get a free service! I recommend Tina or her sister Cindy...both ladies do a great job and are very thorough. I'd really love to give this salon a better review as the nail techs were very nice and did a good job. But this place is FILTHY! I'm not talking a little dirty; I'm talking FILTHY! I honestly cannot believe I stayed, but I knew I was not going to have another chance to have them done for at least another week. There was dirt, dust, HAIR, pieces of nails, nails dust and actual cob webs hanging off the surveillance cameras. I was sitting in a chair facing Park Western and happened to glance at the far left corner and I'm sure my face winced up. The tools were dirty, the curing lights had streaks of dirt inside where you put your hands... the polish had been there so long the color separated and there was layers of dust on all the bottles, racks, rolling tables... I don't see how this place ever passed any type of inspection! read more

I'm a bit disappointed, Yelpers. This might have been a 3 or 4 star review if I didn't feel like they overcharged me. On the price board, a mani/pedi is $24. The lady charged me $29, but I did not agree to any extra services nor did I get any designs or whatever. I even repeated "29?" to make sure I heard right, and looked straight up at the board to double check. I paid and tipped them anyway because I wasn't in the mood to argue about it, but I'm not happy and won't be returning. I've never had that happen to me, all my years of nail care and I do strongly hope that it was just a misunderstanding, seeing that most of the reviews are very positive. Nail polish selection is slim with only a few good brands. The interior isn't anything fancy, just your average nail spa. The ladies seem very nice and attentive but it's still your standard customer service you'd expect with a language barrier. The girl who did my manicure didn't cover my whole nail with the top or bottom coats. She missed a pretty significant gap at the side of most of my nails. They don't rush you out of your seat though, so that was nice. I was hoping this would be my new spot since I've moved, but it looks like I am going to have to keep searching. read more

I went here to get a mani and pedi. I wasn't very satisfied with the service I received. My pedicure was fine but it was my manicure that I didn't like. It honestly looked very awful. When I brought it to the attention to the woman that did my manicure she got an attitude. She blamed me for the terrible job that she did. Then she repeated her rationale behind why it was my fault to another customer. Obviously the other customer didn't believe her because she too thought my manicure didn't look good. I guess the customer felt bad because she gave me a number to another nail salon and told me that they can do your nails better than that..... This was my 3rd visit here - I will not be back. I got a full set of acrylic nails in Oct, yesterday was my 2nd fill. Same women did them all. 1) the original full set lifted a lot and on the fill she didn't get all the parts that were lifted off. Yesterday she drilled & picked until I jerked my hand back, but said they were lifting and she needed to get it off. At one point, on my pinkie, I said "Just stop - it really hurts." She poured alcohol on it, which made it sting. There are pink lines in my nail bed where she went too deep & it is sore today. A woman I believe is the owner was sitting next to me working on a client. She never asked if everything was OK when I cried out and jerked my hand. 2) the first 2 times there were bubbles in the gel on top, even though I asked for a thin gel coat. 3) the salon is not clean, there was an iced drink plastic cup sitting there that clearly had been there a long time with a bit left in the bottom. 4) the prices are good, but remember, you get what you pay for. I just finally had enough. I'm planning on going back today to talk to the owner and get my money back. read more

Worst. Rushed me. Spoke rudely to me. Filed my nails uneven waaay uneven. When I showed her and asked her to even it out she got really offended. She filed the nail and it became even worse. The polish was put on unevenly its bumpy with the bubbles. I'm so sad. I wanted so bad to be able walk out bbn of there happy. I'm not even a picky person about my nails, I let small imperfections slide but this is just awful. I have to go get them done elsewhere now and spend another $50.
