stopped in randomly and grabbed some deli sandwiches! super yummy and the service was great. we loved the mountain tavern vibes & decor

Step outside the bar and you're in the mountains.

This is the definition of "local dive". A bar that is truly in the middle of nowhere. Typical bar food. A bit overpriced for what you get. But a neat, authentic, and local experience.

After visiting Mt. Rainier we stopped by for a snack/bite to eat to hold us down until we got into Seattle. The service was great and quick. The bartender took our order and the food came out shortly after. The fried chicken was really super burnt or extra crunchy. The bar could use a deep cleaning but a cool quick grab and go spot.

How can this place get 3-stars? It's awesome. Dive bar with food. How much better can it get? Bikers, tourists, locals, drunks, yuppies from Colorado, people like me drinking an "N/A" ... all welcome STOP IN HERE!

As previous comments mentioned, this is the last spot before driving up to Crystal or Rainier. Stopped here on a Sunday night after a drive around. Very welcoming & staff were all amazing. The area is nice, typical bar with pool tables, booths and bar seating. The place is covered in $1 bills with written notes on them & you can leave one as well. I ordered the naches nachos with ground beef (which is huge btw and shareable with 3-4 people) and it was pretty good! It comes with sour cream and salsa (which was okay). My friend ordered the Tavern Burger which he said tastes like a homemade burger and was good. There is a late night menu with limited items starting at 7pm btw! I was lucky enough to arrive before 7 to order some food. I did not get a chance to get a photo of the limited menu but it does not include nachos and a burger so arrive before 7pm to get this. Overall I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something to eat before or after the mountains!

This place is epic. The service is fantastic, the food is great, and the drinks are ice cold. The bartenders we had - Chloe and Julie (manager) were phenomenal. A group walked in that was completely obstinate (tonight), and Julie was good on the professional (and legal) boundaries, and they were complete jerks, but she was awesome.

If you like dive bars you will love this spot. Apparently it's been here for over 100 years and honestly it's an awesome spot to get a drink and hang out before you go further into the drive into crystal mountain or mt Rainer ... bartender was very nice and friendly I didn't try the food but heard good things about the burgers... The spot is very local and tourist friendly.

We ordered 3 BLT & 1 Toasted Cheese sandwiches off of a Chalkboard menu that showed no prices, but thought they would be relatively lower priced than the other items....WRONG! $15/BLT & $10 for the Cheese, but I let it go because it was the only place to get some food before we went into the mountain to hunt mushrooms. Wellllll....besides the ludicrous prices, it took 40 minutes to get the "food". PLUS.... The BLT's consisted of 3 pieces of Bacon, 3 lettuce leaves, 2 Tomatoes, NO Mayo (a drab of Butter substituted, and the Bread was untoasted. The Grilled Cheese sandwich consisted of 3-slices of Velvetta Cheese & the Bread was untoasted. The French Fries were the only good thing, but even so....NO KETCHUP.

Wow, how cool that we can go out again! If you give a small piece of nostalgia anything other than 5 starts something is wrong with you. The drinks were served up quick. The food was good and the service was and is one of a kind. I'll be back to cause some trouble soon. There's your warning. Don't forget a sharpie and some 1 dollar bills to make a wish........

Waited an hour for the meal Fries were ice cold, ordered a tavern cheese burger and got a chicken burger. The best thing about this place was the beer. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

My sister and I spent the weekend at Crystal Mountain but were looking for a local spot to grab breakfast on our way back to the city. Naches Tavern is a gem. The staff is friendly and the food is great! There's a unique lounge area in the back on the restaurant with a fireplace that keeps you cozy! The bartender, Larry will have you smiling and laughing from start to finish. Definitely worth a visit just to meet this guy!

I stopped in here after fishing all day on the Naches river. This place has been here for 100 years; it is an iconic roadside tavern, a true piece of Americana. I ordered a basic cheeseburger and fries along with a tasty IPA. The staff was friendly, the food was hot and tasty but nothing special. The restrooms need some serious help.

Great service, super burgers and cold beer. The only remit isn't five stars is the cost. The Tavern burger (pictured) is $14 and comes with American cheese- but read the fine print (or find the fine print as I didn't see it), when offered American, Swiss, or Pepperjack, my choice of Pepperjack added $1to the tab. A bit sleezy for any place. $5.50 for pint of Sierra. Lots of seating inside and out.

The vibe is laid-back and welcoming. Every server we interacted with was smiling and genuinely friendly. It really added to the atmosphere. You can tell the staff enjoys working there, and that kind of energy is infectious. Now, the food: the burger was exactly what I crave when I think of a good, old-fashioned burger. Nothing over-complicated, just juicy, well-seasoned beef, melted cheese, and a toasted bun. It was cooked just right, with that perfect balance of savory and juicy. Simple, but executed beautifully. On the side? Two absolutely gigantic onion rings that were golden, crispy, and sweet. The batter had a light crunch without being greasy, and the onions inside were tender and flavorful. Basically onion ring perfection. The mozzarella sticks were another standout. Hot, gooey, and with a satisfying cheese pull that was honestly Instagram-worthy. Crispy on the outside, melty on the inside. Exactly how they should be. I wouldn't recommend the cocktails. They were trying too hard with a fancy mixology vibe that didn't quite land. But the beer? Cold, refreshing, and just right with the food and the atmosphere. Why go? If you're looking for a relaxed spot to hang out, enjoy a game, and eat some really solid comfort food, this place delivers. It's the kind of place you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

PEOPLE OF EARTH: If you haven't experienced the pure chaos that is Boots Tavern, you're living in…read morethe shadow realm of hospitality. This establishment doesn't just serve drinks--they serve EXPERIENCES, specifically soundtracked by an endless loop of Smash Mouth, Avril Lavigne, and *NSYNC that would make Carson Daly weep tears of frosted-tipped joy. The bartenders here don't just pour drinks--they're like spiritual guides through the realm of grain alcohol enlightenment. They've got stuff so potent it could strip paint off a submarine, and they serve it with the kind of confidence usually reserved for bomb disposal experts. Their signature drink, "The Y2K Bug," comes with a mandatory signing of medical release forms and a brief consultation with your next of kin. But let's talk about their commitment to the early 2000s pop music scene. The jukebox exists in a temporal loop where it's perpetually 2003. "All Star" plays every 47 minutes with the precision of an atomic clock. I once witnessed a group of investment bankers completely lose it during "Bye Bye Bye," performing the original choreography with such passion that Justin Timberlake probably felt a disturbance in the force. The weekly karaoke nights are the stuff of local legend. Every Thursday, the entire bar transforms into what I can only describe as "American Idol meets Thunder Dome." Last week, someone performed Britney's "Oops!... I Did It Again" while dressed as a fully-operational vending machine. The crowd went so wild they had to replace three load-bearing walls the next day. The regulars here have developed their own bizarre ecosystem. There's a group that shows up every Tuesday wearing matching bedazzled jumpsuits, and nobody questions it. The staff has started timing their drink service to the exact moment Christina Aguilera hits the high note in "Beautiful." Five stars. Would absolutely risk permanent hearing damage from singing along to "Who Let The Dogs Out" for the 47th time while sipping something that could probably power a jet engine. Just remember to bring your flame-retardant crop top and your signed liability waiver. P.S. The bathroom graffiti is exclusively written in boy band lyrics. It's basically a museum at this point.

After 7 nights of cruise food, we were ready to try something new and local. Sharp's was only 5 minutes from our hotel, and highly rated, so I figured we would give it a shot. We arrived at the restaurant to a full parking lot with people standing outside. However, when we went in, the wonderful hostess informed us there was no wait. The seater showed us to our table, and chatted with us about our day along the way. He also explained the 3 menus that he gave us, and informed us we were right in time for happy hour. Our server, Sam, greeted us promptly, and she was so incredibly welcoming to our family, answering questions about the menu items. It was so hard to decide what to order, so we ordered several small plates (Brisket nachos, Wings, Brisket tacos, fries, and mac and cheese, along with the complimentary cornbread). To our surprise, everything came out so quickly. This was probably the fastest service I've ever had at a restaurant. The servers who delivered our food were friendly and welcoming as well. Not only that, EVERYTHING we ate was phenomenal. The fries were flavorful and perfectly salted, the wings were fantastic, and the brisket nachos? Wow....the brisket was some of the best we've ever had, and the nacho chips even stood out. The biggest compliment is from our 15 year old who said that the mac and cheese is some of the best pasta she's ever had. Throughout the whole meal, Sam was so attentive and chatting with us about the restaurant and dessert options. I truly enjoyed everything about our experience. The food and service both were top notch. The only thing I didn't like about this restaurant is that I'll have to book another flight to Seattle from Michigan to eat there. I'll be recommending it to everyone I know though!
