    Dry kalguksu

Its interesting that they have dry kalguksu, it tastes good. The dumplings and regular kalguksu are also nice, eat it with their kimchi and spicy sauce taste even better

Adding kimchi onto the cold noodles is just perect

It was recommended by my Korean friend and the taste was just authentic! Nothing really fancy, but the environment is just cozy enough for family and friends to chat. Most of the restaurant go-ers are Korean families too! Ordered their signature king size steamed dumplings! I was so full after having two of them First time trying cold noodles with soya milk(?) soup base, which is pretty cool, and a bit stuffed too since the soup is in a "congee" kind of texture , it taste kinda plain too me having it alone, but adding kimchi on top is just perfect!! We might wanna try Korean barbecue in the next visit

This is a abnormal Korean restaurant, maybe we should say it just a bit different than the regular Korean food that we know. We were trying to celebrate my husband's birthday. And his friend recommended this one. We checked online, pictures seem showinh white colour noodles soup or dumplings. And the name of the restaurant also mainly have "Noodles". I was wondering if it could be something special or we should try something that we know. But my husband would like to try. We entered the restaurant, the staff were all Koreans. That means it is traditional Korean food. So we decided to try. We had a mousse cake in our car that need to put in the fridge, but they kind of not really want to put in their fridge. When we looked at the menu, we have no clue what we could have, because the food is not regular Korean food. The menu was quite simple, noodles, dumplings, hot pot and pork hocks. So we checked on other tables, most of them had noodles and dumplings, or hot pots. My husband wanted the pork hocks, which I hadn't seen anyone ordered it, not sure how it looked like. We asked the waitress how it was. She told us a plate of pork hocks will come with a little bit of vegetables to wrap up the meat. But we need to order noodles separately. We ordered a plate of brainsed garlic pork hocks and a bowl of noodles. Because I couldn't have too spicy, and they don't have little spicy level, and pork hocks with cheese was unknow. So we have the basic ones. The plate of pork hocks was big and they also offered a heat plan to keep it warm, then a few veggie leaves came with it. The bowl of noodles Soup was good enough for two of us, but not much meat inside. Perhaps too much of meat, we couldn't finish all of them, we have to pack it up and enough for another meal. I would like to say this is new experience to us, we have never tried this type of Korean food. We might like it if go for some noodles and dumplings first next time.

Authentic Korean dishes consistently good as maple syrup is on waffles. Get there before noon or be prepared to wait. Steamed dumplings garlicky and crunchy. Noodle soup comes piping hot Ain't no doubt about it, this place is da bomb

I remembered coming to this place many years ago, and thinking wow, their kimchi is amazingly flavorful. Since then, I have been thinking about their kimchi on, and off, and finally went back on a crisp Autumn day :D I neglected to take a photo of their most recent dine in menu so the prices I'm listing below are being pulled from their website as or November 2023 :') I know they're not 100% accurate, but I promise you, their food is so worth it even if you add on a few more dollars per dish due to inflation. -[KALGUKSU + BRAISED PORK] $20.99 Okay, so I was planning on ordering a whole plate of the garlic sauce braised pork but the price point was pretty up there ($40+) which is why I opted for this combo since it had both their Traditional Korean noodle soup, AND their braised pork :D Their soup is very flavorful, and made from beef broth - honestly a 10/10 base for their noodles. It's also not spicy at all if that concerns you too. Definitely great for sharing with a table if you order the other items I'll mention below too -[MYUNGDONG KING SIZE DUMPLINGS - 6 PCS] $13.99 Holy, each of these dumplings is the size of a fist haha aka very filling. I feel like eating two of them back-to-back could easily be a light meal due to how packed each dumpling is with their filling of ground pork, and vegetables. The sauce for these dumplngs (if you want any as I found them plenty flavorful without sauce) is on the side of the table in a large bottle! -[SEAFOOD PANCAKE] $20.99 OKAY, I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST. I have had so many seafood pancakes in my life from various Korean restaurants but THIS one wins. The pancake is actually packed with seafood such as squid, and clams, and green onions too but the reason this wins is beyond just what they add to the dish. The pancake is also CRISPY with every bite :D Just like for the dumplings, the sauce for the pancake is the same one found on the table meaning you can sauce it up as much as you want -[KIMCHI] FREE Their kimchi is just like I remembered it - packed with flavor, and honestly barelty even spicy (but I love spice in general so proceed with caution haha) So freaking good that we packed what we didn't eat so we could finish it at home

Food 4.5, rounded down to 4 due to service. Best Korean Mandu I've ever had! Very hearty fillings; the tofu adds to the texture! Very fresh kimchi, lettuce, and samgyeopsal. The salad pales in comparison a bit both in terms of flavor and the beef. Saw the servers being a bit reserved/disapproving, but they are super nice and warm to the local Korean diners who frequent this eatery. Would have been one of my go-to's as a college student if it were in/near my college-town.

I have been to this place many times. It's still good. Plenty of parking space in the plaza. The noodles are fresh and flavourful and the dumplings are delicious. The price is reasonable and hasn't doubled like some other places. The kimchi is delicious, more on the garlic side. There are no side dishes offered this past time I went . Pay by Cash gets you 10% off discount on your bill

When it comes to Korean dumplings, this is probably the only place I go to. These jumbo sized dumplings are delicious! Merely an order of filling dumplings is enough for me. You have to dip these babies in the sauce and add some chilli in the sauce. They are so satisfying. The only side dish they serve is kimchi, which is a bit rare for Korean restaurants, as they usually have many side dishes. I know they're also famous for KalGukSoo (noodles in beef broth).

    Layla A.

They make really good kimchi and I like that they don't bombard you with side dishes. I got the cold soybean noodles in the summertime and they were absolutely fantastic. The people are nice too and it looks like a lot of regulars eat here.

They are known for their kimchi but they have a lot to offer in Korean food. The kimchi is very garlicky and made with many bold flavours. Though you can purchase their kimchi to go, you can get unlimited helpings at the restaurant, for free. The large dumplings are good too but in my opinion, the texture is a bit soft. Though many do come for the giant dumplings, their noodles and soups are where this place shines. During this visit I got shabu shabu. The meat was a bit tough but the soup as extremely flavourful. It was also served with veggies, fresh noodles, and rice cakes. I would definitely recommend getting something with soup and noodles. The meat itself was kind of though however. The real star of the dinner was the "congee". For an additional fee you can get rice and an egg which is mixed with the remaining soups and topped with an egg. Once the server mixes it, a delicious "congee" is made. This is such a wonderful way to end the meal and I would highly recommend it to anyone who chooses to dine here. Overall, the food was filled with flavour and the service was polite (though a bit forgetful). Definitely worth a visit, at least once.

I was surprised that this place has very good review on Google and less so on Yelp. But since I am nearby for an errand and needed food badly, I will try this one. At the door, there is already a line up, but I later realized that I actually needed to put my name on a list, instead of queuing. And the funny part is that everyone queuing did not know they have to put name on a list. When the list finally filled, the waiting staffs suddenly focus on cleaning up the tables to seat us. Most food in the menu looks nice. And whatever got served on other guest's tables already looking real good. Unfortunately, the meat rib noodle is sold out already at 1pm. So, we ordered the park meat noodle and the very nice looking mouth watering dumplings. The usual appetizer, kimchi, was served with a vivid red color. And when I put that in my mouth, oh my god. I didn't know kimchi can be that good. I was not over spicy and there is this sweetness that gave it a good balance. The cabbage was fermented with the tenderness that is just about right, smooth and soft. The noodle came and I think the photos looked better. But then the broth taste very good, the raised pork is soft and tender. The noodle is smooth, but we think it could have been more chewy. Anyhow, hand made noodle for sure. The dumplings arrived with a near wrong delivery to another table. The dumplings look nice and large. It is on a healthier side the the Chinese pot sticker or dumplings, which the meat a bit more thin, although they were cooked moist and smooth, which even being large, they are still tasty and not too heavy. Overall, the food is pretty good here. The only shortcoming would be the service. While the waiting staffs are nice and polite, they are just too busy with waves of customers.

It's pretty good! I think maybe we should've got something a bit more popular. To be honest, I loved the potato around the hot dog. My girlfriend liked the dog more. I'll try it again for sure, need to give it another chance :)

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.

We ordered the bossam, seafood pancake, and budae jeongol and the bill came to ~$100. The bossam was quite a large portion and the flavour was quite delicious. Our favourite item was the seafood pancake. We devoured that and if given a choice to only order one dish, I would definitely recommend the seafood pancake. The budae jeongol (as a solo dish) could easily feed two people. They pack the soup in two large circular soup-like takeout containers and the ingredients in a square container - same as the ones that the bossam and seafood pancake came in. There were plenty of tteokbokki, sausages, cabbage, and ramen noodles. We put the dish together in a wok and kept it heated on a portable induction cooktop. They gave four containers of banchan: fish cakes, japchae, radish kimchi, and mandu. My only complaint about this experience (4.5/5) was their inaccurate waiting time. I called in around 5 PM on a Wednesday to place my order and they quoted that the order would take around 20 to 25 minutes. I often times also buy just their kimchi to take home as it's very garlicky, fresh and delicious. Spicy pork rice 3.5/5 - A good rice option, but I still prefer their soup better. Jajangmein 3.5/5 - Another one of those dishes that I can skip. Only get it so that we can have a variety saucey noodle dish. I can't recommend this spot enough. Make sure to get their kimchi! But also make sure to check your order before leaving. One time I was there, there was a flustered teenager working the front of house. Because I'm a regular there, I touched my order he handed to me and noticed there was no hot soup burning my hand while holding the take out bag. I like that you can order the egg to be over hard my dad got this and said he liked it. It's his goto! Service was nice. They were so attentive and gave us extra napkins. I do have to say though... They're ALL butter fingers. They dropped things over 5 times on the floor and I saw them put at least 2 of those things back into the clean basket (red) to wipe down and serve. Good thing we sanitize all our utensils everywhere before using them. Vibes are casual. Come in sweatpants. I love their 2000s rnb playlist that they had going.

After we placed our order, they serve us caa cup of hot somen (so good), it warms your stomach. Later the meals came with 5 banchan, they all seasoned perfectly, my favorite is the lotus root and Kimchi. Slice pork broth soup lightly salted and comes with 2 dips (mini sauce pot) on aside, personal preference would be gochujiang mix on the right which gives you a punch of spice. It's hard to find good Korean restaurant in Markham/scarborough. This is definitely a hidden gem, will definitely come back with the boys.

De Chou has a lengthy menu to match with dishes made for a crowd. The kamjatang jeongol ($47.99) is…read morea hot pot stuffed to the gills with pork bones, potatoes, rice cakes, zucchini, and even enoki mushrooms and jalapeno garnishes. The broth wasn't very salty but still flavourful and once you let the peppers steep into the broth, they add a lovely spicy kick. Another substantial dish is the steamed pork bo saam ($49.99 for large) where slices of pork belly are kept warm on a hot plate. Diners tuck these soft meat slices into lettuce, Napa cabbage, and turnip with a smear of the savoury bean sauce for a protein packed bite. Our table was split about the haemui pa jeon ($28.99). The size of a medium pizza, it's made for a group. Personally, I found it way too thick and didn't contain enough ingredients to balance out the doughiness of the Korean style pancake. Conversely, my relatives preferred the heft as it contrasted the crispy exterior and soft interior. I guess it depends if you're a thin versus pan crust type of pizza lover. I'm firmly in the Neapolitan camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the crust that develops on the bottom of yachae dolsot bibimbap ($18.99). And the hot stone rice bowl contained a good combination of ingredients to ensure there was plenty of vegetables and beef to go around. De Chou's LA kalbi ($34.99) was rather neutral with very little sauce, so you mostly taste the beef. I personally would have preferred more sauce to help caramelize onto the beef ribs, but the older members of the family appreciated the plainness and liked that it was tender. This is a long review for the rest go to Gastro World.
