My initial experience with EyeCare About Eyes started off great. I was able to easily schedule my appointment online. When I went to download the New Patient forms a few days later, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could do all of the paperwork online, using a secure connection of course. I had a comprehensive eye exam today performed by Dr. Alicia Kim of EyeCare About Eyes. Dr. Kim was very thorough and quick in her exam and she has excellent patient communication skills. @ Drs. Chen & Chen...you need to keep this one if possible. I didn't wait long at all before my exam commenced. Unfortunately, I didn't get the young lady's name who performed some initial screening. She was very personable. The facility was clean and modern. I especially liked the exam chair because it was very comfortable to sit in. Three things I would recommend as areas for improvement. First, replace the plastic chairs with nicer chairs. The plastic chairs aren't very supportive or comfortable and that's coming from someone with spine issues. Second, consider greatly improving your selection of eyeglasses. I would have liked to give you the business for my eyeglasses purchase, but there wasn't enough of a selection for me to make a choice. If you want to see an example of a great selection of eyeglasses, visit Crestwood Optical in Manassas, VA. Last, get rid of the mask policy. I despise having to wear a mask unless I choose to wear one. Bottom line, count me as a continuing customer, at least for eye care needs.

When I gave myself a gnarly corneal abrasion causing terrible discomfort, my wife (who is a patient…read morehere) told me I should give them a call to have it checked out. Thankfully they were able to fit me in that same day and I saw Dr. Vinh, who diagnosed my abrasion and immediately alleviated my discomfort with numbing drops and a contact lens bandage over my cornea, prescribing me antibiotic drops to take to prevent an eye infection. Long story short I leaned the very hard way that I am allergic to a specific type of antibiotic eye drop (which for the record Dr. Vinh said was quite rare) and my eye swelled up and became badly inflamed overnight, causing me to return the next day and see Dr. Perry, who took great care of me and gave me steroid drops to bring down the inflammation. A day later and my eye was as good as new, and I saw Dr. Vinh again who gave me a clean bill of health. Simply put, I could not have been in better hands than I was with NOVA Vision Center. The professionalism and care that I experienced from the receptionists to the techs to the doctors was second to none. These folks are good at what they do, they truly care about their patients, and it shows. I now look forward to making them my new eye care place in the future, hopefully next time under better circumstances! :)

Rachel has created a calm, airy and bright environment with individually curated hand-selected frames. This review is for Dr. Kim Hein Nguyen, the optometrist associated with Target Optical and not the…read moreoptical retail store. I originally came to Dr. Nguyen because she was the only optometrist available in the Springfield mall without an appointment on a Saturday. She told me she opened up her own practice just a month ago so she is building up her clientele (she used to work at Visionworks in the mall). The eye exam was for my older aunt. Dr. Nguyen took her time with my aunt and explained her medical conditions carefully. My aunt does not speak english and Dr. Nguyen was patient and waited for us to translate everything she said. It was such a good experience that I decided to go ahead and get my yearly eye exam for contacts. She told me that I had scaring in my eye from eye infections and that I had to be very careful with scaring if I planned to get Lasik. No doctor has ever told me about any scaring (which clearly was there for some time considering there were so many) or explained the ramifications of keeping contacts in too long. My cousin was so impressed that she said that she would be making an appointment to get her eyes checked with Dr. Nguyen. I thanked Dr. Nguyen for being such a caring and patient eye doctor and told her to make sure to get her own Yelp page, so that we could spread the word about her excellent medical care.
