When I gave myself a gnarly corneal abrasion causing terrible discomfort, my wife (who is a patient…read morehere) told me I should give them a call to have it checked out. Thankfully they were able to fit me in that same day and I saw Dr. Vinh, who diagnosed my abrasion and immediately alleviated my discomfort with numbing drops and a contact lens bandage over my cornea, prescribing me antibiotic drops to take to prevent an eye infection. Long story short I leaned the very hard way that I am allergic to a specific type of antibiotic eye drop (which for the record Dr. Vinh said was quite rare) and my eye swelled up and became badly inflamed overnight, causing me to return the next day and see Dr. Perry, who took great care of me and gave me steroid drops to bring down the inflammation. A day later and my eye was as good as new, and I saw Dr. Vinh again who gave me a clean bill of health. Simply put, I could not have been in better hands than I was with NOVA Vision Center. The professionalism and care that I experienced from the receptionists to the techs to the doctors was second to none. These folks are good at what they do, they truly care about their patients, and it shows. I now look forward to making them my new eye care place in the future, hopefully next time under better circumstances! :)

So I researched other providers and came across Dr. Le. I don't like switching doctors, so I debated waiting for an appointment with my regular doctor. However Dr. Le had great reviews so I decided to contact her office. I am so glad I did! I spoke with Katie who was able to fit me into the schedule that day. Dr. Le was very thorough, she explained everything clearly, and left me feeling reassured.  During the appointment, we also discussed headaches I had been experiencing in the mornings. It was an unrelated issue, but Dr. Le diagnosed the problem and provided the remedy too. By the end of my appointment I knew I would be replacing my regular doctor with Dr. Le. But the excellent customer service didn't stop there. I had problems finding a pharmacy which could fill both medications she prescribed. One pharmacy didn't have either prescription, two other pharmacies only had one of the medications, but not the other. There was also a communications issue between the pharmacies even though it was a chain. Ultimately Dr. Le assisted, followed up, and made certain I found a pharmacy. The next week I came back for my follow-up appointment.  I was well on my way to recovery.  My experience really could've turned out differently if it wasn't for Dr. Le. I highly recommend her and the friendly staff!

The usual stores have very similar frames with very similar profiles for much wider faces. Occoquan Optical has a completely different feel than the stereotypical eyeglass shop. Rachel has created a calm, airy and bright environment with individually curated hand-selected frames. It's clear that Rachel has considered multiple types of customers- the range of styles, shapes and sizes is incredible! I went to the shop three times- to browse glasses, to pick a second style and purchase both, and then to pick up my glasses after the lenses were done. Each visit was as enjoyable as the first! Rachel is personable, attentive and warm. Conversation flowed easily and she loved on my baby during my first visit. She also put up with my indecisiveness! Not only did I pull off at least 30 frames from the walls, but she even started a poll on Facebook when I was unsure which pair fit my face best! By the end of the appointment, Rachel understood my style enough to select a second pair of glasses off the wall- which I ended up purchasing!
