Came by asking for a repair for my glasses, the staff (Liam) was very accommodating and helpful, we were close to closing time on a Monday evening but they still took me in even though I didn't have an appointment. In the end, he repaired my glasses, I wish I had a photo of when it was broken, but it looks brand spanking new, these are glasses from Korea, but he changed out the nose pieces and tightened the other screws in just a few minutes! The Friday intake is a nice looking male ( but very rude ) I asked him to give me an estimate by calling my insurance. He then started saying what kind of insurance? Is it Medicaid???? I presented the insurance card and he said "NEVER HEARD OF this insurance company " while the customer checking out right next to him says he uses the same insurance too. Then he said " I don't think you are ready to make an eye appointment. " and gave me back the insurance card. Wasted bunch of time at this My Eye Dr. I just want to warn everyone that may be more mature looking or minorities don't waste your time here. Came on here to read reviews to see if my experience was a one-off, and I'm not surprised to see recurring themes about the bad customer service experiences here. The irony is, they have awards posted everywhere on their doors and front desk about "America's Best Customer Service 2024" - it's a wonder that they have earned this accolade because I have yet to see evidence of this in other reviews or my own experience... I have been going to MyEyeDr for many years. In particular, I try to avoid this location due to the lack of parking but yet, I needed an appointment on this particular day and this location was the most convenient option at the time. Of course, things can happen and we end up running behind. As a busy parent, Saturdays can be rough. As I approach the desk walking in - no friendly smiles, no warm welcome, but only annoyed looks and "we'll see if the doctor can see you, have a seat". Ultimately, I was told they have a grace period of 10 min (I was 15 min late) and that the doctor would not see me. While I understand the reasons behind these rules (In my job, I see patients, as well, so I get it) - it's not the issue of rescheduling, but it's the manner in which we are treated by a company that prides themselves on being "America's Best Customer Service 2024" --- Yasmin, front desk person, not only was rude and trying to talk over me as I was asking to be rescheduled to a different clinic, but then seeing her colleagues giving judgemental side-eyes instead of empathy just gives this whole office a bad vibe. I would also expect the optometrist herself would come out and let me know that she was not able to see me (I do this for my own patients in the rare occasion that I will not see a late patient)- in this case, this would have been a nice customer service remedy, and would at least have felt more like a human interaction than being treated as another annoying late customer. At the end of the day, they had rescheduled me to a different office (never going back to this merrifield location) - and if they want to keep this "award" they should really know the importance of treating customers with respect, kindness, and empathy- rather than giving attitudes, side eyes, and talking over them. I get that is a busy place but she can't even get my order correct been waiting forever and she always says she will call me back so she can go look in the back to see if my contact came in... I had a terrible experience with MyEyeDr in the Mosaic district. They overbooked appointments for eye exams. My appointment was scheduled 1:15 PM and I waited to 1:30 PM and then realized there were 4 other people ahead of me waiting for their eye exam. I would probably have to wait at least another hour before seeing *the eye doctor. Also, the eye doctor seemed very stressed out and rushing... so I decided to cancel my appointment and leave. It was a waste of time for me. I am very disappointed and will NEVER go there again. read more

The manager here named Liam is so unprofessional, rude. I'm not sure how he's a manager, he's very uneducated and doesn't know how to provide good customer service. He doesn't know what he's doing. They always want to charge more money. I used my insurance card, and asked them about the eye examination fee. My son need contacts, but they refused to say the price for the exam. The nose pad on my glasses broke on New Year's Eve. I scheduled an appointment to have an eye exam and get a new pair of glasses ASAP. The associate at the desk took a look at my glasses, went to the back, and brought me my glasses with two new nose pads. The screw attachment was definitley broken, but he replaced both nose pads for me at no cost. Best New Year Bonus since a new pair of glasses was not in the budget! I will be returning in March to buy my next pair of eyeglasses. They have dozens of frames in store to see how they look/fit/feel. Never get glasses at My Eye Dr. It's not really the fault of the people working the stores, just the incompetence of the labs and idiocy of policies for what you pay. I have had my glasses for less than 1 year and my last eye exam there about a year and 3 weeks ago. The same day I ordered them. I should have posted this back then, because it took more than a month for me to actually get a usable pair. The first pair took over 2 weeks to arrive (way past promised date) and they didn't function because the store manager incorrectly measured me for my progressive lenses. They would not expedite the reorder, which took even longer to arrive than the useless pair did. All I heard the whole time was excuses about "the lab". When they did arrive they somehow didn't even have a case! Today was the last straw. Again not even a year old, the nose pieces fell off the frames within a week of each other. I wore them over the holidays with the bare metal on my nose because I was out of town. Then yesterday one of the lenses just fell out while I was walking down the street. I took them to the store in hopes of just getting my lenses put into an identical frame believing I had a bad frame for all this to happen. The person behind the counter told me that they didn't have the frame in the store and I waited 5 minutes until he finally found a store that did. I asked him where it was and he said, "far away". I asked him to have them sent to his location and he said something about needing to call them and sit on the phone while someone there would "try to find them, which would take a long time" I asked him if he could just put it he lens back in and replace the nose pieces He told me that unfortunately, my frames had the only ones he didn't have in stock right now. He suggested that I drive to another location and they "should" have them. While he was putting the lens back in (apparently a screw just fell out of its hole causing it to drop out) I went back and told him that there had to be a set of demo frames on the floor that had the nose pieces and I wanted him to find one and swap them out to my glasses. He did that, but why did I have to even suggest such a simple solution? He brings my glasses back repaired but the lenses were filthy so I asked if he could clean them. He did and I thought there was still an eye lash stuck to the reinserted lens. He said, "oh, that's a scratch" (no doubt from the lens falling 6 feet onto the concrete and bouncing a few times until I could grab it). Now here's the kicker that pushed me to taking the time to share my experience- I immediately told him that I paid for the scratch protection they offered and asked if he could just order a new lens and call me when its delivered... "No, your prescription is expired. The lab will not do it" Again with "the lab". I told him that the glasses work well, the prescription is just for reading, works fine for that and I have 20/20 vision and have for 25 years since my Lasik surgery. AND that while annual vision checks are often recommended, a vision prescription doesn't somehow just expire in 1 year and that there was no expiration date on the prescription I received there on my exam 1 YEAR AND 3 WEEKS AGO. I told him that I understood that he could not authorize a change to corporate policy, but asked him who in the management chain could and for their contact details. He said that nobody could. So here so am warning you all. Don't make the mistake of trusting your ability to see and read to My Eye Dr. and the all powerful "lab". read more

Acquired my new glasses from Nadra and Lexi. Both women were as charming as can be. Nadra is still camera shy, but she is very knowledgeable about the products and procedures as Lexi. I am walking around the Mosaic Center to get use to these glasses. Thd fact that my glasses are transition eyeglasses helps with how bright it is outside. Getting use to these glasses might take some time as I was told. So far they are helping with my typing for writing my review and I am sure they will help with my novels too. read more

I recently got a new pair of glasses from MyEyeDr. Merrifield VA office. I am very unsatisfied with the glasses this time. My glasses doesn't have the correction I was prescribed and I paid for. Also, I got my eyes checked on Oct 23 and no one bothered to call me about my glasses whereabouts until I called the Merrifield, VA office in late November. When I called the office they told that they have the lenses but not the frames. Then they sent me text only 6-7 days later about the glasss status. The fit of glasses is very poor and doesn't have the farsighted correction prescribed to me. I am very unsatisfied, I want a refund if possible. Very poor service. This is probably the last time I will use your service. I don't recommend this place. read more

I came back to a MyEyeDr. location after moving to VA because of my positive experience in a Maryland location. However, I had the worst experience picking out my over contact (computer) glasses. The associate and the manager unprofessional and they were unhelpful. I picked out the frame that I really liked and I was told the lenses had blue light filtering.. I received a voice message on Monday from the same associate telling me she forgot which frame I chose. I travel for work and was not going to be available to go back. I asked them to cancel the order and to refund the full amount so that I could just go to a my eye dr near my work location. They told me that the company does not allow refund for the lenses as they were "in process". It was still unclear to me what was in process as they couldn't even remember the frames I got...But they gave me a store credit instead. So I go back to the MyEyeDr. location that I had the positive experience just to learn that: 1. All MyEyeDr locations are very able to refund me the full amount. So both the manager and the associate lied to me. 2. The associate chose the non-blue filter lenses when I specifically asked for blue filter lenses...So if I got my $300+ computer glasses from this location, I would not have gotten blue filter lenses, which sort of defeats the whole purpose of these glasses... I'm not sure if the employees lack training or were not aware.. But I seriously think that this is a huge issue and I will never return here for anything. read more

My daughter had her exam on 7/23 and we still have not received her glasses as of today 8/30. I made multiple phone calls , every time they told me they had to replace the order , they have not arrived yet , we will call you , etc. No one from the office ever called me. This is unacceptable. Arrived about 15 minutes early for paper work and wasn't seen until 20 minutes after my appointment time. The front desk was helpful with the tests in the back and answered all of my questions (why the puff test!?). The doctor told me stuff no optometrist ever taught me, and I've been going to them for over a decade. The gentleman at the end, I'm guessing sales person cause he broke down the bill, was friendly and the most polite person I dealt with. I had asked for an email of my prescription and he said he would get that out to me and even reviewed my email address. I called about a week later, I hadn't received it and was told I had to sign a waiver because it's not an encrypted email and it has personal information on it. Totally understandable, and I appreciate them telling me. However the gentleman never offered the waiver or to give it in person and both options would've been appreciated at the moment. Leave something better than the way you found it. They do not believe in this and fail at the small things. So why should I trust them with the big things, my eyes? I went in for a consult and waited 40 minutes to get started, a major pet peeve. Then the person helping me wanted my glasses to evaluate my prescription, and he severely smudged them. Then he wanted me to put them on for an eye exam. No, I'm not taking an eye exam with extremely smudged lenses. I asked for a wipe for them to be clean and was told due to COVID that is not possible. That is stupid and lazy, and I have been to a couple of other offices where they had no problem cleaning them or handing me a wipe to clean them off without my asking. If your front operations are bad, it follows that your other operations will be too. It's my eyes, so I am very particular. read more

I'm patiently waiting for my vision to be stabilized so I can become a candidate for lasik eye surgery... but until then, I'll have to stick to glasses and contacts. I decided to check out MyEyeDr because it was 1) Walking distance from my place, and 2) They accepted my insurance. Making an appointment was easy over the phone and I also received a confirmation call and email. I filled out my paperwork online, but I had to fill it out again when I arrived for my appointment because they didn't have it in their system... ugh. I saw Dr. Jennifer Lee and she was friendly and informative throughout my exam. Picking out my lenses was fairly easy. The sales associate made recommendations and I didn't feel pressured to purchase specific brands. I ordered a full year's worth of contact lenses and price matched me with other online retailers, #winning! I received a text and a phone call when my glasses and lenses were ready for pickup. The whole process took a little more than a week since #Blizzard2016 decided to stop by, but it wasn't an issue at all. read more

I hate going to the eye doctor. But I had to. My glasses were broken and my prescription out of date. I'm also new to the area and have new insurance so I was afraid the whole ordeal would be an issue​. I walked in on a Sunday and made an appointment​ for a Tuesday. They were friendly and efficient​ and took down all my information so I didn't have to fill out any paperwork on the day of my appointment. When I arrived on Tuesday, they were quick to check me in and get me seen. The Doctor was incredibly kind and put me at ease. They never tried to sell me on more than what I needed and I was in and out with a copy of my prescription, in 20 minutes! When I first made the appointment​, my intent was to just use it as an emergency fix and then go somewhere else as my long term​ solution, but after my visit here, I will definitely be using Dr. Daniel Song at MyEyeDr in Mosaic. read more

For an assortment of reasons I had decided it was time for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. So I bought a Groupon for MyEyeDr. I initially tried to make the appointment using the MyEyeDr webpage. To me the problem with this site is it only lets you pick one location. After my first 'sorry, no appointments that day' email I called a general scheduler (who also could only check one location at a time). It worked out but going forward I think I will call directly, especially now that I have visited the Mosaic MyEyeDr. The team at the Mosaic MyEyeDr was great. My appointment began easily. My tests and exam were positive experiences. While I looked at frames a member of the team did some adjusting to the glasses I had warn to my visit. I had resolved to stick to less expensive frames. (Did anyone else watch the 60 Minutes piece on glasses frames almost all being produced by the same maker?) While I was shown several of the higher priced frames my decision was respected -- no one tried to shame me. I did go with the lense upgrades, I wear these most of the time and keeping the lenses protected and the glare minimal matters to me but I knew I was going to do that before I got started. They asked if they could text me when my glasses were ready and I said 'yes, please'. The initial estimated ready date was a week out but they were ready in less than three days. When I went to pick them up I wore a different pair hoping I could have them adjusted as well. I was first fitted with my new glasses and then made my request to which the response was 'of course, no problem'. After managing to get the appointment which is more of a MyEyeDr brand issue, it was an overall very positive experience. We have been lost without him and will be buying three pairs of glasses immediately because he's at MyEyeDr. Prices were reasonable, selection is good including a large amount of frameless glasses which I like. My experience with MyEyeDr. has been amazing. It started off with scheduling a new patient appointment online at least 2-3 weeks out. I was relieved to see their office hours (varies per day). When I received my email reminder I noticed there was an option to start a patient profile and I did. The day of my appointment I received a text message "..we look forward to seeing you for your eye exam..". For someone who's forgetful like myself - I really appreciate reminders. I walked in 15 minutes earlier to fill out new patient forms. I was immediately greeted with smiles and hi from the staff. I wasn't the only person in the office but they were able to multitask. I guess creating the patient profile online saved time because some of my information was already on the forms. Shortly after I turned in my forms I was called to the back to start my appointment. I first had my eyes tested on several machines before seeing the Optometrist. Before each test I was informed what it was, what will happen and did not feel uncomfortable at all. These procedures took about 10-15 minutes. I waited less than 5 minutes when I was greeted by Dr. Danah Harbi. She was kind and patient while examining my eyes. When I told her I made a bad habit wearing my 2 weeks contact prescription for a month. She did not judge or negatively lecture me instead provided options that would help me and my eyes. She was thorough and friendly the entire time. When it's time to check out you'll be greeted by another associate. I had the pleasure of meeting Lexi. She has a warm personality. I was torn between two frames. She immediately had a frame in mind for me and was spot on. Like Dr. Danah Harbi, Lexi explained everything in detail making sure I was comfortable with my end results. I would not recommend going to the MyEyeDoctor in Mosaic. Originally the review of my office visit was ok. The woman who checked my eyes initially gave me a run down of the exam fee, but neglected to mention that there was an additional $75 fee to "fit" contacts which is totally unnecessary. The doctor was fine but I felt like the appointment was more of a transaction versus an actual doctors appointment. Then to top it off the saleswoman who assisted with selecting my glasses came across like my presence was an inconvenience and was not transparent with me about what she was putting on my order (assumed I was buying my contacts through them versus asking me). She was also very hurried when it came to the pricing as to distract from actually explaining line by line was went into the $450 plus dollars that were spent on a pair of glasses and updating my lenses. The frame selection wasn't very good either which did lead to taking more time to try on glasses that would work. But the big issue is when I went to pick up my glasses. They brought me to the back for me to try on my glasses; did not ask about how they fit etc. I asked for a copy of my contact lenses prescription and they said they could not give it to me - I would need to come in and get rechecked. Then they stated that I need to sign a waiver even though they already emailed me copies on the prescriptions (the contact one did not match the lenses I want to order). What a racket. Angie interrupted my conversation with Peggy and then went on and on to say she was busy and tied up with another customer - then don't come back to "assist". I still have one pair of glasses to pick up and they need to release my contact prescription- it is my medical information and not theirs to hold hostage. But after today's experience my family will not be back. Very unprofessional environment. read more

Went in on Sunday--We were the only ones in the store. Two employees were there, but they just glanced at us and said "Leave anything you try on on the counter because we have to disinfect them." We looked on our own for about 15 minutes and they never acknowledged us..instead staying on the computer (the lady) or the cell phone (the guy). Finally found a pair as someone else came in the door and said "I'd need a pair of glasses" to the response "Oh, we don't have a doctor on duty" and then turned away. The new guy looked confused as he had not asked about seeing a doctor. That was enough for us. I marked down the frame make and size and went home to order them from an internet site. They costs less than half what I paid MyEyeDr the last time I bought glasses from them. My new motto is "Go in to try, go home to buy." If your staff is not going to take care of customers, why are they even there? read more

The good: Optometrist did his job. Eyeglass salesperson was sweet. They always offered extra solution with my contacts, which is nice. The Bad: Everything else... After my initial appointment come to find, my insurance was billed incorrectly. It took about a week or so for the issue to be resolved. They transferred me to multiple people within the company who would then transfer me back to a different person. Huge headache for something that should've been a quick fix, all for what? Possibly because they didn't want to lose money - but the whole point was that the correct insurance just needed to be charged, meaning they wouldn't lose the sale, yet they were refusing to resolve, saying it was the wrong insurance's job to fix. In the end, the company's billing department fixed it... which should've been done when the issue first came about. Next, I tried ordering glasses from an online site Warby Parker(WP) who needed the optometrist to send my info. Was told I had to sign a waiver prior to release the info via email to WP. I signed the waiver minutes after My Eye Dr. sent it. 3 weeks later, I was concerned why there's no tracking info on my glasses still then learned this place never sent my info, even after I signed the waiver. WP confirmed saying they've called and emailed for my info, with no response from them. Customer service is lacking, especially on the phone. Been in store multiple times and they seem not really attentive to what's going on. read more

One of us was 5 min late to the appointment (literally pulling into the parking garage) and the receptionist tells us that they can only see one of us. Nobody mentioned there was a strict 10 min rule for appointments late in the day until we called as we were walking into the door. When we mentioned this at the store, the receptionist (who has green dyed hair), had piss poor attitude and told us that we could leave and go to a different store. This is the worst optometry office I have been to and I have been wearing contacts and glasses for nearly 15 years. They ordered the incorrect frames for me, which with lenses and insurance cost over 500 dollars. I had to return to the office 3 times before picking up the correct glasses. Each time I was called by the store informing me that the glasses were ready, however when I would show up, no one could find the glasses. Additionally, the year supply of contacts I ordered which were scheduled to come within a week did not arrive for several weeks without any answers as to why when I called and asked. I wouldn't mind the delay if the staff was apologetic or even acknowledged any fault on their part. Instead, every time I went to the store to pick up my glasses, they were dismissive and unhelpful with the exception of two people. read more

Do not go here. I still have none of the products I paid for a month ago, despite my repeated calls: they put the wrong lenses in my glasses and said they would have the new ones for me 3 weeks ago. Turns out they never placed the order. No one has returned my calls. Getting a copy of your Rx is like pulling teeth. I paid for a contact lense fitting and never received my trials (I have asked for them 3 times). My boyfriend and I went together and he was planning on getting his glasses there too but not anymore. So far not impressed with the quality of glasses and apparent lack of quality control. The Dr. and staff are all very pleasant, that being said , I'm on my third try to get the glasses right. First pair have a sharp piece of plastic or string as they call it and a failure of the coating on the frame. New pair ordered, i went to pick up today and obviously no one checked them. They were the wrong prescription, could not read with them, they had the same sharp piece of plastic AND a scratch on the lens I could see without glasses. I hopeful the new pair ordered this time will be checked before I go to pick them up, interestingly I was told this is being done at no charge ....as if.... I will update reciewwhen I get next pair. Update 3/19/19 Got my glasses today, third time is a charm. They are exactly as they should be. I understand my insurance requires a specific lab and that is out of the local office control. I was browsing for a pair of frames when suddenly, someone who seemed to be a manager, came in and started raising his voice and calling the young woman who was helping me names.
