Hello there, you sexy little waffle on a stick. What? You say like me as much as I like you? How is that possible? I LOOOOVVVEEEE YOU, you sweet lil cake! I sauntered up and was greeted by some of the nicest, friendliest people to ever inhabit a cute little food truck/shack, and we chatted it up good while they made me my food. I ordered the chicken and waffle and the beer and bacon, because COME ON, who wouldn't? And I could barely wait to get those lil' cakes back to my office and try them. The maple syrup butter, albeit a bit messy on the road (or I'd have dug in right then) was perfect, and I ended up being happy as can be to have that for my dip for both items. The chicken was sooooo damn good, the quality tender roasted chicken just sang out from inside that little sexy waffle wrap and it was gone quicker than you can say whatevr you can say pretty quickly. The beer bacon was also delish, and I know that although I wanted to try some of the sweet options, I did indeed make the right choice. Ever since eating there, I've dreamed of how easy it'd be to just go back and pick up a few (or a dozen) more to eat... so, I'll see you there, right?

Cherry filled with Devils food batter

Checked this place out at the Columbia City farmers market and my taste buds were blown away. I was attracted by the 50's aesthetic and infographic type menu. We first got the Seattle Chicken and waffles hotcakes stick and DAMN was it tasty. The hotcake stick was topped with maple syrup and fresh strawberries. Despite the cake looking small, the waffle was quite dense and would've have definitely been filling if it hadn't been shared. We came back for dessert and to our dismay the blueberry and lemon cake was all sold out. Lesson learned, these hotcakes were selling like hotcakes. We tried the cherry filled cake instead and it was delightful. The hazelnutty goodness paired with the cherry made for a sweet but not too rich treat. We will definitely be back to try all the flavors they have to offer.

Beer and Bacon waffle

I've only tried the Beer and Maple Bacon Waffle, but I'm absolutely a fan. I've giving them five stars because the food is great, the service is lovely and there is nothing else out there like it. The owners are friendly, really proud of their business, and rightfully so. The waffles are crunchy and beautifully golden. I drizzled my waffle with maple syrup and took a big bite. I was really surprised with how bacon filled it was...and I loooove bacon, so I was happy! I'm looking forward to trying My Sweet Lil Cakes again and hope they become popular enough to move their cart all over town! Get to Cap Hill and try My Sweet Lil Cakes NOW!

Boss Lady and Honey Do!

Boss Lady and Honey-Do are absolutely sparkling! This food truck is adorable and can be hired for special events, which would be a perfect surprise for anything from a baseball game to a wedding! Now let's talk about the real thing. The food. These pancake waffles on a stick were a big surprise. I ordered the Red Velvet Buttermilk w/ Dark Cherries & Sweet Cream Cheese, and Green Apple & Caramel w/ Pecans (Vegan & Gluten Free). Each offered a pop of flavor and the cakes were not sticky sweet like you might expect. My favorite was the Green Apple & Carmel w/ Pecans. The dipping sauce was a lemon yumminess that paired with the fruity, nutty, carmel flavors. The sauce was meant for the blueberry lemon ricotta cake that they snuck in for tasting. But I didn't realize so I may have invented something here. The blueberry lemon ricotta was just as you would expect, inviting fresh blueberries and creamy ricotta. Because of the generosity of the portions we couldn't eat everything hot off the grill. So I heated up the leftovers the next day and they held well!

The chicken/waffle thing is by far the best effort on that front in Seattle. I'm tired of getting a piece of chicken thrown on a waffle. I only regret that I didn't try the whole menu. Their truck and presentation took the "best design" prize (in my opinion) at the International District street fair, with a well thought out "look," and over-all design. A perfect presentation for the product served.

Deliciousness on a stick!! Chicken and waffles!

Loved the chicken and waffles!! It was so good went back and got two more! The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Loved the maple butter! Also tried the red velvet with cherries! Super yummy and sweet! The staff was so nice and let us sample both before we ordered. Love their style! Like others have said kinda pricey for the size but the flavor is so worth it! I will be on the look out for them!!

My Sweet Lil Cakes is the best food truck in the streets! Chef Nami and his family run truck serve some of the most innovative recipes on a stick- whether it's Cherry Filled Chocolate Devils Food Cake or Cornbread Cheddar Jalepeno filled with creamy cheddar cheese oozing out. The friendly service and willingness to fill your belly with deliciousness from the creative minds in the traveling kitchen really supply a nostalgic and tasty experience!

Our DISCOVERY of My Sweet Lil Cakes!

I ordered the Beer & Hickory Smoke Bacon with Cheddar Cheese & Jalapeño and it was so tasty! All the ingredients are good quality. It is easy to eat on a stick. I can't wait to try the Chicken & Waffle with Maple Butter! I love the 40's truck design & the uniforms! Both owners have great customer service. They are always so polite, happy & sweet! It's rare to find a place with great food & great service!

Had the chicken and waffle breakfast cake at a Rover event. It was amazing- tasty, crisp, and the chicken was perfect! Bonus is the toppings and super bonus- the folks working are so sweet and took wonderful care to the event and the details for delicious food! Major noms!

Jesse & staff with their red velvet creation!!!
R M.

As my first time visiting them and making a previous connection with Jesse, I decided to try them out. Supporting local community & business is very important and reaching out to business owners I network with to show my support is how this industry thrives & survives!! I tried the red velvet and it was so amazing with hidden ruby gems of cherries inside. I can't wait to try their other cakes out. It's also a plus they are in Terry Avenue Saturday Market in South Lake Union. More opportunities to try all of their creations!!

Here's what the look like! :)
Moonie T.

This truck is at the lake Union side of the Seattle boat show today and the man and his two employees that are here today are INCREDIBLY nice!!! I got to try their chicken and waffle lil cake and their beer and hickory smoked bacon with cheddar cheese and jalapeños lil cake and for dessert Red velvet buttermilk with dark cherries and sweet cream cheese! They all taste sooooo amazing!!! Everything about them is super awesome! It even has a 50's vibe to it!! These guys love what they do and you can tell! It's a really cute truck too!! You won't be disappointed!!! Keep being awesome guys! And I'm sorry this is late but I forgot to hit send... Hehe

Chicken and waffle on the left, chocolate on the right.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this. I mean, food on a stick is the best! And the idea of a custom made iron that lets them put the goodies INSIDE the waffle? So cool! Alas, I left pretty disappointed. Seattle Chicken and Waffle: 2 stars. The presentation was absolutely beautiful with fresh berries and edible flower petals, but the batter was not cooked all the way through and the chicken was pretty flavorless. The maple butter was pretty much the only thing adding any flavor, but it melted off into the bottom of the boat and I couldn't get it back onto the waffle because of the stick. Cherry Filled Chocolate with Nutella: 3 stars. Like molten chocolate cake on a stick. Ooey-gooey goodness. Yummy, but not something I would pay $10 for. Customer Service: 4 stars. Super friendly and passionate about what they're doing.

Jesse adding the finishing touches

I feel like I chased this food truck around forever but finally connected at the SLU Saturday market. They have a great infographic style menu that's cute and really shows you what you're getting. Jesse and co really pull off the whole 50's thing and are great, friendly people. I've had just about everything on the menu, I think. It's all good! I love the chicken, the cornbread, the red velvet, etc, etc, etc. The last one I had was the beer batter with hickory smoked bacon and I think that's my new favorite.

Soft and ripe and delicious. The cheesecake bites were not as flavorful as I would have liked, along with the vanilla ice cream, but I have a crazy sweet tooth so I recommend this one for those who like milder desserts that are not too sweet. The mixed berry bingsu was my fave! The berries were fresh but the best part was the ice cream! Super flavorful and I loved the fruit syrup too. For both, the bingsu itself is very light in flavor and texture. It melts in your mouth and pairs well with the toppings, especially that sweetened condensed milk. I hope to come back to try other items soon!!

We were there at opening, and ordere the grilled cheese which comes with tomato soup, crème brûlée and I had th hot chocolate. The sandwich was good, although I would have liked a slice more cheese. The soup was really amazing. I don't often like tomato soup but this was the exception. Chunks of tomato and a full flavor without a lot of spices. The crème brûlée was warmed and freshly caramelized on top. This is not made in advance and just refrigerated which seems to be more common these days. The hot chocolate hit the spot! Options for no -dairy alternatives were offered which I almost forgot to ask. Liked the atmosphere, spacious and high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and nice. They had a rush when they opened and didn't seem unusual for them. The candied orange was a nice touch.
