Great place when we are craving curry and roti! We usually order ahead through Uber eats. We like getting the classic chicken curry and the butter chicken. The samosas are quite big too. Two rotis are enough to feed the two of us for lunch and dinner! read more

You know me, always talking about how there aren't many great restaurants in Midtown. So, I was thrilled to hear about My Roti Place being a new addition to the 'hood. My boyfriend and I shared a turmeric roti with paneer and superior butter masala sauce ($11.95). Their roti menu is completely customizable, so you can choose your roti type, sauce, filling, and spice level. They did not scrimp on the paneer -- the roti was nicely filled. The roti itself was well made. It was delicious! We ordered medium spice and maybe because of how creamy the sauce is, I didn't notice the spice. We were on the fence about an appetizer and the gentleman behind the counter recommended the honey garlic cauliflower ($6.95). Guys. This cauliflower was BOMB! It's basically like boneless chicken wings only it's cauliflower instead of chicken! So crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I could have eaten a whole order of those to myself for sure. For around $20, this was a completely reasonably priced and tasty meal for two. They threw in some puffed rice crisps and a gulab jamun as an addition to the meal. The service was lovely, food came out quickly. They've got a decent sized seating area in the back. Vegan options available. We will definitely be back! read more

Overrated. It's neither good nor bad. In terms of the price, it's actually quite expensive for a paneer roti. For $13.50 after taxes I was expecting a little more food/fillings. The butter masala sauce was closer to the watery side but not bad. Flavour was above average but nothing special. The spice level for medium is probably closer to having no spiciness to it. Overall an OK option if you want Indian food but I probably won't come back with so many food/lunch options in the area. My rating is mostly because of the price to value ratio. If it was less than $10 or I got more food it would get a 4 star review. read more

Welcome to the neighbourhood!! As someone who's sampled many a butter chicken roti in Toronto, I can tell you with confidence that the roti here is truly fantastic. Every element, from the roti wrap to the sauce to the chicken morsels, were top quality. We ordered two chicken roti, one with 'mom's classic curry' and the other with 'superior butter masala', both medium spice. (Note: There are 4 spice levels: mild, medium, serious and stupid...lol). For us, medium was perfect cuz it had great heat without being overkill. Personally, I absolutely loved the superior butter masala because, as mentioned, l love butter chicken so I loved the creamy tomato-y flavour. My husband had mom's classic, which he preferred over mine cuz he's not a creamy type of guy. To each their own! However, both were supremely delicious...and filling. Bonus: they sell imported pops from India...I tried the Limca (lemon/lime) and next time will get the Thums Up (cola). Then again, they also have mango lassi, which is always a great foil to spicy Indian food. Overall, well done y'all! read more

I'd been wanting to check out My Roti Place's original location downtown but somehow never got around to it, so when I discovered that they'd opened a new spot just around the corner from me, I couldn't wait to try it. I used a food-ordering app to get a Classic Roti with Lamb and Mom's Classic Curry, and I requested a spice level of Stupid. It was waiting for me when I arrived a few minutes later, and the woman serving mentioned that if I like spice, I should try their KK's Agni Challenge, which is apparently 10 times hotter than Stupid. (Maybe next time!) Anyway, I took my tasty-smelling concoction home and immediately dug in. This is one phenomenal dish. The fresh roti is a perfect vehicle for what now ranks as one of the best and most flavorful curries I've *ever* had. The curry was just so tasty and I kept discovering new layers of flavor, and the spice level was almost right on point. (Honestly, for something called Stupid spicy, I wouldn't have minded just a little more heat.) The plentiful chunks of lamb were tender and delicious, as well. This place is a true winner and a very welcome addition to the neighborhood, and I can't wait to sample more of their offerings. read more

Wee Roti place tucked on a side street near Davisville. I had a Paneer Korhma Roti (No idea if this is traditional) but I'm a sucker for both of those things. Walked all the way back to St Clair and devoured it. It was a huge Roti and very very flavorful. I will make the trip back in the summer when the weather is nicer! read more

This was the first time we've ordered from here. Of course it was a take out order right now. The service was timely (order ready in the time they told us) and they are following all covid procedures. Now for the food. It is off the hook! I ordered the butter chicken roti and my boyfriend ordered the chicken curry roti. It was delicious and filling! The flavours were bursting and the roti was so soft. We also ordered biriyani and honey garlic cauliflower. Both were also very flavourful! Very friendly staff here as well! We will definitely come back again! read more

No no.. a big NO! We have tried many places for Dosa/Idli in GTA but this was the worst place to have it! Our friends took us over there and seriously we didn't liked a bit. The dosa, idli, sambar everything is not worth a trip. Coffee was made of water not with milk. read more

This review is only for the rock star shrimp only. This being my first visit to this place, I probably should have ordered roti, but yea..... The rock star shrimp is basically sautéd shrimp and veggies (mainly cabbages and bell peppers). When I took the first bite, my initial thought is "the sauce tastes like bottled sweet n' sour sauce from a grocery store, just spicier".. It doesn't taste bad, don't get me wrong. BUT I was hoping for much more authentic indian spice, not some hybrid chinese-indian sauce that is clearly not made from the scratch. (I cook a lot so i am very familiar with all sorts of sauces from grocery stores.) Now, I did finish my food and I am not saying it tastes awful, but chances are I will never order this item again. I wonder if the other curry sauces also taste like bottled ones... I do plan to return to this place to try their rotis! read more

We ordered 2 classic chicken rotis. One with the butter masala and Hakka chili sauce. Both were great but the butter masala sauce was significantly better. They also added a couple bags of some crunchy wagon wheel looking snacks. They taste a lot better than they look and the texture was a nice addition to the mushy roti. The little dessert balls they tossed in there were really good as well. They're cardamom flavoured and leave a fantastic taste in your mouth. I'd order a few of those dessert balls in the future. We'll be back again as the service was friendly. The food didn't take long to prepare and it also wasn't prepared so fast that it was obviously premade or microwaved. I ordered couple of biryanis for takeout today. Of course I did not bother checking the quantity of food in the takeout boxes. When I got home, I was in for a huge disappointment- the takeout containers were only half full. It seemed like they had suddenly decided to cut down on the food quantity. By undercutting the quantity of food, they are effectively taking unsuspecting customers for a ride. Hope the management is sensible enough not to resort to such tactics - they might save some money in the short term but in the long term they will just lose customers like they did today.
