We came here knowing it wasn't the best Indian food in Toronto but it was so convenient that we had to try it. I don't think the food was bad by any means but it was definitely underwhelming.. we got the pav bhaji, butter chicken roti, and vegetable korma rice bowl. I'm not unhappy with our choices.. but it was all sort of meh. The food did come out pretty quickly though and the service was nice!

This is My Roti Place's garbage. This is how little they respect their neighbors. This is how little they care for cleanliness.

They used to be really good. They used to actually care. It seemed like anyway. The food was always a little inconsistent but now it's just mediocre all the time. I don't go any more. If you want to see how much they've slipped look at their dumpster. It hasn't been emptied for nearly a month. Do you really want people that do this cooking your food?

Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Filling I rarely have roti so definitely would not know how the roti here compares to roti at other restaurants. What I did have though was fairly delicious and would be something I would want to try again. I came here to do take out on a weekday afternoon and it was extremely busy. The gentleman behind the counter was so busy filling orders that I ended up waiting for nearly 10 minutes before I was even able to put an order in. It was not a big deal as I know he was busy but it was not ideal to have to wait that long to order. I ended up ordering the kale roti with lamb and Mama's curry. The roti was packed with lamb and sauce when I cut into it. The taste was very flavourful and I really enjoyed it. One thing to note however was that as I ate I found the sauce to be a bit on the salty side and I really had to get more roti to balance out the saltiness. My roti was also medium spiciness which I felt was just right. There was a nice burn in your mouth but not enough to detract from you tasting the food. In terms of service, I saw the gentleman apologizing for long waits and giving customers free drinks to compensate for a missed order so I thought it was good. The space itself is not very big and it felt a bit tight when it got busy and a lot of people were standing around waiting for their orders. Overall it was a pretty good first experience at this place and though I thought at $16 it was a bit pricey for roti I would probably still come back.

Dodgy but delicious! Very small restaurant, but really enjoyed this unique take on Indian food

I was craving a roti today. I went for a long walk and came across My Roti Place on Queen Street W (at Cameron Street) so stopped in to check it out. Apparently they have been open about ten days. I love love love rotis. Here you "build your own", choosing the roti, filler and sauce. I got a chicken roti with Superior Butter Masala (the server recommended this sauce). The chicken is white meat and it's was just meat. If you want chicken and potatoes (which I thought was standard in a roti), you have to ask ... I went with just chicken. I like butter chicken but have never it in a roti and it was a good combination. I ordered mild sauce and there was a bit of a kick to it (I'm glad I didn't get medium). There was a lot of sauce, though. I guess I like a dryer roti with more chicken. Rotis comes with a chick pea salad and dessert.

Place an order for take-out. Good: + tasty food Bad: - on the expensive side - not great for groups Food: (4 stars) I choose make your own roti, with Chicken with spinach sauce. It came with a complimentary salad, and desert. The salad was extremely small, (2 stars). The desert was small - but very strong flavour, having it bigger would have been overwhelming. (4 stars) The roti was very tasty, the amount of meat could have been more, it was likely around 8 pieces of chicken. (4 stars) The total was $14.63 which I thought to be a bit hight for the amount of food we are getting. (Especially for take-out). Service: When I came, the food the was ready. The servers were friendly. Atmosphere: a very small place, not good for groups.

Neh, not the best Roti in Toronto We went to this place because at CNE this year, in the food court, some restaurants were selling roti. We found it a bit pricy so we decide to try it outside the CNE. I found this place through the app Ritual because it is offering $5 off if you order through the app. I order the lamb roti and picked it up in the store. On the container, there is a sticker saying "Best Roti in Toronto". I think this place is new because I never saw it there. It shared the same room with My Dosa Place. The place orders at the counter. style There is a spacious dine-in area. I have tried at a different roti place before, and this is not the best roti I have had. I have had a better taste at another roti place. It was too salty, I felt like there is not enough bread to balance the strong taste of curry. We finished the bread but had a lot of curry leftover. After $5 off, it is still expensive. I think it costs around $12 after tax after $5 off, so the original price is around $17 after tax for a roti. That is more expensive than CNE. Personally, I don't think this place is "Best Roti in Toronto" like it claims to be.

Horrible. $16 after taxes for this . Its expensive and lack of quality . I ordered for pick up the chicken biryani . The rice was cold and dry . Chicken was cold and dry. The roti that came with it was hard as rock . Was not edible. Heck if you were to feed the roti to a dog he wouldn't eat it . The sauce was watery and tasteless

Nice little Indian fast food joint just opened up on Queen St. We checked it out and went twice already We ordered the turmeric roti with lamb once and fish the other time.... Both were very tasty!! The biryani was good, but the rice was a little mushier than the ones we've tried elsewhere. Also had a mango lassi, I think it was super refreshing, just a little too sweet for me, but prolly the right level of tastiness for others. All in all, quite excited for this little gem in our hood! It's so new (I think they open this very week) that not all items on the menu are ready yet. They're still working out some kinks like make it available on Ritual and all.... Hope they do well and survive!!

Seriously spicy lamb in turmeric roti

Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
