My Roti Place on King St W makes great roti and desserts. They had a reopening on 2022-04-14 because that location has a new franchise owner. With the Butter Chicken Roti ($13.99), the chicken was very tender and juicy and the butter sauce was tasty. I also got to try the Paneer Butter Roti ($13.99) which was also good. For dessert, they have the traditional Gulab Jamun ($3.99) and Mango Pistachio Cheesecake ($5.99). Very refreshing. The cheesecake was smooth and creamy The staff are courteous and very helpful. There are several tables for indoor dining. There is patio space for outdoor dining during warm weather. The restaurant also has My Dosa Place, also owner by the same owner. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There is paid street parking. Wow! Great service and tons of chicken breast in my curry roti! Probably triple the amount of chicken compared to other roti place where it's all roti, filler and little amount of chicken. FOOD: Today I ordered the Goat Bone-In Dum Biriyani. DO NOT RECOMMEND. If you like seriously overly salty rice with overcooked, also very salty goat, and then frozen raita (with an actual icy center!) and frozen whatever the orange curry thing was, go ahead and order this. Clearly all the seasoning is dumped in altogether so you can't distinguish any of them except lots of salt. Even the goat tasted like nothing but super salty. Plus it was overcooked, not tender. What a disappointment. I'm not expecting 5 stars, but clearly whoever made this batch either isn't much of a cook, or they just doesn't care. I've had other dishes from here in the past like the idly in the sauce, their dosas, and cauliflower appetizer. Sometimes good, other times mediocre at best. This is the first one that is a total flop. I won't be ordering this again. SERVICE: Always friendly service so that's a plus! CLEANLINESS: A while back I finally suggested to the manager to have someone clean their door entrance as it had a thick layer of dust, dirt, and clearly had not been cleaned in probably years. Their door could win a prize for the heaviest door to open, so some of us need to use our torso/ sleeve/ hand right on that dirt. I ordered their side of paneer. It was so good and I was shocked at how much there was. I actually only ate half of it and then I reheated it in my air fryer later on and it was just as yummy. We also had a potato onion dosa. Oh my gosh that thing was so flavorful. It comes with some chutneys, one of which is coconut. All the sauces that they have are made on site and are absolutely ridiculously yummy. In this case I ordered it for delivery. However, I have gone in in the past and they are always so friendly and kind. They keep their restaurant very clean. The order itself was extremely well wrapped. And it was so piping hot even having been delivered. This is such an excellent spot to order from to pick up. I believe they do have a couple of seats in the store if you're eating in. Yum! Stuffed roti is just one of those hearty meals you want on a night in. I got this to-go on a rainy evening and it did just the trick. I had the butter paneer roti which was delicious. It's enough to share or to eat for 2 meals, but it was so good that I couldn't resist eating it all myself in one sitting. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they don't have all the flavors I've seen at other roti places (malai kofta, other curries, etc), and their potato roti wasn't the best (it was basically dry dosa filling inside a roti). Overall though would recommend this place and I think they have several locations. It's more of a takeout place than eat in though. read more

This was my go to roti spot but the order I just received is half the normal portion size. I ordered a butter chicken roti and received a roti that is only half full. The other half of the roti is folded onto itself. This is unacceptable and I will be trying a new place next time. I can't believe I just spent 15.99 on a half portion. read more

Really impressed with the food (authentic and flavorful with a great selection) and the staff (friendly and quick). Ordered the lamb Biryani and butter chicken roti. Both were delicious, full flavored and had great portions. You can customize your roti and medium spicy was good for my husband who has a slightly above spice tolerance. For those who like spicy you'll definitely want to get at least a "serious" level of spicy or even "stupid" if you're a spicy connoisseur. Plus each meal came with a little fried snack (think shrimp chips) and Gulab jamun (dessert) which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely coming back for my roti fix! read more

With so many businesses being affected and shut down due to the stay at home order I'm glad that small neighborhood places like this are still serving the local community through takeout and delivery orders. I walked in to order some takeout and I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of dishes and combinations available. The cashier suggested I try their daily special since it was just freshly made a few minutes before I arrived. The daily special was their butter chicken roti. Now I try to stay away from butter chicken at most Indian restaurants but I've read good things from other Yelpers here so I went for it. I'm glad I did because it was the best butter chicken roti I've had in a long time. Many places drown the meat with an abundance of curry but this place had the perfect ratio of meat and sauce. However the reason I will be going back to this place again is their spice levels. They do not mess around. I love spicy food and I am often disappointed that many restaurants oversell the level of spice. My Roti Place does not mess around with their spice. It will leave you hurting, burning and crying for all the right reasons and it's delicious! read more

Heard about this place selling dosas as a new addition to their menu and went for lunch with a couple of friends. I ordered the podi masala dosa. It came with sambar a red chutney and a coconut chutney. The coconut chutney was very bad but the red chutney made up for it which was amazing. The sambhar was hot and yummy. Coming to the dosa the dosa was awesome. The masala had a good punch with the podi in between. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Being a Thursday this place was still pretty packed. We had to wait to find a table. Will definitely come back to try more of their dosas. read more

The filled-roti dish is a little new to me, but as a quick and easy dinner, you WILL NOT find anything more flavour-filled at this price range. The simple 3-step process of creating your dish means limitless combination possibilities, but from what I've seen, you can't go wrong. The spice levels cover everything from bland to unbelievable pain. Everything is piping hot (even after 15 minutes of getting the take-out home), and the portion sizes are fantastic: you won't be hungry after. Amazing roti and I love that they have vegan options!!! (even though I am not vegan). I ordered their Fried Cauliflower appetizer and Tofu Roti with the Superior Butter Masala. Both items we're incredibly good and well seasoned. I usually like a nice spice to my food and medium was perfect for me. The portions are quite generous so I had to take half of it home. Also, very fancy plating for a take out spot, but not a bad thing. :) All in all I am excited to go again. They gave us Gulab Jamun on the side which was quite good too. Man, I love indian food! Despite having 'roti' in the name, there is absolutely no way that the decent ratings this place has are because of their rotis. I haven't tried anything else from here (and likely won't). This is a great build your own Roti place that was a great find. The honey garlic cauliflower was crunchy with a great flavor and we had a chicken biryani, a saag paneer roti and a butter chicken roti. Portion sizes are large for the price and food quality was great. Service was quick and courteous and the mango lassi was a nice smooth mango and yogurt blend without being too sweet. I have disagree with the other yelp review. I had a completely different experience. I had the Superior Butter Masala Roti with tofu, which had a tomato sauce base. But I tasted Campbell's tomato soup to a tee, actually that's all I could taste. I love this place. Their sauces are awesome and I love that they have so many vegetarian options - I'm not always veg but I love having so much selection. The eggplant and saag paneer are both excellent. They also cook their shrimp perfectly! The staff and service is also really wonderful. It's been a while since I've had Indian food near liberty (I went to Maurya once and had the worst experience with service and food). SO YUMMY! My friend and I got two rotis for takeout: butter chicken and spinach paneer, both medium spicy. There were good sized chunks of chicken mixed into the delicious sauce with just the right spice. The spinach sauce was so creamy, smooth and savoury.
