He spent the time to explanation of all the dishes, refilled our water often and his humble demeanor was refreshing. We had the Mad Water Balls, Chrispy Cauliflower, Plant Based Ckicken Masala and Butter Masala. All were delicious and I would recommend. We were offered a taste of the Carrot Mousse and it wasn't until after I reread the menu that I saw it could be added as a desert to our meal for a small charge. There was no way I could eat a large desert, we had eaten everything!!! I highly recommend. Next time I am in Toronto visiting i will return!

There is a patio that looks more like a ice cream parlour's (the location has apparently been every other type of restaurant imaginable previously) and there is one of those Korean 'sushi' places across them where people go to eat 'bento' with spicy bazooka bomb salmon rolls or whatever. Ambiyan was a pleasant surprise and my friend was right. The setting was nice, the waitress and two waiters were polite, patient and nice and the food felt authentic. Not only the samosa, steamed rice and lamb briyani were tasty, rich and had perfect texture, the restaurant did not skimp on quantity, meat or presentation. Everything, including the chutney, tasted just right.
