Load up a bunch, head to the till and it doesn't ring up on sale. Cashier calls a floor manager to check the shelf, who then checks with the store manager and apparently this was a Black Friday promo that had expired. Even with their mistake of the signage being left up they wouldn't honour the discount out of goodwill. Not even a few pieces. According to the floor manager they don't take part in the Code of Conduct, whatever that means. However if the company can afford to put it on sale for a price, they can afford to honour the sale when the employees haven't removed the signage a few days after the expiration. Incredibly disappointed with the service and likely won't be back.

Staff here for the Reptiles and Fish section are great. I want to say though that if you're looking…read morefor rats they are almost $20 more expensive here than they are at Mr. Pets in St. AB. They also don't come individually wrapped - they wrap them in paper towel and put them in a bag for you. This means they might get freezer burn or stuck together if you don't use them fast enough. So my suggestion is to only buy like 4 at a time instead of stocking up. I honestly think I will keep coming here for worms, but I'll stick to buying my rats elsewhere just for the price alone. You gotta come on Tues/Thurs to get the new worms! If you come on a Monday the selection isn't good and you might be buying 50 but then find that half are dead. So definitely try and come in for the fresh shipment. Sometimes I bring my babygirl Smaug (Bearded Dragon) here and the staff is so nice to here. They love seeing her and she likes to be out and about socializing with all the humans. I like that you can bring your animals here - even the reptiles. I come here just for the staff alone, they're always friendly and helpful. I feel like I get good service here. I also bought my ginger cat, Churchill, here! We saw him in the window a year ago and had to take him home with us! I can't believe that was almost two years ago now! Time flies!

Border collies are only suppose to live 12 years but my Dexter is still going. I believe it is from the food. I found it way better than production line quick stuff to only expand in the belly and is full of dyes. Dexter's coat is very shiny and he still has lots of energy. I would recommend this store to anyone, matter fact I have. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and the price is awesome. I get a large bag for $70.00+ but it lasts him 5 or 6 months so it works out to only $13.50 a month. You really can't beat that. Dexter's food is always down for him, I do not feed him on a schedule. He is perfectly healthy and like I said its because of the food. You will be happy you went to this establishment.

It is much better organized and professional-looking now, but it still has everything you could need for most common pets, at a good price. It still lacks signage and one can end up wandering around lost looking for things. Items specific to dogs, for example, are not all in one area but rather in different parts of the store according to the function of the product. The new staff are more helpful in my experience and I find the store has more staff available to deal with higher volumes of customers. I can't speak to their product expertise. They were great the one time we had to exchange something, no problem. They do need another till, the check-out queue is way too long, especially if you're carrying awkward or heavy items. It also impedes customer traffic through the store as the aisles get blocked. I'm glad to have rediscovered the old in a newer, better form, and am happy to support a local business.
