His knowledge was outstanding but his love for birds and his job is what really made this store a five star for me. When I told him my future plans on by buying a bird he said I can call at any time if I have questions and that if I found a bird on the internet he'd help me see if it was a good choice or not. When it comes time that I buy my parrot, I really hope it's through him. Giving my business to people that respect and love the animal as much as they do is definitely the way to go.

When I first walked in I was shocked at how many birds there were! It was loud (of course) and I was pretty hesitant to leave my feather kid behind. I set up her cage, which was a nice size for her, and right away the owner (??) came up and took her out of the cage- she took to him immediately! He was so great with her and she seemed to like him right away, which set my mind at ease a lot. Within seconds he had her cuddling up under his chin and assured me that she would spend more time out of her cage than in (which was wonderful, as that is what we do at home.) When I came to pick her up she looked happy and didn't want to leave him! They started forgetting to latch the gate, resulting in our dog escaping on three separate occasions. When I raised my concerns with the owner, I was met with an unapologetic attitude and lack of empathy every single time the gate wasn't latched. To make matters worse, the usual girl who serviced our yard was replaced by a new guy. From the moment he entered the yard, his demeanor was aggressive, and he showed no gentle handling towards our dog, unlike the previous employee. This caused our dog to feel threatened and bark in response. Rather than deescalate the situation, the guy yelled aggressively at our dog and charged at her with a shovel in his hand. Shockingly, when we reported this incident to the business owner (and provided video footage), his response was that their technicians can act however they need to when they feel threatened, completely disregarding the fact that their waste handler lacked proper training , and that we never had issues for many years (same dog). Every time we encountered an issue, the owner never took any accountability for their employees' behavior, only to deflect blame back on the customer. I was more than fair in giving these guys multiple chances to get their act together but the recent incident involving the new employee was the last straw. I hope this helps someone. I want to clarify that my dog never attacked your employee, and it was clear that she was more frightened of him than he was of her.
