I absolutely Love and trust Sublime Cat N' Canine! I previously used a groomer that had to close due to Covid. On the advice of the staff I was directed to Sublime as an excellent pet grooming service that would take care of my kitty's needs. I'm so very grateful as I was apprehensive to take her to a new place. When I pick her up she is soooo happy and never show's signs of stress. I feel 100% comfortable leaving her there. Just another 5 star review. We followed the ladies from another establishment because we loved the way they treated our dog. Our dog Beasley LOVES going to Sublime. When driving in from Leduc (because yeah it's worth the drive) as soon as we hit the Whitemud he knows where he's going and starts excitingly yapping. They have online booking which can be a time saver when trying to wrangle the whole family. Another benefit to the online booking is knowing they aren't just taking loads of dogs, they make sure they have the staff to handle the dogs. One of the main reasons I trust them fur boarding is knowing they have someone there at all times and that our dog can cuddle if he likes. Lastly, I love that they post photos and videos throughout the day! I get to see him playing with our friends dogs, and other regulars. Keep up the love Sublime! Thank you so much! read more

Love Sublime Cat N' Canine. I recommended it for my mom's cat as we drop our dogs off for both daycare and boarding. The cat room is very quiet as I visited my mom's cat to see how she was doing. She was quite content in her condo and chatted to me like she does at my mom's house. Her cat gets very jumpy at dog barking and neither her nor I could hear them so she was content. She did lose some weigh, as she doesn't like it when my mom leaves her. As for my dogs, they get excited when they see the daycare or when we mention going. Hunter likes to try to convince the staff to let him cuddle during boarding. Wilson seems to love treats and photos. read more

Absolutely love this place! I have 2 dogs. One 100 pound German Shepard/Rottie and one 14 pound Pug/Bichon both hate having their nails cut. This is the only place that can cut their nails. My big guy always comes home happy with his new bandana which he wears until the next time he goes. The prices are fabulous and I would recommend this place to everyone! Fantastic work!!!! read more

We had to board our cat Grady over Christmas and after some research we sought out Sublime. I called and asked a lot of questions about their facility. They had an answer for all my questions and invited me for a short tour. It's a small facility but the care they give is excellent. Each cat gets their own "kitty condo" to stay in. Every few hours the cats get to play in the larger play room to stretch their legs and there are a wide assortment of toys to play with. There is a person there 24/7 to give the animals the attention they need. They followed our cats feeding schedule and even suggested some adjustments. When I called to check up on Grady the employee sent me pictures of him playing. They also add pictures daily on Facebook! We would use sublime again and I don't think Grady would mind either. read more

Every 6 months or so, we take our cat to get a lion shave to get rid of the mats he gets. The last few times I've taken him to another groomer and they finish within about 15 minutes... and it's evident. He gets stressed out as its done so quickly but of course, very little care is taken to keep him relaxed and with as minimal stress as possible. Taking him to Sublime Cat and Canine was the best idea ever! So glad I was driving down 99th street and saw the sign. I emailed and got a very professional, friendly response within an hour or so. They were able to get him in on the very next Saturday. When I took him in, I was greeted (and more importantly the cat was) by a very friendly employee. I was told that he'd be done in about 2 hours! (What??? 2 hours? That's nuts, right?) Went to run errands for about an hour and a half and I thought I'd call to make sure he'd be done when I went to pick him up. The person who answered the phone and said that he'd be done in about 15 minutes, that he was just drying (drying? They even bathed the cat?) Wow! How much was this going to cost me? If 15 minutes at another groomers was $65 for a sloppy shave only, I couldn't even imagine how much I'd be paying! When I went in, I was expecting the number to be at least $100... but to my surprise, it was only $29! (they were having a 50% off grooming sale) but either way, it was less than the sub-par grooming I'd become used to. And the best part? The cat was so relaxed on the way home! No freaking out in his carrier! When I let him out when we got home, they had done such a great job! Nothing sloppy, super even, and he smelled fresh and clean and his fur was so soft (well... what was left of it ;) ) These guys now have 3 new furry clients! Kudos!!!! read more

Don't leave your cat here! We have two pups and a cat and left all three for a long weekend 3 nights of boarding. A fine facility for the pups (though we're not boarding there anymore as I prefer a place that allows them a separate kennel to relax once in awhile/at night). However we have never seen our cat so stressed as when we picked him up. Looked like he'd been losing fur and had dandruff like we've never seen before. The cat area is VERY small and located adjacent to the dogs so all they hear is constant barking. He was also kept in a small 1ft x 1ft cage nearly the entire time. read more

Read great reviews. Sadly, they cut my cat, deep too and didn't tell me. I got home and he was bleeding with skin hanging off. I called them and they came to my home with some cat disinfectant and told me that the groomer had troubles talking to people so didn't tell me. Then a couple hours later I noticed that the groomer also butchered his whiskers, which they shouldn't have cut at all (this is how they sense their surroundings). My cat is super friendly, sociable and loving and literally hid under my bed when he got home, under no circumstances should this of happened as a professional groomer. read more

I went a few months back (around two) and haven't left a review until now because I am like most people, and can't really be bothered. However, after this place came up in a group discussion board, I realized how important reviews can be. I would hate for someone to make the same mistake I did. My whole experience with Sublime was, well, not sublime. I will just list the major points though. 1) My pup was young, about four months, when I took her here. I used the overnight board for one night, and if I could have, I would have not left her. Unfortunately, pressing circumstances and no one else was available. I informed them that my dog starts off submissive/scared around new dogs (she will later relax though, and be totally fine). Despite this, I watched as they moved her into the main area after less than a minute in the "warm up" area, and she was instantly crowded by dogs - big and small, as they didn't have them separated like they said they do. Even to an untrained eye, she was EXTREMELY uncomfortable/scared, and they did nothing, even as she was surrounded and then, in her scared state, humped repeatedly by another dog. I literally watched her back herself into a corner and cower there. It was the worst feeling I have ever experienced, and would not wish it on anyone. Meanwhile, their staff was too busy VACUUMING to help her out, despite obviously not having been too busy to let her in and not wait until they could pay more attention to her/the dogs. 2. She was at the age where she still needed to eat lunch. I also had a three hour drive home, and told them she gets carsick if she eats too soon before we drive (understandable.) It was two oclock when I arrived, and she had not been fed lunch. Not impressed. She was so hungry she literally tried to eat the bag of food I brought on the way home. 3. Did they bathe her, since I paid for it? Did they clip her nails, because I paid for it? I honestly couldn't tell you. Which I honestly don't think is how you should walk away from your dog being groomed. 4. Bad customer service. I walked in and the woman at the front desk wouldn't get off her cellphone as she dealt with us. I understand the argument - probably dealing with customers/updating their social media/whatever. I do that too, with my job. But when I have a customer in front of me, I handle that customer before dealing with other ones. Even when someone calls, I politely ask to put them on hold until I have finished with the person in front of me. And the fact that it was a cellphone, I couldn't tell you if she was actually working or not. Overall, I was not impressed in the least, and will not be returning. read more

Our dogs love to meet up with their doggy pals at the daycare at Sublime. I've previously been to some pet daycares where you get more than the sweet smell of excess poo & pee but, at Sublime, the facility is clean and ventilation is pretty decent. As for doggy care, Dawn and her team are attentive and engaging with the pups to make sure they get their exercise. It's no surprise that finding a good doggy daycare is a prime concern; for many families, it's a safe, affordable option that allows the fur kids to socialize. Edited to say: Really impressed by how Griz looked after his last grooming. Even more impressed by the efforts of the staff to reach out to me and make sure I was happy this time. We'll definitely be back! The first time I brought my dog here it was on the recommendation of our previous groomer and it was great. Today they clipped all my dogs natural fringe off as part of the grooming. Which makes him look a bit odd. No one else had ever done that. Lesson learned: be specific when they ask for instructions about grooming. read more

My sweet little mini Eskie Padme got her ear hacked during grooming on Monday. They told me about it only after I paid$45 for the grooming --and $15 tip-- and then they brought her out, and when I gasped at the bloody wound they just said "Oh the groomer nicked her ear ". No apology at all! Nothing! Today my vet had to take off part of her ear and cauterize it! This place is horrible! I would give MINUS STARS if I could! read more

Don't bother bringing your cat in for grooming here. They did a less than satisfactory job and dealt with my concerns poorly and dismissively. When I called to set up a 10:00 appt I was told that it would be one and a half hours. As I do not drive due to disability my brother offered to bring my Norwegian Forest cat Ivar in for me. When he returned to pick him up they were not ready so told him to come back in an hour. When he returned he was still not done so my brother returned home to wait for a call. One hour later they called. Two hours longer than I had been told and my poor cat was very hungry as I thought he would be home for his normal feeding time around 12 o'clock. The woman I spoke with briefly apologized but did not offer an explanation for why it took two hours longer than I was told. The mats on his stomach were shaved off and he smelled strongly of perfume but I could plainly see that he had not been brushed more than lightly because his undercoat was still thick and ungroomed. The very reason I had brought him in was to save my family from the messy task of giving him a deep and strong brushing. I had mentioned on the phone that I'd like his nails trimmed and almost every nail was left split and fraying. Very unprofessional. I feel that they are not even using the proper tools for the job. I've trimmed cats nails for years and never had that happen. When I called to voice my complaints I explained what my concerns were and was treated rather dismissively and patronizingly, being called "dear". I wanted the manager to call me so she did and I told her that my cat looked the same when he came home except for the shaved stomach. Family and friends who saw him thought as I did, that he had not been given a proper grooming and brushing. One of my daughters used a brush that I have here and so much hair came off that it was apparent he'd barely been brushed. The manager questioned me on what type of brush I use at home so I explained and suggested that they should invest in some good brushes I felt that I was not taken seriously and when she offered to have us bring the cat in again for a brushing I declined as it is a 25 minute drive from home and my brother has already been there twice which is a waste of his time and gas. I felt that I should have been offered some money back for the inconvenience, waits and subpar incomplete grooming. $65 is a lot of money and it feels like it was a huge waste. I will be finding another groomer and I'd suggest that you steer clear of Sublime. read more

If I could give this facility zero stars, I would. I was absolutely disgusted with the service my pet received. - After viewing the website, we believed we would be able to get a quick facility tour when we arrived with our dog. I was told I could look through the tiny window covered in blinds to see where the dogs would be playing, but I had to stay in the lobby area. - looking into the play area I noticed there was only one single toy for all of the dogs to play with, which didn't seem like enough toys to me. - What put me over the edge, was that when we returned to pick our dog up, he was wearing a bark collar. No where in our agreement did it mention that dog collars would be used. He's never had a bark collar on in his life. They did not phone me to ask if they could use a bark collar. No consent was given. When I questioned the first employee she said he wasn't wearing a collar. I told her that I literally watched him wearing it, and then saw when another employee took it off of him so he could leave. A second employee then stated that my dog started barking at the door right after we left, so they put the collar on him. It was still on him three hours later when we returned. No one felt that they did anything wrong without getting our consent. It literally blew my mind. - that evening I received an apology from the facility, and they mentioned they should probably tell owners that they use collars on some dogs. This leads me to believe that collars are used on dogs quite regularly and the owners are not consented, or even told after the fact. Absolutely disgusting. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Ever. read more

I am very thankful while on holiday Sublime Cat'n Canine could accommodate my dog. The people seem nice, however the facility was packed. I have a large 8 month old puppy who gets along well with almost every dog and is always submissive. She LOVES going to the vet, in Nike stores, up elevators at my home daycare however she progressively became more reisitant on each of our three visits and our last visit she planted her feet and did not want to enter the dog area. Which did concern me as she loves everywhere and everyone. When I picked her up her demeanor was almost frantic on the way home and she was quite jumpy and visible stressed. It took her a good hour to relax. Normally after a good play at the dog park or daycare leaves her quite mellow. I do realize dogs play quite rough but my girl had quite a few large red welts and bruises on her ears and ribs. She has a very heavy coat so I am unsure of how many. I still appreciate how they accommodated me and the facility itself is pretty good. Too many dogs and possibly not analyzing the dogs style of play is the problem I think. My dog plays well with quieter gentler dogs. I believe she was completely over whelmed. read more
