I've been going to The Pampered Puppy for about 20 years and 3 dogs. They always do a superlative job. I first began to go there because they would deal with my "problem dog"--he went absolutely crazy whenever we went to any groomer, even with some sedation. He had been through a bad experience as a puppy at his first grooming. It got so bad that I had to groom him myself for several years and then it took many, many hours. when I first went I was given Sharon the owners daughter to groom my standard poodle . Sharon has her master groomer papers. For the first year everything was great although it did take several hours sometimes up to 7. The job on my dog got less impressive as time went on to the point I would always ask to make sure Sharon was grooming her. I was told that it was her. I don't know what happened but it just got sloppy, her ears were missed, as well as her sanitary area. l finally had to give up on them , it's to bad it all started out so well. read more

Ive used the location on 124st for serval years now. My experience always has been good until my last visit. On June 30th 2023 my dog was booked in for a regular grooming. (Which took +5hrs). She walked happily into the place. Upon pick up my boyfriend was informed that my dog was "terrible" for her grooming and very anxious and nervous. upon my follow up phone call the manager informed me that my dog has been getting consistently worse and more anxious in her grooming sessions, which has never been brought up to me before. She damaged a kennel during her stay, even tho they advertise as "kennel free environment". Clearly people there have little to no understanding on how to handle dogs, otherwise my dog would have not been getting worse with every visit. Not only seems there to be a lack of knowledge there is definitely lack of empathy and care for the dog as the manager seemed very cold and not concerned about my dogs discomfort at all. If you care about your dog and don want to end up with a traumatized dog like me, you will go somewhere else. read more

For 45 years, all of my dogs have required grooming. For most of that time I have used professional groomers with varying results. I've used Pampered Puppy for about 20 years. It is close to my home; the cuts were always acceptable to good; the price was reasonable; the staff personable; and I was always told that my dogs were well-behaved and sweet tempered. There were usually some too-close cuts, razor burns and/or nicks. I considered these to be part of what the hurried, professional grooming process entailed. My almost 13-year old, small dog has always been very gentle and quiet. He has a "once bitten: twice shy" personality. I have always made very sure that the groomers knew this so that he would be treated gently. Turbo was initially groomed 3 or 4 times a year. We found that he needed his lovely, long coat for warmth in the winter so that was changed to a longer spring cut then a short one for summer. When Turbo's stress-level increased we went to one late spring grooming. Last spring I told Michelle (the new owner of the 104 st location) about Turbo. She then spent about 10 minutes telling me: how excellent her skills were; as owner she could take more time and even hold him in her lap; she would groom him herself (and did) to ensure that he would have the least stressful experience possible. I checked Turbo at home after she groomed him. He had more too-close areas and razor-burns than he had ever had before. AND, the triangle of thin skin between his front leg and body had a nasty gash in it. I contacted her. She acknowledged the problems (though she hadn't told me about them), and, offered to pay for Vet bills or groom him for free the next time (this spring). I agreed to the free grooming assuming he would receive the excellent care that Michelle had originally promised. Three days later, I made a vet appointment. An area next to the opening in his penal sheath had turned brown (razor burn) and an infection had started inside the sheath. The vet told me that I should have brought him in earlier to have the gash stitched; squirted ointment into his sheath; gave instructions for further care. About 3 weeks after his grooming he was healed. I phoned for this year's appointment and was told: grooming was required more than once a year so I would not get the free grooming that had been agreed to; senior dogs required more care; he pulled his legs away when they tried to groom him so he would need a second person to hold his legs and it would cost twice as much; etc. They didn't even offer to pay the vet bill after telling me I would not receive the free grooming. I will be using a different groomer! If the groomer's comments are still below, you will note that Turbo's razor burns, cuts, and infection on blamed on me for neglecting him. I assume they are implying that his naturally tangle-free winter coat was matted and very difficult to trim. NOT so! I also brushed it to remove hair as it was shed. read more

They have opened a second mini location in a quiet little strip mall (so parking is easier than their main shop) in the residential Mayfield area, 15954 109 Ave. All the appointments are booked through the main shop so the groomer in the new shop doesn't get interrupted with answering phone calls. I contacted Pampered Puppy on short notice requesting a final grooming of my senior schnauzer. My old girl had cancer and I had arranged a farewell photo shoot for her. I was very emotional and was treated with such sincere compassion from the entire staff at Pampered Puppy. They went out of their way to be accommodating, be gentle and kind to both me and my dog. I will take my time in getting another dog; when the time comes that I welcome another canine into my life, they will most certainly be our regular amd exclusive groomer. Our first grooming was quite good. The second time was not. Cut was good, styling after - blow out was terrible. Called twice to get some resolve, was treated unprofessionally. Have been to Pampered Puppy numerous times with my Havanese. Stopped going for a year and a half because they cut my dog's long tail short after being told not to touch her beautiful long hair(tail). I decided to give them another try and gave specific instructions this time to the man at the desk. I told him NOT to touch her tail and not to even trim it. I picked her up and this time her tail had been hacked completely short on one side. They said it was because my dog moved while cutting. These are not professional groomers!!!! This kind of hack job should never happen at a professional groomer. Do not go to Pampered Puppy. There are much better groomers in Edmonton. read more

I love the pampered puppy and how much they care for my dog. A locally owned and operated dog grooming and daycare business on 124th street, the business is well located and well priced. I use the pampered puppy to get my dog groomed and for dog daycare. They only accept small to medium dogs making it less overwhelming for the smaller pups. The staff are friendly and best of all are great with the dogs. The one staff member will greet my dog by name and immediate start playing with him when he walks through the door. The best part is you can drop your dog off early and pick your dog up late if they are getting groomed because they have daycare services, this is so convenient ! This place will take great care of your pups and treat them with respect! read more

We use the Pampered Puppy frequently for both puppy daycare and grooming services. The last time we took him here for grooming services, and I mean the LAST time, they did an absolutely atrocious job. We like our dog hairy so we have been letting him grow his hair out for a few months. Just when his hair was at the optimal length, we took him to PP for a bath and trim. We only wanted an inch off but instead they took him down to an inch. Not only did they take off all of his hair, they did a poor job of it as well. Even though they screwed up, they also charged us an additional $14 because it costs extra to do it so short... time to find a new groomer. They are obviously getting complacent given that they are the only game downtown. read more

Although she cannot speak, my puppy's actions lead me to believe that she has a heck of a good time at Pampered Puppy's daycare. She goes three times a week and each time I drop her off she eagerly goes into the caregiver's arms with her tail wagging. When I come to pick her up, she is excited to see me and never seems upset or overwhelmed. I think the best indicator that she's had a good day is the fact that when we come home she has a quick bite to eat and then retreats to her kennel for the night, dog-tired. Some of the things that I love about Pampered Puppy include: -The puppy daycare group consists largely of small dogs which is perfect for my 4 pound pup -Compared to other doggy daycares that I have visited or phoned, this one is so quiet. which is probably good for the dogs' stress levels -The drop-off process is really quick, in less than a minute I can have my pup dropped off and be out the door -The staff are really polite, welcoming, friendly and reassuring. -They have parking available for the quick drop-off and pick-up process which is much appreciated for a "downtown" dog care facility. My only small complaints: -On a few occasions they haven't opened right at 7am for various reasons, but this is really important to me because I'm on a tight schedule to get to work after the 7am drop-off time. To be fair, they have only been a few minutes late, but every minute counts some mornings! -It would be really nice if they were open for daycare on Saturdays too for those odd weekends where I have a lot of errands to run and she'd much rather be at daycare than home alone. If my puppy could write a Yelp review, I'm sure she'd give Pampered Puppy 5 stars. However, since there have been a few small hiccups during the drop-off process I'll give them 4 (I wish I could give 4.5). I love that this is a family-run business, and that it's so close to home and work which makes it the perfect facility for our little pup! read more

Professional, fast and lots of staff. We've been taking our dog to get his nails and glands done for the last 3 years. They've always been able to accommodate us quickly, even without an appointment and do a nice job on our dogs nails most of the time. When they're good, they're great, but there is a lack in the consistency of services here. The location is spot on - SO convenient. Also appreciate how they are diligent with vaccine records. When they cut my pup's hair the first time they were lovely and asked if I would like anything different. I made some suggestions. After a few visits I knew what to expect and was quite pleased. About a year after that I was trying different groomers due to a change in my location. After I was unable to find another groomer we were happy with, I came back to Pampered Puppy and even though we had worked together to find the right cut in the past, they didn't do the same quality of job. Recently I tried their daycare services. I dropped my pup off in the morning and anticipating a full work day I paid for a day of daycare. When I left work early due to being sick and came to pick up my pup at the half day time cutoff, the staff acknowledged that we were within the five hour time allowance. However, they were totally unreceptive to giving me a credit for the difference in pricing. It was disappointing that they wouldn't even discuss the request. As they failed to show flexibility, I will take my business elsewhere in the future. Suggestions appreciated! read more

Our puppy had his 3rd complete grooming in this center on December 23, 2019. We were happy and satisfied with his 1st grooming. With his 2nd grooming, we were QUITE disappointed as his nails were not filed because they were sharp and he scratched us everytime. I sent an email regarding this but did not get a reply. So I thought it was because his schedule was closing, MAYBE the staff responsible for this was in a hurry and missed this. Regardless of that, I still decided to bring him in this center for his 3rd grooming. I set an appointment for him in the morning so the staff will not be in a hurry. This time, we are not just DISAPPOINTED but FURIOUS with how their staff treated our puppy. We requested for them to leave 1/2inch - 1 inch of hair but they trimmed all of his hair short because they said he got lots of knots in his hair. We were fine with that. When my husband and daughter came to pick him up, they already heard him crying but the staff wouldn't let him out until they paid for their services, of course, my husband was even generous to give them a tip. However, my daughter said our puppy was crying when they picked him up. He was sad, scared, and anxious when he got home. The staff informed them that he bled a little because of the knots in his hair. But during our holiday vacation, we noticed him scratching his ear and found a dried wound on the edge of one of his ears. His ear seemed to have been accidentally cut and it was not because of a knot! This is so unacceptable. I am not sure if I will ever get a response from them this time because they never acted on my first complaint. We are never coming back to this center! read more

I have been a loyal and satisfied customer for more than 5 years in spite of my dogs obvious reluctance and anxiety about being dropped off there. She had received nice cuts regardless of what condition her coat was in, that is until this last visit. Information about how the fur on her face was not transferred properly and she ended up receiving a full shave of her ears and muzzle. This had never been done before. The owner refused to accept responsibility blaming us for her matting, and yet we were talking about only 1 inch of fur on her face. An apology and a refund would have preserved our trust in them as mistakes do happen, but this was not offered and instead, the blame game played out. I feel the quality of their service has really deteriorated and would never recommend them to an unsuspecting public. Pampered is the last word I would use to describe their service. read more

From a previous month I had gone to this place to register my dog for daycare the woman working at the desk took all my pugs information and vaccinations paper work. Somehow they lost all the paper work and when I called in to see if I could drop my dog off the next day, they had nothing. Even the girl who I was dealing with over the phone seemed very confused and unsure of what she was doing. My little chihuahua puppy is normally timid (even a bit aggressive) towards new people and yet after just a few daycare sessions he doesn't ever want to leave when I pick him up! We recently took our two dogs to get groomed here after so many failed attempts with other Edmonton groomers and I am so happy I did. Not only did I feel safe leaving them there after a review of our vet papers but they took the time to listen to me regarding each dogs separate conditions and what I thought I wanted (teddy bear cut)when they explained that that isn't "really" a style so I just ask for a good clean up for their breeds (Peke and Pap). Fantastic groomers. Took our wire-haired Griffon here for grooming. Most groomers (from our experience) are unfamiliar with this breed and are challenged to do it properly. Based on their questions (and results), I can tell they were diligent, thoughtful and skilled. They did an utterly fantastic job-our Griff looks amazing. Took about 4 groomers (and 4 sub par grooming) in the Edmonton area to find this one--we will stick with this one. Highly recommended. read more

After getting several great groomings at Pampered Puppy, I brought my bichon in again, expecting the same great service. Altho i requested the usual grooming that she had received in the past, they totally shaved her! Although i understand that shaving might have been necessary if she was matted, i feel that they should have told me when i dropped her off, or they should have phoned me beforehand. However, the reason for my poor 1-star review is that they cut her on the inside of her ear, and they did not tell me when i picked her up!! i only discovered it after we got home and found a 1/2" bloody spot in her ear. I am 100% positive that the groomer would have known that they cut her as I'm sure that she would have yelped. I understand how it could happen, but it's unforgivable that they would not be honest and tell me about it. I later found out from a friend who also had a similar experience, who said that her dog was cut on her elbow, and that they also did not tell her, and she only discovered it after they got home. Needless to say, I can not recommend Pampered Puppy, and I will be finding a new groomer. read more

i was looking forward to taking my baby here because they were closer to where I live. But my experience has left me feeling offended. It started when the receptionist questioned the validity of the vaccinations by my vet when I first went into their business even with several documents that confirmed we had been to the Vet in March and everything was up to date. He questioned whether they were current and was going to call my vet. I decided to leave the place and called to complain about the treatment I received when I got home - and the guy said "Don't bring your dog then" and hung up on me. When I called back to complain about that - That's when I found out he was the owner- he told me "I HAD A BAD ATTITUDE" Who wouldn't after treatment like that from a business? Horrible experience and I would never trust my baby with them. read more

This was my first time taking my dog to The Pampered Puppy. My roommate ended up taking him to get him groomed.I had explained on the phone that my dog is suffering from kidney failure and as a result is extremely thin. I wanted to treat him as this may be his last hair cut he ever has. My roommate picked him up from The Pampered Puppy and he didn't even recognize him. The groomer kept my dog's hair, just giving him a trim and cleaning up his face and legs. I almost cried when I came home from work. He looks amazing and is so happy. I've been taking my small breed here for over a year, each time, hes perfectly groomed and the owner is very nice. It's comforting to know that all their staff are properly certified, and I've heard good things about them from others as well. The only thing to note is, my dog is extremely thirsty when he comes home, but it might be because he's too agitated to drink there. Prices are I'd say a little higher than average, but again, I think you get what you pay for. And over all, I definitely reccomend. read more

I do not think this 'spa' is pricey at all! Prices at the big box stores are higher- and they have staff that are not recognized by the associations. However, on a a more 'humane' level, I have a 'rescue dog' a dog the pound would not release for adoption as he was so mean-- this company treats this dog with so much compassion that he is happy when I bring him in--- I could write for ever- so trying to make this short- my dog -who hates men- runs to Brian - the receptionist - and crawls into his lap. They let me 'hide' my dog in the corner, as my dog is afraid of other dogs and when Brian comes to get him- Louis is all happy and tail wagging. I had to bring Louis- without his dog brother the other day- Louis of course is stresses and unhappy- they had Louis done in less than an hour- when they called I thought something horrid had happened, " No, we just could see Louis was scared and unhappy and did not want to go into the 'daycare' ( did I say these people also have puppy dayacare?)... so we thought we would 'do' him right away so you could take him back home to his brother (brother dog has a sore leg and cant get groomed right now). Louis was so happy when I got him--- but he is also so happy when he gets to this 'spa'-- he pulls on the lease to go in! From an abused dog- I think that says everything I cant! This is the best-- it is not expensive- it is less expensive than the big box stores--- but not cheap! These people truly love dogs! --- and the dogs can feel it --energy wise..... read more

I will never take my dogs to the Pampered Puppy again. The are the rudest people working there who have no customer service skills what-so-ever. I had been taking my dogs their for over 2 years, on one occassion they trimmed her nails to short. She could not walk on them for a few days because they hurt. When I called to inquire about this I was told "some times that happens" they did not even bother to say sorry. Another time my dog bit another dog, when I asked how the dogs were monitored I was given the brush off. I then asked to speak to the owner and was told the owner would call me back. I never received a call back. I booked them for another appointment. When I arrived I was asked to see there records for their shots. i told the women I didn't bring them, that I was not asked to bring them. She told me that I was told that on the phone and every time in the past I've been asked to show them. I told her when I booked the appointments I was not told to bring them or I would have and that I have never been asked for them in the past. She began to argue with me and basically said I was lying. I told her were to go and that I would never bring my dogs back again if this is the way they treat customers. TO THE OWNER......I suggest you train your staff in customer service skills or you are sure to lose a lot more customers!!!!!!!!!! read more
