Met a new furry friend there

Taylor and Adele did a great job with our two pups, Charlie and Angel. They were happy to be there and had a great time, which is one of the most important things for us as I am sure grooming can be stressful for a dog... Taylor did a great job with their grooming and our pups looked handsome and smelled great! Thank you!

While some days I wish I could pick up everything I need for my Waldo kitty at some fancy pet boutique, because, y'know, he's totally worth it (and as particular in general as I am), Petsmart gets the job done. One of the biggest cat sections in town. Carriers, a wall of toys (even fancy Martha Stewart toys, meeeeow), bowls, fountains, scratching posts, litter, litter boxes, food, treats, you got it. Not a ton of staff around to help, but when I find someone, they're great. When I had trouble finding the right carrier for him an employee really went above and beyond to help me find the right one. I also joined the Petsmart loyalty club, too, so I get discounts! A happy kitty is a happy kitty mommy, and this place keeps Waldo happy.

We always come here to get our cat's food and kitty litter. If there is a sale, then we'll get her new kitty toys, a bowl or a new collar. I highly recommend getting a PetSmart PetPerks card that can get you a small discount on items. At the front of the store there are blank name tags that you can have inscribed with your pet's name. Most of the tags are a little too heavy for my cat to wear around her neck, but there are a few tags that are smaller and thinner (ie: fish). Her tag was around $7 and I have her name and my phone number on it. She's had her name tag for over a year and the lettering is still intact. Petsmart is one huge playground for our indoor kitty, so once in awhile we will bring her to the store on her leash. Other people bring their pets there too, usually dogs, but we've never had any problems. Our cat is timid, but she is stimulated by the smells, the sights of strange rodents and fish, and the occasional loose cricket hopping around. The only area that she avoids exploring is the cat adoption room on the far right side of the store. The stares from the other cats make her uncomfortable. The staff here is always great, always friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable about the items we're looking for. They even show love to our cat.

Worst customer service at 3829 Calgary trail nw. Always a line up and when you get to the front the cashier is always rude and unhelpful.

She cannot wait to go to daycare on "daycare days" and I swear she actually knows which days it is without me telling her and she sits at the back door crying to go and then races to the car. The facility is also well taken care of. Puppy Training - we really enjoyed our introductory puppy training class. It was a great way to introduce our pup to new dogs, people and experiences. The instructors were very knowledgable and willing to answer all questions. They seemed genuinely interested in every family. Daycare - our puppy started out loving daycare but as time went on he was more and more hesitant to go in. I doubt this had anything to do with Sadie's but more a result of his personality and experiences changing. He was going just once a week and maybe it wasn't the right routine. The staff always assured us that he had a great time once he was in and playing. It was also nice to see him on the webcam (when it was working). Grooming - after a bad experience elsewhere, we were pleased to discover Sadie's also offers grooming. Our pup always looks good after a wash and cut. He seems to enjoy the experience (or at least not dread it ;) I still think it's crazy that I pay more at his salon than I do at my own but I'm also not prepared to start doing it myself.

This is a small business run since 2009 independently by Adam Jones, a certified dog trainer, who…read morebelieves that training is more effective when it's done out in the real world, facing the challenges you actually face while living with a dog inside the city. This is not a trick learning class. This is a class to enforce confidence, quick recall, strong sit/stay responsiveness, and good leash skills. It's designed to help you be the leader your dog needs, regardless of the age of your pet. We just started one of the 6 week group classes, which occur twice a week. He runs two group classes, a Monday/Thursday and a Wednesday/Saturday. I find Adam to be very responsive when i have questions regarding the training we're embarking upon. He's very fair when making sure we have enough training time vs. the weather, since it is an outdoor class. He makes each action the dogs make into a learning experience and is mutable based on the needs of the class. Come armed with plenty of patience and don't expect your work to be done when you leave. Establishing a lifetime, trusting relationship with your pup takes a lot of time, and we're putting in 2-3 hours a day with our dog outside of class. He offers private training as well as group classes. The prices feel a little high, but they're comparable to any other trainer in the city worth their salt, if not slightly cheaper. The good news is that if you feel you need a refresher course after you finish the 6 week group course, you can drop in on a class for just 10$. You can find him on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/906.DOGS/info and at his website: http://www.alldogsgreatandsmall.com/ and can email him with questions before committing. All you need is the sign up fee, time, a 6 foot leash, and a martingale collar and you'll be well on your way to improving life both on and off the leash with your dog.

I can wholeheartedly say the entire team (Adam, Nick, Angie, Corenna, and Brenda) are people I would trust my dogs with. Mully is a German Shepherd mix with anxiety and, although she loves people, she's not always so great with other dogs and she seems to have a thing about hats. Don't ask... Anyway, the team is so patient with her and practices from a place of reward training instead of punishment. My other dog, Cooper, literally whines for part of the drive home after leaving because he misses them (he LOVES his Corenna). He can tell when we're going there and bursts with excitement on the drive. It's funny. More than anything, I learn a lot from them. They make me feel like I am a good dog owner and I can overcome the things that I think I'm struggling with. They give me the tools to be better and are willing to call me out on my excuses. That part kind of sucks, but they're sweet about it. The only drawback for me is the pickup times - sometimes it's hard to get there by 6 pm due to the nature of my job, but I just work around it by only bringing the dogs to doggy day care on the days I know something urgent is unlikely. Whatever you need for your dog, I'm pretty sure they can help you figure it out in a way that works for your lifestyle.

She is very rude and caters only to her high level agility clients. You are expected to set up and take down the equipment for class, but instead of asking students for help and showing us how and where to set it up, she'll start yelling and belittling you. The list of amazing things that Sherwood barks has helped me accomplish with my puppy are…read moreabsolutely endless. We took him there for puppy 1, and did not know what to expect. The first class is for owners only which took me by surprise at first, however, it made perfect sense why very soon after. Jen laid out the rules and how the training will work as well as what is expected from the owners. We brought our puppy (3 month old wheaten terrier) to puppy 1 thinking that his sit, stay, lay down, spin, which he could already do, would be the star of the class and he would be perfect forever. Get your dog around 15 puppies and all of those "tricks" go out the window in a hurry. What we soon realized is that we needed to learn how help the dog behave rather than teach it tricks. Because like I said, the "tricks" he could do in our home, were nothing when distracted. And ultimately having control of your dog while they are distracted can and will save your dogs life. Think about busy streets, parking lots, dangerous spills that smell yummy to your puppy, and plenty of others. All huge distractions where you quickly lose control of your puppy and it could lead to a horrible situation. What we have learned is that gaining control of your puppy while distracted is an art that takes lots of practice, lots of patience, and lots of coaching. While I am extremely biased, in my opinion, there is no better people than Jen, Ashton, and the rest of the staff and volunteers at Sherwood barks. The both of them have the most incredible understanding of animal training and dog knowledge, regardless of the breeds. They also helped me choose the right food for my dog so that he is eating the best possible food, and he has been the happiest ever since. Jen can be blunt when it gets wild in there, but that is only because 20 puppies can get out of hand pretty quickly and it's because you are likely doing something that you shouldn't be doing, and it is only to help you master the skill. Attending Sherwood barks once a week is something that we look forward to. My dog is now going into puppy 3 and is doing absolutely incredible. Keep them stimulated mentally and they won't chew or misbehave at all. Do yourself and your puppy a favour and make Sherwood barks a priority in your week. You will reap the benefits every single day.
